We had a wonderful experience with Enterprise rent a car in Maplewood, MO. they were very busy, and a client came in needing a car to pick up a newborn. he had a rental scheduled for pick up the day before however he missed it. after a little juggling (all that was available was a truck) Lindsey was able to get him in a smaller suv - despite no extra cars available. The vehicle we got was clean, and ran great along with a full tank of gas which allowed us to get on the road with less stops. I have been renting from the Maplewood, MO location for many years and will continue to do so. Literally the worst rental car place we've ever rented from. We've been waiting over an hour for a car. Now they just gave our car to someone else because it "smelled smoky". They're offering us another car that has been ready the entire time we've been waiting. I asked "so this car has been ready the whole time?" Yup. I had a rental through my car insurance. Called ahead 1.5 hours to confirm my reservation and notified them of the time I was arriving. They confirmed and I assumed all was good. I Ubered to my location and was informed there were no cars available for me at that time but I could wait an hour for one to possibly show up. Dropped my car off at the dealer and was picked up and taken to this location. Overall the process was pretty painless and quick. The girls were great to deal with and super friendly. The car selection was super sad and I was not happy with the car I got. Then again I went there close to the end of the day with no reservation so I can't complain to much. My car was ready as soon as I got there and they even offered me to pick it up earlier if I wanted. I also decided last minute to add another day on and that was no problem for them. Very unprofessional staff, and everyone there has the tendency to say "cool" as a form of "okay" which makes it confusing when you try differentiate between staff members over the phone, especially when they all share the same attitude. The vehicle I have been driving has had its oil change light off and on since two days after pick-up, scratches all over the vehicle, parts of the interior missing, the power steering is atrocious (you can steer it from 11 to 2 oclock and the wheels will continue to go straight), and smelled like cigarettes upon pick-up. I would have asked for another car but this was the only one on the lot that was completely covered for me. I would definitely recommend driving out of your way to a different enterprise so you can avoid this particular one. Staff member Victoria is also harassing as she will repeatedly leave voicemails on your phone and your emergency contact's phone at the eleventh hour but then not be available when called back. I was on vacation for Thanksgiving and my card had declined for the optional insurance I am paying for. When she attempted to reach me at 5pm the night after Thanksgiving to let me know and could not get through, she called my emergency contact at 6pm, which based off the urgency and concern she had, it makes me think they must make some sort of bonus off customers opting for daily insurance. I cannot wait to get my car back and return this tin can because it honestly needs to be taken off the lot. I am so happy to have a job that does not entail working with rental vehicles. read more

I set up a reservation for enterprise to meet me at my house with my rental car at 8 am (I had no car after a car accident- which is why I needed a rental). They did not show up, so I called and was told "oh we're really busy and will be there closer to 10." I called two more times throughout the day, each time being told there would be a delay. Each time waiting on hold for up to 30 minutes. I finally had to arrange childcare and take an Uber to the rental place to ensure I got the car before they closed. I did all of the work ahead of time. I scheduled my car called and was told I would get a new Camry. When I arrived I was welcomed and helped. I paid for the Camry. Then I got to the lot and was told I couldn't drive that car. They said it needed an oil change and would not be ready. How did I schedule and pay for a car that wasn't available. I had some work done to my Nissan down the street and AAA paid for a rental, so I ended up here. AAA does direct billing with these guys, so it made it all easy. I never knew their was an Enterprise office here, but it seems there are like 5 body shops in the area that feed it. The staff are super nice, perky, upbeat, chatty examples of America's Youth on their way up the corporate ladder, no really, not being ironic, everyone was very nice. (is it politicly incorrect to mention the staff here was also super cute?) The car they gave me was in excellent shape for its age, but be warned with Enterprise, they go over the car (mine has 15,000 miles on it) VERY carefully and they will charge you for any dings or scratches, so take this part of the delivery seriously and note any damage before you leave. They also try to really hard sell the optional insurance. read more

I booked a vehicle yesterday for pick up this morning at 7:30am because my car is in the shop. No car was available this morning, and the person I spoke to said there would probably be a car ready at 9am. They promised me a call back when one was ready. As of 11:00am I still have not received a call back from enterprise about the car I booked. I ended up in a panic this morning because I had a critical appointment at 9am and enterprise was unable to honor their reservation. Thankfully I was able to borrow a car from a neighbor very last minute. That will be the last time I ever rely on them for a rental. read more

