A lot can improve here. They had me on hold for over 2 hours. I ended up going there and I had to wait over 2 hours before a car was ready. They ran my debit card as credit without asking resulting in me being unable to get the rental because they did the transaction wrong. I kept being told my card is a prepay card and my bank is not FDIC insured which is not true. I confirmed with the bank on speaker that the transaction was repeatedly ran as a credit card instead of debit. Outside of that, there aren't enough seats for long waits causing others to stand for long periods, sit in the foyer on the floor, etc. I ended up going to the Enterprise on Garners Ferry which was so much better customer service wise and got a rental. I don't recommended the Greystone location to anyone. read more

I have been renting cars from this place since July using my debit card and today I go in to pick up my reserved car and they tell me l can't get the car without a major credit card, mind you l have been using my debit card the whole time, the guy was rude and didn't want to hear what l had to say so l called corporate and they said that they still take debit cards. I'd been told by my insurance company after an accident that Enterprise would be my rental service and that I would have a car ready for me. When I called that morning before checkout, I was the rep--I think it was Isaiah or Jeremiah--that I was staying at a hotel two doors down; first he told me he didn't have anything for me, and then told me he would find out and call me back. I had to call back to get him again and asked if There was a car. He said, 'yes' but that I would have to get there myself to get my rental because they didn't have enough staff to pick people up on weekends, which completely goes against the Enterprise motto: "We'll pick you up". Ironically, I kept hearing this on their radio ads before I got left the hotel. When I got there, there were four other employees walking around so I'm PRETTY sure they had enough staff! Even the hotel staff where I was staying thought it was a travesty that they couldn't pick me up. It was TWO BUILDINGS AWAY. IT WAS 100+ degrees outside! There were no sidewalks there. I had to leave my son at the hotel to watch my luggage because we'd already checked out and it took way too long because they said my card didn't work when, in fact, it is somewhat problematic at times. Then I was told I should plug in my own card number--I'd NEVER had to do that before at ANY store--and my credit card was still declined even though I still had money on it. After I got my car, this tall woman who retrieved my car--Rosie?--asked me what was wrong because I looked tired and I told her about the accident here while out of town and that I had to walk to them to get the car. She was very hospitable. She exclaimed, "We COULD have given you a ride!" I only give two stars because SHE was wonderful but the rest of the employees seemed pretty incompetent. My experience DEFINITELY could have been better. I sure hope they're able to drive me to my car service station when I return, especially since it's the weekday. I'm coming from the DC area so this is no small feat. read more

It's clear to me that the Enterprise Rental location on Greystone Blvd. (Columbia, SC) works very hard to stay at the top of their game. Many months ago, I reported that my experience there didn't quite meet my expectations, but I now believe that perhaps it was just an "off" day. The Staff works as quickly as possible while still providing courteous and accurate service. Future customers: Please realize that certain times of the day are going to be busier than others for your pickup or dropoff (e.g. an half-hour before closing). But you'll be pleased, as I was, that the lines move right along. Providing their particular service to the public--7 days a week at this location--can't always be easy. Keep that in mind when you're renting the day before a holiday. I'm aware that it takes something special for the team to remain diligent and courteous during rush-hour, and I'm impressed with their performance. If you're a local resident, accessing this location is likely to be easier than it would be at CAE Airport. Please give it a try. I believe you'll choose to come back again. The van i got for our family trip was great, but the manager took my deposit because he said it smelled like cigarettes. I don't even smoke cigarettes so how I miss the smell. I've heard of them doing this before, they say that so they can pocket your deposit. I would not use them again nor would refer anyone to them. That's flat out stealing!!!!!!!!! I rent cars here all the time because my company has an account. Multiple times I've been given disgusting cars with stained seats and or bad smells. I then refuse the car and demand another. Also, if I have an 8 am appointment I want my car at 8. I have free upgrades and never receive my upgrade! read more

