Highly do not recommend this place. I love Enterprise, but not this location. Cancel your reservation a day before a move, you scramble to find another vehicle, they promise you one. You show up 30 min early to ensure all on time and still wait 2 hours "for your car to arrive." That's what a reservation is for! To ensure the car is waiting! Then when you go to pick up your car they claim you did not answer when they called to confirm and therefore do not have a car for you. Tilted up to 4 stars because of the location and excellent customer service. It's located half a block from the auto body shop I took my car to after I got into an accident. Olivia, the assistant manager, was super helpful with my claim that was being paid for by State Farm. She called on my behalf and got the authorization that I needed. The car was decent but a little messy. Luckily in the midst of a pandemic, I carry wipes so I made sure the interior was good to go. Enterprise is affiliated with National so I also earned points. What grinded me at the end was that I was waiting for a car for 90 minutes.....got to the point where I asked how much longer it was going to be, told the agent I was there 90 minutes and she tried to correct me and tell me I wasn't right. This was basically a scene from a Tyler Perry movie and quite possibly the strangest experience I've ever had picking up a rental car. The driver picked me up from the auto body shop, but she thought I was a white lady outside on her phone. She interrupted the conversation I was having with a front desk attendant to get the order and speedwalked out. The front desk people had to tell her I was the car owner so she'd slow down. I didn't even realize she was from Enterprise because the way she walked in was like she was a customer waiting on her car. I still tried to be open-minded. But the rest of the ride was even more unique. The driver: * blasted the most vulgar hip-hop music at top volume without ever asking me was I cool with the station she was playing * when the music bleeped out curse words, she said them loudly * cursed nonstop in pretty much everything she said to me * paused the music long enough to explain to me why the car next to her needed to fix his sound system (I did not ask nor care) * laid on her horn when a car got in front of her, screaming about "northside drivers" * swerved forward to get the driver who cut in front of her's attention (kinda don't blame her for that) * complained about getting messages on her phone WHILE CHECKING HER phone and driving * told me all about how early she got up and why she was so tired (I never asked and she did not seem the least bit tired) * started doing a booty popping dance to the same terrible rappers on the song I finally just pulled out my phone and tried to zone out answering emails and texts. Longest 15 minutes ever. I was ready to get out of the car so much that I had my seat belt off and accidentally locked myself in while trying to get out. She was not mean at all. She was actually quite bubbly, just unprofessional as hell! I was an Uber/Lyft/Via driver for a couple of months (long enough to do 100+ rides). I immediately created a "Spotify customer playlist" and saved my most ratchet non-mumble-rap songs for car rides alone! The manager at the branch (Bre'Shey) was really professional though. She answered all of my questions patiently, was friendly, warm and efficient. She did such a good job showing off which SUVs I could rent until my car was repaired that she made me ponder on whether I wanted to own another vehicle. (I LOVED the SUV I was given.) Bre'Shey was night and day from the driver. Both were nice but one clearly had no idea she was "at work." I knew when I returned this car that I was just going to take the bus or an Uber/Lyft/Via back because I was not having another Tyler Perry movie scene. When I came to get my car, I heard somebody loudly talking to one of the auto body people. He looked like he was coming to pick up a car. All I could think was "Tyler Perry Part 2." I couldn't be happier to have my car back, but I will miss the rental I had. read more

I don't know where to start about my experience with Enterprise. I rented a seven passenger van for July 12th through the 16th. The only thing that went well was the initial pick up of the vehicle from O'hare airport. I rented a seven passenger van only to find out at the toll booth by a state trooper that the plates were expired. Well needless to say I went to swap out the vehicle along the way to my destination which was a big inconvenience, only to find out that there were no cars until the next day. I was given a Toyota Corolla, the manager Chris at enterprise at Buffalo Niagara airport was very rude and didn't really want to swap out the vehicle. I was traveling with four adult men which is why I reserved a seven passenger van. Once again another inconvenience. I called the corporate office to complain about the issue and to be compensated for their error and the inconvenience. I was told my rental would be of no charge. I still have yet to see the charges reversed. I was lied to by the manager Luke at the enterprise in O'hare airport. He informed me that he would take care of it and I'm still waiting. I don't understand what the issue is, this wasn't my fault and I shouldn't have to pay for it. What if I had gotten into an accident with the registration being expired!! And today is July 28th and no one has tried to call me to fix my charges or to even apologize. This is a million dollar company with such poor customer service. read more

