tried to rent an additional day...called overnight to add a day, my fault - card did not go thru - it was an accident, I didn't transfer funds as I have different accounts for different things. Enterprise said card was now locked and I had to do this in person In the morning. I arrived in the morning and let the location know. They ran the card 2 times it did not go thru. I told them funds are there it is locked in your system. The person didn't believe me and suggested I call the bank which I did in front of him and the bank said they got no attempts on their side. I told them again the their Enterprise system locked the card on their side and the issue did not come from the bank. They kept insisting it was the bank and when I got upset they said they were not going to talk to me with my raised voice and to make sure I gave them the key because I was not allowed to leave with it - I could not have another day. My response was that I was not a thief. yes, I gave them the key back and now writing this review. In the middle of these events #2 below was going on as well at the location at the same time. 2) I called the 1-888 number and asked for a manager at 1-888 number. The person who answered was nice but didn't know how to help the situation as she tried to run the card thru snd it didn't go thru. I then asked for a manager. The manager typed in the info I gave her and sent it to the people I was talking to in front of me. Then she hung up on me. After my initial review, I talked with a staff member (an exchange not worth noting here ... and that's me being charitable), then the manager (J something, sorry). Without too much additional conversation, the manager invited me to swap the car I received for another. I was satisfied with the second car, a much fresher (12k mi) car of same make and model. The process to swap cars was easy, as was the process to return the 2nd car. I'd give another half star if I could, but can't round up to another whole star for the following reasons. Upon reflection, the initial encounter with staff was unnecessarily bumpy. While courteous, the staff/customer service agent/representative aka Enterprise's "public face" had not been sufficiently trained. Besides other small stuff not worth mentioning here, the response to my question about why, after noting my ID, CC# and collecting a security deposit on **an insurance rental,** Enterprise needs the name of my employer could not possibly be the answer Enterprise wanted me to hear. That nutty response not only (1) had me mildly annoyed about (a) privacy and (b) staff knowledge before I even left the desk but (2) was laughable coming right before giving me a worn, old-ass car. To be clear: I was grateful to get one of the few cars available; the high mileage hit differently because that goofyass half-answer about "high-value cars blablabla" was so very (very) fresh in my head. When I followed the staff recommendation to call the next day to see if inventory created other options for me, (different?) staff gave me grief about wanting to swap before the manager resolved the issue. Training, training, training. What with policies on collection and use of customer information that apparently are not easily explained, I will always tell Enterprise (and any other inquiring car rental agency) that I am UNEMPLOYED or RETIRED. If Enterprise doesn't rent to the unemployed, don't bury the lead - make that ish clear. If employment status is not a dealbreaker, then my status and/or place of employment is extraneous to the transaction. What's the big deal? To give only one example, ask a survivor of recent domestic (or other) violence how willy-nilly disclosure of employer name/address might matter. read more

I caught an 80 dollar Uber to location and had to catch it back. they could have told me that they would not have had cars available and I would have respected it since I put my reservation in yesterday. Would give zero stars if possible, reservation was completely useless. This is basically the same as having walked into an Enterprise with zero reservation anyways - actually, it's worse because we had an expectation of a reservation that was not upheld. Reserved a car online several days prior, called to confirm everything was fine with insurance. The day of, we called the Enterprise branch and they say they don't have any of our reserved car size available and need to postpone for two hours, but they'll definitely have a car then and we don't even need to call ahead to check. Bit annoying, but fine. Later, we call again to 100% confirm whether they have a car before making our way over there, and they say "Whoops we won't have a car at that later time either." We're told there isn't anything they can do to get us into a different car, at the same rate or even a different rate. We're told to try calling a different Enterprise service entirely, and we're told we won't get comped for any ride to that different Enterprise location. Horrible experience. read more

I was involved in an accident and was told that I could pay the insurance rate and insurance deposit for three days and then going forward everything would be turned over to Allstate to provide coverage. Matthew gave me false info, charged my card for close to $500 without consent and the manager Jessica was not willing to help. Given that they deal with issues like this daily, I would expect the process and the employees to be more aware of insurance involvement/processes. Would highly recommend using another location, or maybe even another rental service altogether. Will not refund me the money, I now have to wait for Allstate to reimburse me. Employees and management do not take accountability for providing false information. They do not value clientele or making customers happy, as long as they are getting their money - your concerns are not their problem. Did not receive a confirmation of payment in my email. Was totally blindsided when I opened my bank account. read more

