The rep working on Sunday. While clearly over worked for working in a busy location alone. When confronted with the extra change he immediately turned hostile and confrontational when questioned. Of course a customer is going to be upset for a charge they were not expecting . Had he taken 30 seconds to explain the charge before charging it, things would not have escalated. Instead he said if you are going to be confrontational he would cancel the rental. . I did not become confrontational until he turned hostile over the questioning of the fee. He clearly did not want to do the work to resolve the additional charge. Which was avoidable. Time would have been saved had he disclosed the fee from the start. But because he didn't, it created more work for himself and he clearly didn't want to do more work. When he canceled the reservation (after charging my credit card) and he refused to provide proof. He did not even process it so that it would generate an automatic email. Sadly this one of the only non-airport locations open on Sunday in the area. Just before him "helping" me he had a dispute with another customer over charges and they also left without renting. I've been to other enterprises and never had an issue. I went to pick up the car that I was renting Sunday at noon time. I showed up an hour early and they said they did not have my car that would be there in an hour. But, he then stated that he could not guarantee me that I was gonna get my car. I had rented a luxury car, which is a BMW or an Audi or nicer. I paid an extra $89 for a three day rental. So, when they didn't have the car, I did not get upset and I said fine. Give me a lower car. They did. But he then said it was only a dollar less and when I said that's not right he said what would you want me to do? I don't control the pricing. I rent from national car rental, which is the company that owns enterprise almost every week because I travel for business. So, needless to say I will never rent from this location again. a female employee helped me check out a car here. I quickly looked around the car and saw some visible damages, asked if these damages are already noted down. she said they know and the details should be in the contract I got through email. (I still don't know what she is talking about) she never actually looked around the car with me even after I reported the damages on the car, gave me the key and left. I took a close-up and wide pictures of the damages before I jumped in to the car, returned it the night. next morning, I got a voicemail from her saying there are some damages on the car. I called and asked for more detail, she simply said 'damages on the bumper'. I came to the store in person, all of a sudden she is too busy cutting up paper letters on the floor and another employee starts helping me. We looked around, i saw no new damage. The employee points at a dent the front bumper and says they will have to contact my insurance to proceed. I showed him the pictures I took, clearly showing the damage was a pre-existing one. He said he sees the damage was a pre-existing one and I'm all set. I told him what had happened when she was helping me checking out the car and left. she said they already know about the damages, turns out she didn't. never cared to actually look around the car (what A SHAME), tried to charge me for the damage. no sorry no compensation. Overall, I was lied to, and possibly attempted to a fraud. Enterprise ruins Holiday break for High School Basketball Teams, leaving them without transportation, and the manager could have cared less!! Made a reservation two weeks in advance for 2 (17 passenger vans) for High School basketball teams to travel to a Holiday tournament in Maine. They called day before and confirmed reservation and then called me 1 hour before pick up to tell me they had no vans for me and no solution. The manager was rude and took no responsibility and offered no options or solutions. She refused to contact the area or regional manager to have them call me. We visited Boston (moved from there 3 years ago) and had trouble renting a car. (Terrible experience with Avis in Dedham hotel) We were there for 3 weeks this past summer and was without a car until we were turned onto this particular Enterprise. Between calling and physically visiting dozens of rental companies we feel blessed to have been steered (pun intended) here. The mechanic we used for 30 yrs in Boston recommended this particular Enterprise (we had tried others Enterprises and several other chains). These guys were fabulous and very professional. They even accommodate us and our long legs (my wife and I are both over 6') Everyone was extremely nice from the initial phone call to the moment we dropped off the vehicle. Alex, who I believe is the manager, was very sympathetic to our situation and previous struggles to secure a rental. When we were awaiting our turn to be helped we could hear others singing their praises and one couple said that they always rent from them when they visit Massachusetts on business and for pleasure. The place was very clean and each worker seemed to enjoy working with each other and serving the customers. We are back in Alabama and have recommended them twice to friends who visited Boston. I had a phone conversation with a man from Enterprise to review my insurance and to reserve a vehicle of at least Corolla size and to be within my insurance coverage. I was confirmed verbally and with an email. Drop my car off at the body shop and was picked up by Enterprise. Then the trouble began at the office. It took over 15 mins after checking in for someone to show me what the associate called "my choices" for a vehicle. I knew that wasn't a good sign. I was correct.... I was shown the Mitsubishi version of a "smart" car. AKA a matchbox car, or a charger which was out of the range for my insurance coverage. I asked where the car was that I reserved and was told these were my choices. Either put my life in other's hands in the teeny tiny car or pay way over what insurance was covering. They did nothing to call other enterprise businesses. I understand my exact vehicle may not be available but one similar should have been esp where I had phone confirmation and email confirmation. Came here for a weekend rental (Saturday 9AM-Sunday 9PM) to help move the rest of my stuff from my apartment. The entire process was very easy and such a breeze- thank goodness! I made my reservation on Priceline.com and I didn't have any problems when it came to pricing- no additional hidden fees and extremely reliable (This is every renter's biggest concern!!). Although I encountered minor kinks when picking up my rental car (I spoke to other associates on the phone the previous day regarding the type of car I wanted but they didn't have it the morning I picked it up), Brandon and his colleague took care of my situation and made sure that I was happy with my rental! ok, let's see were to start, the vehicle that I got was great and definitely suited my needs. but the customer service that I was was very lacking; I booked my reservation online, came in to get a rental due to have car repairs. when I got to the shop I was told that I would have to pay and additional $300-$400 deposit charge, when I question this, since this was never relayed to me the manager ( Edward Ryan-Guilot) stated "everyone knows that". when I questioned him on that he stated that's just the way it is, then relayed that just the way it is. very poor customer service. read more

