The high ceilings, exposed wooden beams, large windows, and unique circular lighting give the airport a warm Montana character rather than the cold, crowded atmosphere found at many larger airports. There is plenty of seating throughout the terminal, and the large windows provide great views of the runway and surrounding mountains. I also appreciated having a restaurant and comfortable seating areas where travelers can grab something to eat or relax before their flight. The airport offers free WiFi, rental car services, and convenient parking, which makes traveling through Helena even easier.

Quiet. It's quiet. The staff is friendly, the check-in and check-out were both easy. The room is ordinary, almost plain, but has a comfortable enough bed, a small refrigerator, a coffee maker (but the coffee isn't all that good but it gets the job done), the sink is separate from the shower and commode (a nice feature), there are okay amenities, and a window that opens to bring in the refreshing mountain air (if you want). The continental style breakfast is okay, not gourmet but serves its purpose. There's a couple of places that serve breakfast within walking distance (less than a 1/2 mile) for those who want something substantial. There's a picnic table near the parking lot, probably for the staff on their breaks, but it's a good place to sit if you don't want to stay in your room or go anywhere, and want to enjoy the outdoors. Elkhorn Mountain isn't a chain, so don't have those expectations and you'll find it a nice enough stop on your trip to somewhere else.

I had to contact the national office to get my money back. I only hope they deduct it from this place for over charging me. One of the young ladies who was 'suppose' to be stocking breakfast items was no where to be seen with 25 minutes to go. She 'finally' showed up at 10 till but refused to stock anything.
