First I made a reservation at the middle village location called ahead to make sure they had my car in stock, she said "yes most definitely they have luxury available" (I did not know she was from a call center not on site), paid money to uber there just for them to tell me they do not have anything and couldn't rent to me. Next day I made a reservation at this location, called ahead, asked how to reach someone on site, they said press star to bypass, so I did then explained the situation to lady on site. She ensured me they had a BMW available so I made the reservation. On the way there the lady called me to tell me they rented the car to someone else and that it was "above her". She giggled. I can't. You can do everything possible to ensure there are no mishaps and they still will f*ck you over and laugh in your face and say idk try a different location. read more

If you could. I would avoid this enterprise rental location at all costs. The customer setvice here is horrible and the branch manager is horrible. brought my car back here to return and was given so much trouble. First of all they initially took the car in and said no problem, then saw the car needed a bit of cleaning inside. Employee goes inside and tells the manager and then the manager comes back out saying they actually can't take the car because the car was not picked up from this location. (which it was). After that they proceed to say that they don't have room to take in the car (car was already parked in a spot in their lot). I confirmed with enterprise corporate customer service on returning the car there before coming to the location. Was refused for all these reasons. They kept making up new reasons on why they can't take it after each one was ruled out. I leave and enterprise corporate calls me and says bring it back. They have sent a notification to the branch and they will take it in and won't refuse it. I bring it back and same thing. They make the same excuses. Clearly not wanting to take my car due to having to clean it. Mind you this was a 7 month rental and I was okay paying the cleaning fee. Waste of my time and horrible branch manager. I would avoid at all costs as they really will give you a hard time for everything. This has been escalted with Enterprise corporate upper management with a case number and they have vouched to make it right and contact the branch. Let's see if it actually happens... read more

I because one more of the victims of crime and the Catalitic was stolen from my brand new SUV. My insurance arranged everything for me to get a temporary rental car here. The service was excellent. I was picked up from m6 Mechanic for a ride to the office to pick it up. The process was fast and smooth, I had choices of cars and and took the smallest car they had. A few weeks later when my Vehicle was ready, they also gave me a ride back to the mechanic, the whole process was smoke and fast which I loved because I was able to keep on working and not miss time out of work and got a car asap on this location. In regards to the Enterprise rent a car location at 266 McGuinness Blvd in Greenpoint, Brooklyn: The management and entire crew at this location went above & beyond to help my wife and me with our rental. Everyone was friendly, courteous & professional. I'm a big and tall guy, and Davis (an employee there) and their manager took their time letting me try out cars that would fit me well, showing patience and offering helpful suggestions. You can tell when management has trained the staff well, and has set the groundwork for the staff to have respect for each other, as well as for the customers. There WAS a slight misunderstanding: we thought there was an EZ Pass in the windshield box (there was NOT, and we didn't find out until we passed through more than one EZ pass lane later on). I should have double checked AGAIN before we left to travel to PA, so I'm taking the blame for this. Anyway, my wife and I will be glad to use this location again. read more

I find it rare that an employee is so unhelpful, aggressive, and unprofessional that it warrants a complaint. Yet today I went to return my rental car to this location & was met with vile & aggressive behavior. I didn't pick this car up from this location yet my Enterprise agent cleared this drop off the day before on the phone. This car was rented through my insurance & I was informed it could be dropped off anywhere in the city during business hours. The employee at this location accepted NONE of this. He searched for various excuses to not take the car.. the most ridiculous was the it had Canadian plates... he told me it was illegal for this car to be rented to me via Enterprise. He aggressively interrupted and clipped any & every response & refused rational conversation. I had very little choice but to leave the car there due to scheduled work. And considering it was cleared the day before I did. Finally I had enough and simply & loudly expressed I was leaving the car there. He told me that " I swore" so he didn't have to help me. As I walked away he was parking the car and stated "we'll see what happens to this car"... I called Enterprise directly afterwards and they assured me that I had full right to drop this car at this location, that it was not "illegal" for them to rent a car with Canadian plates(clearly) and they handled my check out online to avoid any more confusion sewn by this horrible & aggressive employee. Highly recommend and will be coming to this location for any future car rental needs. Dustin and Matt were incredibly kind and helpful -- seriously good customer service. They helped resolve a misunderstanding about the reservation I had made with a different rep on the phone with HQ. After my trip, I also got really worried when my drop-off location emailed me a damage report form the next day after an overnight return. The car was totally fine when I returned it. I couldn't get in touch with that location and wasn't able to ask what happened between the time I dropped off the keys and when they checked the car back in, so I called Dustin and he eased my fears -- because I had paid for insurance through Enterprise, everything was covered. I was so relieved, I forgot to ask what the damage report was for, but anyway, I'm super grateful for their help throughout the entire process. Thank you, guys! read more

