A few days before we were to pick the car up, my husband happened to be by the pick up location and noticed that the building was shut down and the Hertz sign was no longer in place. He called Hertz and asked where we should pick up the car on Saturday, June 1. He was given an alternate pick-up address which turned out to be a truck pick up location only AND when we arrived there was a note stuck on the door which read 'Closed on Saturdays until further notice'. We then spent the next hour on hold with Hertz trying to figure out what to do. Once they answered, the only options were to pick a car up at the airport at double the cost OR void the contract which started Saturday, June 1 and start a new contract starting Monday, June 3. We choose option 2 and went to pick up the car Monday, June 3 at which time we are told having 2 drivers on the car costs $13/day extra. However, the agent said if we signed up as a Gold Member the $13 fee gets waved. We started to sign up, she said there was no need. Just finish the contract, sign up as a Gold Member and call an 800# to apply the difference. You can probably guess what happened based on the stellar service received thus far. We called the office and were told that it would only apply to future rentals. We asked to speak to a manager. There were none available but we could leave our number and hear from someone in 72 hours. Wow. All I can say is do not rent a car from Hertz. It is frustration from start to finish!!

Tyler the former manager there was not bad and he helped me out a couple times with a rental there although the new entourage that is there is extremely unprofessional and look for reasons not to do their job.

Upon getting to the rental desk, located inside the Holiday Inn, the agent had left up a number to call as he was out servicing cars. I called it and he was at the desk quick, my rental ready to go. I got a free upgrade, which was nice, and he pulled the car up and off I went. No issues with the car while traveling, which is always great in my book. I did a box drop off that following Sunday evening. My agreement asked me to fill the car up before dropping my papers and keys into their box. I also left a copy of the gas receipt with the rental agreement as I know at other locations they ask for it. I got a text the next morning that they received the car and my rental was complete. When I requested my rental via their website, I asked for a compact car, and when I arrived to pick up my rental he allowed me to select the color I preferred. They have great hours and all in all, the rental process from start of finish couldn't have gone more smooth. I would also like to add, although there is an Enterprise Rental in Arnold as well, I did try them first, being I would need a ride to and from the repair shop. I found them to be at least $12-15.00 more per day and they were not friendly, nor would they work with me when it came to transportation. I was told by Enterprise that if I wanted a 8am pickup, expect to wait till at least 10. In summary............consider Budget / Avis in Arnold before you even consider Enterprise. I will certainly be back for any future rentals!

The gentleman helping us was nice. He was one of the managers he got me into a Hyundai Sonata. Seemed perfect for my use. During the paperwork he told me that he "hooked me up" with the managers package. After my questioning, he explained if anything went wrong with the vehicle I was not liable. He said it would take the place of the regular insurance usually purchased. Although I appreciated it, I chose the other insurance also. Kind of like a stacker in case something unheard of may happen. Everything seemed fine. He told me he could take it in to vacuum it real quick if I would like. As I looked inside there were a few stray grass clippings but I didn't need it spotless. Just get me to and from work the next few days. So I drove away in my Hyundai a happy man. 2 days later I heard word in my car. I called the customer service number as it was after hours. I explained I could drop it off in an hr or 2. But asked since it was after hrs if I would already be charged for another day. "Depends". Was the answer I got. Do I asked how so? She said well if It was due back by 6 the you will be. But if not you won't. II told her if I'm getting charged for another day I'll just keep it another day. "Well you're going to pay extra" she stated. I'm aware, but since I'm already locked in to the extra day being as it's 6:15 now, I may as well just keep it. "Well of it was due at 6 you should just drop it off now" she added. I went back in and paid at register, thanked him and left. I thanked my mom for the assistance and following me. She had actually used her credit card because all I had in me was a debit card they won't accept debit. I walked inside to another gentleman who said you dropping off,! I said yessir. Do I l I'm eft. I was fine until 5 days later. My mom called and told me on her credit card for those 3 days she was charged $765.00. . After contacting them for 3 days I reached someone who asked for a lot of info llleading me to eventually call with my mother now on day 4. I had to call with my mother on the line. I asked the gentleman when they closed. He told me 9pm they closed at 7. By day 5 I knew I was getting strung around. finally reached them The lady then said she would email a decision in a few days. S days later mom calls again. They charged for me being the driver her the cardholder. . My mom then explained again about the mgr the hookup etc. The lady told us she would look into it again and see what could be done.. 3 more days passed. We got another email. This time a different manager. L. She then started it was actually because I didn't gas it up before dropping it off. My mom told them which gas station I went to , what time, even a description of the person working as I remembered. I added on there if they needed proof I could be seen on the stores camera I'm sure on that day and time getting gas and dropping it off. Yet once again the new manager stated she would ","talk to the gas statíon and get back to us. We are now on about day 10 of verbal disagreement.. A 3rd email from yet another different manager. ----see a pattern forming here??......the last email now stated after investigation it was a fee for not vacuuming when I returned the vehicle.At this point we were done. I contacted them and was in a car within ~1 hr total, a totally last minute reservation, handled extremely well. The staff is EXTREMELY friendly and helpful. My insurance company was completely screwing me over with rental coverage. But the people at this location called and updated me on remaining coverage, worked with me in renting on a day to day basis, understood and sympathized with me more than EITHER insurance company i was dealing with. She offered me top trade for my car and then any issues I have with this car they have addressed and offered me a seven day buyback offer Which most dealers once you drive it off their lot that's it .