I went to pick up a car, and handed the agent my ID and my spouses credit card (which I used to reserve, hold an authorization AND pay for a rental 3 weeks ago over Thanksgiving... 3 times no name check on the card). The agent told me I could only use a card in my name, and I said well I used this exact card 3 weeks ago when your assistant manager checked me in and it wasn't a problem. I also told her that I was an authorized signer on the card, I just didn't have "my" card on me because I had just come from my personal car at work that had gotten a flat tire this morning and I was rushing to enterprise in an uber so I wouldn't be late for my scheduled 12pm pickup. She went back into the managers office and shortly came back out to tell me her manager said "that's our policy". So I said "Well then what am I supposed to do? It is the day before Christmas Eve and I am supposed to drive home to be with family." And she said unless I have a credit card with my name on it I can't rent the car. I asked "what happens in these situations when an assistant manager is the one who permitted it the first time?". That assistant manager was standing right next to the agent helping me, so I said "Shes the one". The assistant manager walked away and didn't say a word, and didn't even try to hide the smirk on her face because clearly she thought this was funny. Not even an apology for the inconvenience. Nothing. Zip doo dah. Even worse, the branch manager in the office never came out to help. You would think when you have an audibly frustrated customer in your busy office, you would come out to see what you can do. Maybe take a little ownership and try to help correct the issue and furthermore help your associate! I also want to mention that clearly this location has issues with their reservation taking ability, because both times I have rented from this location, I got a different type of car than what I actually made the reservation for. Bottom line is, I can totally understand if you have a company policy. But the lack of decent customer service is why I definitely will not be renting from enterprise again. Let's say you need a ride for... 5 girls 5 suitcases 1 dog 10 bottles of wine and... a bunch of fall boots. Well, compact sized vehicles of said girls will not suffice, and an SUV is in order. After Amanda C ran the price test all 'round town, this Enterprise came up $20 cheaper (per day!) than other locations (mainly downtown). So, a northside locale...perfection, let's roll this thing bitches. I mean, not literally...poor choice of words when speaking of an SUV, I suppose. Pick up: smooth -a 2010 Chevy Terrain (mid-size SUV)....and it was pretty new, only a few thousand miles. Very clean. Process took approx 15 minutes. I parked my car easily on Western Ave, but I'm pretty sure leaving it in their lot would've been a better bet. Regardless, pish posh...my real car also survived. 3 whole days (pick up Friday, drop off Monday): total cost with damage insurance: around $200. A fabulous time with my friends, non-cramped...and a doggie in the back with the suitcases for good measure. All were returned safe and sound, and it was a much smoother ride. :) read more

Two car-less city-folk need to get to Peoria for a wedding. Enter, Enterprise. Boyfriend made the reservation online* and everything was smooth-as-silk at pick-up. Brian, the manager on duty, was very helpful and patient with two people who don't generally drive and were unclear on which insurance option was best. We got a red Ford Focus - perfect for 2 people with 1 night of luggage each. The car was clean (freshly washed!) and we were good to go in a matter of minutes. While they are closed on Sunday, we were able to return the car before 10AM (the time at which we "checked out" the car on Saturday) and only be charged for 2 days (rather than 3)**. * Note to debit-card users: Read the fine print. You need to bring in extra proof of address to use debit rather than credit. No huge thing, as Brian was super-flexible with us (non-fine print readers), but just so you know. ** You can also rent cars by the hour! Good to know. read more

Being that I live so darn close to this Enterprise and that I work with Enterprise as a concierge, I have used this location several times. It has always been a fairly quick experience (which I really appreciate). The guys are friendly..and even pretty cute, ladies! I can't speak to the rates as I get "the hookup", but I have always found Enterprise to have nicely competitive rates. For me, though, it's all about location, location, location! read more

Tried to tell me I owed for gas even though I returned it with a quarter tank, the same amount I received it with. Also, a rude, psychotic woman named Leah yelled at me over the phone about returning the rental car. This was after she called my parents phone number looking for me, even though she already had my phone number. She screamed at me and hung up on me. Not sure why she's so angry, maybe having a bad day. This experience was made even worse, if that's possible, when her supervisor met me in the garage and began ranting and raving about the situation. Oh and the rental car was dirty when I received it too. Yuk. Steer clear of this place unless you bring a bottle is Xanax with you for the employees. They seem very unhappy. Ghastly service and the cars are worse. I'm not choosey about cars, just put me in one that runs and I'm happy. Unfortunately, after about 20 minutes, the car wouldn't even start. The girl at the office said they were too busy to arrange to pick me up or to tow the car, so it was up to me to get it back. Not only did they not credit that day like they said they would, they charged me for the repair! I was really frustrated by the whole drawn out experience, made worse by the staff who kept "forgetting" to reverse the charge. What a dishonest group of people. A couple of calls to the corporate office in the suburbs cleared it up, and they did give by money back for the repair and the extra day, but I was still left with an astronomical bill for regular services, as well as a lot of frustration. read more