Went to this enterprise at about 4:15pm to pick up an insurance rental with my mom and was met with the most unprofessional and unethical work environment. Avoid this one if you can. As soon as we walked in we felt tension, kind of like if we walked in at the wrong time. There were two workers a guy and a girl. No one greeted us or asked us if we needed help, and none were with a client. They kind of just avoided us and lowered their gaze. We weren't sure if to approach someone or not. I feel the need to unfortunately mention this, My mom is a Spanish immigrant. They mocked and laughed at her English pronunciation and made her repeat herself several times before helping her, even though I was there and helping her through the process. I speak fluent English. She even requested and asked if anyone there spoke Spanish and could assist her. No one responded. There was just silence. Her questions and concerns were not acknowledged. We expressed that it was the first time we pick up a rental through the insurance coverage and asked if they could explain it to us and assist we would greatly appreciate it. There was no response. I didn't get the girls name but eventually Mustafah, I believe is his name, started entering my moms information. He kept huffing and puffing under his breath and taking it out on the tablet screen by tapping it unnecessarily hard. We could tell he did not want to help us. He told us he needed the auto shop information in order to proceed, it took us about five min to retrieve because we didn't know the name nor the address off the top of our heads and he was upset and reacted as if we were wasting his time. Which we apologized for unnecessarily. He kept reminding us that they were closing soon even though we got there around 4:15pm and they close at 5pm. After several other mishaps and whispering back and forth with the other girl that was there. They told my mom she would have to pay about 12 dollars a day for rental. And asked for a credit card without explaining that it was actually an "upgrade" they were giving us. My mom asked why, and could it be explained because the insurance told her she wouldn't have to pay out of pocket. She couldn't afford to pay more than what she was already paying. His response was that if we wouldn't have taken so long looking for the auto shop address the client that came in afterwards wouldn't have taken the last car covered under the insurance and we would've had a car. And shrugged. He said maybe you'll have better luck if you come tomorrow. It was pretty humiliating to go to an establishment expecting a level of service and walking out without answers/alternatives. And overall no help/ empathy. The lack of professionalism and rudeness was beyond anything we have experienced. It left a sour taste. Manners and a little bit of empathy go along way. Wow. This branch has really gone downhill in customer service. It had been a while since I used them when I posted my October 5 star review that I'm regretting. Today I reached out for an emergency swap bc one of the location assistants working on my film had his car broken into and the manager was super unhelpful and gave incorrect info. The film/tv industry works with the special Enterprise entertainment division, who books all cars and handles all swaps. Outside of their office hours, the entertainment division directs you to reach out to the branch directly - which I did - and the manager told me he couldn't do an emergency swap and that we had to drive our broken into car to the original branch we picked it up from (which is also not true). Turns out they didn't have any cars available, which we didn't even get to in our conversation, bc he kept telling me they wouldn't do it. I suggest doing everything through the Chelsea branch, who is always super professional and helpful AND they have a 24 hour dropoff. read more

