I reserved a vehicle about a week before a planned trip to NC. I completed the registration online. It was vital that I drive a vehicle and turn it in after arriving in NC. I was traveling to pick up my truck and drive it back to the Beaufort area. I arrived at the Enterprise office in Beaufort SC today, May 29. 2026. My pick up time was 9 am, I was there about 15 minutes early. A young man was at the counter. I gave him my drivers license to verify my identity. He asked how I was going to pay. I gave him my debit card. He said my address was not verified. What? What does that even mean? He could not give me an answer. So, after that poor exchange, I left without the vehicle I had reserved. The enterprise employee was undisturbed that I was put in a difficult situation. "It's our policy". I have rented cars from Enterprise numerous times and have NEVER had a problem. NEVER! When I got back home, I called the Enterprise location in NC where I was scheduled to turn in the vehicle. What a difference! The young lady who answered the phone listened to my experience and said, let me call my manager if you have time. I did and she called him. He told her that a paystub, utility bill or registration would help to verify my address. She also gave me the corporate phone number so I could speak with someone who may be able to help me. That was time wasted. The person who answered the phone let me hold for a while and then transferred me to USAA. Seriously? What a nightmare. Now, of course, I cannot pick up my truck in NC. I am done with Enterprise. Never again. I will make sure to let as many people as possible know of the poor customer service at the Beaufort SC location of Enterprise. read more

Husband booked a much needed car a couple of days in advance. This is the FILTHY dirty, stinky, smoke reeking piece off crap the offered up. Cant believe ENTERPRISE corporate allows them to rent out a car this dirty, smoke infested, seat stained vehicle that hasn't even been washed on the outside. Of course it was 1 hr before they closed (noon) on a Saturday with no other options available. We travel a lot and we will NEVER rent from Enterprise again! read more

Was charged more money outside of what my insurance covered. Now being told that I "agreed" to pay out of pocket, which I know I wouldn't have agreed to. As I have been fine in the past using a smaller car than when I drive. As it's a rental, and only temporary. Reached out more then one time over the course of a month, but trying to get this taken care of is frustrating. Check your statements and all charges, because you too might have gotten charged for something you didn't agree to. Finally spoke to someone after being on hold for 48 mins and being hung up on and was able to get refunded the money. Thank you to the gentleman who assisted me with this. read more

I called to see what it was about and Eric the manager and he was no help at all. I had an important medical appointment in Charleston and an unexpected car problem. A Google search showed Enterprise being close. I had not rented a car in over 20 years. I showed up unexpectedly and was quickly greeted by the Manager. I explained my problem and in less than 30 minutes I was in a very nice rental and on my way. I've brought this to the manager's attention as well as the gentlemen who have attended my rentals. I've had problems with the woman who answers the phone, the only female at their office. She hung up on the owner of our company, I called to resolve the issue we had and she put me on hold and claimed the manager had been with a client for over thirty minutes. No problem and I suggested to her that she could've come back on the phone and informed me instead of leaving me on hold for 30 minutes. She proceeds to say I don't appreciate your attitude. I said I don't have an attitude. I'm recommending that you be kind enough to let the customer know that the manager is still Meeting with the Customer this way we have the option to have them call us back, but she didn't allow me to finish my statement. She put me on hold. She's hung up on me twice. Needless to say, my issue has not been resolved. Time to submit a formal complaint. I will say she is the most unprofessional and rude individual I've had to deal with at Enterprise. read more

Avoid at all costs. I'm a member of the military that booked here under a government contract. When I checked the vehicle out, the manager (Lake), showed me areas on the car that had been damaged. A few days after I returned the vehicle, I was hit with a damages charge in excess of 1700 dollars (damages which had already been pointed out). It was at this time I was made aware that the Government Insurance hadn't been included on my reservation. When I attempted to retroactively add the insurance, the company continued to give me the run around before turning the information over to a collection agency. For any Government Agencies that are renting with this company, don't make the same mistakes I did! Make sure you're covered under the appropriate insurance on your contract, and take a video or pictures of the vehicle before you rent! This branch will not only refuse to help you, but they'll actively try to screw you over. This is a total scam, and I look forward to alerting the Beaufort press to this issue. read more

