No attitude greeted me as soon as I walked in, and overall great atmosphere. Camern was one of whom helped me and his overall customer service was great. The Southside location is ALWAYS helpful and friendly. No matter the number of customers or the hectic nature of the office, I have never witnessed their staff be rude, unprofessional or unkind. I needed to rent a car while getting some repairs done to my car, and this enterprise had the best rates for my last minute request. I arrived at 8:30 AM and the lot was empty! They found a car for me, but it was pretty nasty (stains all over the seats and the cloth was ripped on the top of the car in several places). Lots of dings on the exterior of the car, but I made sure that was notated before I drove off the lot. The car served it's purpose, but it definitely wasn't the best rental car experience I've ever had. read more

We've used this location a few times recently for trips. Employees have always been friendly and courteous, explaining the rules and answering any questions we might have had. We noted any issues with the cars that we saw before we left just to make sure we didn't get dinged for someone else's issue. Checking it back in was hassle free, and we had no issues. I picked up an Elantra at the Birmingham airport and the car windows inside were dirty and nasty. When I arrived at my hotel I couldn't open the trunk because the fob they gave me was defective. See photo Customer service is what keeps people coming back. Enterprise needs to work on training their cleaning staff better. I happen to be a trainer and when I see competent people I compliment them, but when I see sloppiness and laziness I mention that. The girl at the Enterprise desk expedited the order quickly and the girl who checked the car was good but had I known the fob was defective and the windows were filthy I would have requested a different car. I don't think I've ever actually left a bad review on a business in my life, but the way my daughter was treated at this location was egregious . I would give them zero stars if I was able to. My college student age daughter went to pick up the rental reservation that we made her Friday after work. Her car had been damaged in recent flooding and was not drivable. We booked through USAA, which clearly stated that the under age driving fee ($25) a day would be waived. When she arrived to pick it up, the total was much higher, and the fee was not waived .She called her dad to let us know that it was going to be more money, than gave her phone to the man at the desk so he could explain what we had been told by USAA and try to get it figured out. He told my husband that it was not an option to waive it, and it was just the cost of doing business. This was at 5 o'clock on Friday evening, so we were just going to proceed with the rental to make sure she had a vehicle. But at the end of the conversation, my husband said he was going to reach out to USAA and see if anything could be done to get the fee waived. Although the situation was definitely irritating, he was not rude In anyway to the Enterprise employee. But once my daughter was off the phone, he told her that he was canceling the reservation and that he wasn't dealing with her Dad causing problems for him. Nothing about the situation seems right, and it was manipulative to tell her that once my husband was off the phone. She had a coworker drop her off, and was now stranded in downtown Birmingham, which is one of the most dangerous cities in the country. She left the business panicked and crying, so she didn't think to get this man's name. Although she did say he was a heavyset and bald. She had to Uber back home and is still currently without a vehicle. With all that being said, I would avoid this location at all cost. I understand that everyone has bad day, but this man is clearly on some kind of power trip. read more

my daily driver broke down yesterday and I had to have it towed to a shop. I reserved a car online and walked the few blocks to pick it up. They had no cars by the time I got there. The person at the counter apologized for my wasted time and said he had tried to call. My fault for not calling to confirm. So i reserve a car at this location. The minute i got my confirmation, I called to make sure I would have one when i got there. They said sure and as soon as I said I was walking to them they offered to pick me up. I said sure and went to wait. 45 minutes later still no call, no show. I finally called back and asked if they were picking me up. Oh gee wiz we got busy and now we don't have a car for you. I asked why they didn't call me and let me know, since I had confirmed they did have a car 45 minutes ago. I spent 45 minutes waiting for some idiot right at the time most rental agencies are closing. Thank goodness for a kind neighbor who picked me up and took me home. So basically these dumbasses let me wait for almost an hour for nothing. Avoid this location!! read more

We have used Enterprise several times now for rental cars, each time thinking " Maybe this time will be better". It never got better. The staff inside this location are always friendly, however, there is always a problem with renting. The first time we utilized them, we had been in an accident so we were using them through an insurance claim. When we got there to pick up the car, we were told there were no more cars because priority goes to customers with reservations before insurance claims. BUT, the next time we rented from them, we did so with a reservation because we were going on vacation. We were then told the opposite! We were told they did not have our car ready (which we had reserved 3 weeks in advance) because priority goes to customers with insurance claims first. So now both times, there was no car ready for us. When they finally did get us into a car, (2 hours later) IT WAS INFESTED WITH TINY ANTS. Due to there being no more cars in the lot, we had to drive to another location for a car. They compensated us 2 days of the four week rental. I gave 2 stars due to the cars themselves driving without issue, and the staff being friendly. Other than that, renting was a pain. read more

I knew I'd be in a hurry to make a meeting after dropping my vehicle off for repairs, so I had my secretary call this Enterprise location to reserve an SUV an hour ahead of time this morning, since we've rented from them (at this and other locations) at least 20 times in the past few years. Ever heard the Enterprise ad that says "We'll pick you up.."? Well don't count on it. They didn't have anyone available to pick me up a less than a mile away, so I had to ask someone from the repair shop to bring me. When I arrived and presented my company's debit card for payment, the woman at the desk informed me that I would need at least 2 other forms of personal ID (who carries their utility bills around?) without an actual credit card. I was frustrated but called my secretary to help me gather the needed docs to complete the rental. While on that call, I asked my secretary to try and find a car rental company which doesn't require so much because it is a "pain in the ass". I was neither facing nor speaking to the agent at the desk, but heard her say loudly that "I'm sure Budget around the corner will be happy to deal with your debit card". Caught off guard, I turned to ask more about the requested documents but then processed what she had said. Incredulous, I stopped before finishing my question and instead asked, "Wait, are you kicking me out of here right now?" She responded that yes, she was because I was cursing at her! As it happens I have an app on my phone which records both sides of all my phone calls (CallX, free in the Play store) and I listened to it again to verify my memory. Yep, she kicked me out for saying the word "ass" in a phone conversation with my secretary. So I left and had the guy from the shop drive me to Budget, as my friend at Enterprise advised, and she was right! They treated me politely and handled the rental quickly, efficiently and for less money I got a much nicer Grand Cherokee than the car Enterprise reserved for me. So all in all, I'd say she did me a favor. Neither I nor any of my employees will ever rent from Enterprise again, surely saving us time, money and frustration. But if I were that agent's employer, she would be unemployed tomorrow. read more

I have used this Enterprise location for several years now. I have never had an issue. I love that the turn-over rate at this location is not high. I see the same staff here year after year. My latest experience has to be my best. Ms. R. truly went above and beyond in suggesting an alternative entertainment venue in Atlanta for my son's birthday. We go to Dave and Buster's every year for his birthday, but after reviewing Andretti's website I thought it would be fun to stop in before going on to D&B. My son was blown away and decided he did not want to leave Andretti's to go to D&B after all. I believe we have a new birthday destination from here on out. read more