This is my local car rental location. They have their pluses -- they're nearby, and they'll pick you up or drop you off between 7:30 a.m. and 5 p.m. Monday through Friday -- and they have their minuses -- they're not open Sundays, they charge $99/day, and they put a $450 lock on your credit card until you pay. That said, it's convenient, and the staff does try. I've rented from here twice, once this spring, and once this past weekend for a weekend away. Despite the price, it's just a $6 car service ride from my house, and the cars are clean and work well. Warning: They rent you the car regardless of how full the tank is. You need to pay attention so you don't get caught in Jersey with an empty tank. And you return it in the condition you found it -- not full. I wish they were open Sundays, but I'll rent here again. Since summer '12, I've rented cars from the Enterprise locations at 301 McGuinness Blvd (Greenpoint), 56 Fulton St. (Financial District), 36-49 31st St. (Astoria), La Guardia Int'l Airport, and Albany Int'l Airport. Some tips, so you don't go around blaming a business for yo' stupid-ass decisions: 1. Find out your coverage status, and write it down so you never have to wonder again. If you already pay for auto insurance, then call your insurance company and ask whether you're covered in a rental vehicle too; you may not be! If you don't have auto insurance, then check your credit card benefits next. Many cards cover you for collision, even injury, as long as you use that card to book your rental vehicle. If you don't get that coverage either, then purchase Enterprise's basic insurance (the first tier, collision). For much less than the cost of a night out, you gain the peace of mind of not having to pay *thousands* if someone hits you: and it's NYC, that's every minute you're on the road, driving *or parked*. 2. Sign up for Enterprise Plus. That way you don't need to enter all your information every time you make a reservation, but more interestingly: I asked a salesperson once why they didn't pester me about insurance / upgrades, and they said that Plus members usually know what they want and are a tough sell so they don't bother. In other words, you're less likely to be saleshandled, meaning, especially if you're weak-willed or naive or too nice, you're less likely to make decisions you'll regret. Finally, you get priority service if there's a line; kind of a dick move to cut ahead of everyone in line, but can be a lifesaver if you're on a tight timeline. 3. Lamenting over branches being closed on Sundays, forcing you to pay for an extra day? Hint: Check "Airport locations only." Airport locations are usually open 6am to 11:30pm. Handy for those (budget-conscious, last-minute) ski trips to Vermont. 4. Shop around. Manhattan prices are more expensive than Queens or Brooklyn prices. Obviously, the quality of cars and service might degrade with that of the neighborhood. But that's why I like this location: It's in the middle of nowhere (i.e. off the G train) so prices are low-ish, yet it's not a bad neighborhood. This location had the cleanest and most organized office, with courteous staff who didn't rush me like those at other branches did. Car was clean, everything worked as expected, and they even let me keep it an extra night for no charge as long as I brought it back early in the morning. (This however, I'm sure isn't standard, and maybe their policies even disallow reps from doing this now, so don't expect or demand it of them.) read more

