I'am writing this review to voice my horrible horrible experience with this enterprise in Hamburg NJ I made a car reservation and called this place multiple times to confirm my pick up. Got a confirmation email and a reservation number. We were renting this vehicle to go on a family trip the following morning so my husband had to take a lift to go to the enterprise in Hamburg to pick up the reservation as he was supposed to do at 5 o'clock. when my husband gets there, he calls me right away, so I am on the phone, listening to everything. The customer service there was horrendous completely ignoring my husband my husband was trying to get their attention and all they can say was we don't have your car here we tried to call you, which isn't true because I never got a missed call or even a voicemail or even an email stating that they needed to cancel because they didn't have the vehicle so my husband shows up there just as he was supposed to pick up the vehicle and all he gets is people walking around him ignoring him picking up phone calls and he's just standing there and I'm listening to everything happening on the phone for them to tell him we don't have your vehicle and not even an am sorry for the confusion misunderstanding for the mistake that they made on their part not even an I'm sorry I don't have your vehicle available. We're sorry we made a mistake. Let's try to figure something out. Let's try to get into another vehicle. My Mom was a car accident and was using the rental until her car was fixed. They sold her daily collision coverage when her car insurance company covered collision on rentals. Would give 0 stars if I could. The Hamburg office is the worst of any I've dealt with. Horrible customer service. They have corporate taking reservations for them without corporate knowing what inventory they have and would not honor the price I had reserved. This office blamed their corporate location for the mistake and wouldn't take any responsibility whatsoever. Didn't let me know any of this until the time of the pickup. Offered no options other than paying more or going somewhere else. So-called Manager wouldn't even give her name. I reported this office to Enterprise corporate. I don't expect anything to come of this though. They also expected 2 utility bills for using a debit card when they already have my info on file because I rented a truck 2 weeks ago. They obviously don't care about their customer's needs or expectations based on reservation info that is given. Word of advice, rent somewhere else. read more

Very unhappy. They get a 2 because the car was nice. 1. At what point do rental car agencies learn to accept debit cards without holding up a ridiculous amount of funds in your bank account for their 'debit card deposits'. They added $250 just because I used a debit card. That is ridiculous. The hold up of funds is not going to hurt me financially but it's the principle. Is there a mass problem of people with debit cards stealing cars. And it's just as easy to rip them off with a credit card if you really want to. It's time for these people to come into the current century. 2. Because I used the debit card I had to provide TWO extra forms of ID in addition to my license and debit card. For what? What logical reason would there be to require extra idea because I use a debit, instead of a credit card. They asked me if I had a utility bill; yeah, my back pocket. If I was a thief determined to steal a rental car (which is silly given it probably has GPS) I could rip you off just as easy with a credit card; probably easier. Nonsense. 3. This is what drives me the most crazy. I was considering adding an extra driver. For that privilege I had to pay $9.00 per day and a fee of $250. How does it make any sense and why does it cost and extra $300 to add one driver. It's on my insurance so having someone borrow the rental car isn't costing them any more money. And your personal insurance covers the extra drive just as if they were borrowing your car. More money making racket nonsense. 4. They actually charged me more money because I showed up about 40 minutes early; really, the car was just siting there. And guess what, I dropped the car off over 12 hours earlier. Just had the worst experience ever with this company. I have felt with them for years and when Sean was the manager it was great. I just had dealings with the new kid Mike along with the regional manager and they were mad that I put a complaint with corporate. I was told one thing and then drove two hours to satisfy there requirements only to have Mike change his mind and now I will NEVER deal with these imature uneducated lying employees again. When they get employees who try to help instead of having a store manager power trip. Maybe I will give them another try. See yo in a few years. Rented from Enterprise because my car was tied up in the body shop after an accident, ended up having the car for a month! The transaction was smooth and effortless as Enterprise dealt directly with my insurance company. The car was clean and in perfect condition. Jess was the associate who assisted me on both ends and she could not have been better. Quick, efficient and professional. She picked me up at the body shop on drop off and then a month later when the car was finished she brought me back up there. It may sound like a funny thing to comment on but she is a really good driver. I was in a rental agency car with an employee a few years ago and literally though I was going to die!! Jess was great and she is also easy to talk to and very friendly! Excellent representation of this business. Alonzo called me twice during the month I had the car to be sure everything was OK. The collaboration between this location and FranklinSussex Automall is on par. From the time FSAM calls, there is always someone there to pick you up or bringing a rental in under 20 minutes. This enables me or my wife to get on with the daily activities with very little inconvenience. The staff is always very pleasant to talk to and very good at understanding the needs of the customer. They are very thorough when doing the paperwork as well. I would recommend them to use them if you need to rent a vehicle. read more

