Aweful customer service. Travis is a liar, the whole lot of the people there are aweful. I had an issue with the vehicle, was lied to, bullied, they still havent fixed the orignal issue, and I called regional manager and he not only didnt fixed the problem but allowed staff to retaliate and didn't seem to fix any of the issues brought up. We had an issues last year with a vehicle and regional manager did the same tging last year. The problem seems to be the regional manager allows this behavior, protects employees and continues to allow these bullies to operate with impunity. He needs to be fired so they can bring in new management to fired the lot of them. I have never been treated like this and to they amount of money we do to rent vehicles from local establishments. Despite reserving a car and requesting to be picked up, I didn't receive any notification they were coming so I arranged a ride to this location. Upon arrival they advised they'd given my reservation away because I wasn't there promptly at 9AM. All other rental places hold your vehicle for 24 hours. I travel regularly and rent a vehicle at least once a month for business. I will not be using them and recommend nobody else does either. read more

After discussing the issue with Enterprise's D.R.O, I can say that Enterprise handles their claims with seeming dignity, diligence and honor. The damages assumed charged to the driver are actually being charged to the right party not the victim of the accident. Remember to always get a police report and the assailant's insurance. Once you have these handled then hand these to Enterprise management and allow them to do what is needed. They will keep you in the loop of all activity as it progresses. read more

So frustrating! My car died so I reserved their smallest car online for (it's a Tuesday). Five minutes later someone calls and says they don't have any vehicles today. I have called in and re-called my work/volunteer places to tell them "I can't come, oh I got a car I can come" once already. I thought I was calling a different location but ended up calling this one again. I asked him if they had cars he said they did. I told him "cause I've already had one place call and cancel my reservation because they don't." He assured me they did and it would be ready at 1. I highly recommend this location. I rented a vehicle for a business trip and their staff was great and got me on my way. I have to give Kayla Hannam big props. I had to remove jewelry to enter a regulated facility on my trip. I made a mistake and left my stuff in the rental. They found it and I was able to pick it up, no issues and it wasn't taken. Reserved a Suburban size/type vehicle on 3/17/25 on to show up on pickup day of 5/24/25 for this location not to have one for me. I was offered an upgrade from their exotics collection and while it physically held two car seats and three adults total, once luggage was added for a week long stay and 7 plus hour road trip, we were smashed in like sardines. Prior to departure I advised them to call me if any suburban type vehicles came available or even a minivan and we would return the next morning to exchange before we left. I even call the customer service department, was given a reference number, instructed to go to MCI and attempt to exchange for the suburban up there. I was turn away at the airport location even though they had vehicles of the suburban type clearly visible for me to see but those were reserved for other customers. Tried the same thing in STL and was offered no options. Turn the car in this morning, different manager working, Tent, did his best to make up for our week in the smaller car. Appreciate his service but hard to believe nothing could be done at the KC airport or STL airport. And with several calls to the customer service department, no communication from Enterprise the entire week. Very skeptical about renting from Enterprise/National in the future as a result. read more

Martin, branch rental manager was fantastic! I came in from out of town, my previous rental was cancelled 15 mins prior to my reserved pick up time and I was in a pickle!!! Martin was patient and willing to help. Even though they did not have a vehicle that would fit my needs, he called another location, completed the transaction and gave me the information to pick up the vehicle.... without me even needing to ask him to! The WORST experience I have ever had dealing with Enterprise.. I have been renting from them personally and 2 times because of accidents, not my fault! I was charged for a vehicle difference that should not have happened. It was the ONLY vehicle available to take, I had already been forgotten about when I set up a pick from my home. I had to pay for Uber to take me to this location. They don't greet people as they come in the doors and I had to wait over an hour to even get set up with a vehicle. Then I was late getting to work from picking up this car because they had to wash it (mind you it was 20 degrees outside, doors frozen shut after work). I have never been able to get a hold of anyone at this location except for Frederick an assistant manager who has NEVER called me, only email. He says he has left messages, but nothing in my voicemails. Out of the 20+ years of using them, this has been the absolute worst ever!! This vehicle was not cleaned out on the inside and smelled of cigarette smoke and I don't smoke, this was GROSS. Air fresheners did not help at all, disgusting read more

I had a great experience at this Enterprise location. They were already waiting to pick me up when I arrived at my car repair appointment, and they were so nice! The staff member picking me up even insisted I go back in and get a cup of coffee and that she didn't mind waiting. When I didn't have the correct paperwork 100% ready, the staff member called whoever necessary to make sure everything was set up! They had a car waiting for me and walked me through everything. They didn't push when I declined the add-ons. They drove me to and from my car repair appointments and it was very pleasant! What an easy experience. I would definitely use them again. read more

