My reservation was made by my insurance company. I was approved to have the car for a month. I asked for a mid size sedan. When I arrived, they didn't have one and brought around a compact car. When I asked if they had anything any larger they brought me a tiny Kia SUV that had stains on all the seats. I took it because that was my only option. About a week and a half later it rained and when I turned on the wipers there were no wiper blades so the wipers were just scraping the windshield like nails in a chalkboard. I called to see what could be done and was told they had 0 cars to swap out. I could just take it to get wiper blades put on somewhere. After all the money that my insurance company and myself paid to rent this crappy car, I don't think so. I called corporate and was told I could contact other locations to switch the car out ( not well we have a car at this location but told me to call other locations) after two more failed attempts I finally found one at the airport. Staff there were nice and the process was easy. As my return date approached I was notified I may not have my car by that date. I called and asked if I could extend it. The person on the phone was nice and said sure. He charged me for the extra days. This was on Thursday, I was extending through Tuesday. Monday afternoon at 4:30 I receive a call asking why I hadn't returned the car on Thursday. When I explained the situation and that I had already paid to extend the reservation, I was told I needed to come in and sign paperwork. I asked why I needed to come sign paperwork since I had already paid and my car was to be returned in the next day. I was told well we just have to have it. I told them that I would sign the paperwork the following day when I returned the rental as I live 45 minutes away and was not going to drive all that way in 5:00 traffic just to sign paperwork. The guy on the phone got an attitude and said well I guess we will see you tomorrow. After all the money we have paid to have a car for a month, why was I not being assisted in finding a replacement vehicle when there was an issue? First, I want to give kudos to the manager who seems to be working hard to satisfy customers. For the most part, the majority of the employees also seem nice and responsible. However, you cannot be assured that the type of car you reserve actually is available in this location's inventory just because you received a reservation confirmation. I received a call after receiving my reservation confirmation informing me that the size/type of car I reserved was actually not available -- in spite of the confirmation -- because the online reservation system is not connected in any way to the local inventory, particularly if your reservation is same day. Fortunately, by the time I arrived, someone had returned a car that fit my needs so everything worked out. When I returned the car, however, the person who checked my rental car back in quickly alleged that I'd somehow done minor damage to the car -- a minor issue that had been present before I received the car. I asked to speak with the manager who resolved the issue. Be careful to really, really check the car you receive out and perhaps even take photos just in case you miss something!!! Was told by the employee there that yes, they do it all the time and it was no problem at all. I show up the day of the rental and the manager refuses to rent to me. I am now stranded in North Carolina with no forseeable way home for at least the next 10 hours because every other rental agency is sold out of cars. Every other enterprise and avis in the area was willing to rent to me, but they are all sold out of cars and I now have no way to get home. The rental experience was great! I rented a car while my vehicle was being repaired. A representative from Enterprise on Durham-Chapel Hill Blvd picked me up at the repair shop. I got the type of vehicle I reserved and got checked-out quickly. The car itself was clean and worked out just fine. Don't bother calling - they do not answer the phone. I had scheduled on 12/27/23 to arrange a pick up on 1/2/24 at 8:45am (6 days between scheduling and my pick-up date). I confirmed THREE times while on the phone scheduling that an individual/driver will call me prior to 8:45am on 1/2/24 to inform me that they are on the way and indeed picking me up at the scheduled time at the scheduled body shop. I informed the scheduler that I have not had a great experience with Enterprise in the past and I am hopeful this time will be to standard. I WAS WRONG. No one picked me up at 8:45am. No one picked me up at 9am. No one picked me up at 9:15am. No one picked me up at 9:30am (because who has to go to work, right?). I tried to call multiple times and I was told "someone is on the way, he left a while ago so not sure. Maybe traffic?". I left the body shop and then received a voicemail at 9:37am stating "I am here at the body shop". Which is just shy of an HOUR PAST MY RESERVATION TIME. That's embarrassing Enterprise. I had to wait for a while for a car to be ready (amazing that they were even able to pull one together for us without a reservation, given the current shortage) and watched a never-ending stream of people come in asking for cars, help, etc. I was amazed at how calm, level-headed, and friendly the staff here were, despite how busy things got. I came here from Chapel Hill in the rain around noon yesterday in hopes of either changing out my rental or improving the windshield wipers on the one I had. The people there met me with friendly, welcoming faces and could not have been more helpful. They gave me an option if I wanted to trade, but ended up changing out the wiper so it worked perfectly & wiping off the dash etc inside my car. I have dealt with this Enterprise more than once. I was not happy the first time, nor this time. I had a reservation for a rental with them made through my car insurance company, they called me and scheduled my car pick up in person (they don't deliver) for 10a.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 23, 2024. Having no vehicle and expecting to get in one that day, I arrived on time via cab service. When politely approached the desk to discuss my reservation, the person who assisted me, looked up my reservation and informed me that they had no car available to me! I asked why no one thought to call and inform me of such to avoid the wasted trip I paid for out of pocket, the manager became sarcastic stating "Well, I'm informing you now"! I lost it! I told him his professional duty is to assist the client, keep the client informed of changes do not sit on his thumbs and wait to bum rush the client with bad news. The employees of this location represent the worst of humanity. I went in to rent a car and was given a much larger vehicle and told it would be the same price. I expected to pay 300 or so a week inclusive ( as quoted and promoted.) I was charge well over $1100 dollars by the staff, who refused to give me an itemized invoice when i questioned it and i started hearing the staff say "get that faggot cracker out of here" and "F*** that white faggot" I called an Uber to get me home and actually stood out in the pouring rain rather than stay inside the building and wait for my ride. I spoke with these people several times during the course of the rental, and Dray and Kevin told NOTHING BUT LIES. Enterprise should be ashamed of themselves and I reccomend NOBODY go to this location. I feared for my safety and have had them repeatly call my phone back to back to back after being told NEVER to call it again. I just wrote a scathing review about the Chapel Hill Franklin street location. Due to insurance reasons, I had to stay with Enterprise. I called this location and had a completely different interaction. Jimissa picked up my call and proceeded to solve all my problems within the span of a single phone call. She heard me out and even arranged for their office to pick me up because I did not want to work with anyone from the (closer) Chapel Hill office. She was professional, competent and a problem solver. I don't know if she was the manager there or not (wouldn't surprise me if she was) but this is the sort of customer service that one wants to get. They give you two keys on a wire ring together and both must stay on that wire. Said it was a corporate policy so that could sell the car. What a boneheaded policy! If customer loses one key - they lose both. Car interior was clean but outside was not. Windows were streaked. Agent was too busy talking to go through car features. read more