Rude and unprofessional. Needed a rental because car was in shop for body repair. Had a confirmed reservation and never got a car. Was told they "didn't have any". So why allow a reservation to be made ? Don't use enterprise Beaufort if you need a reliable car rental. They won't come through. Staff was very rude and unapologetic. After two days of no rental I called to inquire yet again and the girl who answered the phone told me,"If we had a car available, we would have called you.." No empathy or care. Booked a day before Memorial Day weekend, wanted a truck but we ended up booking for a full size SUV. Honestly they were phenomenal, being so last minute they were honest about my request not guaranteeing the SUV either with potentially having to settle for a mini van. I feel that they went above and beyond with my expectation and even changing pick up time with a possibility to get an SUV. Customer service did an amazing job, we did get a military discount as well overall satisfied they took great care of us and we ended up with a Ford Expedition. I am not one to review but will say I had to do this because of all the negative reviews I felt the need to do so. We will be returning SUV today, extremely satisfied with this location. Had a confirmation number from a web reservation and was told they, "have no cars." The truth is, they didn't want to rent the car the me because my reservation included drop odd at a different location! Be careful! You won't be sure you'll get a car until they hand you the keys. I rented a "smoke-free" car. It reeked of smoke which was confirmed by 2 Enterprise staff. They did not offer a replacement. Bringing it back after the rental time, I was asked if the rental went well. My response was "It still smells like smoke." They told me they would ozone treat the car. Look that up to see how effective it is. If you get in a black Malibu from Enterprise, check for smoke! read more

If I could give negative stars I would! They didn't have the vehicle I requested online and claimed to not have any way to reach me to let me know. So not only did I waste 30 minutes waiting for help, I didn't get any vehicle I needed for the weekend.They were not helpful at all in trying to put me into another car, and proceeded to acuse me of being late for pickup when I was on time according to my reservation. Also, the employee told me of other places I could go but then said "they're all closed now though". The employee was too busy entertaining their child to be of any actual assistance so I wasted time I could've spent finding another rental. Overall terrible place to go. The government rented me a compact vehicle from the above location (239 Robert Smalls Pkway). The car was rented in August and was to be returned OCT 25th on government orders. It was to travel from sc to fl for training. I was called a few days later from my departure, that the clerk did not do my contract correctly and that the government credit card nor my information was taken properly. That was corrected when I had the first opportunity. Then I received calls to rewrite my contract when the 30 days came near. The contract expired Sept 23 but I was Able to make it by Sept 27th(to the beaufort location) . I received multiple calls after my visit on the 27th that I still needed to get this done. When I went In person i simply thought the clerk finally took care of it . Then I got multiple calls but i stated to the assistant manger of beaufort that I had taken care of it and it was nearly impossible for me to leave training, I insisted there had to be some miscommunication because the clerk took my information again. On oct 10 they said it was time to renew it for the second time but I stated I would try my best over the weekend or first thing on Monday. Today is Monday and i went to 920 N Navy BLVD enterprise to see if i can address the situation. The assistant manager then stated he would not allow me to rent from this location because of the assistant manager of SC and her discouraging notes. He said he could see that I went on Aug27th but did not want to deal with my situation if Beaufort already had a problem with me. I pleaded that I was In a training environment and it was difficult to reach any locations due to school/training. I had All military belonging in the car and asked if I could Atleast rent another vehicle but he then said to contact sc to see why she wrote all those notes. I then called the assisted manager of SC and she simply stated "I'm not going to continue to deal with you if your not taking our calls". I calmly stated my situation and she replied that she could tell my command her self that i would no longer get a vehicle from there. Professionally I pleaded for an understanding. It is automatic payments from the government and i was Not delinquent. Taunting me, she stated maybe i could be nice to the fl branch and possibly get a car there. After two hrs at the fl branch he stated no but in conclusion I asked to get a ride back to base and he replied he could no longer help me.Both sc and fl branches seemed to discriminate against military personnel. After having a travel delay because of the storm in North East Enterprise at airport cancel my reservation I understand that part , All rental company sold out.Called the 800 number early in the morning for enterprise said had a car in Beaufort. Call Polite shuttle(fantastic service) on way up to Enterprise called after a hour and said they don t have any cars but maybe that night. Thank god for Hertz in Beaufort. Enterprize is a joke how can you not know if you cars to rent thats the only job you have.Then wait a hour to call ! I would have gave 5 stars but the car I rented was dirty on the inside. I also was not gave the GEICO discount even when. My claim adjuster called them to confirm qoute that was gave to me by there reservation department. I do not know who to blame. My car was totaled a few weeks ago and when I first got rental it was so smooth and all employees was so helpful and kind. It was when I came back to renew rental is when this issue came up. If I could leave 0 stars I would. My husband is a sailor and was already at the new duty station while remained in Beaufort to move. I was called at 830 asking me if I could pick up my car at 1130. I arrived and was told I have no car! I was stranded there!! I had them drive me home and had HERTZ come pick me up and provided me with a car!!! read more