This place is very unhelpful. I came with a reservation and I called ahead of time to notify them of me getting a vehicle. They said the Camaro was available and that hey would reserve it for me. But when I arrived 20 minutes later, they had given the car that was promised to me away. And their attitudes were so rude. It was a black female with short hair with the worst attitude ever. I recently had to have my engine replaced and the dealership where my car was has an account here. My car was in the shop for 45 days and I had a rental from here. They gave me a brand new 2017 Kia Sportage. I loved the car so much until I really hated getting my car back. The customer service is wonderful. They call to check on you to make sure the vehicle is working properly. If I needed to rent a car, I would definitely choose them! read more

First of all, I called the Enterprise 800 Number and made my reservation for a "FULL" sized vehicle. Confirmed that a "FULL" sized vehicle is considered a Toyota Camry. I also confirmed that my reservation was set at $144 for the entire length of my rental. I called the pickup location 24 hrs. in advance for a 9:AM pickup as I had a schedule to follow on my trip. The day of rental, nobody showed up by 9:20 AM so I called them and they forgot to pick me up. So I had to wait until almost 9:50 to be picked up. When I arrive to rent my "FULL" sized vehicle, they guy behind the counter say's "We have a lovely Prius for you to rent." I told him I refuse to accept a Prius as a "FULL" sized vehicle. I demanded a manager who comes over and states, and I quote, "A Prius is a full sized vehicle to us... Now if you want to upgrade to our SUV for $5 more... We can set that up for you..." I told him he knows damn well I will not be comfortable in a Prius as I am a bigger man and he is baiting and switching on me because he knows I'll have no choice but to upgrade. I was already late and expressed my displeasure but I'll take the SUV @ $5 more increase per day because I had to go. The agent cancels my original reservation and THEN he states, there will also be an additional charge which brings my rental up to $425. I freaked out. I told him I wanted my original reservation back and I wanted my Toyota Camry as promised. They stated "That reservation is gone and there is nothing we can do to get it back. It has been erased from the system because I agreed to the upgrade. I told him YES, at $5 additional per day... Not jack me up $300 additional. This was ridiculous. Even people on line behind me that I have never met before in my life were screaming at the switch they were trying to pull on me. It wasn't right. I demanded my original reservation back and was dialing corporate to get it back. My hands were shaking and I couldn't breathe because of what they were trying to pull. Once he (The Manager) heard I really was calling corporate, he begged me to hang up and he would honor the $5 a day increase for the SUV as promised. I told him he needed to write it up before I hung up the phone. He wrote that up so fast, you would think it was his paycheck riding on it. I am amazed how they think they can get away with all the Bait and Switch. It is a huge displeasure how he tried to take advantage of me because of my size and knows I wouldn't be comfortable in a Prius. Which by the way is listed right on the corporate web site as a "COMPACT ECONO CAR" NOT a FULL SIZED VEHICLE. I do not blame Enterprise Corporate for this situation... Only the Rental Location in Columbia on 320 Graystone Blvd. He knew he was doing the wrong thing when he honored the original deal once I got corporate on the phone. He hopped like he was on fire. I only feel bad for the people that don't know how to stand up for themselves and fight for whats right. They must take advantage of a lot of people at this location to try and get away with it so easily. Shame on them. I'm not saying I won't rent from Enterprise again... I just WILL NOT go back to that location. read more

