Incredible customer service -- truly above and beyond. I had an outstanding experience with Enterprise today. I initially thought my key fob battery was dead. After replacing it and still having issues, the team didn't stop there -- they came out with another battery to try, and when that didn't solve it, they quickly pivoted and realized the car itself might be dead. Without hesitation, they sent another employee out with jumper cables and jump-started my car roadside. That level of responsiveness and problem-solving is rare. Huge shoutout to Will and his manager Josh for acting quickly, professionally, and with a genuine focus on getting the issue resolved. Chris and the rest of the team were extremely helpful and courteous - and "smart-looking" too - when I came to pick up my car. I appreciated that they accommodated my request for a Corolla, even though the only vehicle ready at the time was a Hyundai, they quickly washed the Corolla so I could take it instead. I also liked that it came with a traditional key rather than a push-button start! The only challenge I had was getting familiar with all the controls, the radio, Bluetooth connection, mirrors, and headlights, since it was a brand-new 2025 model and I hadn't rented a car since 2019. Returning the car was just as smooth. I was helped right away, and the checkout process was effortless. Will definitely be renting from this office again. I extended my reservation for an extra day til Sunday and was left a message that I listened to after you closed on Saturday that I couldn't return the car on Sunday as you were closed. Most car rental places in the city are either at the airport or downtown, so it feels like finding a diamond in the rough with this place. It's planted firmly in a neighborhood so it feels like they cater to customers like me - non-car owning city dwellers who need to get out of town for a weekend or so. Both when I picked up and returned my car they were fairly busy, so plan you schedule around having to wait a bit. I do wish they had a little better system of queueing - I sat down when I saw there was a line, but then people who came after didn't realize I was waiting for my turn and not just hanging out. The car I rented for a couple days was nothing special, but got us to the burbs and back and that's all I could really ask for. I put my return time as noon but returned it around 8am, and had no issues doing that. I will say I had left some sunglasses in the car, and they were nice enough to call me to let me know they had tagged it and put it in their lost and found. I walked back later that day and was able to pick them up. I really appreciated that, especially when I could tell they were super busy with morning returns (they had me park on a side street instead of their lot). I'm hoping this is a reflection of them being a neighborhood rental spot, and will definitely look to use them again as the holidays approach. read more

Very easy reservation process and quick customer service on day of pickup. Phone calls were answered readily when I called the office later. I did feel the pickup process was somewhat rushed and wish they had given me private time to read and review the paperwork and options. (The forms to sign were offered to me on an electronic device, with someone waiting for me to initial and move on, and while outside in cold weather, so it didn't seem particularly appropriate to read it all, as there was nowhere to sit down and they didn't offer me time to do so). I ended up having some car trouble (flat tire) and the help I received was not particularly useful. Car came with tire pump but no spare tire, so that only option I was given from roadside assistance was for a tow. (I was driving wedding party members to a wedding and we were going to be late once we pulled over, so waiting for a tow was not really an option). The information I was given on the phone wasn't particularly helpful for letting me know all my options. I wish, in hindsight, that Enterprise had spent more time during the pick up process to review what my options and costs for additional coverage was. I wasn't sure if my contract included Roadside Assistance coverage and did not remember it being offered or discussed. I would have chosen to get it, had I been explicitly offered it. Afterwards I looked it up and found that Roadside Assistance was available for $6.99 per day. read more

I began my journey at the Buck-town location and the hunt to rent a car ended with disbelief at the Lincoln Park location. The reservation was confirmed the night before and pick up time was at 7:30am. It was a 1 day rental with a plan to reach Kentucky in time to make it back and take a flight to PDX. As I walked into the Buck-town location, I overheard a customer speaking to an employee about a car rental and the employee stated there was no rentals available. The employee asked if he had a reservation and the customer confirmed it with a reservation number. He also had explained that his car was getting fixed across the street from the enterprise. He received his reserved vehicle. I was redirected to the Lincoln Park location and from there redirected to the loop location and decided to give them a call. No vehicles available and I asked if there were any locations that had available vehicles and the woman on the phone asked me to hold while she checked and said there was available vehicles in the Lincoln Park location. She asked if I wanted a sedan or an suv that was available. I chose a sedan. I asked her if she was completely sure there was anything available and she replied with a yes. The manager Brian assisted me with my reservation and asked for my license, credit card, and then confirmation number. As he began to "look it up" he said he did not have anything available for me. He stated all the vehicles were rented and the ones he had were going to have to go through some repairs(lot was full). A customer returned a vehicle and then another returned a set of multiple keys, I came back and asked to use the vehicle that was returned and the manager said it was already reserved. However, my reservation was scheduled for 10:30 am. No one was there to pick up any vehicles. The manager continued to say that he had 50 reservations ahead of me and did not know why the corporate location made a reservation for me. I asked him if he could call any other location to get me a vehicle, and he said they wouldn't answer a call coming from their location. I could say it probably would not benefit them to rent a car for a day but it's just a speculation. My experience was frustrating and a total disappointment with every redirection and not a single enterprise employee- willing to further assist me by communicating with their team members to make sure I would get a vehicle today. I assume the enterprise Locations are competing against each other since they are refusing to communicate and refer customers to locations with available vehicles. It would be best to work as a team, limit reservations to available vehicles to avoid having 50 confirmation numbers(false pre-tense) and avoid a biased selection of the individuals renting out the vehicles. I know it doesn't make sense, 50 reservations and a small lot with under 20 cars. One can only speculate.. I find the Enterprise company to be unprofessional, disorganized, but as they say, "you get what you pay for." read more

