Great place to rent a car. I frequently am renting cars from this place for leisure trip or a trip to JFK/Boston airport to pick/drop my family. This time I have booked a minivan for JFK trip and have special requirement for a 8 seat minivan. So that I can get a 3 seat in the middle row and my baby infant can sit near to the Mom and 3 year old daughter also can sit in the middle row. Also I have 10 luggage's to carry. Wow!!!. I have followed up with them for this requirement one day before and also the very morning of the renting day. Not guaranteed answer from some senior employees. But just before my actual booking time I got a call from Nicole and said she found a 8 seat minivan for me. She is found this from some other enterprise far from Manchester. What I know from others is that she is a new employee in enterprise. She did a good work .Great work Nicole!!!. She reached my home to pick me with that car the exact time that I need. The ride was good and my family was extreme comfortable with that trip. As my experience this a great place to renting a car. Long story short. There was an accident involving my rental car. I followed the process of filing a claim with my insurance company and Enterprise. On my way to Enterprise, I stopped by to see a mechanic friend of mine at a local body shop to get a rough estimate of the damages. While examining the car, my friend noticed the front driver's side tire was worn down to the steel bands on the inside. He wanted to call the police and have the car impounded because it was not safe for me to drive. I told him not to that was only driving to Enterprise to return the vehicle. He told me he would not be responsible if something happened. I arrived at the branch and explained the situation to the assistant branch manager who just argued with me and downplayed my complaint. She then proceeded to advise me that because of the accident, I was being placed on their DNR list. I had not transportation and all my belongings were inside the rental vehicle. She stated there was nothing she could do and that she was closed and wanted to go home. She then locked me out of the vehicle with belongings still inside. She locked the store and left me stranded outside in the parking lot. The next day I went to retrieve my belongings from the vehicle and they been removed and placed in plastic bags inside the branch. While putting my belongings into my new vehicle, I noticed my backpack missing. This backpack contained life saving medications, my birth certificate, passport, cash and other valuables. I immediately reported it to the Enterprise employee and she made some inappropriate remarks to me, locked the door and left. I contacted the police and filed a police report. I checked with the body shop where the vehicle was towed and they did not have the backpack. That vehicle was in Enterprise's custody from 6 pm Monday 8/24 until towed to body shop. No one has any idea of where the backpack is. Enterprise claims to have reviewed security footage and did not want police involvement. How did my backpack just disappear? That backpack contains an emergency glucose kit that took me 2 years to get and I can die without it. To date, Enterprise has done nothing ro recover the backpack! I reserved a 12-passenger van from this Enterprise location approximately six months in advance for a weeklong family trip to Washington, DC. I also called five days before pickup to confirm the reservation. The scheduled pickup time was 10:30 a.m. Because the reservation had been made so far in advance, I forgot the exact pickup time and also had to work around my partner's lunch break. We arrived at approximately 1:00 p.m. I fully acknowledge that this was my mistake and that we were late. When we arrived, the van was not ready. Because we were working under a tight departure deadline, we asked why. Manager Christopher Hoffman immediately responded confrontationally by asking why we had not arrived on time. He then told us that he had assumed we were not coming and had rented our reserved van to someone else. Despite my confirming the reservation only five days earlier, Enterprise never called, texted, or emailed me before giving it away. The replacement vehicle had just been returned and was clearly not ready to rent. It still contained trash, had not been properly cleaned, and the trim on a passenger seat was falling off beside the van's side entrance. Staff attempted to repair it, but the repair was not completed successfully. When I expressed concern about accepting an unclean vehicle with loose trim, Mr. Hoffman dismissed the issue and said the trim was not important and would be fine. I disagreed. Five children would be climbing through that entrance several times a day for an entire week, so I considered loose trim in that location a legitimate safety concern. I acknowledge that I raised my voice out of frustration. Mr. Hoffman then canceled the rental himself, told me to leave, and left my family of seven without transportation on the eve of our trip. We were forced to completely reorganize our travel at the last minute. Instead of driving the reserved van, we took Amtrak to Washington and rented another vehicle from an airport location after arriving. This caused substantial disruption and additional expense. I later contacted Enterprise and was told that the matter had been escalated and that someone would follow up. The escalation team never called, and Enterprise has provided no meaningful response as of the date of this review. I accept responsibility for forgetting the scheduled pickup time and arriving late. What I cannot accept is Enterprise giving away a six-month-old reservation that I had confirmed five days earlier without attempting to contact me, offering an unclean and unrepaired replacement, dismissing a reasonable concern, canceling the rental, and then failing to follow up. A simple phone call and professional customer service could have prevented this entire situation. read more