Here's my lovely enterprise story... Back on August 16, 2018 I started renting from Goshen Indiana and I live in Fort Wayne. I'm a courier and other carriers were renting from this location for $450 a month so that we didn't have to use our own cars. Everything was fine and dandy and then the price went up to $500 a month maybe six months to a year ago which is fine I paid it. I switched out a Nissan versa for a jeep Cherokee on January 8. The prior customer had just returned the jeep Cherokee and the jeep Cherokee had zero gas in it when they gave it to me and there was a small rock crack in the windshield and I was told it was smaller than their meter it was fine. We had temperatures drop drastically and that tiny rock crack spread across the window and Dawg are trying to charge me for it. They also tried to charge my card $50 for gas because I returned it how they gave it to me which was empty. A couple days after I got the jeep Cherokee the lady that was renting to us for $500 a month it was apparently a scam artist and they told us we could no longer rent for $500 a month that we would have to pay normal rates OK fine I was fine with that. I wake up a couple weeks later and there's $505 charged to my card. Back in November and I have text messages to prove this the agent that was renting to us cheaply said the Fort Wayne international Airport jacked up my contract and it look like I owed more than I did.. In December and January and then February she told me I still have to come fix your contract multiple times well she didn't fix it and that's why I was charged the $506. I have called enterprise I don't even know how many times to tell them this is a mistake and I have proof it's a mistake they tell me corporate's going to call me and I have not got a call from corporate at all it's been two weeks. I've messaged enterprise on Facebook multiple times I've helped them I've emailed them and I've called them and I'm getting zero response. They are scam artists like no other I haveI have filed a claim with my bank to get my money back and with all the text message proof I have I'm sure I'll have zero problems getting my money back! This place is a joke and I am so pissed off oh and I have contacted the BBB and the attorney general! They are not getting away with this they also tried to charge one of the other couriers $900 for a month and he didn't even have a car! read more

Insurance set up my rental at the wrong location. When I called to verify pick-up, I was told it would be fixed. It was made for yet another branch. Shortly after my car was towed I get a phone call from the second wrong branch, asking where I was, because they were there to pick me up. I explained the situation. They were rude and finally transferred me to the correct branch. When I explained what time I needed to be picked up, I was told to call back to make sure someone could come. I told them I did not have time to keep calling, and they said they would make sure to make it work. I had asked to be picked up at 4pm. At 4:30pm the CFO of my company (who was in town helping out at our office) informed me the time. I called and was told someone would be to my office in just a few. Since the branch is about five minutes from my office, I gave them 15 minutes, and called. Apparently, the driver was just leaving the branch. I told them not to worry about it, I was on my way. They got testy with me, and told me to just wait he'd be right there. I said I didn't have time to wait anymore. I got to the branch, and an employee walked out the door right by me without even acknowledging my existence. The branch manager saw this, and didn't realize she didn't speak, and I waited a few before offering help because he thought I was waiting on her. He got me set up in my rental. I will not bore you with what happened upon returning the rental to a different location. But, it was just as bad. I contacted Enterprise, and was later contacted by the branch manager at this location. He told me that he was finally refunding me my deposit. He also said he would be sending me a certificate for free rentals. I still have yet to receive this certificate. But, I did get charged $16 today. How is this ok?! read more

I paid for full size car they give a Mini Copper. It has the word Mini in its name. They robbed me and when I complained they told I could wait for while and see if something bigger came. I told them to enjoy the money and next put on a mask if you are going to try to rob me. read more

