Renting a car was fast and easy. We went thru Priceline and reserved a full size SUV. When we got there that morning, we were told that they didn't have any in stock. At first we were a little disappointed, but they told us that because Priceline is a third party company they don't know what they have in stock or not. Understandable. But he did get us into a 7 seater smaller suv, and made up for it by giving us a discount for all the hassle. It was really fast. Credit card, license information, got the car in the front, inspected it for any noticeable damages, one signature and done. After we used it for a day, I went to return it. I gave him the keys, he said thanks and that was it. It was the fastest and smoothest transactions I've ever had with a rental car company. Highly recommended!!! read more

After I had to get an unsafe car from Avis towed that essentially stranded me and my dog in the Catskills for several days, the staff here stepped up to get me a car so I could get home and helped me find a ride from where I was staying TO Enterprise with the dog so the transition could be as smooth as possible! They also nicely offered me several upgraded options for free and let me choose the car that worked best for what I needed. They walked me through the inspection at my own pace and answered every question I had so by the time I pulled out, I felt confident I was in a safe, secure vehicle that got me and my beloved dog where we needed to be. After Avis left me high and dry, it was such a relief that my return trip was made so much easier by the friendly and knowledgeable staff! Thanks again!!! read more

CONTINUED FROM LAST REVIEW ... to show proof of a "utility bill" or "insurance cards" with my "physical address" and not my mailing address being that my "valid" NYS driver's license has my mailing address on it and not my physical address in order to "accept" my bank (debit) card on behalf of the company and again in which is previously on file with the company to process as a "credit card" in which again, my bank card can be utilized either way. Although I did not have any tangible utility bill to prove my "physical address" on me, the representative then suggested if I could pull up my "insurance cards" through my phone to utilize as proof in which I was able to comply in doing so. (#6) Then the representative confirms the rental for just "one" day with me and grabs a key fob, scans a barcode on it into a computer system in front of him and then tells me to follow him outside to do an inspection of the vehicle before what I presumed handing over the keys to me for the rental. Little do I realize, that this is a decoy to have another adamant excuse to quickly dismiss me without view of his prejudice actions within view of the company's cameras and in front of his other fellow employees and / or supervisor if any present in which two other males were present there within the building and "no female" employees / representatives during this time. The vehicle the representative takes me to on the lot, appears to be a black, sporty, "compact vehicle" with extremely non-factory, dark tinted windows all the way around except the front windshield, with a huge dent on the left side of the rear in which he pointed out from a previous return affixed with "Ohio" state license plates. It was not the neat and clean visibly appeared, white color, mid-size family vehicle that I had previously reserved online through their website in which I had opted for an additional $1.20 more upgrade for the price before finalizing my reservation prior being that I had planned on putting my children in it with me for the day plus the roughest looking vehicle on there lot opposed to a much nicer and / or other decent vehicles there, smh. But nonetheless I was still grateful in spite of how this representative was treating me with such ill regard and especially after such a long walk on the highway just to get there more so for my senior parent than I, who had accompanied me yesterday for the day. (#7) After the walk around (inspection) of just the "outside" of the vehicle thus far, because we hadn't even gotten to the specs of the inside yet, the representative still displays an "adamant attitude" towards me in having me electronically sign for "additional" insurance before completing the inspection for the vehicle which by the way states that it's "optional" through the company's electronic device (tablet) for the customer even though I previously showed proof of current insurance through my insurance carrier to this representative to utilize on the rental, along with confirming the total amount due for "a single day" which was a little shy of $100.00. (#8) With all of this being finalized in spite on how this particular representative is treating me as if my presence alone is disrupting him to deal with me as a potential customer, giving me such a difficult time to simply rent a vehicle for the day which was nearly an hour process with him and presenting me with the most roughest, non-family appearance vehicle on the lot, this representative now states to me that I would have to give him an even more additionally $300.00 plus dollars, which is "extortion" and "illegal" as a "7 to 10 business day of a refundable security deposit" once I return the vehicle or "unfortunately" he is unable to rent me the vehicle for the day!! I was "Livid", "Devastated" and "Exhausted" with such "DISCRIMINATION" by this point as if I felt my time was being wasted by this representative who had no intentions renting this previously reserved vehicle to me with "no logical" explanation after complying with "everything" this "man / representative" had requested of me and / or stated to me to present to him through his antics and tactics having put me through this ordeal, all while utilizing the company's policy as leverage in excuse after excuse to do so, resulting in my not being able to simply rent the vehicle as if it's through him personally and not the company, and not because I didn't have the money to do so but because of the principle of the matter I was subject to as a "black woman"! If you are a black person, (male or female) in need of a vehicle through Enterprise, located there in Hudson, NY, "DO NOT" go there to them and seek another alternative means of transportation at a different car rental company that does not put employees into power of position that will discriminate against your ethnicity or simply utilize your two feet that God has blessed you with!! It takes only "one" representative to either be an asset or a liability to a company read more