Ok one must keep in mind that this not a high volume facility so you could face inventory hang ups. I did experience this and gave grace for an hour disruption from my scheduled pickup time. However it only ended up being a 15min and they accommodated me with an alternate vehicle which was an upgrade from the economy booking I had originally. So I posted a few days ago, september 9 & 10 2022. They sent my calls to a foreign country call center, I could not reach people at a local branch, even though I called the LOCAL numbers (vernon and manchester ct). I went to locals on friday after the call center (evidently on the moon) told me twice there were rentals available at each location.....to find out there were NOT when I arrived at each. These shenanagins cost me a day at work friday night. That said, I ended up Saturday with a rental from Manchester office. The car was clean (except for some cleaner schmeered on the inside of the windshield). The guys in the manchester office really took care of people. I watched them handle a few other customers while I waited. Top notch! I would recommend NOT calling in for a car, but physically drive down to the office and talk to someone there. Friday I got a confirmation number, and there was no car.....don't believe that confirmation number means anything if you reserved over the phone!!! Reserved a full size suv in Feb for next week (7/23 to 7/30 ) and Enterpi Rise in Vernon totally screwed us. Apparently a Ford Explorer is an adequate replacement for full size suv. Worst part is we knew this would happen and called every other moth before our rental to make sure we would have what we rented. So pissed! We use the Enterprise located at the Bradley Airport on a regular basis and love it! We had no qualms about trying the Enterprise on Buckley Road (Manchester). We expected the same fabulous, friendly service and clean, reliable cars to which we had become accustomed. Boy, what a surprise (in a bad way). The Buckland Street office is filthy. The cars are filthy. We had a reservation but when we got there the employees had to take the car to clean it (no, they were not busy). It was still filthy and stinky when it was delivered to us. The tank was below a 1/4 tank full - we are used to receiving a clean, stench-free car that is filled with gas but this Enterprise was surprised at our expectations and very unwilling to work with us. The driver side window would not roll down (we found out when we tried to pay a toll). There is a check engine light on that remained on the entire time. I felt like I paid premium price to drive a beater car - I am very unhappy with my experience and with the long wait for a nasty car. Use the Enterprise at the airport and avoid the Buckland Drive one if you want a great experience and a well maintained car. read more

We had a reservation made by an insurance company after an accident. Upon the initial walk around, the car seemed ok. Once inside and driving, we realized the car reeks of stale weed and vomit. Looking in the back seat, we can see spatter stains that were never cleaned up. The 3D row seat still had dirty napkins and loose change on it from the previous renter. This is gross no matter what, forget during a pandemic. We'll see how the swap out goes.... read more

I have used enterprise numerous times for the weekend special. I use both this location and vernon with no issues. The last time I reserved a car and showed up a little late and they rented the car on me. I was furious as I needed the vehicle to travel. After some back and forth with the manager she upgraded me to the suv. Which was cool but the insurance was much higher. Make sure you show up on time. read more

We had a bad experience here a few weeks ago. Our son had been in the hospital and on the day he was released we had problems with both of our cars (brake pads gone on one and a broken timing chain on the other). When the timing chain broke on our minivan we had one hour to get to Hartford on time to pick up our son. My husband made a reservation with the national Enterprise office for a compact car. It was approved and the reservation was supposedly sent to the Manchester Enterprise. When he called to ask them to pick him up at our repair shop, they said that they didn't receive the reservation. So he had to make a second reservation with the local office and, again, it was for a compact car and he received an email confirmation for this type of car for $50/day. He also told them that we had a time-sensitive situation going on and that they needed to come pick him up right away. It took them a while to get to him and then once he was at Enterprise they told him all they had left was a Jeep for $100/day. It was a total bait-and-switch. We will never use them again. read more