I usually rent my cars at the STL Airport, just because there are more options, but just a few blocks from my house, in Maplewood, I found an Enterprise location. I've rented here 4 times in 2 months, forced because of corporate policy. Each time, I have booked in advance, anywhere from 1-2 weeks, reserving a compact car. Each time I show up (in the mornings, between 6:30 and 7:30 AM), there are only Grand Caravans. Sometimes 1, sometimes 5, but the only choices are these immense, 9 person stock movers. What's the point of selecting a car type in advance when the only thing I ever get are these immense pieces of domestic dreck? When I provide feedback to the staff, I just get blank looks, as if they can't understand why someone *wouldn't* want one of these barges. Hard to park (unless you're going to a Wal-Mart), clumsy, wasteful of gas, these have nothing to recommend them, unless you are hauling a soccer team around. Absolutely awful experience. I reserved a Nisan Altima online. I had planned to use my American Express card to pay for the purchase so I would be covered by the included insurance. Upon arrival I find out there are no Altima or similar vehicles available. Instead, I was only offered SUVs at a considerably higher price and worse gas mileage. In addition, the representative told me that my card's insurance would not cover the larger vehicle. This turned out to be completely untrue, but I did not know this at the time. I submitted a complaint form on the corporate website and was subsequently contacted by a regional manager - almost a week after I filled out the complaint form. He informed me that he could not refund the insurance that I had paid for for the days that had elapsed while I was waiting for my complaint to be processed. Instead, I could only hope to cancel the remaining insurance if I made an additional trip to their location with proof that my credit card would cover the vehicle. During this conversation, he misleadingly conflated the value of insurance and the potential loss in the event of a claim. While he committed to adjusting the price of the rental, I have not received any written confirmation that this adjustment has taken place. Today, two days before my rental was set to end, I received a call from an agent asking why I had not yet returned the vehicle. I didn't return it yet because my rental isn't over! The only thing that has ended is the possibility that I will be a customer of this company again in the future. Every car I have gotten here has been clean and if there is anything odd/different about operating it they are always good about letting me know. Absolutely no problems and would recommend. I needed the rental for a just over 24 hours while my car was being repaired. I got a phone call from the home office two days ahead, just to confirm all the information I sent on their website form. They picked me up at the car repair down the street [I could have walked it but they insisted], whisked me in and I was in a clean, upgraded car for no additional cost in just a few minutes. We have rented cars from this location 3 times in the last few months and all under different circumstances. The first time was booked in advance for a weekend, another was a last minute emergency rental within last half hour before closing on a holiday weekend and lastly another unexpected rental booked earlier in the day before we needed it. All our experiences were very positive. The staff was friendly and efficient and picked us up each time. Our last minute rental happened at a time when they had rented all their cars but they managed to locate a loaner car for us from a dealer down the street. They went above and beyond even though they worked about a half an hour beyond the closing time that weekend. We recommend this office and their hard working, friendly staff. read more

I get rent a car from Enterprise in Maplewood and the lady who is there helping me told me there was $13 per day for the smallest car and this lady came out from nowhere and she took the iPad from her hands and say I going to take care of this and she is not helping me I don't care at this point who is going to help me and she came out with $25 for the same car and she told me don't worry your insurance going to pay for it anyway I used to work for insurance company and I know how they work and she asked me if I want the protection plan I told her no and she is still put me that protection plan Sochi charge my insurance company $283 and she charged my credit card $220 is for 7 days and I call her to ask her why she did that and she told me like I'm this point she don't care she got initials and hang up on me I called back and she don't answer the phone her name is Melissa Barton she is the branch manager she say but what I mean is you don't try to help the customers because she know she did it wrong that was the last time I going to use this specially that branch read more

I did not receive the answer I was looking for from corporate regarding my reward points so I thought I'd voice the experience here. I was told by the manager Ashton at the Maplewood location that I would be allowed to claim my reward points going back 3 yrs ( she mentioned since I am a loyal customer and rent 2-3 wks per year from Enterprise that there would be no problem recouping those reward points ). Nupe. It is no skin off their noses to keep a customer happy..costs them absolutely nothing! I am a small business owner and if I didn't honor the word of one of my employees I don't believe I'd be in business for very long. A very rude experience with corporate for such a faithful customer, and a customer that has nothing but good too say about this location...and would always give the location 5 stars...it's corporate that needs to train their staff to not be so 'corporate', there is leeway for every situation. I believe Enterprise should honor what was told to me and not to feel like somebody is trying to screw them..I'm not. read more

The guys at this location are great. They go above and beyond to make sure you are happy. They will do what they can to accommodate special requests. The only ding I'd give is that sometimes the cars are not ready exactly when they are supposed to be and the gas tanks are not always full. However I think that is corporate's fault, not the local office. I give the local staff 5 stars, the corporate office 4. read more
