The young man, Harvey Craig I believe his name was, was just closing up for the day heading to his own friends wedding so didn't really have time to re-open the place up but thankfully after explaining my sitiation Harvey (god bless ya) opened up the place and gave me the papers to fill etc and I was off on my way. Ironically, as it is situated on an industrial area in Hunslet you do need a car to reach the office in order to hire a vehicle - but it is a short taxi ride from the train station if you do not have one. The office is quite small, but it serves it's purpose and the staff are very helpful and polite. In order to hire a van you do need documentation - your full driver's licence, a recent utility bill (to prove your address details) and you also need to provide your debit or credit card details and place a small (ours was £50) deposit, assumingly to cover any small accidents you might have (we didn't have any problems and got ours back less than 10 minutes after returning the van). The quality of the vehicles is excellent; our van was clean, in good condition and easy to drive. At £50 for the day it was a lot cheaper way of moving house as opposed to a professional move company and of course we were responsible for our goods, which was reassuring. The small transit we took more than suited our needs and held a 2 seater sofa easily. As we had the van all day we were able to also take it to IKEA which was very handy as normally they charge for delivery for items you cannot fit in your car. Service and price I will give 5/5 for and I will be happy to use them again when I move house in a fortnight.

We were within 10 miles but to our surprise the Hessle branch would not pick us up. We called the Scunthorpe branch and we were told, they did not have any drivers until after 3pm, which I found hard to believe since I was calling at 8am. Scunthorpe would also not pick up in Barton (something about crossing the bridge and that only pick up locally). None of this made sense. We went into a bit of a panic because all our holiday plans were dependent on getting to our next destination and subsequent destinations. After ringing a few places, we reached Aaron at the Hull branch. I explained the situation, after a brief hold, Aaron came back on the line and advised that one of his colleagues would be on his way. Within the hour, Ricky Heatley (Manager Trainee) appeared! Ricky was professional, pleasant and well dressed. Upon arrival, Ricky went into action to get us on our way. It was a busy morning! While we waited, we observed the entire Hull team members in action. All were very customer centric and did what they needed to do, to get the customers on their way, even assisting with washing cars in suits. Hull Enterprise really took charge and provided superior customer service. Thank you Ricky Heatley for making our holiday a memorable one.

Your staff did everything imaginable to help me recover the phone, including driving me back to the train station where I'd last used it. In luck, I got it back. Throughout the process, everyone was compassionate and understanding. When returning the car, we got a friendly welcome, and congenial conversation with the area manager and office manager, who again offered to drive us to the station where we were headed.

Amazing experience…read more I had a replacement car from this branch of Enterprise after being involved in a non-fault accident that left me without a vehicle to go to work. I had three people in specific that made this experience a very stress free and quick one: - Abbie: She made sure I was up to date with the procedures and timeframes of my rental including being very understanding when my insurance company didn't pass me on the correct details of my vehicle return date. She also noticed that at the end of my rental I had left my keys in the car and promptly arranged for its' delivery to my residence as I couldn't pick it up. due to schedules mismatch - Kyle: For making my post accident experience of having to get a replacement car go so smoothly. - Taco: The legend who went out of his way to deliver my keys to my residence! All and all a great experience with them and will definitely use their services again in future!

I have been renting cars for 35 years. Worst experience ever…read more Never, ever rent a car with Hertz in the UK. Ever. Simple fact. If a stone hits your windshield just from normal driving they will charge you for it. No fault of your own. Trucks kick up stones that chip windshields all the time. So I was charged a huge amount of money for something I had no control over. In the US rental car companies check at what's your fault and not. In the UK I guess Hertz wants to saddle the consumer with all risk. So it's not worth it. Plus I ordered and confirmed an automatic but the reservation was somehow changed into a manual? Hmmm? But either way if you rent a car with Hertz your risking a lot. Unless you bubble wrap your car and park it in a garage your taking your trip and your finances into chance.

York's not exactly a big city, but it was big and daunting enough under the circumstances--and such that I timed the rental to be before rush hour on either end (this location doesn't open until 8 and I wanted to get the hell out of dodge at least an hour before then). So they rented me the car, but the woman running the show was so friendly and funny and engaging that it made most of my fear melt away, and we were able to drive back to the hotel to tell the tale.