I wish I can turn back the hands of time and take back the 1,300 dollars that went into this company. This place is convenient and the service is fast and friendly... But deceptively so. I returned the car and received a bill for $593. I thanked them profusely, thinking they had cut me a deal for keeping the car for a week, rather than just over Memorial Day weekend. I was in a hurry, so ran out without looking at the bill closely. I got home and looked more closely. That $593 was just for the extra days. My credit card had been billed $1300, including unforseen charges for roadside assistance, which had been seemingly just a service they "offer," not a service they charge hundreds of dollars for. I feel very angry and ripped off. They misrepresented the situation, and tried to get me out of there without a fight, by just giving me a receipt for the extra days. Derrick, the manager of the damage recovery unit is a liar. He won't allow me to file a claim about a Drunk enterprise driver who struck my vehicle. Derrick stated that I must call a host of other numbers. Which I did call. But with Every number I called, a representative told me to call Derick back he had given me the run around for quit some time. He is trying to make it so I can't file a claim in a timely manner. I don't understand why Enterprise doesn't want to fix the problems that the rental car drivers are causing to innocent people. Give these people raises immediately! I've literally never met a nicer staff. They are so welcoming and positive it's crazy. If they were in a cult, I'd join. Wanda seems to be the team leader and she's a very kind person. She loves John Stamos. The one critique I have, which is a problem with Enterprise not the staff here, is that you cannot get an E-Zpass with the car which makes traveling anywhere out of the city pretty a pain. I would give this place zero stars if I could. When I rented the car I was told we would only be paying for the time we used it and I would be refunded upon return. The rate on the rental was 496.80/week, which makes the daily price 70.97. When we picked up the car they put a 929.00 dollar hold on the card, claiming we would be refunded that extra amount when we returned the car. When I returned the car after 7 days, they charged me for the entire amount, which I didn't realize until 2 days later. I called the location and after explaining the situation, and with some back and forth, I was told I would be receiving a discount of 194.05 (the amount for 2 days plus fast pass and insurance), which would arrive the next day. The refund didn't arrive during the next 6 days, at which point I called back When I called I was told that a 7 day rental is really the same as a 5 day rental, so actually they didn't owe me a refund. When I challenged that notion, which is ridiculous and isn't stated anywhere on the contract, the manager claimed that they already made the refund, which hadn't appeared in my bank statements. This is because he was actually talking about refunding the hold, not the refund I was promised. Once I clarified THAT, he claimed they didn't owe me a refund for the extra two days, because 5 days at 99 dollars gets me an EXTRA 2 days. This is a scam, in actuality the daily rate was 71 dollars, but adding the two days means that if the car is returned earlier than a week they have an excuse to not give the full refund. To be honest, it's not a lot of money, but the indignity of being lied to and scammed like that is intolerable. I know that may be confusing to follow, but the moral of the story is this: When you are renting a car I recommend you DON'T USE ENTERPRISE. read more

Enterprise you tried it! Via geico, I rented a vehicle with THIS particular location last August because of a fender bender. I was not at fault, so everything to do with the repair of my vehicle was covered, including the rental. Only thing I was to pay for was the insurance that I opted to take through enterprise, as opposed to my own (I have my reasons). I was provided with a certain deadline for the completion of the work on my car, but I was also told its highly possible the work would be finished prior. In my case, the work was completed early on August 31st, 2017. I went to return the rental, and pickup my own vehicle (the body shop is near the enterprise) all before 2pm. I had a few mess ups with them after in terms of them charging my card when they shouldn't, but nothing beats the $134.48 charge I received 4 MONTHS LATER on January 23rd! I called up this location at 8:23am, and spoke with a woman who told me that she doesn't know what that charge is, and she can't see it on her end. She also suggested that I speak to their claims department; stating that it could have been a ticket I received on the rental. NOT AT ALL LIKELY. However I soon discovered that to be the case when I called up the claims department at 8:27am, and spoke with a woman who told me that I received a citation on the rental at 4:22pm on August 31st 2017. She was unable to tell me where it was issued. I went on to tell her that it was impossible for me to receive a citation of a vehicle that was no longer in my possession. She then told me that the vehicle was still in my possession because it states that it wasn't returned until September 2nd. NOT THE CASE! At this point I'm angry, because now I have to deal with a bunch of idiots who can't seem to do their jobs properly. On the 2nd, I had to bring my own vehicle back to the body shop because the check tire pressure light came on. I now had to call back this location to have them change the date so that the citation charge can be lifted. At 8:46am I speak with the manager Eli who ends up being the only one who provides me with some sort of help. For 1 I was over charged for insurance, and had to be refunded for 2 days. I should have checked my statement sooner. Eli informed me that he was unable to change the date on the rental agreement so the only way to rectify this citation situation was to open a claim, and they investigate it which could take days or up to a week. Yea Eli, go ahead, and open your claim because in the mean time I will be calling up my bank, and filing a fraud case against Enterprise for an unauthorized credit charge. (Yes I opened a fraud case against them, because if that charge goes from pending to posted, they will be unhappy ducks). I was also instructed to call back the claims department, and notify them of the change which I did at 9:21am, and spoke with someone else. Now he tells me that the citation was issued at 3:55pm on August 31st. WHICH ONE IS IT HUH ENTERPRISE!? At 11:05am on January 24th, I received another call from enterprise asking me more questions about when I returned the rental, the time, and the fact that he has to file the claim. After he made his statement, I hit him with a nice little fun fact. On August 31st 2017, I received a parking ticket ON MY OWN CAR right in front of my door after RETURNING THEIR RENTAL, and picking up MY CAR. I was parked too close to a hydrant, and the ticket was issued at 2:55pm. At 11:10am I received an email from Leon, and Javier B stating that the citation was moved to them, and I was no longer responsible. My dears over at enterprise, STOP TRYING TO GET OVER ON YOUR CUSTOMERS! Someone reviewed that your workers park the rentals all over the place. Sidewalks, wrong direction etc. While there I saw it with my own eyes the way your people park the vehicles. They're very irresponsible! You people know whats going on, but instead of disciplining your employees, you try to get over on your customers. Pay y'all own shit, and stop being crooks! Charge my card again, and It'll be more than just a fraud claim for you all! THIEVES! read more

