Let me start by saying I routinely rent from a competitor due to convenience and have only used this location twice. I contacted the manager directly a month in advance looking for a premium SUV rental due to the size of our family and the amount of hockey gear and luggage we would be toting around that week. I then recontacted the branch a few days in advance and everything was all set. I arrived at the branch on the scheduled pickup date and was immediately greeted by smiles, courteous staff, and the manager. She wanted to personally inform me that due to a Ford recall her model Excursions were unable to be sent out. However, she assured me she was going to personally ensure I received a premium SUV as I had requested. I was able to do just that after ten plus phone calls, extensive computer work, and with the assistance of other branch managers agreeing to assist her with my situation. We tried Enterprise and I cannot recommend it. There's straight up fraud going on in some cases such as how they categorize their cars. Then, there's rarely any available inventory. Instead, you have to gamble on whatever just came in just before you arrived. In my case it was cars with bad brakes, smells, etc., which nearly killed me several times in the handful of times a vehicle was rented. Then, a complete tire blowout happened because the car they gave me when I showed up, had some undercarriage damage which pressed the front left tire against something which shredded the tire. Luckily I had decided to get off the highway and travel a less busy road otherwise I'd probably be dead. After paying close to $400 for a tow and a new tire out of pocket even though I paid for the insurance, the mechanic told me any new tires would keep shredding shortly after I hit the road because of the undercarriage damage. I had to then drive 4 hours to the nearest Enterprise because only the small spare tire would work without issue and we're only allowed to drive at best 10-15 mph on it. Thankfully I made it a few minutes before they closed otherwise I would've been stuck in the middle of nowhere. I was told by Enterprise that I would get reimbursed. When I got back to this location I told them, they ignored what I said and closed out the contract anyway. I reminded them and was told since the contract was closed, they'd have to manually do things by working with their accountant or whatever. I sent them an email with my receipts as requested and never heard back. Followed up several times and no response. Not to mention, they never brought up their subscription program even though we spent well over $2k renting within two weeks from them. For something like $1500 we could've gotten unlimited rentals for the entire month. The insurance is also shady. The main one you purchase doesn't cover tire issues unless it's related to a crash so if you pop a tire you're screwed. You have to buy the roadside assistance option just to cover tires and possibly undercarriage damage from single vehicle crashes which comes across as a malicious scam. Don't rent cars from Enterprise, especially this location. It seems they don't care if you could've died from their crappy cars as long as they get your money. Good luck because $400 pocketed from greed is gonna net you thousands, maybe tens of thousands in losses. read more

I am not sure who does the hiring process, but some of these women are down right unprofessional at some of the locations. Some of these cars need to be serviced and not rented out. I suppose to drop off the car I hope my experience is much better then when I picked it up at the location in Blue Island , Illinois. I have read several negative reviews and I'm wondering , are these issues being addressed? This is what my insurance pays for. My car came with dents and scratches with a tire light on . That will not go off due to a sensor is what the Rep there told me. The porter filling it with air. I told him I hope that he isn't over inflating. read more

I rented a car from here in late Feb and I had some items stolen out of my car. I paid for the insurance to cover everything. I contacted this location in Blue Island to inform them, and I even gave them my police report number. They didn't know what to do, said they would call me back (never did), said they would get a manager to call me (never did), I even called another branch and they told me sorry but the Blue island would have to handle it. I even tried to follow up a few weeks ago and still nothing!!! This is poor customer service, and very unfair to me. read more

I made my reservation on July 12, 2022 for July 28, 2022. A representative called me saying we don't have a vehicle for you but if we get it we will call you back. So hours later I called back and was told to call the one in alsip but it was nearly closing time. I'm thinking to myself aren't you all supposed to call around or offer an upgrade? Anyway, this morning I call back and the representative kept trying to over talk me when I asked aren't they supposed to call around or offer an upgrade? I could get a full sized sub. Waiting on hold more than 15mins is not what other locations do for you . Just ghetto. The driver( porter) picked me up from the collision place. He was driving and trying to show in his phone me a picture of his decease son . I had to tell him about having his phone in the hand not keeping his eyes in the road. An older gentleman. On arrival I'm noticing people standing outside in the cold waiting to be seen since Covid no one can go inside. They told me 50$ deposit the girl tried to charge me $100 .. scam but I paid the 50$. The rental car has scraps and lights on I had to notate it. Then she trying to get me to add some more stuff... nah just give me my rental that my insurance pays for!! Never again will I go there! Very disappointing experience. I waited for two hours in the blazing hot sun to be given a car with bird poop, sticker adhesive and filthy tires. The saleswoman was too triflin to give me a walk through of the car saying "Ma'am it works like any other car!" How rude and unprofessional. If I knew how the car worked, I wouldn't have asked her for a walk through. Very unprofessional and unacceptable! I would not recommend anybody come to this location! read more

