So I had to arrange someone to drop me off and I live about 40 miles away. I was going to have them pick me up at my work location but that didn't work. When I arrived I got a small car that was dirty only half a tank of gas and had expired tags. I realized the tags were expired when I made it back to my work and then had to drive back and request a different car. When I told him the tags were expired he said he knew and his only other car also had expired tags but they were worse expired meaning older. So he knew the tags were expired when he let me drive off the lot. What a joke. And during this whole ordeal he was arguing with me like I was wrong. Then he calls another location and ask for a favor. And ask for them to switch me out with one of their cars. So then I had to drive across town in a vehicle that had expired tags to get changed out and I had to wait for a car to be ready.

While I understand that things will occasionally happen this is the 3rd time I've had to leave this location and drive to Lexington to get a rental. At least on the prior occasions the staff would book the new rental in Lexington for me, not today, no apology, no here let us help you get a rental at another location, nothing.... Just book at any other company in Lexington and save all the grief of dealing with this location.

Yet this trip was very different from most, I was assigned a vehicle at the counter(Hyundai Kona) which was fine until I got in the car. This was not fully inspected or cleaned before I received keys to the vehicle. There was a banana peel under my driver seat, Hilton receipts in the back seat, the carpet was not vacuumed it had plenty of debris especially being that it snowed in the previous days before my arrival and the interior had a very unpleasant odor probably from a cigarette smoking driver. I did notice that this vehicle did not have a "no smoking" sticker on the dashboard which is abnormal for me. Do I need to request non-smoking vehicle moving forward? As a customer I feel like it should be mandated that it is a non-smoking vehicle for the safety of all customers. Overall, I was very disappointed with the experience being that National usually provides exceptional service. The only part of the car that was tended to was the exterior.

He had lots of trouble with the computer system and wrote me out a handwritten receipt. But then, alas, the car had signs on that the tire pressure was low but I couldn't figure out which tire, and then it kept flashing maintenance required. I expressed this to the employee, but he said, "I don't know how to work these new cars." ‍ Thank God, made it to my location safely and no tires were busted or out of air, since I wasted more of my time and money to fill in air and make sure each tire was filled to the rightful amount. Basically, budget & Avis aren't the best rental companies, and if you have a choice, go elsewhere. My review is strictly reflected on timely service, and the vehicle.

Booked a small SUV AWD at this Hertz location for my trip…read more My flight was delayed so it was 15 minutes before closing time for the location. Even though I had called Hertz corporate number and they said if your flight is delayed they'll wait for you up to 2 hours after the location closes. When I got there the customer rep said I was going to close up when it's closing time, so we were extremely lucky flight wasn't delayed any longer. First bad sign. I took the car that was given to me without asking whether it was AWD because it was late, I just assumed I got what I booked. I got Kia NIRO, later found out KIA NIRO models don't have AWD. Called Hertz and just got gaslighted by the rep on the phone for why I wasn't given a AWD: 1. i was given class B3, that's not AWD. OK that's your corporate lingo, how do I know what's B3 means. On my reservation I booked small SUV AWD 2. she started listing all the models that would be AWD, ok sure those are not the models that I got. I don't know much about cars models and features, why are you telling me this and how is this useful to me 3. just long back and forth of me telling her I booked AWD and was not given a AWD and she not giving a straight answer of why I wasn't given a AWD 4. I asked to talk to her supervisor and then was put on hold or she just went completely silent and never heard from her again. I hung up after 5 minutes of silence Terrible customer service The airbnb cabin I booked said they highly recommend a AWD to go up a steep driveway that's paved but sometimes could be really muddy or icy, and some of the days for the trip were very cold and wet. We did make it most of the way to the cabin but couldn't go all the way. Oh yes, return was also confusing. There were no more Hertz spots left in the rental car lot and I had no idea where I could park. It was 4:30AM and no employees around. One of the other Hertz customers returning parked on a spot that had those zebra lines close to the Hertz area so I just copied because I don't know where else I could go. Glad it worked out. Another customer was returning after me and she also circled around forever.

Anything I should've prepared beforehand should have been relayed to me somehow, but it was not. I needed the car to return home that day, but due to the inflexibility of the staff and their downright refusal to help my situation in the slightest, I walked out of there without a car stranded for multiple days. If you're looking for a sure thing, look somewhere else.

Brandenburg's Budget truck rental gave us a trailer and truck with defective lights and when told about the issue they basically told us it wasn't their problem and to call roadside assistance. I feel like they should have called someone for us seeing as it was their fault we were in that situation. After 2 1/2 hours on the phone with customer service and after trying to speak with 8 robots, I finally got someone to help us. Roadside assistance failed to fix the issue when called and because they were not prepared, made matters worse by taking the windshield wiper fuse and putting it into the running lights fuse. They did not tell us they did this. I assure you if they had, this would not have been ok with us, nor would it had been up to company standards, I would hope. We didn't find this out until we hit rain in Austin, TX and almost had a multi-vehicle accident. Also, the fuel gauge was broken on the DEF fuel which caused us to feel unsafe and fill up for no reason. Our lives and those of others were placed in harms way because of the negligence of not only the budget truck rental place we rented from in Lexington KY, but because of the ill prepared service men who were called upon to assist us for roadside service. Our whole trip was grueling, unsafe and a nightmare to say the least. Things happen and can go wrong, and we understand that, but the bottom line is that when they do, customer recovery is a big deal. In this situation, I would expect to be reimbursed for the full amount of the rental since nothing was inspected properly before it was given to us, nor was it fixed when called by roadside assistance. The only reason we are not suing them for what they would've had to pay if we had an accident due to their negligence is because we were LUCKY. I had to witness my father swerve to miss three different vehicles in a matter of seconds when it started to rain because THEY TOOK OUR WINDSHIELD WIPERS FUSE AWAY! Why not take a fuse from somewhere less necessary? Or HERE'S an idea, why not show up to your job PREPARED with fuses?! Who does this??!! This is not how a reputable company should do business. Worst experience ever. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. EVEN IF YOU HAVE TO PAY A LITTLE MORE WITH SOMEONE ELSE, DONT GO WITH BUDGET TRUCK RENTAL COMPANY!!!!