Because of my interaction with him, I feel more comfortable and will definitely give this location another try. *********************************************************** HORROR STORY!!!! I rented a car from the Houston Greenway location (3777 Southwest Fwy). The car was dropped off at 10:53am on Sunday, June 7, 2020 (please see the photo with date/time stamp). As you can see there is no damage to the windshield. I placed the keys in the drop box as instructed. When I left there was a tan truck with the engine running on the side of the building. At 4:53PM today, I called the site and spoke with Josh. I inquired about why I hadn't received my receipt. Josh told me he would check and placed me on hold. About a minute later, Anthony got on the phone to ask how he could help me and I explained the same to him. He placed me on hold. When he came back he asked me what happened to the windshield because it was damaged. I told him that the car was not damaged when I dropped it off. I even went as far as to describe what the entire parking area looked like when I left. I then asked if the car was damaged why hadn't I received some type of communication. I received no phone call, no text, no email...nothing. His response to my question...we were really busy today. That is not an acceptable answer. I then asked for the regional manager's information and he was hesitant about giving me that. I have no proof of damages. I asked about cameras on your site as I am sure they do not have a car lot that does not have cameras to reflect things that occur when you are not available. I asked for a picture of the said damages and Anthony said he would send it. However, what I received instead was at 5:14PM was a text asking for a customer service review and an email about a loss damage report. How am I supposed to know that the damage didn't occur after Anthony got to the site at 7AM today? I finally received an email at 6:33PM reflecting the rental agreement as closed BUT with the receipt reflecting a $200 reimbursement/damage loss. Incidentally, there was no loss damage documentation provided to me at any time BEFORE I made the call to find out about my receipt. I still have no proof of the damages. I have never received such incompetent responses from a manager ever! This is my second consecutive issue with Enterprise in 2 consecutive rentals regarding not receiving rental agreement closures and improper billing. I do not understand why I need to call to make sure that Enterprise does it's due diligence to bill correctly and close out agreements. I was a customer of Enterprise some years back however I switched to National because the customer service became subpar. I only went to Enterprise because the National rental in the Galleria is temporarily closed due to COVID-19. I recently rented a car from Enterprise. I normally go through Avis because: they're close to work, I know their cars, and I usually get a better deal with them. This time, Enterprise offered to pick me up and was cheaper by twenty dollars. Ha, ha, ha. Hmm. I had a pickup time in the morning; I had to make a meeting three hours away, and was allowing myself plenty of lag time. The person who picked me up, called for directions. I thought this to be odd. They couldn't use Mapquest or Google for that? With my specific directions, and coming from all of two miles away, the employee arrived at my house an hour later than my arranged pickup time. This includes the few times they called because they were lost. Huh? On the drive to the lot, the employee almost blew through a red light on a busy street. Glad I mentioned that the light was red; there were cars in the middle of the intersection. I noticed from their website that their fleet includes Toyotas. Apparently Prius' too, but only at the airport locations. Toyota's make nice rental cars. Reliable, not many blind spots, cheap on gas. I was given a Dodge Caliber. It seems that this is the only car they have on this lot. Tons of Calibers. Pretty to look at from the outside, horrible drive. It shakes once you accelerate past 50. The back window is like a porthole, but I was thankful for this porthole, otherwise I would have been reversing and changing lanes COMPLETELY blind. Would I rent from here again? Well, to refer to that old adage: you get what you pay for. And no, saving twenty dollars was not worth missing the meeting, almost getting in an accident, and not being able to see out of the back of a rental car in a strange town. Very positive experience. Good choice of cars at relatively good prices. Since I reserved online, I wasn't sure what particular make/model I would end up with. The car I ended up getting was in really great shape, very clean and easy to drive. The service was beyond nice and attentive when picking up and returning the car. I was unfortunate enough to have the need for 30+ days of rental TWICE within a few months thanks to car accidents, but I was lucky enough to handle my GEICO rentals through this location. I made the mistake of using some of my Hertz points for a car the following week, and the rental experience was a nightmare in comparison. I've rented hundreds of cars for business travel all over the US, and the team at this Enterprise location tops the list. I didn't get the names of all the employers here, but I can tell I was in the right place. Every enterprise I have entered or contacted through phone was HORRIBLE. Oh my gosh, worse experience and time of my life trying to deal with this company! I memorized their "on hold commercials" because I have been on hold with more than 5 places each day for more than 15 minutes. I usually give up after 15 minutes and call another branch. I got dropped off at this branch after work by a co-worker in hopes of renting a car because earlier their systems were down. The staff was so friendly and while I was on hold with my torturous insurance company, I witnessed so many pleasant encounters with customers. They actually build relationships with their customers. Like there was actual hugs and "How did that family party go?". I was shocked! Drew helped me personally and so did this other kind man. They predicted I would have to wait for someone to drop off their car in order for me to get one, since they didn't have any availability. They kindly helped me and expedited my visit as much as they could. Drew was so sweet. I was as cranky as ever and basically wanted to tell off my insurance company, but he kept a cool personality and tried to lessen the tension. He basically spoke to the insurance company for me and spoke on my kinder behalf rather then my cranky self at the moment. Interacting with him felt so personably and not what I have been dealing with for the last 2 weeks from Enterprise. Their slogan of family owned is represented soley by this branch and thats it. I haven't witnessed this sort of wonderful staff from any other branch, and I have contacted more than 15 in the last two weeks. I highly praise this branch! read more

I live about a block from here and have been using this location for years now. Always great and timely service, no complaints, but I never really had a reason to go out of my way to write a review on them. This past week I had a morning pickup with them at 7am, had to be somewhere at 8am that I absolutely couldn't miss. Completely slept in, my fault, running super late, show up to this location at 7:30am fairly confident I'm missing my meeting. Instead, Steven crushed it. Had me in and out in no time, at least an order of magnitude faster than any other rental pickup I've done, all while remaining professional and courteous. Steven single-handedly saved my bacon. Over the past 5 years I have gone here at least 4 times a year, sometimes more, and their customer service is always first rate. Typically they are able to help immediately, and they take the time to make sure everything was spot on when I return it. Even post-flood when they are overwhelmed, they are helpful and courteous. A few times someone hadn't returned "my vehicles" on time and they were so helpful by letting me know exactly when they thought they may have a replacement. I usually rent from the Greenway location in Houston and I get excellent service. I tried to rent a car at the South Loop location yesterday but cancelled due to the fact that the car was dirty and missing a hubcap. They said it would take 30 minutes for it to be washed so I just cancelled my reservation. Cars need to be ready before renting to public. It was a week day so it wasn't as busy. read more