Their check-in process needs to be updated - an option to provide information ahead of time to avoid a long check-in. I did take advantage of this option because I knew in the morning at 7:30 sharp, I had very limited time due to morning obligations, work, etc. When I arrived to check in, I had to provide an auto insurance card and a utility bill. Both items are required when you're using a debit card for the rental deposit. Note: bills cannot be past due more than a hundred dollars. It was a setback scrambling last minute through my phone - managing, grasping, searching for a bill, then to email it to the counter person. Luckily I located a photo of my insurance card and bill on my phone. If I couldn't have provided this information I would've been turned away and I would've lost a day of pay. I encourage them to expand their quick check in requirements prior to arrival. That's fine if you need additional documentation... Just give people ample time to be proactive and provide for you what is required.. You can add to bring documentation with you for review at check in. But to ask at the counter last minute... is totally unacceptable and makes the Customer's experience frustrating, annoying, and discouraging. read more

The manager is all knowing and a little pompous. He wouldn't let me use a friends and family discount that myself and many friends have used for years. I mentioned I had a few codes that my friend provided and possibly put in the wrong one. He was quite confident that it was impossible because a friends and family discount doesn't exist. So, I asked how much it would be without the discount. When I said "No," he said "I figured you wouldn't." Turns out GEICO just changed the policy. But, homeboy seemed to know that this program never existed. Without providing any assistance. His answers to my questions were curt. Super unfriendly. Super unhelpful. Picking up my car for the Thanksgiving holiday was much easier than I expected, and the lady helping us (Kat) was really knowledgeable and upfront about everything. Car was clean and in great condition, so we had no issues there. We planned to return the car Monday, but given the incoming snowstorm, we decided to try and make it back before the 1pm close time on Sunday. It was a few minutes after, but the staff guy (husband didn't catch his name) was really accommodating and let us drop off - so wonderful! A great experience overall! read more

10 degrees and snowing, my husband walks the 8 or 9 blocks to Enterprise to rent a small car for 24 hours. He only has a debit card...which they won't accept without copies of bills and who carries those with them?...so I walk over with my credit card. All is well until they discover I didn't change my last name. Both the guy and his manager refuse to budge from "policy" so we leave without the car. I was very satisfied until I got the final bill. If not for that this would have been a 5 star review. Booked my rental via Hotwire, got a great deal and have been very happy with Enterprise in the past. Very disappointed with Enterprise today. They upsold me on pre-paying for tolls. I was told it was $10. $10 for all three days I asked? Yes, the person insisted it was a great deal I said that does sound like a good deal. No, it was $10 PER DAY and I only went thru maybe 3 toll roads total on days 1 & 3, which would have cost me $14 in cash total instead of the $30 I was charged. They also tried to upsell me on pre-paying for gas but I knew to decline that. Very annoyed that my lack of complete knowledge about tolls in Chicago cost me extra $$. Also I was charged an addtl. $10.33 in taxes that was not disclosed ahead of time. The agent I spoke to on the toll-free # today told me to complain to Hotwire about the taxes not being disclosed and then hung up on me. I had paid Hotwire $61.23 in taxes and fees so why there were addtl. $$ charged at Enterprise I have yet to determine. Disappointed and annoyed. read more