Worse customer service. I have a reservation from AAA accident. Stated at 9am. Received an email July 6. And a call from them on Friday to my daughters number which she thought it was spam. I called Tuesday morning to olathe to get one, they stated it would be Friday before I could get a car. I called what was on my reservation email to call shawnee mission parkway. I gave the manager of 10000 shawnee mission my reservation number. I told him I would need to be picked up and do they have the option for someone to get me, he said yes, I gave him my address. He said it was to far. I told him I could use an Uber to get me there, he asked what body shop and I told him Reed Collision, he said thst 7800 metcalf would have to cover my reservation. I called 7800 metcalf and they only have her full size. I called back to shawnee mission parkway on hold for 20 mins. I told him metcalf didn't have a compact car. He stated I have to rent from metcalf store. I called other enterprise in olathe. Still was Friday. I called back to shawnee mission parkway and was on hold for 20 min, finally got through, asked for manager and was put on hold for more than 10 min had to hang up since I got a call, so I called back and on hold 10 mins and asked for manager, he put me on hold for 10 min or more, had to take a call from my boss. I called back and asked for manager after hold for 10 or more minutes and he stated the manager is right here I will get him, waited on hold for 10 min or more, called back and asked for manager and then he was in a meeting, so a called back and got a lady and she said couldn't get a care now until next week after multiple guys stated that it was next day (Wednesday) at 10am. I call enterprise corp. And went over the issues. Enterprise were to have some one call me that night or in the morning and he went to transfer me and he had his dog started barking, after transferring me I had to explain the situation again. Called back Wednesday morning to the olathe store and was told there was a can't rent on the account now, I called Corporate and they can't see a can't rent on the account, they gave me two other enterprises to rent to and called the one in Lenexa on and they didn't have any until Friday. I called the Stanley enterprise on Thursday 11:26am and we was able to get me set up to pick up Friday at 2pm. My daughter texted me at 10pm that enterprise called and she answered and they stated can't rent to me. Which I have to wait until 7:30am for them to tell me that can't rent to me also. We will find out. Noting on Tuesday was 2 1/2 hrs and Tuesday night with corp was another 1 hr, Wednesday as also another 30 mins and then corp for 30 mins, Thursday getting all set up was another 10 mins conversation from Stanley location from Sai. Total so far Tuesday to thursday 3 1/2 to 4 hrs to get a rental car and still don't have one. Noting that the car that was in the shop was my daughters. She can't drive my police car. She has to miss work and appointments since no car to rent. What does a reservation really mean at Enterprise? Does it mean they will have a car of your choice to be ready on a date and time on the reservation and confirmation. AAA scheduled the rental and cover the cost since their client hit my car. The manager at the store is keeping people from renting cars for enterprise to make money. He doesn't value his job or position. Absolute trash from top to bottom. We have used their services both professionally and personally; it doesn't change anything. Cars not available on pickup - being told that a compact car is the same as a standard size car when mine was not available (no offer to reduce the rental cost.) Straight up canceling rental services without being informed. Billing the driver instead of insurance and then not refunding the driver the full amount. Absolute headache. I scheduled Enterprise 1 month in advance. I called and confirmed at 2 weeks and again 2 days before I was to be picked up. The day of, Enterprise called at 12:08 and asked if 12:45 would be okay instead of 12:30. I said it was and they promised it would not be later than 12:45. It's now 1:25. I've called four times and each time I've been told the person had left and will be here in 15 minutes. I never say never, but I can say I will never use Enterprise again if there is another option. read more

