When my daughter and her military husband bring the family home for the holidays, it's a special occasion. I reserved an 8 passenger van for us, so we could visit the zoo and museums all together. The day before they were due to arrive, I received a message from Enterprise, saying that they only had 7 passenger vans available, and to call the nearest office if that was a problem. Since there are 8 of us I. The family, I called the Chapel Hill location, and explained the issue to a wonderful agent named Randy. He was polite and courteous, and called all the neighboring locations, but to no avail. He and others in the office continued to call locations a little further out. The manager, Naz, finally got a call that one was returned to RDU airport. He had another agent drive to the airport to pick it up, just in time. My heroes! read more

in the past, I have always had good experiences with this Enterprise Rent-A-Car in Chapel Hill. This time when I tried to call and ask a question about if they still had a discount with the car repair place that I used and I've used a discount before. The lady on the phone acted like either she didn't know about it or she did not want to talk to me. I tried to ask to speak to a supervisor and I was told that the supervisor was on break call back in 40 minutes. I have been in an accident the day before, and was sort of nervous and anxious, however Taylor and her team were unbelievably professional efficient they blew me away. I travel a lot and get to experience a lot of different rental car companies and let me tell you something I will go to this particular enterprise location. I have rented a car from Enterprise, Chapel hill (NC) and returned September 2-4, 2023. After 3 months I am told that I am responsible for ~$16k damage and no body is interested to listen and sort the problem, now threatened to pay $1k down payment. I am told not to be able to rent a car from any company and they want to send a document my file for a collection. No body is willing to look and sort the problem both in the enterprise or progressive. I may need to look for lawyer to deal with the issue. I may need to advice people to be careful while renting and on insurance communication (progressive). /A read more

TLDR 1 - Never Rent from Enterprise Airport outlets. TLDR 2 - Enterprise Rent-A-Car is highly inconsistent and you must call in advance to the location you rent from. Visited the Enterprise Rent-A-Car at the RDU airport outlet. My interaction with them was pathetic and agonizing to say the least. I had booked a vehicle reading the Enterprise policy and relied on an Intl valid driving license + passport. However, I was denied a car stating that my ID would not be accepted. The employees however, did not provide any policy as to why it was not acceptable and failed to give a satisfactory answer and instead threatened to call the police on me for asking too many questions. A legitimate business would not take money from a person, because they think it's OK to steal. lying is a way of stealing, when you lie to somebody and say it's going to be one charge and then charge you something else, that is stealing. This is the third time I've used this company and each time they've put me in a car that reeks of cigarette smoke. The last two times I've had to wait to get a replacement as they were too busy to get to me. I wish my insurance company would allow a different company or that there were some competitors in my area so I wouldn't have to use them again. Sub-par service and experience. Update: after my call talking to JJ, who told me they were too busy to help, I went into the store anyway as the smell in the car was making me ill. Needed a specific vehicle which I contacted Enterprise 10 days out about.. and spoke in great detail about what was needed. Was promised this would be taken care of by management. Called one day before pickup to follow up and confirm that everything was properly handled--However it was not setup and the rep proceeded to argue me as he condescendingly tried to educate me about Enterprise car Class sizes & company policy. So this is my first time using this enterprise Rent-A-Car. Someone hit and ran my jeep SUV so I had to use this location for a rental. They wanted to give me a little Toyota Camry when I drive a jeep and I have a daughter and travel for work so I need a bigger car. That was the first thing, the second thing was she told me to return it on half a tank because I received it at half a tank, it literally was ONE line under half of a tank, someone drove it to them from the collision place and they said there was only a quarter tank in it and took $35 out of my deposit. Gas in a Jeep Grand Cherokee is only $40 MAX to fill up. Why would it cost me $35? I am a single mother who was already inconvenienced and then they decided they wanted to give me $15.00 out of that deposit. I am extremely upset. That is the worst business idea and experience. Booked a rental online with Enterprise, made the reservation at the (GBO) Piedmont Triad International Airport in Greensboro, NC. My daughter and son in law needed a truck due to having so many bags and 3 kids. He is currently Active Military and transporting to South Korea for 2 years. The ( GBO) Piedmont Triad Airport was the only location that had a truck available for a one way destination to (ATL) Hartfield International Airport. When we arrived to pick up vehicle, the very rude lady at customer service tried scanning my son in laws license and was unable to scan due to having a few teeth marks in it from dog. ( was note punctured, just dimpled ). She then told him since this was an airport location that she couldn't punch in his license number. She then said, I can't help you you'll have to go to another location. Very confused and upset as to why she couldn't seem to help any further, we called my daughter who actually made the reservation, she drove 30 minutes up to airport and when they went inside, the rude lady at customer service said she could not rent them a vehicle because his license wouldn't scan.. she wouldn't use my daughters either and said anyone affiliated with my son in law could not rent the vehicle that they so desperately needed to transport all of them and their many bags. This was a very desperate matter since they had to drive 5 hours away to Atlanta to catch a flight for transporting to South Korea. We frantically tried 2 other Enterprise locations and they couldn't help due to not being able to send their trucks one way...and they had multiple ones on the lot. This is very upsetting the way this company treated an Active Military Member and his family while trying to get to a destination, so in turn he could fight for the many freedoms this Country has. read more