The staff were nice enough but clearly very stressed at pick up. However, that process was flawless and very fast. The car, though, is disgusting. It reeks of cigarettes and is full of ash, crumbs, spills and even a receipt from the previous renter on the passenger seat floor so I know they didn't even TRY to minimally clean. I have had to vaccumm myself, drive with the windows open and spray for smell. Yuck. I've had a headache all week thanks to the smell. Thanks enterprise! I will update review when I see my bill. Updated -Manager called me and traded cars. I was annoyed that I wasn't comped the time spent driving to and from the place in the middle of my rental period but overall I was satisfied with the response. You guys. This place. This beautiful car rental place. Is nothing short of a DREAM. Why else would I literally spend the time to write a review.. on a CAR rental company. Like, why even bother- it's a car rental, not a restaurant or a bar or a salon. These type of places are pretty transactional in nature. I never thought a real human could have such a positive, emotional experience when renting a car - until apparently now? So whatever, here it goes. Imagine with me for a second... you're about to leave for a New Year's Eve trip to Michigan with friends. You booked the house months ago. It was the light at the end of the tunnel to a month of ridiculously long hours at work. Finally, a trip away with your favorite people! But then, your personal car decides to stop working the minute you're about to get on the highway. You can't leave. You have a headache. Your friend in the back seat just spilled hot coffee on his crotch. At this point, I wanted to rip open the booze we packed in the trunk prematurely. I was just about to throw in the towel when... Enterprise happened. Within minutes of booking a rental last minute online, we walked into the store and had a car to drive within 60 seconds of checking in. They didn't try to sell me something I didn't need and they DID NOT give me the good ole, "You SURE you don't want to buy this extra $50/day insurance in case you total another person's car and crash into a restaurant and find yourself homeless because you can't pay it?" script. And get this: the crazy-cheap amount I was quoted online was the amount I ended up paying in store! No hidden fees - what the what?! Do you know how many times I rented a car online from Hertz and wound up paying $70 extra on God knows what?! And had to deal with long lines and slow personnel to boot? And the best part wasn't just that this Enterprise location was fast and incredibly efficient- the staff was also just... likeable. They were just, like... smart, cool people. They didn't appear to hate their jobs or hate me for simply walking through the door (unlike other companies I've been to). They just wanted to get you in and out so that you can go about your freakin day. I didn't have to sign 10 different forms, I didn't have to fight about not wanting insurance, I didn't have to be threatened about prepaying for gas. It was just a truly magical experience all around, which is rare to say when that experience lasted about 2 minute total - from pick up to the drop off. And yeah, they only have one entrance to their parking lot but honestly wtf who freaking cares. The car worked great. We got to our house in Michigan. We rang in the new year. We drank the booze mentioned earlier. We still had a headache afterward, but it wasn't because of the car situation, which is all I could ever want to begin with. I could not be pleased. read more

Enterprise promotes itself as a rental company that picks you up and it's a service I always liked. They be picked me up and dropped me off in the past. So I was really disappointed on Labor Day weekend when one of the staff guys there said they don't drop people off on weekends. If that's the case, I should be told that up front when renting so I can prepare. No buses were running in the area. I had to ague before he finally got someone to drop me off as if he's doing me a favor. I also didn't like his tone telling me to take note of this for next time. I don't recall his name but it was Saturday, around noon, sept 5. Looked like some prep college student. Tried to pick up the card. Said I couldn't use the card. Said that since I was under 25 they have a policy about not having the proper insurance for cars. WTF. Don't people rent cars because they DON'T have a car in the first place? Told that person that was at the desk that I just rented from them in April. He said, "Miss that is simply impossible." Probably the best car rental experience I've had. Everything went smoothly. All of the people I interacted with were friendly. It's a pretty small lot, so it seems like their selection could be hit and miss depending on the time of day and what you reserve. Fortunately for me they were very accommodating when the vehicle size I reserved was unavailable. We have had many good experiences at this location and the staff is always very friendly. However, this is the second time we have had major issues with picking up a car. The first time we rented a car and they called to say they were overbooked. We were set to pick up the car in the morning, and they said it could be after noon if at all. We just cancelled the reservation. The second time we reserved a car at 8:30a on a Saturday, and ended up waiting 2 hours with a room full of other people waiting as well. When we got the it was dirty and smelled like feet, but we were in no position to complain as we needed the car. I understand this is a busy time, but if you don't have cars to rent, do not allow people to choose earlier times. This is very disheartening to anyone trying to keep a schedule. Zero cars for a room full of at least 10 people is unacceptable. read more

We needed a small car made a reservation and when we went to pick it up the only car they had available was a van. We took it because we needed to get around. We asked for a smaller car and after a few days were able to switch for a midsize that we parked in our garage the same they we picked it up, but when we tried to start it in the morning the battery was dead. We called them and a guy named Ryan( who did not want to give me his last name for some reason and said he did not have a supervisor because he was the manager of the facility), decided to blame us for the problem and tried to charge us for sending help. He said we had to call some number but unfortunatelly our cell was almost out of batteries. We beg him to call and after a while of going back and forth he connected us with some other company that ended up charging us for the service. Because our insurance was covering our rental up to $50 a day they wanted to give us the most expensive car!!!! Okay Ryan, you did a great job for your company. We wont go back to Enterprise and will tell all our friends to avoid renting from you. I will escalate this complain to the top. read more
