When we got there the Enterprise window was closed and so we had to get checked out with Alamo. The guy at the desk didn't ask to see ID and didn't go out to inspect the car with us. He just gave us papers and said "your car is in stall 5. If there's any damages just take pictures of them." Given, it was near 6:15pm at this point and getting dark. I didn't like that we didn't have someone check out the car with us and agree on any potential existing damage, but I also understand there was ONE guy working two different company's check outs. Drop off (after hours) was easy and we received our check out paperwork and final costs by the end of the same day. read more

So this is a fairly simple one, because it's really just a list of things they *didn't* do. I'd originally booked a week reservation from another company, but seeing much worse reviews there than the ones here, I swapped that reservation for one with Enterprise, even though it was a few dollars more expensive per day. There was no wait to pick up the car or drop it off, they didn't try to sneak any sneaky charges in, the car was clean and in perfect working order (except for one tiny dent)... they also didn't try to charge us for the tiny dent... no complaints. I really don't have the words to describe how bad this Enterprise Rental office is. The only reason I used this location was because my insurance company (USAA), has a contract with them. On our first visit, we waited in line for a half hour before being "helped" then waited another half hour for them to get a vehicle ready. Our second visit was unbelievably far worse. The customer service representative that "helped" us moved like a Zombie in slow motion. Another nearly hour-long wait was necessary and the person assisting us was outright rude and purposely kept us waiting far longer than necessary just to be difficult. I will never utilize this Enterprise office again. They are rude, unbelievably slow and unprofessional. read more

My rental vehicle is always from Enterprise when I am sent to Hilo because my employer has an account with the company. Customer service is consistently friendly and helpful. Picking up and returning the vehicle is simple and relatively quick. I have driven mostly Nissan cars and trucks that were clean and in excellent condition. The last time I was in Hilo, I left my iPhone X in my vehicle after I turned it in. The kind Enterprise employee ran after me as I was on my way to check-in for my flight back to Honolulu. That was a close call! Very thankful to the employee who did a thorough check of my vehicle and returned my phone. The point is that everyone has a little drama. This provider has completely remedied my previous gripe with outstanding customer service and discounts and most importantly. RESPECT. We recently were asked what kind of car we drove, like it matters. Anyway we just looked at each other and smiled, naming first the vehicles we own abroad that don't do us much good here followed by the fleet of Enterprise cars often at our disposal. Well lets see. They're all 2020's, Dodge Grand Caravan, a Charger, a Chevy Equinox a damn Nissan Frontier. Yea. We are not wealthy. But Enterprise makes us RICH. They afford us an advantage over OUR COMPETITION! Enterprise is my 'go to' car rental company. The experience of renting from them is consistently excellent at all of the locations from which I've rented. Meanwhile, this was my first car rental in 3 years so I was curious if 'things had changed'. They hadn't. The rental lot is right at the airport which makes it super convenient. You don't have to catch a shuttle, just gotta cross the street and you're there. The service was nice and they hooked it up with a free upgrade since it was our honey moon. So we sampled the Mustang convertible. Fast and easy experience. Rent and go. I booked online but when I got there they wanted a physical card but all I had was on my phone. The person at the counter was inflexible didn't care and only wanted the next person in the line. They wouldn't take cash either. Really poor service for the 21st century, don't they realise that we hardly use physical cards any more. They nearly ruined my holiday. read more

My company has a corporate account with Enterprise and I have been using Enterprise essentially for all my car rentals. The only exception is that I will go to Penske for trucks. And I travel extensively for business and leisure. I have been using Enterprise for nearly seven years and have been able to maintain a gold status. This is the only location that doesn't show a little courtesy for customers. The bill came that I was charge one additional hour as the pick up time is 8:27am and the return, 9:00am. With the similar situation for other locations, I have never been charged. And I don't even think I should be fully responsible for the extra time. When I picked up the car, I was asked to sign the contract even before I could load all the luggage of my family (this is Hawaii, you know what I am talking about). And for return, this Enterprise location is actually away from the spot where all other rental car shops are. I followed the airport road sign, drove along the airport twice and then found the small enterprise sign. My family enjoyed Maui every much and we will definitely come back. Yet there is no way that I would use this location again. Luckily, there is another Enterprise brunch nearby. read more

When in Hilo, we always rent a truck from Enterprise. As usual, I reserved a truck online. I was terribly disappointed when we went to pick up the truck to be told that a truck was not available and we were being given a mini van. What?? Not good! Philip knew how disappointed we were and went out of his way to accommodate us. He assured us that a truck would be available by the end of the day and took my cell phone number so he could call as soon as it was ready. We didn't have to wait long. Within a couple of hours, he called to let us know we could pick up the truck. Every step of he way, Philip sincerely thanked us for our patience. Sometimes things don't go as planned but Enterprise turned a negative into a positive as soon as they could and that counts for something in my book. One of the best things about Enterprise is how fast they are. They make it quick and easy, especially when you drop the vehicle back off. Between the customer service, the quality of vehicles and the efficient check in/check out - Enterprise will continue to be my go to rental car company. read more