Take your business elsewhere as the employees here are lacking some common decency. I live nearby and walk by it almost every day. This morning a rental car was parked in their drive way, making it impossible to pass with daughter in her stroller. I had to take my daughter out, try to safely carry her over two snow banks and into the street to get by. I then was able to knock on the window and ask if they could move the car. The woman working the desk said they had no keys. Then her and three other employees watched me as I had my daughter stand by the front window and go back and struggle to haul our jogging stroller over a snow bank, into the street and another giant snow bank to get by. No I'm sorry, no can I help you, no acknowledgement of the situation. It was appalling and embarrassing. If you do need a rental car in the area, try the Hertz up the road. read more

Meh, in general, I still can't get over how much it costs to rent a car for five days or so, but that's not exactly the fault of Enterprise. Regardless, after some horrible experiences with Budget Rental further up on Western, I decided to take my business to Enterprise on Western for now on (about three week-long rentals a year.) I dunno, I actually haven't a thing to complain about. I never had bad service and I love their whole "pick you up, drop you off." Granted, the awkward conversation is a little uncomfortable when getting a ride (I can't imagine the employees love the generic chit-chat, either), it's quick and beyond convenient. To add, 9 of 10 times, I get very new cars. I always do the cheapest option, but for my limited driving, I certainly can't complain. Thanks, all! read more

WORST RENTAL PLACE. . A rental was arranged by my auto body shop and was supposed to be waiting for me at the auto body shop. 8am arrived - no car. 2 others had same arrangement. Body shop called Enterprise-said customer line was out the door. Shop drove us to car rental place. Got there, 1 kid there behind counter, doors locked, had to go in thru garage door. Finally buzzed in. Place was empty. We're told no paperwork was there, had to put $500 deposit down or contact our insurance agents. WRONG. KID WAS A TRAINEE - BOTH MANAGERS ON VACATION. I WALKED HOME. Felt bad for the kid put in that position by INEPT MANAGERS. WILL NEVER RENT FROM ENTERPRISE AGAIN. read more

From the moment You step in you'll likely begin what's horrible customer service. Two people working, only one at the front desk, on what is supposedly one of their busiest days. Front desk woman is rude and couldn't care less to acknowledge you when you walk in, to work expeditiously --let alone effectively-- plus she acts as if you're putting her out by asking questions. I constantly rent cars from this location - it's close to the Western brown line, so that's very convenient. The customer service is top notch. I always get a call the day before my rental just to confirm if and when I'm picking up the car. Everyone who works there is friendly and accommodating, and the cars are always clean and new (I've never gotten anything older than a 2014 model). Side note: they close early (at noon) on Saturdays, so keep that in mind when renting! And they are closed on Sundays as well. read more

