    To me it's crazy to think of a car rental location as being good enough for a five star rating but…read moredamn if this Alamo location hasn't time and time again proven to be top notch in every way. Rate: Usually not the cheapest at the airport but by no means is it the most expensive either. You can try to save a few bucks by going with someone like Thrifty or Enterprise but then as the saying goes with you get what you pay for either in terms of car selection/quality/being asked fifty questions as to why you won't accept every add on they ask you about. Car: They initially gave me a Ford Fusion that looked alright but the trunk was very small due to it's odd design and when I got inside it looked like Cookie Monster rented the car before me as there were crumbs all over the front two seats and in the center console. A quick trip back to the counter led to a free upgrade to an almost new 2017 Chevy Impala LTZ which was a really sweet ride in every way. Service: As I mentioned prior, I felt the need to go back to the counter versus sitting in dirt/filth/crumbs and the person I dealt with had no problem giving me keys to whatever as she was mortified about the condition of the first car. It would be nice if they would have someone out in the temporary rental lot to do returns like other companies have but that's not a big deal as the walk to the terminal is very short. Overall it was another good experience with Alamo. They get the fifth star from me simply because over the years they've proven time and time again that at least in this area they have the best mix of service + car selection + price. Even with the small hiccup on the first car I have no problem recommending them to anyone.

Was told someone would be at the desk by customer service around 4 pm…read moreuntil 1 or 2 am, walked up around 1130pm and the lights were off and whomever was supposed to be there had locked up and left. Customer service unable to contact anyone local, so no help was coming. Was told to return tomorrow for car. Was just left stranded at the airport by this company. I hope the clown who left before the shift ended losses the job.

    DO NOT rent a car from these guys! "Almost new" is 95,000 plus miles. The check engine light was on…read moreand they told me "It's fine." Wipers did not work properly - did not get much off the windshield. Cruise control failed on the down hill - it just kept going faster and faster. The car was dirty, including the windshield. In the worst Noreaster on record - halloween was cancelled - there was no ice or snow scraper in the car. I returned the car after 2 days saying I thought it was unsafe to drive. "That's news to me." was the response. They charged me $20 a day plus taxes and an "administrative fee" of 5%. In addition, the gas tank was empty when I got the vehicle, so I filled it. I asked if they could just give me credit for the gas ($50 worth) and we'd call it even. He pointed to a sign on the wall which said "NO CREDIT FOR GAS. IT IS WHAT IT IS." So I have learned a very expensive lesson - $100 worth. My husband just died, so I guess I wasn't thinking very well. Tell anyone you know, these guys are entrepreneurs who are out to make as much as they can off unwary customers. It's become the American Way.

This place is nothing but a rip off, plus they have old junker banged up cars. Do yourself a favor and stay clear. Just go to Enterprise . They have much better deals.

All I need from hertz is a letter stating that my car was returned with no issue. They also won't do that! I was told it is impossible to get that letter written. I have begged and pleaded with them in person 4 times , over the phone almost everyday and called there customer service where I was pretty much told to get fucked. My reservations (haha) turned out to be more reliable than theirs. I had reservations to pick up my car at 8 am today, which I confirmed with a call to national yesterday. I got there at 7:50. By 8:15, there was still no one at the desk and no car for me. I called; my called was answered by the national desk, who told me they had my reservation. I was put on hold; someone else picked up and I had to tell my story again. And then they put me on hold and for A THIRD TIME someone else picked up. This person's solution? They would send an email to customer service and someone would get back to me later today. An email?? Later today???? I was finally given a different number to call for the local counter. The person who answered locally said they did not have my reservation (which is funny because he later in the call referred to my economy rental, which I'd not mentioned, so clearly he could see something). My favorite part was when, after telling me repeatedly it wasn't his fault, he told me maybe I was too angry to get a car. By this time it's past 8:30. Carless, I literally ran across town to make my 9 am appointment. Called the national company. Told my story. Once again, i was put on hold AND INSTEAD OF THAT PERSON TO PICKING UP AGAIN, SOMEONE ELSE ANSWERED AND WANTED ME TO TELL THE STORY AGAIN. Hung up on them. Called back and explained story one more time. I asked if they'd be able to partially comp me or extend my rental if I picked up later today. The answer: "We have no discounts available today." Um, I'm not looking for a discount; I'm looking for you to acknowledge that you wasted several hours of my morning. FINALLY spoke to a manager. Asked how Hertz was going to help me out here. Was told that this person--a manager--could do nothing except send an email to "escalate" and that someone from customer service would call me back, maybe today. (Great; I'm sure I'll hear from them.) Decided to give up and take the bus all day, despite a noon meeting to pick up several boxes of books for my organization. Tried calling the local company to cancel my revised/later pick up time. Nothing but a busy signal for 20 minutes. Called national. Gave my reservation number for--yes, I was keeping track--the 9th time and canceled the pick up. I understand mistakes, but the incompetence of customer service was staggering. I suppose if you have to rent from this location, I'd suggest calling the local Easton office to confirm with THEM that they have your reservation, since they are the ones who will have to bring your car...going through national isn't enough. For me, though, I'll wait until the customer service folks call me back to tell them whether i will ever use Hertz again.
