From the initial phone call to make a reservation to the drop off, everyone was friendly and helpful. The vehicle itself was quite nice by the usual truck rental standards, and included EZ Pass, which was very convenient for my brief trip to South Jersey. Tolls are billed to your credit card with an additional charge of $1.50 per instance; this is fine on the Turnpike, but might feel a little burdensome on a long Parkway trip. No hidden costs, no nonsense, and frankly quite inexpensive when compared to my expectations. There is no question whatsoever whom I will be contacting for this type of rental moving forward.

He answered all of my questions and made some recommendations about the return of the car that saved me tons of time (not arriving at a certain time when the courthouse next door is having rush hour). He helped me with car selection, got me a great vehicle, and set my mind at ease regarding the insurance coverage which I had questions about. Return was also a breeze, thanks to Johnny's advice about timing and the prompt and professional attention from the lovely Z. My family and I landed at FLL and worked with Latisha and another gentleman who were also great with our change to our initial reservation. I made a mistake in not reading all of the fine print (they did it all right - I did not see something - it was my error) and upon returning the car both Paul and Rico resolved and handled it with such kindness, understanding and total professionalism. They didn't just fix my issue when I was in a panic - they made me feel valued at National car rental throughout the entire return process. It's rare to find customer service this good, and it made a huge difference in my travel day. Because of Paul and Rico, I'll always choose National when I rent a car. The employees treat inconvenienced customers like an interruption to their day. Dropoff is its own special chaos: strict hours, and an entrance off a public road that seems deliberately designed to punish you for returning the car. Josh was there behind the counter and when he saw us (how many months later???) he smiled and gently asked "Zip Car?" There were NO cars left but there was this mini-van. We took it! And then we had to figure out how to open doors and move seats and Josh patiently showed us, even though the rental office was busy and people were on line and ok some were a bit cranky. The cost of this FANTASTIC mini-van was the same as the Zip Car. Both our neighbors and we are planning on using Alamo/National before we do Zip again. With customer service from Josh and all the folks at the counter (honestly everyone there has been so wonderful), we always get a great car at a great price and we don't ever panic or get late to a party. They repeatedly…read moreviolate the terms of my company's corporate contract and state that I need to book the car on a corporate card. My company does not have corporate cards and never has. And it says that nowhere in the contract. I always have to get our travel expense manager involved to educate the staff at the location. Secondly, George Maldonado, the manager is careless in his emails and sends emails with incorrect instructions. If you want to have a seamless trip, go to another national car location. Not this one.

Once I got to the hotel, I realized that having a car was not going to be a good idea. It is tough to park everywhere and the downtown was very walkable.... so I returned to the airport and returned the car. The Budget attendant in the garage, told me I didn't have to go inside, and to just drop the car off and I would be credited. WELL... I was not credited ANYTHING! Their fine print says if you prepay and drop the car off early, there is no credit. I didn't even have the car a few hours! THIS IS THEFT!!!