Do NOT use enterprise ! I have to admit this was one of the most NEGATIVE experiences I have ever had at any rental place. If I had known I would've went with anywhere else! So I had recently had someone hit my car unfortunately, and was needing a rental. I went with enterprise so I wouldn't be car less because I THOUGHT they were suppose to be one of the best. They were already about a week booked up at every location. When I was finally able to get in a car , I had to wait about 30 minutes to an hour just for my turn when I arrived. So here I finally get into my first car and was already highly disappointed. A Dodge Charger that smelled horribly of cigarettes and the door handle inside would break off every single time you'd open it ! I couldn't take it anymore and asked to switch vehicles. Next car I had gotten a Kia K5. I thought it would all be good from here ! But no, wherever I parked the car I started noticing fluid dripping out the car. Ruined multiple people driveways before I realized it wasn't the air conditioning and something that would be a pain in the ass to get up! On top of that, one of the tires had a slow leak and I had to fill it up every day just to get anywhere. Due to the fluid I had to end up parking it in the street. I was very disappointed and frustrated that not only was this experience putting me deeper in the hole, but it was wasting my time. So here we are a third time back to switch out the vehicle. Now this is the part that really pissed me off. I had taken the Kia back, sadly on to my THIRD vehicle hoping this will be the last. The guy walks outside and sees a small dent on the rear bumper and said I did it when I KNOW I did not hit anything. Then demands I need to pay him 500 dollars that day , but up to 1000 by the time I return the third vehicle. Every car we walked around he stated, "Don't worry about dents and scratches , we are looking for major damage." My mistake listening to him. So , story summed up, enterprise wants me to give them 1000 dollars for ruining my property , as well as others and wasting my time. DO NOT RENT A VEHICLE FROM MERRIAM ENTERPRISE! Absolutely terrible customer service. I called Merriam Enterprise for three days straight, the phone ringing for 15-20 minutes each call, with no answer. I finally got into my car today during a downpour and drove 20 minutes to speak to someone in person and asked why they don't answer their phone. Apparently the two men working the front desk were overwhelmed by the two customers in the lobby and couldn't be bothered to answer the phone, the manager Martin Hoisington informed me. To add to the issue, I simply wanted to put a credit card on file instead of a debit card since they claim they have not gotten word from our insurance company to extend our rental. They're withdrawing money from my daughter's checking account daily and refuse to take my credit card because the card has my name on it, not hers. So, they're just going to wipe out my daughter's checking account unnecessarily. It would have been helpful if someone had simply answered the phone to explain this policy to me. Bottom line: if you want the most basic customer service (such as being able to contact the person charging you hundreds of dollars erroneously on a daily basis), RENT A VEHICLE FROM SOMEONE ELSE -- NOT MERRIAM ENTERPRISE. read more

He offered me a service which was suppose to be optional but told Me I would have to purchase before I got the car. Afterwards he changed his mind and said the service was optional. I was supposed to get my rental Monday and didn't end up getting it until Wednesday afternoon because they didn't have my appointment set up even though they had called me the week prior to set up my appointment time. Finally got an apt set up to have them come pick me up at 3pm that Wednesday. 3:30 rolls around and still no one. Then it took me another 30 minutes to even get ahold of someone there. The guy answers and says "oh yea we can definitely get someone to come get you" as if they weren't supposed to have been there at 3.. imagine if I wouldn't have called?? Would I have just not gotten my rental for another couple of days?? The car that they gave me didn't have any gas in it either so that is how I returned it. I have to say I'm pretty disappointed with my experience at this Enterprise location. When I arrived to pick up my car there was only one person working the counter and a fairly decent line. The rest of the staff was standing in the back talking and laughing about something in plain view of everyone waiting. When my turn eventually came the young lady did all the swiping and sales pitch things quickly then took me out to cars. She explained that they did not have the car size I requested so they had options for me. The first car she took me to had clearly been smoked in. In fact I'm pretty sure someone from the location was taking their smoke breaks in the car considering there was a bottle full of brown liquid and cigarette butts sitting in the cupholder. The second car they offered me looked like a crime scene inside. There were stains all over the interior. It almost looked like someone had been shoved through a wood chipper and the end result covered the inside of the car. I wasn't thrilled with those options so I offered to downgrade just to get something that wasn't trashed. I was told that was all they had even though I could clearly see at least 10 other vehicles on the lot. So I drove off in my traveling crime scene car. When I returned the car the girl who checked it in and did the post rental inspection asked how we managed to get the stains everywhere in the car....... REALLY!? I explained what I drove away with and she just started me with a blank look and replied with something like "Thanks for choosing Enterprise" read more