Absolutely terrible customer service. They had multiple agents call me not a single one was used through the whole process. They gave multiple quotes different times. They asked me to come in and pay. I got there then they said it was the wrong day to come in and pay. They charged me for insurance after I specifically said I did not want any insurance. Very disappointing recommend not using this company go anywhere else. In addition, the people who work in the office are able to dictate whatever prices they want regardless of whether it is covered by insurance or not. What that means is that even though you might have booked a reservation, they have the ability to up-sell you if they want to because they essentially always want you to pay the highest rate. Not to mention that they describe supplemental liability as a coverage that will protect you up to a million dollars. You don't get that million dollars unless you die which at that point it would be pretty pointless. Here take a million for your dead body. read more

I rented a 15 passenger van to take Scouts to the mountains. At pickup the windows were dirty and crumbs were in the seats from the previous user. When I got home I washed the windows, however the black dirt from the windows streaked the white van with black streaks. So, yeah, I had to wash the van before I used it. And I HATE the corporate policy that they never give you a vehicle with a full tank of gas. Mine had between a quarter and 3/8 full. If it's lower than where it was at pickup, they charge you $4.99 per gallon. I'm sure everyone, including myself always returns the vehicle with at least 1 if not 2 gallons of gas more than was in it at time of rental. I asked if they would fill the tank, they said no, bring it back with the same amount. If there were close competition, I would never use Enterprise. read more

I had a positive experience using this enterprise Location. Some of the comments mention poor communication, but it seems like the employees are doing a great job to improve that. With the national rental car shortage, I did attempt to rent a car about a week ago and I was able to process the rental online. About five minutes later I received a call from a staff member, Amanda, apologizing for the misinformation but that they did not have any cars available. While that situation was not ideal, there was nothing she could do about it and Amanda was very quick to communicate with me so I was able to make other arrangements and I really appreciated that. This most recent time, however, I was able to rent a car and Amanda was wonderful helping me check the car out. The car ran very well. I returned the car about 30 minutes before the branch opened. Five minutes before the branch opened, I received a call asking about my experience and making sure that it was positive. Again, I really appreciated the prompt, enthusiastic communication from the staff. Everyone was lovely to work with. Keep up the great customer service! read more

Car accident forced me to have a rental car for a week. Enterprise did pick me up, but I'm sure they had a deal with the Body Shop that was servicing my car. I did wait for about 15 mins for service but there were about 3 customers in front me. Apparently all of the short people in the world had rented the smaller compact cars earlier that week and I was left with a freaking IMPALA. I asked for a smaller car (I'm only 5'0) but it was either an Impala or a Charger... - _ - Overall the sales manager I worked with was nice and explained everything, and gave me his card if I had any question . Enterprise was awesome! They had the vehicle I requested, it was new and in perfect condition - the only thing I was surprised about was that the exterior was quite dirty. It's unusual for them to let a car leave the lot unwashed. However, the interior was very clean and, fortunately, free of any cigarette smoke smell.