We were stranded due to a car that broke down on our way to vacation, and very happy to find an available car at this branch. We were ticketed while driving a rental from this location (Hudson, NY) for driving without a current registration sticker. Eventually they refunded us for the price of the ticket but now my wife has this violation in her driving record. I assumed that when they said they would take care of it, that they would pay it at the clerk of courts and request the drivers record be expunged but they refused to take responsibility for their error. Our only avenue is to hire a lawyer to refute the ticket and drive 600 miles to the court room while taking days of vacation time. This is NOT OK! read more

A cautionary tale. When I returned my car 48 hrs after checkout I was told that my charge was for three days not two; the rate was calculated on calendar days. I flipped out since this formula had not been disclosed when I rented the car. After I raised a fuss, the manager adjusted the charge to two days. This "switch and bait" tactic soured the experience. I have rented a car from this Enterprise a few times with no complaints, except I am always seem to be pressured to pay an extra $20 for collision insurance as I'm told that it is likely that my credit card doesn't have enough coverage. I have not looked into this, which I should, but I just hope it's not overkill for me to pay the extra 20 bucks as that makes renting a car there a little pricey. Aside from that, staff very pleasant and all else has gone smoothly. read more

Called before arriving at the Hudson Amtrak Station and Jay picked me up no problem, 10 min drive to Enterprise in Hudson, very nice staff (the young Enterprise lady agent was especially sweet) and was on my way in no time. A quick pickup by Abby W. at the Amtrak station and an accommodating vehicle for my week long scouting trip through the counties of the Hudson River Valley. Policy, insurance options and a great rate through my union were all made clear to me as quoted on their website. The remainder of my deposit was returned to me promptly and I would rent from them again on a return trip. The car, a Dodge Dart '15, got a little dusty and dirty but that was all taken care of when I returned it so I could take a stress-free ride back into the city. Disappointed, my friend was to pick up her car and was told since she was coming from one state to another she needed a major credit card. When the arrangements were made, they were not told to bring their credit card, however, they don't have major credit cards, just a debit card and that was not acceptable, however, the salesman told them to bring the debit card. Suggestion, to re educate their sales person so this doesn't happen again to a traveler. read more

I have never given a bad review to any business, but this called for it. I requested a pickup for a car rental a few days ago to get to an appointment. 15 minutes after the scheduled time, I call to see what's going on, and Jay, an enterprise employee says the driver will be here in 15 more minutes. When I call back again, Jay says the employee is 10 minutes away from their Hudson location, where he is headed, and not to my place 20 minutes away from Hudson. No apology for being an hour late, no apologies for the outright lie. I had to ask someone to drive me to and from the appointment. read more

The only reason I didn't select Five Stars is because you folks turn off the local rental office phone at 6pm and I usually arrive by train to be picked up near that time. The staff is incredibly helpful and will work late if the 5:15pm train arrival time goes after 6pm which I greatly appreciate. So, 5 stars to the staff, but 4 stars to turning off the phones at 6pm. read more