When I first arrived at this place it was 1230 on Saturday and I found out they closed at noon, not a great start. The guy working pulled a quick one for me and overrode the computers so I could still get a car, so I figured even if this company has no idea what they're doing at least they hire good people. I thought that until Thursday when I returned the car, two days early. I expected a little discount on the weekly rate but was told I wouldn't get any. They said Thursday after 12 is Friday for them since they can't rent the car out again, that I understand. So I then expected a one day discount...but nope, they said they would have to charge a daily rate if that was the case and it would be even more money. So in summary, I had to pay for a full week even though I didn't have it a week, and I'm sure enterprise was trying to rent it out the next day while it was still on my dime so they could double dip. I seriously wish I read reviews prior to visiting this place but how can you screw up the rental process especially from an "established" company. Well, I sure found out with tremendous disappointment. I had a reservation and even received a reminder call the day before. I arrived and was told no cars were available. I couldn't get an estimated wait time and a "courteous" associate asked if I had anything to do this morning. I mentioned getting to work. He sighed and I guess he thought I could walk around the neighborhood while waiting for them. I'd rather walk to Midway Airport for my next rental because I will never visit this branch again. I hated to give a 1 star. I've had to use this location twice & each time the service was horrible. The staff that has been there the past few months is the worst. They lack customer service to the fullest. Alyssa put me in a very small vehicle that I was uncomfortable in, promised to switch me out at noon and I never heard from her. She never called to advise me otherwise. I called twice no one answered,but I was immediately put on hold for over 10 minutes, again no one ever acknowledged me on the line. When I arrived to the location there was 3 gentlemen standing and one sitting in the chair just conversing away. All these people working and no one could answer the phone to say please hold one moment. I asked for management information and they refused. I wouldn't recommend anyone to go here. I had a reservation at this Enterprise location for pick up on 6.29.19. Abbreviated version: I arrived with my DL & major credit card. I have rented previously with Enterprise at a different location (with same credit card). I was immediately told by staff they do not accept Uber cards. I informed them it is a major visa card with Uber rewards (just like many credit cards that offer rewards). The employee informed her colleague who reaffirmed what she noted. I restated it is a credit card issued thru a bank. The 2nd employee calls her VP and tells me this person noted they don't take Uber cards. She asked if she could take a picture of my credit card with her phone. I told her no (why would I allow such a thing with someone's personal cell). I could not understand how something I have seamlessly done many times before has turned into their staff making me feel like I am trying to get over them. Instead of blowing a fuse, I canceled my rental and left. I went home and emailed my experience to their customer care email. (I was too upset to call them). I received a response the following day via email noting someone would call me. Guess what? No call. I wish I had a great experience like some others have noted but I didn't. It has been a huge inconvenience. I never had an issue with this company. I can assure you my credit & credit card is good. I have many major credit cards (Visa) that have point rewards for using their credit card and have never been questioned. There is nothing unusual looking about my credit card. I will NEVER reserve a car from that location again (and I am questioning if I will use Enterprise overall). I get untrained staff however, if a company saysthey are going to follow up they should follow up. I am disappointed with Enterprise Car Rental and I imagine my experience means nothing to them...perhaps this is their practice. read more

Wow. I rented a car from here the other evening and the whole staff was just so amazing and accommodating. I forgot my license and was running late for a meeting and panicking. I had to go back home in a hurry and instead of me going all the way there and coming back, they offered to drive me home and had an iPad to do the contract at my house. After disappointment of not being picked up. when a car did arrive Brandon advise me and another customer to get in a compact car with our spouses for the ride to his location.... My Reservation was for 8am on Monday. I am an insurance agent, and I made sure that everything was set up, and approved ahead of time, the Friday prior. I was told by the person I spoke with on Friday that the body shop has to call to get a car over to pick me up, which is the service enterprise advertises. We could not get through to the office. My body shop representative drove me there. The car I had reserved was not ready, or even at the location. The rep was extremely rude, responding with only "we'll get you into a car as soon as possible ", over and over again. There was only one customer present, besides myself, who also had made a reservation on Friday, and had been waiting an hour and a half for a vehicle. When I asked the estimated time frame for getting me into the car, one of the 2 reps started what was to be a long explanation of when the car was to arrive, from where they had to pick it up, etc. I interrupted asking "I need to know a time frame, as I need to let my assistant know, so that the office is covered". Apparently this was offensive to the other rep who stated "I think it's so rude when people talk with their hands". Wow!!! I stated " I think it's rude when people talk about people when they are right in front of you". She states "I was talking to him, not you". Game over little girl!! You just failed customer service 101!! I spoke with the regional manager, who was very polite and apologetic. But by this time, I had Hertz on their way with a new vehicle, and I cancelled with Enterprise. I won't be referring this Enterprise location to my customers, as that would only make me look bad in their eyes. I will suggest Hertz. I spoke to my body shop who said he's been having these reservation problems with them for the past month or so, which is why he gave me a ride over there in the first place. Enterprise needs to get this office in check. Their poor service just cost them a 7 day, insurance paid reservation, and future referral business. Just like the car rental Seinfeld episode "the reservation keeps the car here". The customer service representatives at the Blue Island Enterprise car rental office need to stop making lame excuses to pacify customers, whom they make wait for over an hour or more, for a car they reserved days prior. They also need to go back to school to learn the basics of business and customer service skills, not to mention, manners, which apparently, they never learned. It's now 2:30pm & customer service says there's nothing they can do because the office is now closed. I spoke to someone at 11:13am, who said someone was on their way. This is so unprofessional. Terrible customer service. Aggressive and belittling! As an individual who was recently rear-ended, sent to the hospital injured and then inconvenienced for a week because I was unable to drive due to my injuries I was ecstatic when I was finally able to get behind the wheel again. My insurance company set up a reservation at the Blue Island location and I called to modify my reservation. The man who assisted me did the following and possesses NO CUSTOMER SERVICE SKILLS: he cut me off while I was spelling my last name for him (like who does that?), acted annoyed that I was changing my reservation (to a very mid day reasonable time!) AND became aggressive (yes, aggressive and started mansplaining..) when I made him aware of what my insurance company was paying for in regards to the rental car.. so yeah bud... You lost a customer and you possess no customer service skills nor sensitivity as to what my situation was that has now put me in position to depend on you.. and many other people who walk through your company's door!!! This is the 2nd time I used Enterprise at this location. Everyone was friendly and helpful. We walked in and had no wait time. I explained I would be returning close to closing and the manager was will to let me returning it the following morning without issue but it wasn't necessary as I arrived with 30 minutes to spare.
