    This was the most insane experience I have ever had. My friend and I needed a last minute car…read morereservation, so since I book with Avis often, I made a quick last minute reservation. When we walked into the store we were immediately dismissed, when neither her or the other worker acknowledged our presence. She then proceeded to tell us that she didn't have the car we reserved. I said whatever they had available would be fine. She took my id and credit card and then she told me she needed my company id for my discount. I have never once had to show my company id and I asked if there could be a one time exception since I didn't have it with me. She said no and then proceeded to do the reservation without the discount code. I asked her how much it would be without the discount and she rudely told me that since it's a one day reservation and she's having to do it over she didn't know yet. I then told her this was the worst customer service experience I've ever had. She still would not look at me and then my friend told her that they were being rude to us and they still didn't give us any sort of reaction. After making a new reservation, she told us it would be $130 MORE than the original quote. I then got angry and started to storm out and said they could F off.. she then proceeded TO THROW MY CREDIT CARD AND LICENSE AT ME when I went to get it back. In my life, I have never experienced someone as horrible as this woman. She is in the wrong line of business if this is how she treats people (apparently others too, considering the reviews). If she is the owner then Avis should be absolutely ashamed of themselves that they're allowing such a terrible person run this place under their name.

    ***review for Kane st west hartford location (not on yelp)*** the person working the desk needs to…read morebe trained with some kind of script or something to learn how to properly communicate with customers. i walked into the office and it smelled strongly of weed. i had booked a rental online using priceline. i came to pick up my car saying i had a reservation. the guy just kept saying credit card and license. i kept asking if he had my reservation pulled up. repeated credit card ma'am. like i'm literally just looking for some kind of acknowledgment that the reservation went through, trip details, type of car is available, etc and instead just being asking over and over for my card. I also had my boyfriend with me who i was going to have as an additional driver and had his military id with him for discount. When i asked if we could apply the discount, the man said "it's under your name" and i was like oh? ok can we book under his name then? nothing. he literally said "put that away" and refused to give discount. by this point i was sensing his attitude and just wanted to get the keys. he then said "how are we insuring today?" i tell him i paid with the reservation for full insurance protection. he gets frustrated "maam. insurance" again i go back and forth genuinely confused because ive rented truly over a hundred cars for work in my life and this is absolutely never how it's ever gone. i pull up the reservation on my phone and show the full covered insurance which states i DO NOT NEED to provide any personal insurance for the vehicle. again, i know this because i often rent for work and would never put my personal insurance info down on a car for work related travel. he barks again "just make this simple. tell me ur insurance" i apologize and say i need to call avis because clearly we aren't on the same page here and i don't like the way im being spoken to. His jaw dropped. he then TURNS TO MY BOYFRIEND to try to get him on his side "is she serious? was i rude? cmon man" when yes. very clearly he was rude both to my boyfriend at the beginning and to me throughout. i talk to the avis guy on the phone he says i don't need to provide insurance the reservation says fully covered, and he was about to apply military discount on the phone before the desk worker finalized the contract and locked the guy on the phone out of being able to change it. i signed. i don't care about the money truthfully i tell the guy on the phone to please just train the worker better. THEN i get in the car and it smells RANK. like someone had been hotboxing for hours in there. i've had the car five days now driving with two air fresheners fully opened and windows down in the dead of winter and it STILL smells. when i went to pick up my nieces as it was intended to be a family vacation, they both everyday pretend vomit the whole ride because of how strong the odor is. absolutely not worth "saving" $75 on a rental. go with enterprise, get good customer service, get your military discount as you should, and have a clean car... as i go to leave the desk guy keeps reiterating he never meant to be rude but it felt like he truly had no idea that saying one instruction over and over is very rude. i walked him through how he should have said "unfortunately we cannot apply that discount for you, sorry" and i would've been chill instead of "put that away" if he had said "yes i see here on your reservation you are fully covered for the vehicle, that will cover the car fully we just want to know your personal insurance to know you are an insured driver" i would've been chill. it's the repeating the same nonsense and being frustrated with ME when you aren't communicating properly that sent me. and the weed smell is absolutely enough to have me never rent from here again even if the guy was nice.

I reserved the vehicle…read moreonline the night before and was able to pick up my car the next day with very little wait time. Drop off was really quick and convenient as well. Tina processed my reservation and was very friendly and efficient. I will definitely go back to this location.