Awful customer service. They literally were handing me the keys to my rental and didn't tell me about the $200 deposit until I was making the transaction on my card. So I had to cancel and go put more money in the bank, no problem right? I start a new reservation, then they tell me they need a utility bill and pay stubs... they literally were going to hand me the keys the first time without any of those requirements. While this is a formal summary of the aims and values of your company is expressed on your website and publications visible in all branch locations, it was not in the slightest exemplified by both employees Kevin Edmunson and JJ Jimenez who both refused to help us with anything. On Sunday, November 15, 2020, I received the worst customer service experience I have ever had. On the final day of our 4-day rental, the vehicle provided from the PA Enterprise location battery died in a private area in the woods. After talking to Roadside Assistance I was told to take my family of 5 (including 2 children) to the Chapel Hill area and go to this specific branch to pick up a replacement car so we can return to PA. The next morning I went to this location for help and was completely disrespected by Kevin Edmunson and JJ Jimenez. Kevin callously told me that it was nothing he could do even after I repeatedly explained that Roadside Assistance instructed us to go to this specific Chapel Hill branch to receive a new working and safe vehicle. We were reassured that Roadside Assistance left multiple messages for the branch about our arrival. After being ignored by Kevin Edmunson at the Chapel Hill branch, my Partner contacted both the Philadelphia Essington Avenue branch and the 1800 customer service number and was told that Kevin had informed them that a car will be available between 2-2:30 pm. Naturally, my Partner goes to the Chapel Hill location and ask to speak with Kevin so he can help me move forward. When she arrived She, a paying loyal customer, was immediately disregarded and passed along to another uninformed and extremely presumptuous staff member named JJ Jimenez. Not only did Kevin not brief JJ on the details of this extremely serious and time-sensitive ordeal, but Kevin Edmunson influenced JJ to abandon his professional responsibilities as well. JJ failed to offer any help to our situation. After being cut off repeatedly, As he stated, "he has several other reservations and I'm not on there so it's nothing he can do." She asked could he call another location or customer service to find us a vehicle. He refused and added, "I don't represent the company, I only have to worry about his branch and only his branch". I am extremely saddened by this experience. This is unacceptable. An epic failure on behalf of these two representatives of Enterprise. I trust that a global company has access to a more professional recruitment pool than this. I will no longer patronize Enterprise and I will be sure to share this awful experience with my colleagues, corporate department heads and suggest that they eliminate their contract with your company and establish a relationship with a corporation that is more suitable to exemplify their mission statement. read more

I rented a car with Enterprise, Chapel Hill, NC location because it's close to the Auto Body Shop I used and it's courtesy pick-ups and drop-offs. Now, that's white glove service! This is a busy location right in-town. They did not have a wide selection of vehicles that day so I got a standard car. This location made everything easy. The staff were very professional, courteous and friendly, especially Peter Stewart. He was the best rep. ever. He is nice, professional and very helpful. The level of customer service was top-notch. I usually LOVE Enterprise but since moving to Chapel Hill and using this particular one twice now, I've been so disappointed and dismayed that I will drive to Durham to rent again. I don't have a credit card but my money is still green. Here, however, I'm treated like a second class citizen. Asked to bring in current bills to prove my address, I was then torn apart in front of other customers because my bill showed that I had paid my last bill. Yes, just digest that for a moment. The clerk seemed to think that I was supposed to have no previous payment listed on my bill. I'm guessing her mom still pays her bills; otherwise, she'd know that ALL bills show a previous PAID balance. ANNOYED is a vast understatement. And this was the second time this happened at this location, both times with a different clerk; obviously their employees need further training in customer service. The cars are clean, and the price is comparable but the employees leave a lot to be desired. read more

