The front desk clerk was wonderful right as I walked in without a reservation later in the evening and needed a quiet room. Albeit there was a young sports team staying at the hotel we were not disturbed at all. Bravo to the front desk clerk who was exceptional. The hotel was an older property but very clean and well kept. The beds were very comfortable and bedding looked and smelled clean. Bath had ample towels and shampoos and soap provided were filled. This place sucks. It was noisy because of the traffic. They double charged for two dogs even though their own website says $50 for pets, NOT each pet. I had to contact the national office to get my money back. I only hope they deduct it from this place for over charging me. One of the young ladies who was 'suppose' to be stocking breakfast items was no where to be seen with 25 minutes to go. She 'finally' showed up at 10 till but refused to stock anything. What positive feedback could I leave for this hotel? Well, the parking lot was nice. The room was large. Negatives? My room was obviously dirty-food on the carpet, couch table had dried food on it. I contacted the manager and told her. She promised to get someone up to vacuum and wipe down surfaces. Never happened.. No coffee available either morning. The room was clean,unfortunately, Management lost a couple stars for the TV not working, the window AC unit not working and both ice machines not working. Here is a tip you need: the odd numbered rooms face an all night truck stop. There was braking, engine noise, load adjustments and a military convoy that were busy all night. When you check in, ask for the even numbered rooms (unless sleeping isn't important) That being said, rooms were clean and comfortable and the staff was great. Hampton Inn Helena was horrible. Here for gym camp at Gym406, Hampton Inn was host hotel. General manager (GM) Makenna seemed annoyed at our group, glaring at us as we walked thru lobby, agitated at teens. Kids noticed she was staring, I advised them to stay out of her way. We absolutely got the feeling she didn't want us there, tried our best to avoid her. First night, kids printed pictures of Spongebob on lobby printer, placed papers on coach's car, a usual thing they do with coach. Printed many sheets, which we paid for. Also put papers on 2 other cars (which is not appropriate. I didn't know they'd put a paper on other cars). Two days passed, heard nothing from staff. Kids spent days/evenings at camp events. Day 3, Makenna said boys can't be unsupervised, I agreed. Fourth morning, desk staff LauriAnn said guest complained about 1 paper on his car. Soon after, Makenna called & said we must leave, citing "complaints" and papers in pool. I asked for info (specifics, pictures/video, why I wasn't made aware of complaints before). She repeated vague statements like "there were complaints"..no details, documentation, witnesses, video...I asked for info again, she threatened to call police. I asked to speak to a supervisor...she refused to provide info, said supervisor Serena would not believe me anyway so it was no use to try. I asked about damage done (vandalism means damage w/malicious intent)....she replied there was "potential for damage" from ink bleeding (this was a laser printer, doesn't bleed.) When asked how this is vandalism, she said it's "considered" vandalism. Calling paper on a windshield vandalism is ridiculous. Would it be vandalism if a flyer is placed on a windshield at grocery store? I was again threatened with police. Upon checkout, LauriAnn used profanity at group, which other guests witnessed & would be on surveillance video. I asked for staff names...they reluctantly gave first names. When asked for last names, Makenna said something like "that's confidential." (when I filed complaint with Hilton, her last name was given without me even asking..another example of statements made by Makenna which had no basis in fact.) Others were present at pool, attested that there were no papers thrown. I reached out to parents who were in common areas...asked if they saw kids being disruptive..everyone said nothing was concerning whatsoever. We emailed Makenna, requested documentation, pictures, video, and addressed profanity by LauriAnn. She denied profanity despite witnesses...didn't address requests for details & proof of damages/complaints. We again asked what was damaged...no answer. I have copies of all emails. I complained to Hilton and got 15,000 Honors points compensation for "staff unprofessionalism" (a fraction of a night's stay). We requested investigation & review of surveillance, & had witnesses willing to give statements. With no investigation or video review, Hilton said this was not the image that Hilton wants to present, but the GM's decision stands...apparently standard practice...Hampton Inns are franchisees, so Hilton's customer is Hampton Inn, not guests. It's disconcerting that GM can create claims at will with no proof, and Hilton will not be accountable or investigate complaints at their hotels. We've canceled our HiltonHonors account and will never stay at another Hilton, advising friends & family to do same. We disputed credit charges & got full refund. At the very least, this Hampton Inn didn't get our money. Note this: I have nothing to gain by anyone believing this review. I have my money back, just want to warn others. Hampton Inn wants your business and so will attempt to discredit me. Any response below that includes details of why we were evicted can be considered completely made-up, as this hotel repeatedly would not provide any such details to me. I booked this hotel with points as a long-time Diamond member a week or so before my stay and acquired a confirmation number, as always, when booking Hilton rooms. I checked in with my family for a soccer tourny for my kids late at night, and they gave my room to someone else. They overbooked the hotel. Horrible service; they wouldn't help with another reservation. Hopefully, they will make it right somehow. read more

When I travel in Montana, I normally stay in Helena and drive to my clients in different cities since it seems to be more central. I always stay at the Hampton Inn. They recently updated the rooms and everything looks new and refreshed. Staff is always so helpful and love walking in after dinner to smell cookies freshly baked. read more

