We made a rental car reservation 2 months prior on Enterprise app. We arrived today to pick up our car and they had given our car away. So we had to go with Budget and they took excellent care of us. Stay away from Marathon Enterprise, customer service is lacking. Didn't even call us, we paid for a uber ride to Enterprise for nothing. Enterprise: Current conditions in your reply is no excuse for lack of customer service or phone call. read more

We had a flight cancel from Key West to Fort Lauderdale, and we were looking nearby for a car rental. We found the Enterprise location in Marathon key, and booked through their website. There were apparently many cars available, and I confirmed my reservation. We had to get a ride an hour up to Marathon in order to pick up the car. 5 minutes from our scheduled arrival and pick up time, we received a call that there were no cars available. We were treated rudely, and not given a reason as to why we had a confirmed booking but they could not help us. The staff did not offer any further assistance and seemed to have no sympathy for us being stranded hours from our destination with very minimal options. Would not recommend to anyone. read more

Wish I could leave 0 stars. Car they gave me broke down due to faulty alternator. Called for service and was forgotten. Called again and they told me to wait 2 hours to wait for a tow. waited 2 hours and was told tow was late but that I did not have to wait. They sent an Uber and instructed me to go to an enterprise that had no inventory. Called back and was told they would look into it. I was forgotten. Called again and was told that I had a car. Had to wait until the local enterprise employee returned from break to tell them that this had not been resolved. phone rep said they would escalate call. They then failed to. Called again with local employe ready this time and was sent to another location. 4.5 hours later and I still do not have a car and I missed all my reservations. Enterprise is ruining my vacation. They are sending me to another enterprise 1 hour away from the last one but closer to where I was originally. Allegedly their is a car there. read more

After reading previous reviews I was nervous about renting here. I explained my concerns to Jesse, the Marathon rental agent, and he assured me he would do whatever it took to take care of us. And he did! He went above and beyond to obtain a vehicle so that we would have a car to get to Miami for an important medical appointment. There were no problems with the car and it was a quick in and out for both check out and return. No problems!! Maybe Jesse will turn the place around. read more

This review is for Domnique At the marathon location, upon arriving for my scheduled pick up I was greeted by a distasteful Dominque who from the very start was not having a good day. Dominque instructed me to "get in the car with him" to check mileage and gas which I've never had to do especially during these times. We are in the middle of a very serious pandemic and he did not wear a mask (as required by the airport) nor did he have on gloves or took part in the 6ft rule. When I told dominque I've never had to go through this his response was "I don't have to rent you the car" he then proceeds to tell me "I've heard about you" as if the employees sit around and gossip about the consumer all day. I have been renting from enterprise for over 15 years and this is enough to lose my business and my colleagues business for good. I understand times are hard and workers are very hard to come by but if this what others have to deal with you might as well close this location until you can find better help. Shannell Hogg which is supposed to be the area manager called me and made it even worse. She had a nonchalant attitude as if she didn't care, she kept hanging up the phone and clearly did not care about how the consumer was treated and took no part in trying to fix the situation at all. When I asked her if I could speak with another manager she told me"there's no one above me". I'm sorry but there has to be someone who can rectify this situation so that it doesn't happen again and they don't continue to lose business. read more

We had a one way rental from Miami to marathon. We picked up the car at 10 pm. The marathon location closed at 4. I was told to leave the keys in the drop box (which we did at 6 pm). The employee arrived the next morning got the keys from the drop box, checked in the car for 9th at morning and charged me an extra day. I have been trying for several months to get the charge removed. They do not answer the phones at the marathon location. Called customer service several times. It gets passed on the supervisor but they just drop the ball. A manager emailed me but never followed up. It's ridiculous. So disappointed in enterprise. Will never rent from them again. Idiots working at the marathon location!!! Don't use tgem. read more

If I could give Enterprise in Marathon, FL and their employees zero stars I would. The most rude & unhelpful Enterprise employees ever. I've been a loyal Enterprise customer for decades, regularly renting vehicles all over the country and the woman who worked at Marathon airport Enterprise had zero ability to make me feel valued (she was taking personal calls & checking texts on her apple watch throughout our interaction) or offer to help me. She allowed customers in line behind me to step to the counter and helped them when my rental was not yet completed. The communication was AWFUL, the facility dirty and dingy and the professionalism of agents and other employees was non - existent. Do NOT come to this location expecting any level of service even close to what you'd expect from Enterprise. read more

