The waiting area was comfortable, parking was easy, and there was no long line. I was helped quickly, and the staff was professional, calm, and respectful the entire time. Phone calls were returned, communication was clear, and I truly felt that they cared about helping me rather than rushing me through the process. Simone Cornner, Assistant Branch Manager, was especially kind, patient, and professional. The rest of the team -- including the young men at the counter -- worked together smoothly and treated me with courtesy and respect. They even remembered me by name, which meant a lot during a difficult week. Any time pressure related to returning the vehicle was due to corporate policy and not the fault of this local branch. Planned days ahead to pick up our rental, got there when they opened, waited over an hour. And they wanted us to pay over 200$ (which is not how much they said over the phone) and we were only renting for a day and the vehicle was trashed, stained all over the seats and it hadn't even been cleaned. read more

Worse location I've experienced. I reserved one month prior to arrival. They called the day before and confirmed reservation. I show up and after an hour they tell me that they have zero vehicles. I reserved a pickup truck/premium SUV. I asked how they would remedy the situation. The MANAGER said, "how about we just don't rent to you. Go somewhere else." Unbelievable poor customer service. I will be closing our company account with Enterprise. This location is the worse. And by the way., the area manager was driving a truck and refused to provide it to a customer. Their area manager is the most unprofessional, rude person. I waited in the rain 30 minutes to be picked up (as their hold music I listened to for 25 minutes advertises). Apparently, the area manager wrote my number down incorrectly so when the driver came he couldn't reach me. Despite my number and claim information being in their system, he couldn't check this to verify it was correct. I called several times to check in where they were, each time "on the way". After 30 minutes, my boyfriend calls and of course is very angry. Him and the area manager get in an argument where the area manager tells him to "pull up because he won't do sh*t in person" and that they will not be giving me a car. It sounds like this location never had a car for me, despite talking to them for 2 days, was never going to come and get me, purposely antagonized us, just to cancel the car. The area manager of this store should not have a customer facing job as he cannot handle the pressure and is extremely rude and unprofessional. read more

Management and their staff were in the back making jokes about customers because the customers were unable to get a vehicle, not knowing they could be heard. I find it quite disappointing considering I've rented from enterprise before, but have never seen this lack of unprofessional or blatant disrespect for the people who are trying to frequent this business. read more

While in Birmingham for work, my personal car had a low tire. As I was looking for a gas station to get air, I noticed the Enterprise on 5th Avenue North. On the way home from work, my car died in the middle of traffic. Had to get a tow to the dealership which doesn't do loaner cars. Called Enterprise at 5:58pm ; considering that they close at 6 pm - I really didn't even expect them to answer the phone. Brittany picked me up and was beyond nice, pleasant and professional, although I knew I had pushed her into unexpected overtime. No problems with the vehicle - clean and ran well. The employees at this location seem to care more about their comfort and personal needs than that of the customer. The service is poor and I hope not to have to rent from this location again. I called this location as I was headed in from out of town on the train. The train was running late and the location was about to close. I wanted to call and see what I could do in order to still be able to rent my vehicle. The person who picked up the phone asked me who I was and I stated my name and the fact that I was coming in on the train (running late). He simply said "Yeah are you here?" I responded with "No, the training is running late and that is why I was calling." He responded with "Well we close at 3pm?" I in turn said "Yes, that is why I am calling to see if there is anything that I could do?" The response was cold and very unhelpful. He (Johnny) said "No, sorry we close at 3pm." A customer centric location would have a least offered other options or maybe even asked "How late is the train running?" This did not happen. My husband and I had the forethought to go rent from the Airport and then set it up for a return to the Downtown Birmingham location upon our departure. Upon our return we were set to leave and get a ride to the train station. It was raining and we had ample luggage and a newborn in the backseat. As we were getting ready to depart the parking lot one of the employees flagged down the driver and told her to stop and remove us from the vehicle in order to transfer to another vehicle because someone else had to go to the train station. This certainly inconvenienced us as we were on a tight timeline to get to our train and, more importantly, did not need to be moving our son unnecessarily in the rain. This was especially unnecessary given the train station is 1.5 miles away from this office! This location must realize that customer service matters! read more

Enterprise Rent-A-Car discriminates against some customers based on appearance. At this location,2728 4th ave south,Birmingham,Al 35233. I went in told a guy by the name of Stephen that I had made a reservation online. The guy ask for my drivers license and the ask my address and where I worked,I told him I was not working, He then,said that I would not be able to rent the car I made a reservation for.He then said we don't allow any one without a job to rent a car,and that they don't except debit cards.I then was embarrassed and angry thinking 1.That my trip plans were messed up and was going to cost me money for not checking in at the hotel in ATL, GA and 2.Angry and confused as to why I was refused a car rental,I then I told them I needed a ride back to my apt. and the guy Steven was the one to drive me back to my apt. He tried to make chit chat, I was not in the mood and was figuring why I was not allowed to rent a car, he then asked how was I going to pay for the rental, did I have a major credit card? Which I said yes the card I had ,in my name was a major credit card,he then call back to the office I assumed to the manager of the Enterprise office we just left and then said we'll be able to rent you a car after that call.The issue that I have is, The clerk Steven and that office manager looked at me and assumed that I didn't have a major credit card,It was discriminatory,I was never asked during the first in office visit at the counter whether I had a credit card, the guy assumed that I didn't have a credit card based on my appearance the only thing I can think of is racial.
