This review is for the staff at this specific Enterprise. I've also used the Enterprise in Midtown West and JFK. Across the board it seems that Enterprise has a customer service push which I commend. Most car rental companies do treat you like an after thought and its shockingly slow process at a any counter in any city to get from handing over your drivers license to getting the keys. Not at this place. Lish the manager trainee keep this place on a tight leash too. They car was waiting and ready for me but I asked them for a last minute change with they seemed to do between the time I asked and the two minutes it took to walk from the office to their loading bay. This was a pre-holiday rush and they were all busy, cold and you could tell a bit tired from a tough day but the whole team was friendly, speedy and focused on the highest delivery of authentic customer service. Good cars, great team, excellent energy, convenient city location. Kudos to the Enterprise Crew @ 24th Street and thank you again to Lish who saved me on such a stressful moving day. Please stay clear of Enterprise, Alamo & Nation car rental. The desk clerk at Logan Airport in Boston completely took advantage of my wife and very sick daughter. After letting the clerk know how important it was to get our daughter back to Long Island he charged us 4 times the daily rate to book a car for 12 hours. I generally liked my experience except for one thing. I was charged for tolls when I did not go over any toll roads. I called up and was told to write to a division that deals with tolls. They responded saying the charge was legit. I wrote back asking for details and they never responded. Everything but this was fine. Absolutely had the worst experience here. Had an issue with a car that had mechanical problems. The staff are not bad (at the w24th st location -- Hector and Reign were amazing and helpful) or not helpful at all - unless you're referring about the branch manager (forgot her name) who was the rudest of everyone. Straight up no customer service ability at all. Which speaks horribly on Enterprise corporate as far as the lack of leadership training. No customer should EVER have to go through what we just went through. read more

Be careful with enterprise the location on Broadway (in Kingsbridge) all of a sudden they're hidden fees that appear (more toll charges). I rented the car from Friday to Monday and went over the Mario combo Bridge. You're only charged once (southbound); I should've been charged $23.90 all of a sudden there's now another pending toll charge of 18.95 also, when I returned the car, I stood there waiting and I was ignored for an hour. They have young kids working there; Unfortunately there is not another rental company in the Riverdale section, but I would advise not coming here. read more

Manager Marlon at LGA enterprise location was fantastic ... I had a rental car from enterprise is NC have a battery fail and he was extremely helpful in finding me a replacement vehicle ( even nicer than original ) and getting me going easily and stress free. I was extremely happy and relieved after such a harrowing morning. I will be sure to use them again because of this young man going out of his way to help me out of a tough places !!!!! read more

MY RESERVATION WAS NOT HONORED AND NO PROPER ALTERNATIVES WERE OFFERED I made a reservation for a rental car at Enterprise Rent-A-Car. 10 minutes before the expected pick-up, I received a voice message telling me that they had no vehicle to accommodate my request at their office. Absolutely awful. Used the Chippewa (Beaver Falls) PA office. Booked two weeks ahead for business trip to charlotte. Asked for a Nissan as I know the vehicles well. Going on trip by myself over 500 miles each way. Picked the car up Tuesday at 5pm. No Nissan. Gave me a VW. Bumper hit and falling apart, stains all over seats, and smelled horrible. Got up at 6am Wednesday to leave for my trip and puddle of oil underneath car. Could not take it as it was leaking, had to use my own. Returned car on Friday morning when retuned from trip as I had no way to get it back as I was in Charlotte. So it sat leaking in my driveway from Tuesday night to Friday morning. Had less than 25 miles on it total from driving it to my house and back to office only. When I told Ben t the office he instantlt began to make excuses. First said we do not guarantee what type of cr. Ok valid. Then proceeded to say you should hav called us. They are not open at 6am when I left for my trip. I was in strategy sessions for 2 straight days in Charlotte. I said that you can tell by the miles the car was not used. He then said all of our cars are maintenanced. I said then why was it leaking oil. Again, driving at night on way back and over 500 miles by myself and needed a dependable car. The guy who went to look at the car came back in and seaid well the oil light is not on. As if I was lying. I took picutes of the oil all over my garage floor and on the cardboard we put under it. Also of the stained seats. I told Ben at office I would call corporate and talk to them since he just wanted to defend. He said I will have our manager Stu call you. To date no call. I will never rent here again and will tell all my business colleagues. read more

I reserved a minivan 12 days before my trip, but just four days prior to departure, I received a call informing me that the vehicle was no longer available. I searched for alternatives, but the prices had nearly doubled. I then contacted the corporate customer service line, and they found a minivan available at a location an hour and 30 minutes away. I called that branch to confirm, but they said they did not have the vehicle. I explored other options with no success. Then, just a day before my trip, I received a check-in link from the original branch, which made me assume they had a vehicle available. I completed the check-in and called in the morning to confirm, only to be told once again that the minivan was not available. At that point, a representative offered to switch my reservation to a 7-passenger SUV, and I agreed. However, while on my way to pick it up, I called to confirm and was told the SUV needed an oil change and they didn't know how long it would take. I had reserved the vehicle for 9:00 AM to stay on schedule with my trip, and this entire experience completely disrupted my plans. The handling of my reservation was extremely unprofessional, disorganized, and lacked basic customer service. I am very upset with how this situation was managed. read more