Never use Enterprise in Marathon Florida. They do not honor reservations. We had a full Sized truck reserved for 17 days. When we arrived they had nothing available. No car, no truck. And no clue when or if anything would be one available. I called and complained to the main office and was told the regional manager would contact me with n 24 hours. It is now more than 24 hours later and still not call. read more

We set up a rental for a convertable 2weeks ahead of time to be sure it was available. 30 minutes before picking it up we called them and they told us they didn't have one even though they had the reservation. They did nothing to help us get another one. read more

Worst place. Had a reservation for a month and when my husband went to get the car the girl that is there told him she had no car to give him and my husband responded back saying but I have a reservation what do you mean you don't have any car. And it is not the first time it happens. I called corporate and they said that they will have the manager call me in two days well guess what by the time they call us we don't need that car anymore. read more

I rent cars 4 times a month. The staff at this site is first class! reading some of the reviews, some people do not realize what the staff goes thru to find renters a car. They do not have the inventory other sites have, and many times I have watched people get so upset that there is not a car available. Whether you rent online or call a day before, sometimes there is not a car in the area. They try hard to accomodate who they can. I have heard people pitch fits and the staff has kept their cool. Someone talked about dirty cars, sometimes they don't have time to clean a car thoroughly because it was turned in late, and others were demanding a car. Beware a reservation with confirmation number means nothing to this company and location. Made an online reservation for the following day for a car rental. Only rental car agency that "showed" cars available. The other rental car agencies showed no availability. Arrived one hour and 15 mins before my scheduled pick up time of 4pm. The desk clerk Patty, looked up the reservation with a confirmation number and said you are early. Which I acknowledged. She said she currently doesn't have any cars. I asked so I need to wait till my appointment time to get a car. She then rudely said you made this reservation last night and said we don't have a car for you because the reservation was made online and outside of business hours because they cars come from Miami. I asked her where that is written or how does a customer know that. A customer goes online makes a reservation and gets a confirmation number. She said it isn't written anywhere. She said she has 7 reservation and only 2 cars. I asked how the website allowed me to make a reservation. She said because it was made on a GovX account they have to accept it. I said the regular online site showed the same thing. She was like I can't control the website. She said Key West has cars and you can pick one up there. That is not a feasible solution because it is 50 miles away to drive one way to turn around and drive 50 miles back. So you are looking at over 2 hours to get back to the current location. I asked why you wouldn't get a call in the morning saying no cars are available? Considering I worked in Key West all day and a courtesy call that morning when she knew there were no cars could have been avoided not having a car. I ask at 4pm will she have a car and she only if someone returns one early and no one is scheduled to return any. Due to her rudeness and attitude blaming the customer for making an appointment online on a government website, I walked outside and got on the regular Enterprise website which allowed to me make a reservation to pick up the same car at 3pm. I was standing in line and Patty looked at the other rental car agent from another company and said she doesn't even want to confirm the new reservation she just received. I provided Patty with my new confirmation number for 3pm which was now past the time. I said here is a reservation for now, which your website is still allowing. I asked are you denying to provide a rental car when you have 2 rental cars and I have a confirmation number. She said yes and you can call the Key West office if you wish or drive the 100 miles round trip to Key West to get a car. I got her name and the phone number to corporate. I called and spoke to nice lady who advised a representative would get back to me within 24 hours, but since it was Friday afternoon it might be Monday. Still waiting for that call back 2 weeks. read more

I had a confirmed 2 day rental then received a call 30 min. before pick up that Enterprise did not have any cars available. They promised they would be able to have a car for the following 2 days. I called 12 times on the 2nd day to confirm availability and no answer. I took a taxi to the airport location only to find once again, they did not have a car available!!! No courtesy call to advise me. They refused to compensate me for a 2 way taxi ride $22.00. Enterprise in Marathon FL is known too well for doing this according to the 2 taxi drivers, and also, check the 18 Google reviews. Terrible service, terrible handling by the local rep. with a zero level of concern for my spoiled vacation. In my opinion, the local manager or franchise owner either made a bad decision on hiring these employees or just doesn't care. Enterprise Marathon FL. is NOT dependable. Read the other reviews, and to the person that thinks they are great, wait, you will eventually get the same bad treatment! read more

We rented a vehicle recently while on vacation, and a week after returning it we realized we'd left a couple of items in the car. I immediately called the local Marathon, FL Enterprise office, and Patti informed me that she had my items! She was very friendly and helpful. I was so pleased to have my things back!