Have to dispute it -- what a pain! and what awful customer service and treatment! I have no problem paying a toll my transponder missed, but they want to charge me $10 to pay a $1.50 toll ?!?!?!?! This is more of a review of Enterprise in General-but this is the location that I have rented from the most. Generally this a an okay location. The Manager is kinda of not all that with it and really should learn how to deal with customers. Once I returned the car at 5:30PM, they close at 6. I asked for a ride home. He said "Oh sorry it too close to closing time" Then right then and there the Tornado Sirens went off and a thunderstorm hit. I said "Um I can't walk a mile and half home in a Tornado or wait for the bus." He finally did take me home but complained about it. I thought the corporate motto was "We'll come pick you up" Another time they stranded me on the Indiana Turnpike with a blown tire for days-I had to pay to get it fixed myself. This most recent time-was weird. I reserved a car online. I got home and there was an voice mail for me asking me to call the branch to tell them whether or not I was really going to rent a car and that I should call them to tell them if I really mean to rent the car. Um If I reserved it online then I am going to rent the CAR. Don't BOTHER ME. So I go in, get the car. It was an Chevy HHR. I have never driven one before. I drove off and almost got hit on Western Ave, I could not see out the back window. Bad car. Drove it back. The manager said sorry we don't have any more cars and asked me what was wrong. I explained that I could not see out the back. He asked me not to "say anything" because the people standing next to me where going to rent the same car. I was not throwing a fit, or swearing, I was nice and calm just asking can I please have a different car? I am thinking "Buddy you need to learn how customer service works" If one customer complains to you don't tell them to shut up, you deal with them. So he said they have no other cars-can I wait two hours? I said no I have to go to work. He said sorry we can't help you. My husband said can't we get one from another location? So he then handed me a piece of paper with other location numbers and asked ME to call the other locations to see if they had a car. I said "no you do it" He said "well as a favor to you I will call one" As a FAVOR? Seriously? So he calls one downtown. They can give us a car. We drive the HHR down there and they give me a subcompact. I paid for a intermediate. They say that is all they have. Now I have to drive this thing 7 hours to Ohio. It was TINY and not a safe car. I get back to my office-I am now two hours late for work. I call corporate and ask them to help me figure this out. I said can you call the locations or look on your computer and find a location with the right size car that I paid for and have someone bring it to me? I can't leave work until after you close. Here is what she said. "No. It is like you went to one McDonald's and did not like your hamburger and walked into another McDonald's and asked for them to make you a new one." Seriously Enterprise? You are comparing yourself to McDonald's. She then said-you have to take the car back to where you got it. I said I can't go back up to Western Ave- I am now downtown at work. I can't leave, and I have to drive this car out of town tonight. I said no YOU call Western Ave and call me back with an answer. She said the same thing that the manager said at Western. "Well I will do this favor for you." FAVOR? I just spend 200 dollars on your product which is not what I paid for. So she called back and said there is nothing we are going to do for you. You have call all the locations in Chicago and find another car yourself. So I called a few-nothing. I called O'hare-the manager was very nice but had nothing for me. I then called Ace rent a car at O'hare-reservered another car. Since O'hare Enterprise is open until 1AM, at 7PM after work I drove out to O'Hare gave Enterprise their car back and rented from Ace. This is something Chicagoans must know. If you live in Chicagoland, the Enterprise at O'hare will NOT rent you a car. They have a new policy-NO LOCALS. The trouble is that the in the city locations are woefully short of cars, so if you can't get a car in the city, you can't go out to O'hare, where they have more cars and get one either. This is the dumbest thing I have ever heard of. Even my family-who live in Des Plaines by Enterprise could not rent a car at the O'hare location without a PLANE TICKET. This has nothing to do with safety or TSA, but to do with what one manager told me, that the O'hare location does not want to deal with local people who don't know how to rent cars. Huh? Since when does a person who is renting a car, not know "how" to rent a car. Enterprise corporate is a horrid company. Their call center is run by very young people who have no clue. read more

I have always used Enterprise both for quick "car repair" rentals and vacations, however after my experience at this office, I will never rent from them again. They were both unprofessional and rude. Buying a house is easier than renting a car from this place. Aside from the "extra paperwork" I had to fill out, they were pushy about the insurance, they questioned me about where I live and why I was renting from their office, and they continuously had private conversations while looking back at me. Worst rental experience ever. My plane landed in Chicago due to a mechanical problem and I chose to drive 2 hours to my destination instead of wait another 12 hours for a flight. I called my destination Enterprise location to transfer my reservation. When I got to the counter at Enterprise Chicago, Jason, the representative, handed me a bottle of water and I thought we were off to a good start. Boy, was I wrong. He then redid my reservation spelling my name NERDith instead of Meredith. We walked outside to my compact car, toting my suitcase and carryon. It was freezing rain and windy. But Jason, the Enterprise rep, was destined to up sell me. Instead of the compact, which I was completely happy with; Jason suggested a minivan, because I was "a woman". In my chilled, shocked state, I declined. After spending a good 20 minutes outside in the horrid weather reviewing my upgrades, I agreed to take a beat up HHR. Since there was a 'storm coming' I needed a larger vehicle to get me through the weather. Excuse me? I'm from Detroit. I can handle snow and rain. Then Jason said it was required of me to get the optional insurance. I explained to him that I did not need this because my employer has insurance for me. He told me I was wrong. At this point, I was exhausted, wet and cold. I took the keys and was on my way. As soon as I confirmed the insurance was a myth, I called Enterprise. They eventually took the insurance off, but said I should be lucky because I got a 'free upgrade'. I also reported Jason's behavior, to which the manager replied 'but you got a free upgrade'. read more

I made a million changes to my reservation. Originally, it was for an intermediate car at $37.99/day. After I changed the date so many times, I did not notice that the rate nearly doubled. Brian noticed, and he also adjusted the rate to reflect my corporate discount. When he came to pick me up from my home, he told me he made an adjustment and now I was paying the original amount. He was very professional. They were very busy that morning, and he got me in and out fast and on my way, in a nice Mitsubishi. When I dropped my car off, they gave me a ride back home, free ! read more

I'm surprised at the many bad reviews for this location. I've always had good customer service, short waits, decent staff. I rent almost weekly for work and have not had one bad experience. They even accommodated when I had to switch to an insurance rental without having to physically go in. I'll keep using this location for sure. My only issue is that they close at 6pm (sharp) and don't have an after hours drop off but it doesn't cost more if it's within 24 hours for the next day drop. read more