They will sucker you into getting extra insurance in case something happens when you are driving their rental car. You do not need it! Your own car insurance extends to a rental car should anything happen to the rental while you are driving it. Of course, please check with your own insurance company first to make sure this is the case. Wow... what a racket!!! read more

I will truly never use enterprise ever again. There are so many extra charges and fees that I had to pay $300 more than I originally was contract for. There is 0 communication from branches and they will find any reason to charge insane amounts of extra fees. Please do not fall for this company. We rented a pick up truck from Washington DC with a drop off at the Enterprise Chelsea location scheduled for July 9th. Everything was confirmed, we picked up the truck at Dulles, packed up our daughter who was living in DC, and headed to NYC where she was moving to. My wife received a voicemail saying we would not be allowed to drop off the pick up truck late on July 8th (no room in the garage apparently), but didn't get it until she checked voicemail early on July 9th while we were driving with a packed truck. We called the Chelsea Enterprise location mid morning on July 9th and a fast talking young man said that the Enterprise Website reservation system is "messed up" and it should not have allowed this one way rental to be confirmed. I asked to talk with a manager and she could not have been more rude. She wouldn't allow us to explain our situation, didn't offer any solution, kept saying she was too busy to talk because she had other customers in line, etc. She repeatedly interrupted us. She also accused of switching to a larger Truck from the original reservation which was insane. She's a liar. Her unprofessionalism was maddening, particularly because this issue that was 100% an Enterprise company issue. I wish I asked for her name because she's in the wrong line of work. She needs to be kept as far away from the customer as possible in whatever she does (maybe let her manage the car washing?). We also called customer service several times on our way to NYC and they at least listened to our story, promised to provide a fix, and never called us back (we spoke to three different folks). We ended up returning the car to EWR the next day at considerable expense and time to us. The Enterprise manager at EWR was great and gave us a modest discount for our trouble. He said the Chelsea location didn't follow protocol. They should have taken it back and arranged to have it transferred. Getting to EWR from NYC is a traffic nightmare and we wasted a half day doing this, not to mention a ~$100.00 Uber ride back.. The Chelsea location should have accepted the truck (it was a typical pick up truck and no bigger than a large SUV). If they didn't have room, they should have made arrangements to accept and drive it to a location that could take it. They made THEIR issue ours to deal with instead of taking accountability. read more

I rented a car in midtown manhattan. I went to pick it up at 10 am and asked if I could leave it in the garage where the office is located, and pick it up after hours. "Sure. No problem" I was told. Well guess what??? They parked the car agsinst a wall, blocked it In with two other cars so No, I guess it I can't pick it up after hours. Now I have to get a train to my friends apt in Yonkers and get Ubers for all the people coming in for the wedding. Thanks again to the terrific staff at the Hippodrome rental location on 44th st in NYC. You sure came through for this loyal customer.NEVER AGAIN WILL I USE ENTERPRISE. Had an exchange with an Enterprise phone rep today who was rude and offensive. I wanted to understand their policies. I'm trying to reserve a car and they're telling me that, six weeks in advance, they're sold out. They have lots of locations near me and I don't understand why cars aren't moved from one place to another based on reservations taken. That, and why I have to pay three times the normal rate during this time of year. I go to a supermarket during peak hours, I pay the same amount of money for milk that I pay during quieter times. Needed a weekend insurance rental car - my catalytic converter was stolen and it was going to take a long time to get the part. Arranged on Friday to rent on Saturday from the Harlem Enterprise, closest to me, but that location contacted me that they wouldn't have any cars available. After frustratingly reaching out to many other Manhattan branches, Morgan at this Chelsea Enterprise said if I came in the morning and spoke to Charlene they'd have something for me - and within the insurance allowance - then transferred the Harlem reservation Chelsea on my behalf. The next day I did and they did! In fact, Charlene upgraded me to a small SUV that was perfect for one of the tasks I planned. Both agents were understanding and super friendly! Rented a mid size SUV from Ft Myers on May 20. It was being cleaned and not quite ready so Augusta, the Attendant, offered us an upgrade to a full size vehicle. Augusta was friendly, professional and a delight to talk to, so nice. The lines at the other rental car companies were extremely long but at Enterprise there was only a couple of people ahead of us. We were in and out of there in minutes while others in our party that rented from different companies took up to 40 minutes. Had a flat tire and drive the beach to get a swap out. They were still open, had at least 12 cars in the garage and refused to even try to help me. Never even tried, walked out said they had no cars and closed the door right in my face. Here management "runs out of cars" is "very sorry about it" and will "cancel your reservation" with a call the night before an AM pickup.