This is the worst rental experience. We're from abroad ans when trying to rent a car, our bank put a hold on our account due security reasons. We didn't have a phone to call our bank abroad, so we just left but Enterprise still charged us $250!!! We have been calling the Greenpoint location to cancel the charge but they refuse to help us since we didn't have contract in place (didn't rent the car). Now all we have is $250 charge from enterprise and no one there to help us. read more

Few things make me as mad as companies taking advantage of good [return] customers, and this Enterprise location has finally crossed the line between what I'm able to turn a blind eye to. We've rented cars from them 3 times now.. something being slightly off each time. Once, we left the lot only to discover our rear signaling light was out. Had to waste time driving back, waiting for another car to be readied. Second, we reserved a car for as soon as they opened on a Sunday, showed up early, but had to wait an additional twenty minutes because they had to fill the tires with air... we had a reservation - you knew we were coming, why did you not prepare?! I considered those things minor annoyances, but most recently, we rented a car - drove up to Albany, parked it in a hotel parking lot overnight, and drove back the next day. Upon return, someone named Jordan, told us there was a dent on the passenger door. It was barely visible, in fact, in a photo we showed to several people (also uploaded to this page)- they didn't even see anything - but that's besides the point. We explained that it was literally impossible that we were responsible for this "dent" because in the 24 hours we had this car - the only place it was left on its own and susceptible to damage was in the hotel parking lot. Which - coincidentally - our spot was near a lawn/curb so there was ZERO chance that anyone could have dinged it on the passenger side by parking next to it. We held out hope that after leaving the grubby hands of one inexperienced employee in one location, we could reason with the claims department of enterprise. That was foolish of us - we were just sent paperwork... twice - duplicates, actually - because apparently efficiency is also a weak point of this company, in addition to just being greedy & full of BS, and then we were sent a bill for $300+. No further investigation, no acknowledgement of a dispute. Total garbage way to handle everything. I will 100% be advising everyone I know to steer clear of this place, will always choose AVIS/HERTZ at all airports, and will be using Silvercar (Northside Williamsburg) for any further rentals I need from North Brooklyn. If for some reason you MUST go here, document EVERYTHING. Take a video of the walk around the car, and take pics of everything - otherwise, good luck dealing with these liars and shelling out extra money for no reason. read more

I called first to make sure that our reservation was set and that we'd meet all the requirements and the manager was super friendly over the phone. We got there and surprise surprise, we get a JEEP!! I needed extra room for speakers/luggage and thought we were gonna have to squeeze them into the trunk and backseat of a sedan, as per our OG reservation. Slow to check in, about a 15 minute wait. One person handling check ins. Once checked in, I had to wait 30+ minutes to get my car. There was a line of people waiting to get their car after check in.