This Enterprise location had the worse customer service I've ever experienced. I would definitely not recommend booking a rental through this location. Unfortunately, I can't give 0 stars, or else I would in a heartbeat. We booked 2 cars for our party of 8, and had arranged for Enterprise to pick us up from the pier where the cruise ship was moored. When the shuttle arrived, we were told that the current shuttle only had room for 2 people, as it was already full. We were told to wait for the next shuttle, which would come back in 20 mins, or just have the 2 drivers go and get the vehicles and come back to pick up the rest of us. The wait wasn't a problem at all, so our party of 8 waited at the pickup location. The problem came when the shuttle coordinator came and told us that it was going to be a long wait for the shuttle to clear security again to get us. She said that she had just spoke with the driver, and that it would be much faster if we left the pier and waited at the intersection about a 10 min walk from the pickup area. She reassured us that the driver will pick us up at the intersection and will have room for all 8 of us. This sounded good to us, as it would save us all time. So our party left our place in line at the shuttle pickup and departed for the intersection. After getting to the intersection, we waited about 15 mins or so only to see our shuttle pass us by to go BACK into the pier. The shuttle loaded up people at the pickup location, and then the shuttle coordinator drove out to the intersection where she sent the 8 of us and told us the shuttle didn't have room for the 8 and she can only drive our 2 drivers back to where the shuttle was. What the f kind of customer service is this? Very clearly, they never intended for all of us to get on the shuttle because they only had 1 running every 20 minutes, and it was shared between 3 rental companies. There was a line up of people who were also waiting behind us. If all 8 of us waited at the pickup location, they'd HAVE to let us on, so they sent us on a wild goose chase to get us out of the way. If they had just been honest in the beginning and told us that they'd only take the drivers to begin with, we wouldn't have had to waste so much time. I can only conclude that Enterprise doesn't care about their customers' experience, as they only seem to provide a shuttle seat to a person that pays for the car rental, and not the rest of the people in the party. If you're going to advertise "We'll pick you up", maybe be a bit more honest and say "We'll only pick up 1 person per paid vehicle". Absolutely ridiculous. We have always been loyal customers of Enterprise but this has left a terrible taste in my mouth, and we will most certainly never be booking any car rentals through Enterprise again. read more

Probably one of the best and the quickest rental car experiences I've ever had. Why hadn't I rented with Enterprise before?? We got there and there was one group in front of us. It only took about five minutes for them to finish and it was our turn. He took my card and ID and pretty much a few minutes later he was finished. He asked if we wanted insurance and was fine with a no. No pressure, no lies about a $12,000 car being worth $40,000, or statements about how getting into an accident would increase my insurance, he simply moved on. After confirming the total he asked which car we wanted. That was a first; I never had the option before. He finished up and walked us over to our car so we could inspect it. After asking if it was okay, that was it and we were off on our way. The return was pretty much just as simple. We parked the car in the designated return stalls, the worker came over and quickly looked over the car and that was it. It's also very convenient that the rental car center is right across the street from the airport so you don't have to wait for a shuttle. Happy with my experience here and would happily return. read more

The agent was very nice, thorough, and provided quick service. We were able to take a Jeep Patriot at no extra charge as there were no sedan's available at the time. Rented a compact (Corolla or similar) from Enterprise, but through Expedia. Arrived in Hilo and went to the counter at the airport. Clerk advised me that my car was located outside of the airport, with no shuttle service (would have to take a taxi to their site in Hilo), or he could do the same, but need to include the associated airport taxes, etc. Needless to say that I happily rented from the clerk at the airport and paid the additional charges, that probably would have been near the taxi charges I would have had. The clerk asked me to hold on a minute while he checked a vehicle that was recently returned that morning. It was a Hyundai Elantra, something that I've no previous experience with, but figured this car looks a lot roomier than what I reserved. He changed the rental agreement to reflect the larger vehicle and led us to the new car. The larger car worked out great, car drove effortlessly, was quite frugal on the gas, and lots of trunk space for us to bring home goodies from our relatives on the big island! Reserved online for a full-size sedan. Was given a discount at check in for Jeep Cherokee so took it. The lady who helped us was very professional. Returning was much simpler than I thought. Filled the tank at Aloha gas station, closest to the airport. At the car rental place, a worker used a handheld device, checked the car and directly printed us a receipt. We didn't even have to go through the counter. The industry practice of charging $26.99 for CDW and it covering only the car not liability is outrageous! I usually rent a car from Budget since they've been cheaper than any other rental companies and I like our corporate account discounts. On my last trip to Hilo, I happen to check Enterprise's prices which turned out to be cheaper than Budget's so I booked my rental with them. When we arrived, the young lady who helped me offered me a free upgrade (a fairly new car)--woohoo! She walked us to the car and I automatically started doing a visual check for damages. She also did a walk through pointing out damages which I didn't see. When we returned the car, there were no open stalls but there was a guy there, who seemed to be waiting for us, and showed us where to park. He gave me a receipt so i didn't have to go back to the kiosk and we were on our way within minutes. It was a great experience and I will definitely be sure to check them out on future trips. read more

Enterprise continues to be one of the best with easy to go website and great service by young enthusiastic people. Biggest nit remains ensuring interior windows are cleaned so there is not the normal car window haze that means after renting one has to stop at a gas station and clean the inside of the windows for a less cloudy drive. read more

The location was very convenient for both pickup and drop off. The only complaint I have is that the car still had tape marks on it from the tape that holds the doors closed when it is being shipped.