Most of the photos are Enterprise stock photos, but here goes. Pretty standard for Enterprise Rent-A-Car. I rented a Cadillac ATS for the day of my wedding and while the manager did call me after I made my online reservation, he didn't mention I needed to bring in an insurance plan that had collision for another car. So here I wander in, about 4 hours before my wedding (a Saturday) and I then hear that I needed to have collision coverage for another car. And specifically for the driver if I wasn't the driver. Fortunately, my friend who was going to drive the car was able to make those arrangements in about 45 minutes, but this caused my blood pressure to spike about a hundred points. While the website allows you to return the car on the same day or on Sunday, in reality, this Enterprise location did not -- they charged me for two days. My friend took a picture with his iPhone when he put the key in the dropbox later that evening (still Saturday). I complained about both of these items but I have not received a good response. So I guess I'll complain on Yelp and with the BBB. read more

On the plus side, the car was clean and the paperwork was fast. It drove well for the entire two weeks I had the car. However, on the negative end... The car wasn't available when I arrived. Ended up having to take another size car that I had to wait to be cleaned before I could drive away. Why do they have you schedule a time? I was charged for RAP (roadside assistance program) for the entire trip when the only additional charges I authorized were for filling the tank. When I called, I was given the runaround. They said I needed to speak with the person who booked the car for me. She wasn't working that day. Apparently customer service only applies when it's your customer. Didn't receive a callback immediately on the day she was working. I had to track her down at a different store to rectify it. The response was essentially "whoops, sorry!" Apparently it was accidentally tacked onto the other charges. Read: check your statements after you're billed. Also, on the first day that I called I said that I didn't want to be charged anything yet, and not to allow it to get processed on my credit card until everything was resolved. The guy I spoke with said that they wouldn't charge my card until everything was fixed. They charged my card anyway. When my money was returned, I was refunded for the fee alone. I wasn't given back the tax that I paid on the false RAP charge. I did the calculations and it was only about $7. I figured it wasn't worth it, but it's still pretty annoying. read more

We have never had a bad experience and find that they go out of their way to help us find the best rates and a car that is going to fit our needs. Both positive and negative. We have together booked 3 mini vans on 3/25.. In that , I booked one.. I asked them Dodge but they have Chrysler. That s fine. But the negative part is cruise control is not working properly.. I gone for long trip until Vermont from Hartford 10 hours drive 2 ways.. I drove without using cruise control so got full leg pain still exists.. I called time after my trip but they said that cruise control is optional in car and said that i didn't ask for car with cruise control so they refused to help on this. It's annoying, we are paying for rental car in enterprise even they charge more than other vendors by trusting them they wl provide excellent condition car with good customer service but I got disappointed.. Since the recent change in management, seems as though service and accuracy quickly went down hill. I continue to wait on a vehicle even though I make a reservation days in advance. Billing is not accurate and I rent often from them for business use several times per month. Kat, please come back to this location. We certainly miss the service you and your old staff delivered! Often times people use social media as a platform to complain when the slightest disruption occurs within their day and rarely ever is a hardworking person praised for their performance by the public. I typically don't leave reviews on companies but after using this specific office in Manchester several times, often when family is in town, I felt it necessary to. On several occasions I have walked in to see several people usually aggressively haggling with the employees as if to expect something for free, however the people behind the counter are always patient, courteous, and calm. I would imagine this could grow stressful on an employee, but not these guys. Every time I have rented a car at this office, I am greeted with a youthful smile and polite conversation by a professionally dressed person. As I look around at other companies it is rare I receive this "VIP Treatment". Every vehicle my family has rented has been clean and exactly what I expect and often at a great price. When my vehicles are turned in I can barely make it to the counter without someone from the office remembering who we are... (it feels nice to be remembered). We are always offered a free ride which is more than I can say for competing car rental companies. In short summary, I highly recommend this office, not only for their great deals and great cars, but mostly for the service you will receive when renting. - John A. read more