The best car rental place in general. Three stars is a result of a five star rating for customer service at this store, it's always fantastic. But combined with one star for the cost prohibitive price charged for the 15 passenger van our local church has rented many times over the years. The price just went up again and is no longer even approaching sensible or affordable to a small church for weekend rentals to out of town events. read more

I had to deliver a car to my military kid based there in that town and needed a one-way rental back to my home state.....I knew I had no choice but to pay the Drop Fee of $250 but saying that, when I pay the rental charges PLUS that type of Fee, I would appreciate getting a car that is not a filthy pigsty inside let alone out. It had cigarette ashes, tobacco, dirt, dust, etc all through it and no one even tried to wipe it down. While the staff there at that office are extremely nice, when he got in to record the mileage, etc why didnt he say wait a sec and let me get this cleaned? It also kept reminding me that it's oil change was far overdue, almost 2,000 miles to be exact. read more

Ok...Now I see what the other customers are talking about! I too witnessed another customer being told the same damages were on her car (hood,trunk) when it was being returned, by the same Lady employee(perhaps?). I felt completely appalled. After the employee held them up claiming to "research" the matter, coincidently, the damages were documented when it was checked out, and the customer didn't have to pay. I don't know if this office is trying to boost revenue or what, but it's really disturbing. RULE OF THUMB: LOOK EVERY CAR OVER VERY CAREFULLY AND DOCUMENT YOUR FINDINGS!! Here's the lowdown. I feel that the only issue I have is communication. When making a reservation, more information needs to be gathered. I needed a small car for an economical trip of 600 miles. When picking up the car all seemed okay. I was anxious to be on our way so I didn't check details about the car. Not a full tank of gas, so had to fill up before leaving town. Then the real kicker, No cruise control! 600 miles driving a freeway is no fun at all. By the time I realized the car didn't have it, We were 25 miles out. Hell, I would have up graded before leaving if I had known. You can bet I'll check that issue next time I rent a car form someone. As for the staff and their treatment, The were great. Very efficient and courteous. read more

The car itself was just fine--no problems. I had two issues. First, there was no way to return the car while the shop was closed--no key drop box or anything like that. Second, they would not accept my Visa-backed debit card for my deposit, and my credit card didn't have enough room on it for the rental plus $150 deposit. If I had understood that to be the policy in the first place, I would have paid more on my credit card rather than putting that money into my debit card account. The further problem was that no one was interested in helping me resolve the issue. I called to make the payment on my credit card, but it wouldn't take effect for 24 hours (obviously not Enterprise's fault), I asked if my husband could give his card over the phone for them to enter it manually, but they said they had to physically swipe in it the store. The friend who drove me offered to use his card, but Enterprise would only accept the card of the actual driver. read more