DO NOT RENT HERE! Worst rental car experience of my life. From start to finish, terrible. Building location smelt terrible, dirty, and awful wait, over an hours after scheduled pick up of time. After waiting for over an hour an employee informed us they did not have the SUV we had set up to rent. A month prior to pickup we made a reservation for a full size SUV for an upcoming family trip. After we were informed they did not have the vehicle that we reserved, the employee tried to talk us into a smaller SUV or truck. This was after stating the reason for a full size rental to begin with. We declined the offer of any other vehicle because simply that's not what we reserved and did not meet our needs. The employee stated that he would stay later and "work diligently" to find us an SUV and regardless of the outcome he would call and let us know. That was a load of BS. Never received a phone call, nothing. Enterprise should be ashamed of this location and the unsatisfactory customer service. After looking through other reviews this is a very common theme. Incredible! I need a car for some travelling this week, and my own car needs repairs. So I make a reservation on line for a rental from 7800 Metcalf, Overland Park, KS, to pick up at noon; and the reservation is CONFIRMED both on the website and by email. Then suddenly, an hour later, I get a phone call and it's some mumbly kid, and he tells me they DON'T have a car for me, or any cars. But he can fit me out with a "family van" - at a higher rate. When I object, he allows as how I "can call around to our other locations" to see *if* they have anything like what was CONFIRMED to me, but the website confirmed booking didn't "mean we have the car you wanted" (though it sure looked like it). So I suggested maybe he should do the calling around (it's called customer service, you see) and he grumbled "I ain't doin' no callin' around", and that was that. Which it was: I cancelled the booking and hung up. Is this really any way to run a business? I don't think so; not even any way to run a hobby! One thing, we'll sure never book Enterprise again. Great location and helpful staff. I'm a big fan of Enterprise to begin with just for my personal rentals but I also work with Enterprise through the extended warranty on my car as well. This most recent visit, my first at the Shawnee Mission pkwy location, was car related. Hailie understood immediately that my rental would most likely be covered and promised to work with CarMax Service to get it all handled. I was a little nervous because usually CarMax makes the arrangements, but my car choose the weekend to snap a rear engine mount and the Service Department was closed. Hailie and the rest of the staff picked up the ball on Monday and ran with it and I didn't have to do a thing. Awesome customer service. read more

From pick up to drop off, and everything in between in dealing with Insurance, Enterprise had excellent customer service the entire time that I was in the car. I think that I ended up talking to everyone that works at the Merriam location, and they were all very kind, helpful, and empathetic each time that I had to extend the rental. I've had several dealings with this location over the years, going back to buying a used car from them back in 1999 and including renting several cars from them, and the vast majority of my dealings with them have been positive. The staff has always been friendly and helpful to me. I will say, most of the time I've been a customer there I have had to wait, either in line for customer service or for my car to be readied for me; however, I have never felt that this wait is excessive, and when I've had to wait it's always been because they have been busy rather than reflective of poor customer service. This past visit, I was picking up a rental car for a trip to northern Illinois. There were three adults and two kids in car seats, so we needed a larger vehicle; I made an online reservation for an intermediate-sized SUV, to be picked up after noon on Thursday. Thursday at 2:00 I received a call from the location, just making sure I still needed a vehicle (it was a busy day at work, so, well, that's my excuse). I let them know that I was running late and would just pick it up on my way home, so around 4:00 or so. They were very pleasant on the phone, and when I made it to the location around 4:20 (yeah, late again), they were equally pleasant and helpful in person. By that time they didn't have any more intermediate SUVs, so they gave me a standard-sized SUV for the same price. They cleaned it, too--as we were about to get on the highway I told them that they didn't need to worry about the outside, but they vacuumed it out. The car, a Hyundai Santa Fe Sport, was very nice--well-maintained, clean (obviously), mechanically sound, drove beautifully, and, most importantly, was very comfortable for all five of us. (I'm so glad they were out of the intermediate. I am now looking seriously into getting one.) We came back Tuesday late afternoon, and I took the car back right after unpacking. The agent I worked with bringing it back was equally pleasant. My mom, who was one of the three adults on the trip, was in the market for a new (well, newer) car, and so when we dropped the car off we went right over to their used car department. The salesperson, Calvin, was very helpful in figuring out what was available in her desired price range without being pushy and annoying. He left her his card and suggested she call him this week when she was all settled back in. Two days ago she bought a Chevy Cruze from him. So, yeah, we appreciate this location and will continue to visit them. read more

Enterprise car rental dropped the ball with customer satisfaction on this one. After contacting ENTERPRISE to change the pick up day I was assured that it would not be a problem. Not the case, calling to verify my pick up time I was told that I was outside the 5 mile limit. It gets better...then I was informed that my reservation was for monday therefore cancelled for a no show. No truck was available. Called corporate. Verified changes by corporate. Made new reservation. Called to verify and this person tells me that he's doing me a favor by looking for a truck for me since I just reserved it. I could name names and I will if this isn't addressed. No apology, no follow up ,nothing but , very poor business ethics. Corporate messed up as well.
