Had a rental car reservation which they had confirmed and they did not have a car to rent to me. Awful! Unreliable if you need a rental car. They said people didn't return cars and extended them and cars came back broken for service. Customer service is great. Workers are kind and fun to talk to. Extremely helpful staff. Vehicles always clean and spotless. Would give 6 out of 5 stars if that was possible. Great individuals running this enterprise. The only time I've ever had an issue was when I failed to communicate and book my rental in advance. Give them a call, they are not like some rental places. You are able to get into contact with the actual workers at this branch. I wish I could say better things. Nick was very nice but his manager was completely inconsiderate about assisting me with the vehicle I had that broke down. I called roadside assistance and they called the branch to confirm they had a six to seven passenger vehicle. They confirmed they could accommodate the switch out, to much surprise, they didn't and put me a five passenger truck. They claimed all the large vehicles were reserved, mind you, this was just about 5:00pm on Monday, July third. So no other vehicles were going out until after Independence Day (Fourth of July) they manager refused to make any accommodations. Even though I originally reserved a Full-Size SUV. Due to this entire inconsiderate encounter, my family had to cancel our holiday plans and couldn't do anything do to the vehicle being too small. I really give 0 stars but not an option ! We reserved a van a month before we planned to need it. Told to pick up at 1pm the day before when we called to confirm . We went to pick it up and was told we don't have one as the one we had came back with damage. No phone call to tell us before we went in.Then we literally witnessed them giving a walk in a minivan! Then they told us well we can give you two vehicles and not charge you for one! Then they said we have someone was was supposed to bring his back but changed time last minute so we are stuck. I knew this was going to happen as I was told by multiple people this place is known for this! DO NOT TRUST THIS PLACE! Try Hertz, they keep your reservation! read more

I've had to deal with the dubuque enterprise for car rentals twice. Once having to rent a car one way from O'Hare to dubuque and the most recent time for an insurance covered rental while our vehicle was being repaired. The first time they claimed I damaged the vehicle and threatened to charge me to repair it but thankfully I had walked around the vehicle in O'Hare taking pictures of every angle which showed the damage prior to my driving it. This most recent time I paid to upgrade to a slightly larger rental even though it was supposed to be covered by insurance. The vehicle was nice which is why I'll give 2 stars. However upon returning the vehicle my wife was told we had to pay for the upgrade a 2nd time and that they would not be refunding us our deposit due to the upgrade needing to be paid. My wife had the receipt showing we had paid already and the service desk person was very dismissive of her. Finally we got them to agree that it was already paid and we left after returning the vehicle was a 45 minute ordeal instead of a quick drop off like it should be. While the vehicles have always been nice both times I've dealt with enterprise in Dubuque it seems like they want to try to charge you extra and hope you don't stand up for yourself. I'm incredibly disappointed in the service. read more

This company can not be trusted. We reserved a large SUV 6 months prior to our family vacation. Had a confirmation number which means nothing to them. They called 2 days prior to tell us they had no vehicle. Go to AVIS, they will help you in a situation such as this. This company did nothing to help us solve this problem. They left us without a vehicle with hardly any notice. They can not be counted on do not rent here got anywhere else. read more

I've used this Enterprise repeatedly for renting vehicles during my business trips here in Dubuque. The staff has always been polite and helpful. I have never had issues with any of their vehicles. They have always had the vehicle I reserved clean and ready to go upon my arrival. I will continue utilizing this location for future rentals. read more

Renting from Enterprise is always a bit of a pain compared to the other companies - they typically try at least 2 or 3 different sell tactics on the insurance (saying "no" is never good enough) and they waste your time with the whole car inspection rather than doing it before you arrive but this location was convenient so I'd dealt with it. Now, they require 2 phone numbers - I have 1 number and it's the only way to reach me. The woman who claimed to be the new manager demanded that I give her a second number or she wouldn't rent me the car so I gave her the number for a recording. Congratulations, you got an unusable second number and lost a customer. Unless you have no other choice, I'd stay away, it's not worth the trouble. read more

While the staff was friendly this branch often makes its own hours. On two separate occasions we had to visit this branch while we had a rental car. Both times we called first to confirm hours and both times, when arriving well before their stated closing time (15-30 minutes) we found the location dark, devoid of employees, and locked up. Also, when an Enterprise closer to our home attempted to call them to close out the account upon us returning the car they weren't able to contact anyone within the first hours of business. I appreciate good customer service and when you can get someone, they are just fine. But, I find it unprofessional that this location seems to think it is okay to not abide by posted hours on a regular basis. read more

I have rented cars for 3 years. Every experience with this branch has been a good one. Any problems were solved, and it was painless. I only wish that the rest of the Enterprise locations were as agreeable as the Dubuque site. Most Enterprise sites are great, just a couple of hiccups that I did not like. read more

I rented from Enterprise several time over the years with no issue. The last time it was due to car accident that was no fault of my own. Due to miscommunication between the auto insurance and I , neither one of us notified Enterprise to extend to car rental. The branch mgr, Austin Perry, never attempted to contact me via phone or email and immediately sent the issue to a 3rd party Recovery that was immediately able to reach me. They sent a letter to my home but I didn't get it because we were on vacation. I returned the car immediately and rented from Hertz instead. Then I receive a bill for $325 for the charges incurred for the recovery of the car. At this point I received 8 written pages of correspondence with several different names of companies and contact numbers and emails all which nobody answers or it's not their responsibility to contest the charges or a number isn't working . The quickest response I received was after posting a fb review that gave me yet another email to use. I get I should have made sure to notify them of the need to extend the rental but that could have easily be remedied with a simple phone call. The car was actually parked just 100 yards from an Enterprise office at an small local airport while I was on vacation. read more