I have always used Enterprise rental cars for the past 10+ years for all my rental needs. I recently rented a vehicle and was told that a certain payment option would be perfectly fine to pay with, actually I was told multiple times by multiple representatives at this location. After bringing the vehicle back I was told that paying with a credit card over the phone was not allowed. After hearing this I was infuriated! These clowns lied to my face, and not just one of the employees. I was forced to use a different form of payment which would ultimately make me have to default on my current bills because I had to use my debit card. When asking the rep. why I was told differently by multiple reps. at this location I got a blank stare. Seriously? I get a blank look like I am mentally retarded. After getting extremely irritated and walking out the door before I ended up in jail I did the mature thing and called the corporate office. I was told the Regional Manager would call me back within a day and that they were so sorry about this incident. As expected, I was not contacted back within a day. This company is terrible and lies to their customers. I am not sure if the problem was the lack of education on policy and procedures that the employees possess or the fact that they just enjoy making their customers have financial burdens over their mistakes. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS LOCATION TO MY WORST ENEMY. IT IS DISGUISED AS A NICE ENVIRONMENT AND THE EMPLOYEES ACT LIKE THEY CARE ABOUT YOU, IF THE EMPLOYEE CARED ABOUT MY SITUATION HE WOULD HAVE AT LEAST ASKED A MANAGER OR CONTACTED SOMEBODY TO HELP COMFORT OR AT LEAST FIX THEIR POOR MISTAKE. I WILL NEVER RENT FROM THEM AGAIN AND WILL INFORM EVERY PERSON I KNOW OR HEAR THAT IS GOING TO GIVE THEM BUSINESS. WORD OF MOUTH IS THE BEST ADVERTISEMENT AND THIS COMPANY WILL HAVE SOME TERRIBLE ADVERTISEMENT IN THE COLUMBIA AREA! SINCERELY, A LIED TO DISGRUNTLED CUSTOMER Update: the manager contacted me profusely apologizing for his employees behavior and was one of the nicest, most genuine people I have talked too. He was great with offering me a free rental and apologizing non stop. I would rent from them again (and not even because of the free vehicle) because of how he handled the situation. I guess you cannot judge the whole business off of 2 teammates not caring and leaving the company. Great management team! If you have any problems speak with the manager he is a great guy! read more

Good service, not so great cars. They rented me a car that was in serious need of an oil change and had a tire pressure light on. After being picked up in that exact same car, I thought they knew about the warning lights. I called later to confirm it was ok to drive and got the response of yes. I later broke down with a flat tire in a parking lot. Luckily, someone had a tire pump so no harm done. I just wish I was told to bring that specific car back instead of it being an option for me to do so. read more

I've rented from this location before with a corporate account and didn't experience too many problems... This time around I was renting through my auto insurance company and it was a fiasco from the start! The employees kept wanting to maximize my insurance policy's daily max by putting me in oversized or too sporty cars. Dude, I wrecked a minivan - I don't need an Expedition or Nissan 370Z... The first vehicle smelled like urine after sitting in the hot South Carolina sun for a few hours! When I told the front desk people this, they just looked at me... Eventually I switched to another Enterprise location after getting fed up over the poor customer experience and perpetual "lack of inventory" that suited my long-term rental needs. Overall, I was extraordinarily disappointed and will make every effort not to rent from the Greystone branch. read more

I originally had a reservation for Saturday, June 11; they didn't have any vehicles in stock, so I changed it to the next day. I did get into a car, it worked well, and the process was generally painless (although I'm willing to bet there's some sort of incentive attached to selling the extra insurance, because they were pushing that pretty aggressively). When I attempted to return the vehicle on Saturday, June 18 I found a sign informing me that as of that very day they would be closing at 2:00pm on Saturdays. I was a little upset about the wasted trip and thought that it wouldn't have been that difficult to call people to inform them of the change (or perhaps even mention it when we rented the car in the first place). I returned the vehicle the following day, and while the guy was looking it over he told me it looked like my charges would be about $117. I mentioned my attempt to return the day before and he assured me that he would knock off that extra day for me. I assumed he did, but for some reason my final charges were $196 for the rental. I can understand if the weekly rate is cheaper than the daily rate, so if that's the case mentioning it would have been nice. I've always used Enterprise for my car rental needs and I've never had such a poor experience. I will never use this location again. read more

I had a great overall experience at the location. I was acknowledged as soon as I walked in the door and it only took about 10 minutes for me to get in the car. I would have given 5 stars however, there was an indicator light on referencing the front passenger tire, saying the pressure was at zero. I walked back in and one of the reps came out to look and told me that the car had recently been serviced and the light just had not cleared. I was traveling to TN and would have definitely liked to not have to worry about the light. I stopped more times than not to look at the tire and considered changing cars at another location. The tire really was properly running and I had no problems, but I feel like the car should have been "ready - light cleared and all" before renting it. I will say that they did try to assure me that I would not have a problem and I did not. Would definitely rent from this location again. read more
