I have been four times and never been impressed with their lack of organization, but since they…read morewere bought out by this discount dealership parent company it has really gone down hill. They are still expecting $3,000 to $5,000+ for basic service visits, but they will only pay for one credit card terminal for 8 to 6 service advisors to use leaving them all huddled around waiting. On top of which it apparently runs everything as debit so if you have an actual credit card they are saying the charge won't go through without a PIN which on a normal credit card is a cash advance which charges MUCH more intrest. So the same card you used 6 months ago is now not acceptable as payment to them. Then the 12 year old service advisor will live down to the Gen Z stereo type and ask YOU want to do to solve their broken systems problem.

Attempted to buy a vehicle from Baron BMW, was passed from Jenna to Ryan Bell. Received information…read moreon the vehicle and agreed to purchase with proof of funds ready on Wednesday. Ryan told us that he would be out of office Thursday, and that the vehicle would be going into the shop on Friday for reconditioning prior to sale. No word from any salesperson Thursday, no word on Friday. Multiple calls to Ryan on Friday and Saturday went unanswered. Calling the dealership on Saturday asking to speak to a salesperson somehow transferred me to Ryan, who then informed me that he had sold the vehicle Friday morning, now citing a previously undisclosed policy that sales cannot roll over month to month, even though we had agreed to purchase prior to the end of month. Save your time and money, work with an ethical and up front dealership.

I submitted a form for interest on a Mazda Miata and tried to call/text the numerous numbers they…read morehad on their site. I finally got a reply from one of them more than a day later. I was messaging the salesman, Gabriel, about the car details, when to arrange a time to come up to see it, even the possibility of trading in my car. I was able to exchange messages with him on 08/14 and he asked for the info about my current car so that he could look about a possible trade-in. I gave him the information with no response. On Friday 08/15, I was trying to confirm a time to be able to come up to take a look at (and buy) the car. I wasn't getting any response throughout the day, so finally I called a few of the numbers listed on their site. I was able to speak to a man who said that Gabriel was off of work that day, but he would let him know I called, and said I could come by on Saturday 08/16. On Saturday morning, I got a text from Gabriel at 10am and asked if I could come up there at about 4:00pm. He said that would work great and gave me the address to come to. I left Springfield (200 miles away) to be able to arrive up there even before 04:00pm. I was halfway there, and at 02:01pm, he texted me and said that he was just informed that one of the other sales people sold the vehicle half an hour ago. So I called to confirm this with him that it was actually finalized and sold and he said when he went to get the keys for it to bring it around to be ready for me to check out, he was told another salesman sold it. I told him I had already driven half way up there. He said "Oh yeah, sorry. Safe travels home." I completely understand making sales and getting money ASAP, and I understand if other people were buying the car -- what I am upset about is that I drove more than halfway to Kansas City before being texted that the car had sold with basically zero regard for the fact I had been trying to communicate about this car for several days and set up a specific time to come up. I know there's always a "risk" someone will buy it before I am able to. The lack of communication throughout my entire experience with them was so poor and they almost acted as if I was an inconvenience to be calling and asking questions. I had to call/text 5 different numbers before I could even get a response from anyone. Then the communication with Gabriel was very limited. Had to call a different person on Friday just to make sure it was still good for me to come up on Saturday. Re-confirmed with Gabriel on Saturday that I should come up there and he said yes, that was a "perfect time" for him -- only to be texted that it sold after I had driven over 100 miles to go see it. Extremely disappointed in the customer service, lack of communication, and very little regard for my time, when I arranged an appointment and had to travel in order to go up there, only to be met with a casual text of "it sold". If they aren't communicating well with you, just don't even bother with this place. They clearly didn't care about a potential customer who was going to be paying them thousands of dollars for a car. Do better by people, because this was ridiculous.

SO much more friendly and welcoming that I chose to give up the $100 certificate I'd have gotten if I had all 3 initial mileage checkups done where I started, all of which are included in the lease. But I had dreaded going back, What went well at Hendrick Toyota's service department? Pretty much everything. The service manager who took care of me at Hendrick, and goes by "D", was great. He was very customer-service oriented...welcoming, friendly, knowledgeable, attentive to detail, gave me a tour around the dealership area where I would be waiting, pointed out all available amenities, and offered me a cold bottled water without having to be asked. That may sound like a small gesture, but based on my experience where I leased, it isn't. I actually felt like a valued customer. And I felt confident D would take good care of my car, and do all the required checks and services for the 5K appointment . After it, he also patiently went over many of the buttons and controls that were still unfamiliar to me after the hurried and cursory explanation i received the day I picked up my new car. And despite having spent many hours at the previous dealership during the process from test drives to closing the deal, and having made an actual appointment for pickup with my salesperson, none of the idle sales people in the lobby, or the front desk attendant, greeted me, knew me at all, or had a clue why I was there. And I never saw my sales person again. I hope my experience at Hendrick wasn't just a "one-off," and that my future appointments there can be scheduled with D, whose words and actions gave me faith that his goal is first and foremost, great customer service. My best advice, if you want to have a customer-first and reasonably pleasant car purchase (or lease) experience, don't go to Olathe Toyota.