So unhappy with my experience. They get one star because the car did not smell like smoke and the employees I spoke with at the Augusta Enterprise were actually nice and helpful. I recently utilized Enterprise due to a car accident. Insurance set me up with $30 a day coverage through the Hamburg/Vernon Enterprise. I asked if there was a way I could have a car brought to me since I was stranded. Nope. I could just get there when I get there. I arrive to there only being a giant SUV left despite discussing with the employee earlier that I drive a car (clearly my preference). They tell me they will only charge $30 vs the $50 the car actually would cost since that is what insurance will cover. How nice right? Nope. They neglect to tell you the amount in taxes you will be paying on this beast of a vehicle. Don't EVER use your debit card if you have to deal with Enterprise. The "contract" you sign gives them the right to take money out of your account without authorization. It would have been nice if they explained this to me during the 45 minutes I was there renting a car. They will take the money out of your account and then call you hours later to inform you of the charge. When I called to dispute it they could not justify the charge, were very unhelpful and became annoyed with me. Basically hung up on me. I had to call my insurance company for help. Enterprise will charge you in advance for days you may have the car. I returned my car early, no refund. But they didn't forget to charge me MORE money for dropping my car off at the enterprise closer to my house even though I was told there would be no charge since it is an insurance claim. Never use Enterprise. See if you can find another rental company or if the place you purchased your vehicle has a loaner. The amount you pay with Enterprise is ridiculous and the customer service leaves a lot to be desired. I will never use Enterprise again. read more

I am totally frustrated with this company. Our truck was in the shop for an extended period of time so the dealership rented us a minivan so we could continue with our lives as best possible. The rental company said that they needed a credit card on file for the tax - however I pointed out that the dealership was paying for this in full. They made a note on the bottom of the bill. We returned the minivan to the dealership when the truck was finally finished, a little while later I checked my credit card account and see that there is a charge on my account for $77.+ change - I call the rental company to see why the charge is there. They advised that the dealership generally doesn't pay the tax. I explained that this is not a normal situation, nor a 1 or 2 day rental for a normal problem and that it was explained when we picked the vehicle up that the dealership would be paying - I asked if they checked with the dealership as per the note on the bottom. They don't know if they checked with them or not. So I explained that they need to reverse the charge and bill the dealership. Totally frustrated I called the dealership and they confirmed that they would be paying the tax and full cost of the rental. 2 weeks go by and I check my credit card account again and the charge is still there - I call Enterprise again and they take my information and say they will call back in about 15 minutes. A few hours go by and then I call Enterprise again they advise that this should be reversed out by Wednesday of the following week. Here it is Wednesday of the following week and the charge is still on my credit card. I just called Enterprise prior to posting this and they did advise that the credit was processed and should be showing up soon. This is like pulling teeth....I only hope that the credit does show up. I am truly unhappy with the current treatment to an issue at hand. I had rented a car about a month ago because my car was in the shop and it was under an insurance claim. Normally I take out the extra insurance this time I DID NOT however when I got my banking statement I say a charge for 300+ when I called and questioned it I was told by the manager Shaun that the insurance did not pay for the weekend and I had , the additional insurance on the car. He stated to me he would speak to the gentleman that assisted me and get back to me. well its been three weeks and no call back. So what that tells me that the manager stood behind his employee and the customer doesn't count especially that there has been no follow up phone call regardless of the outcome. I know this time I didn't take it out so how was I charged. I spoke to the insurance company and they told me they paid up until the 9th and it was the additional insurance that was taken out on the car. so now there are two stories. What is the charge for? And why was I charged. I've had issues before and they were taken care of even though when I was given a weekend for a horrific rental that didn't come to pass because there was always a reason why I wasn't able to take. I'm updating my review and down grading it to one star. While Enterprise corp seems to have a system where they are quickly notified and respond within a day that's about it. I had to remind the person that the name on the review was not the name on the email (auto generated?) and they asked for more info but I pretty much had written all the details including where and when if one looks at the review. That said the corporate person did apologize and we responded to each other a bit at which point I was told it would be sent to the regional office. Well that was 2 business days ago and in total a week has elapsed. Guess customer satisfaction was not as big an issue as getting a ding on yelp was. Once a response is posted guess that ends it for them. Think Enterprise obviously has gotten too big and successful. Know they are all over the place now but doesn't mean they can afford to just "write" us off - bad pun intended. read more
