At the time I thought maybe the college driver had let someone work on it so I paid it. My mistake as I didn't take time to think it thru. I know the folks I bought it from were honest and long time friends. Big A lied. They showed me of a fuzzy gray video t was supposed to be the problem area but of course it meant nothing to me and was just part of the deception. I will never go back to Big A again. Since I am an older woman needing the service I think they felt they could lie to me about the car.

Apparently there are too many different people to speak with and process through before the local towing service and these organizations aren't exchanging information appropriately. After being given a guarantee from the first several people I spoke with, we were rescheduled another 3 times. Maybe the people in the call center shouldn't give out a pick up date AT ALL. This might not be the towing company's fault, but it really threw off the rest of my car buying process. At pickup, the driver was very friendly and professional. I still received my quoted price for my car and he took good care getting that hunk of junk on the truck. I just wish the rest of my experience with Wenzel's had been so pleasant and easy.

From the first conversation, they took the time to listen to the full history of the vehicle instead of brushing it off or rushing to conclusions. I explained what had happened during a recent dealership visit, including the sudden appearance of multiple fault codes and the fact that a PCM software update had been identified but not performed. They were easy to talk to, cooperative, and genuinely engaged in understanding the situation. Shout out to Kevin, who was especially great to work with. He actually listened, explained what they were seeing, and treated my concerns seriously instead of dismissing them. That alone made a huge difference after everything I had dealt with previously. What stood out immediately was their transparency. They openly said they did not understand why the PCM update would not have been done while the vehicle was already connected for diagnostics, which was incredibly validating. They were also able to get me in the same day, which I did not expect. Throughout the process, I received multiple text updates that included images of scan data and clear proof of what was being checked and updated. That level of communication and documentation made it obvious they care about doing things the right way. No attitude, no defensiveness, and no pressure. Just clear explanations, cooperation, and professionalism. After dealing with poor communication and rushed explanations elsewhere, the contrast was night and day. Louisburg Garage treated me like a person, not a number, and I would absolutely recommend them to anyone who wants honest diagnostics and real communication.

Or more specifically, dealing with the loss and replacement of a favorite grocery store, haircut place, or auto service center. I had a great reliable mechanic in Chicago, and after four visits here, I think I've found another good one. Liebold is located conveniently near downtown Galena. In those four visits, I've only spent about $50, which is a major coup with any mechanic. Two of of those were actual service, and two were my hearing noises, bringing the car in for diagnostics where they found nothing. Kudos to them for putting up with my "mechanichondriac" tendencies and of course with mouthing the noises for them when I bring the car in. Living in a small town, you know, word of one's eccentricities tends to get around fast, and I could get a "reputation." On all four visits, I was able to hang out and wait at their shop and peruse the nice variety of outdated magazines, watch and laugh at animal videos on my smart phone, so it was the auto service equivalent of fast food. The fact that on two occasions they didn't charge me a cent (to find nothing was wrong) is a good way to guarantee I will be back to annoy them in the future. Thanks, guys. You're better than Paxil.