I am giving this place five stars for the outstanding customer service I received here. I really felt down and out after being totally abused by the Budget Inn Express Staff and I called the Helena Hampton Inn from the airport around 8 in the morning asking if there were rooms available. I told them what had happened and they said they would have a room cleaned for me as soon as they could. I thanked them and got a taxi to to deliver me there. The lady at the check-inn desk greeted me with warmth and a smile. She asked if she could take my bags and invited me to enjoy the free breakfast while the maid finished cleaning the room she was preparing for me. I was starving and inhaled the food. Very soon after I finished, the front desk lady brought my bags to my table along with my key and told me that my room was ready. The next morning I did get the wake-up call just as ordered and when the taxi was late the lady even offered to take me to the airport so I would not miss my flight again. Just as we were about to leave the taxi finally arrived. (later I found out that there is like one taxi for the whole town that works that early in the morning and they had like 5 other calls.. so schedule your taxi ride an hour before you need it if you are leaving for that early morning flight or you might miss it). I really like this Hilton product. I don't usually review chains, but I must say that I have been pleased with every Hampton Inn where i have stayed and I think it is a decent price for all that you get with it. Hilton quality: consistent and comfortable. The hot waster remained through all our showers. The beds were comfortable. I got a good nights rest because we were able to thoroughly close the blinds. I felt the AC could have kicked on a little sooner because I was getting hot in the middle of the night. Maybe I didn't have the AC set right. The front desk clerks were friendly as well. We needed to do laundry and he let us know beforehand that the dryers were broken and new ones were being delivered the next day. Power went out and we couldn't use any amenities at the hotel, we helped with lighting up the lobby, keeping customers in good spirits and when I made a simple request to get another night's stay comped so we could actually enjoy our trip they agreed. I called the front desk and confirmed my extra stay and the front desk gave the key card and said I was good to go (I confirmed again that it was a comped stay). When I get back home I see my card was charged both nights and I've been leaving multiple voicemails with the manager with no call backs and went above the property and still no resolution to my refund (It's now been almost 2 months). The customer service center is a absolute joke on helping, I've requested to speak with a customer service manager and was denied but instead they keep reaching out to the property even after I said that I don't care to speak with the property since I can't even get a return call from the property manager! When I requested a refund they want to offer half... I was given less than half. When they promote that WE PROMISE TO DO WHATEVER IT TAKES TO ENSURE YOU'RE SATISFIED, OR YOU DON'T PAY! All I've tried to do is get a refund now and they're still not willing to give it in full. We use this company every time we travel and we even are HGV Owners and I'm really regretting everything if this is how they treat loyal renters and owners. I hope this finds Chris Nassetta which is the President and CEO so it can be shown how the most simple customer complaint can escalate. Would not stay here again. The hotel just felt dirty. My roo was fine but the elevators and commons areas smelled and just did not look clean. The guy that assisted me with my check in was very kind & friendly. The breakfast was horrible. My sausage was like rubber, eggs cold, the syrup was not replenished and the coffee urn was completely empty. I had to go offsite for a decent breakfast and coffee. We have stayed at A lot of little and big hotels and motels on the road throughout our travels. And it's always a toss up and compromise between price and quality. We have found that this Hampton Inn is the perfect combination of both. It's not the cheapest thing-and you can tell by the stay!. Honestly, for a few dollars more you can get the best and I feel that this hotel is the best as evidenced by the friendly and helpful staff and quality of the premises. Every single staff member in every single area was so nice and helpful. The room was very clean, the bed super comfortable, and the TV was large and clear and didn't have a disruption in service at all. Air conditioner works great! I don't have enough good things to say and not one bad thing to say. Breakfast was yummy, this is the first place I've stayed where the hotel breakfast had soft biscuits! Yummy waffles, eggs that taste real, and fresh cut up fruit. Coffee was better than average for a hotel. I won't have to make a Starbucks run when leaving here. My suggestion if you're thinking about choosing a different hotel for a small difference in price-don't do it, you won't be sorry. It's also got a later check out option, later for most hotels on the road, and we took advantage of a morning Jacuzzi soak. It was heavenly. And a welcomed way to start our next day on the road! Would not stay again. Bed linen had not been changed; there was a ring in the bed and the pillow reeked of the last person. Breakfast was awful. The sausage was cold and appeared as though it hadn't been reheated. The gravy was barely more than milk and was cold. The milk and coffee ran out. For reference, breakfast started at 6 and we were there at 7:30. We were here - during the summer and were very pleased. The staff (Zack) could not have been nicer - and they were so helpful as we asked about places to see and things we wanted to do in Helena. We always have to take our "work" with us (computers) - and we LOVED that the computer/work desk could be moved easily!!! That way we could "customize" our room! We enjoyed the room - and the bathroom was large (no struggle getting out of the tub/shower and trying to avoid the toilet while drying off . (and the Kleenex and TP were soft!) There was some type of convention going on - but . . it wasn't a problem at all - A wonderful Hampton Inn. read more

This location was remodeled and updated in 2013 to great effect. It is close to the airport, and if you use the courtesy phone there, they can send a free shuttle to pick you up. (Though you will likely need a car in Helena) Make sure you don't misinterpret the 5 stars. If you are expecting a clean, comfortable, friendly low-budget hotel, this is the best Hampton I have ever stayed in. It does not have a restaurant, spa, concierge, room service, etc. it does have lots of free parking, indoor heated pool and spa, fitness room, and free breakfast. read more

My room smelled like flea powder, the door had a 2"gap from the floor - so it was loud, dark (dingy) and frankly - quite terrifying. Will never return.