Had a terrible experience here when I rented a car from them through my insurance. They upcharged me when they didn't have a car within my daily insurance coverage. Not knowing that they had a two-hour window to try to find you a car within your coverage, after which they wouldn't charge you extra, I agreed. No one explained this policy to me. I mentioned it later to my insurance adjuster and she said they shouldn't be charging me extra. She called to speak with them and an employee agreed with her that they would not charge me. Later, I get a call asking if they can keep my card on hold for another $20 charge, totalling $240. I went to talk to the branch manager, Tom Morris, and he offered me a deal to take $100 off the charges. Not wanting to automatically accept his deal when my insurance adjuster was telling me I shouldn't be paying anything, I had him speak to her. He did not back down. He did agree not to make me switch cars and not to charge me any further after that (though I returned the car the next day), so that is a small plus in his column. I called to accept his deal of taking off $100 and he wasn't there. I left a message with an employee to tell him that I'd take his deal but if he wanted to discuss it further he could call me. He never called. My dad called him to tell him we'd be making a complaint about him. According to my dad, he was argumentative, and said he hadn't even finalized the charges with me, not to make a complaint, and that he'd call me. He never did. I had no more energy or time to deal with these people, so I didn't bother calling him. Today I found the full charge on my statement. Of course Tom Morris is on vacation. They put me on hold to speak to the acting manager. After a long hold I finally hung up. I am admittedly at least partly to blame for being naive about the rental car business and losing my perseverance to keep calling them back, but I think they should have their employees clearly explain that they can find you a car within your coverage that day if you wait. I'll eat the cost, but my family and I are done with Enterprise forever, unless forced to deal with them through insurance again. My car was totaled 2 months ago and I've been dealing with insurance/loan pay off since. The least painful part of this entire process has been dealing with Enterprise. All their employees exemplify top quality customer service and this location works as a team. It's just really nice to be treated the way I aim to treat my customers at work. Rented a car here for a short trip, staff was super friendly. They offered us a bigger car, without any additional charge, after seeing the size of our family. They were very understanding, being that they had a van available they had no problem switching it out. Also when we dropped the van off, they had a reservation pending. The drop off time is 8am we were about 15 minutes late, no big deal. However we all know some places would give u a hard time, or make u feel guilty about this, being they had a reservation pending, not this enterprise. All they were concerned about was that we had a good time and that the car fit our needs. They gave us a ride home, and our driver was (as is the overall theme of this enterprise) very friendly, welcoming and polite. They even waited for us to grab some coffee... lol. Terrible service. My best friend of 40 years just passed away from a massive heart attack. I reserved online a car at this location to pick up and drive north to my friend's funeral. There were many customers there, and several employees, but only one of them helped customers. The rest seemed to be doing nothing or "looking busy" The concept of standing in a line didn't seem to matter to the manager. I waited a long time, when it was my turn somebody else came in and the "manager" served her before me. I'm old and recovering from painful invasive abdominal surgery, standing for a long time hurts a lot, this was very unpleasant for me. When it came to be served, I was told that I was required to have a utility bill from my home to prove who I was, I didn't notice any of the white customers being required to show a utility bill. Of course I don't carry around utility bills on my person, so I couldn't get the car, and will probably have to miss my best friends funeral. I would not recommend this place to anybody, even people I dislike. The management is terrible, the inside is dirty, the parking lot is dirty, and they don't give a hoot about the customers. read more

This Enterprise Rental Store is in a very convenient location and the employees are very polite and professional. I think they need to employ a couple more people during peak hours, however. The wait at the end of the day (around 4pm) when I was turning the car in was more than 15 minutes. The car was clean and in very good condition. I'd use this location of Enterprise again. They've always gone above and beyond. Quick story. Several years ago, Thanksgiving I had reserved a vehicle over the phone. I usually never complain for a bad service, I just let it go. But today, has been the worst service I have ever experienced in all the 3 countries I have lived. I have been a regular customer for enterprise, branch chapel hill, North Carolina. I made a reservation for a car. I called today around 11:00 am, just to verify if they had cars available on that specific branch. One lady told me that the did have and proceeded to make the reservation. Turns out that when I was going there to pick it up, a different girl from the same branch called me and VERY rudely told me that they didn't have a car available. I asked her why, and she just said that they did not. I asked her why the other girl proceeded to make the reservation and she just said that the girl was probably from another branch. I asked her then if at least she could give me a ride back to my house and she just rejected saying that they do not have that service. Are you serious???????? You make me go there, paying uber and you don't even have the decency to give me a ride back? I will make absolutely sure that all my friends know about this! And you know what's worse? That this is not the first time that this happens. The other day happened the same, and one person contacted me and they said that they were gonna give me a compensation, and that somebody from the branch would contact me... Well, you guessed it, I never received any compensation! You have lost my business for ever. TL;DR: their service is really awful and you should stay away. I have chosen 1 star because Yelp doesn't allow zero-star reviews. At 11am I went to pick up my reserved car and was told there were no cars available until 1pm. I went home and when I called at 1pm I was told to wait until 4pm. At 4pm I was told they *might* have a car for me on Friday. Thursday is thanksgiving. Hypothetical Friday-cars aren't particularly helpful. I asked to speak with a manager and was told he would have to call me back. I received no call, the store is now closed, I won't be able to visit family. I would absolutely recommend you never visit this location. Everyone was rude and completely unsympathetic. read more