Risky covid19 behaviors Have been renting from enterprise for more than 15 years regularly, and for long periods of times. Had a truck rental for a few weeks and was called to stop by to extend the agreement, instead it was canceled, the keys of the truck were taken out and I was told to exit the truck and was left stranded in there parking lot while the whole staff got into a car and drove away, never will come near them again. Nothing but a bunch of A...... hol....s Also not the ideal place if you are covid19 vulnerable, the manager has his mask on his neck talking to people, no hand sanitization after holding car handles and door knobs, very risky behaviors. read more

Sleazy and dishonest are the first words that come to mind! I came in to rent a car because my car was in the shop for repairs. The insurance provider of the other car covered my rental costs. I asked the enterprise agent for an SUV while still at the repair shop. I told the agent that my car is an SUV, and that I want something to match as that's all I feel safe/comfortable driving. He said that was no problem and before securing the SUV and putting pen to paper I asked if the price would be increased for this preference and was assured that it would not. The agent calls me a few days after returning the car and tells me that the insurance company will not pay for the SUV upcharge (a charge I first asked about and was told I wouldn't get) and asks me to call the insurance company who is not covering the upcharge to haggle them down and try to get coverage because they "only really listen to the customer". ABSOLUTELY NOT WILL I DO YOUR JOB FOR YOU! He then tells me he will have to just expense the charge after I reminded him I asked about this first and was assured there would be no extra charge. Push comes to shove, and I'm checking my credit card statement only to find a new $100+ charge from enterprise. I called the same agent and discussed my upset over this new charge after he specifically told me he was expensing the charges. He was incredibly short this time around and offered to issue a refund to me that would take effect within 24-48 hours. Here we are a week and a half later and the charge is still there i.e. he never issued a refund. I have called and asked to speak with the manager Alexander and people have taken messages for me about 5 times with no returned phone call. Other times someone else tries to "handle" my request that is not Alexander, and I'm sick and tired of this fishy run around with no resolve. This is dirty business, and I've reached out to regional. Where do I begin? My recent car rental experience at your Norwood MA location was nothing short of a nightmare. On December 16, 2020, my vehicle was involved in an accident and was declared a total. I did not have rental on my insurance policy so I needed to pay out of pocket. Booking was easy enough but when I picked up the vehicle the the process was rushed . I gave them my credit card, was told to initial the rental agreement and handed the keys and told that my $200 deposit would be refunded (Which it never was). There was no walkaround whatsoever to note damage to the vehicle. The whole process seemed very haphazard in my opinion. To be honest, the person waiting on me seemed pretty "green" and not familiar with the rental process. The rental agreement (#21JDRH) states "no damage documented" which bothered me because when I got the car home I noticed several dings and scratches on the vehicle. The vehicle was also dirty, windows filthy and stains on the seats all of which I took care of myself by washing the car, vacuuming the rugs and cleaning the windows and interior myself which I didn't mind doing since I was in need of transportation while settling the accident and looking for another car. Fast forward to January 8 2020...I purchased a new car that day and made a point to return the rental the same day so as not to incur more charges. During the check-in process the attendant begins to point out every scratch, nick, and "dent" (the "dent" did not exist BTW) on the vehicle. He then proceeds to tell me I am responsible for this damage. Let me preface my next statement by saying I have worked in the automotive business for 40 years and I've heard every complaint, lie and excuse customers can come up with and I would never pull that on anyone who works in this business. I told him the damage was pre-existing but he persisted in telling me I was responsible for it. Tempers flared and voices escalated as they typically do in these cases. He then calls over the person who handed me they keys to the rental on 12/16 who proceeds to deny that the vehicles damage was not inspected. Oh BTW forgot to mention this was at night close to closing so the entire process was rushed and I reiterate no damage walkaround was performed. After that exchange, I became more upset because I was being accused of lying which I don't take lightly. He then calls over the manager who proceeds to stir up an already heated argument during which he threatens me with physical violence taking off his hat and saying "Do you want to go?" I was in utter disbelief at the way I was being treated. Is this your idea of customer service? Then they recommended returning the vehicle to another Enterprise where maybe they won't write up any "damage" Finally I told them to do what they had to do so I could get out of there. At the end of it all, and this is the best part... I requested a ride a mile down the road to the dealer where I had purchased my car and they refused. I ended up walking down a major highway at night to the dealer where I purchased my car. My question to you is...What kind of operation are you people running? Someone needs to take a serious look at the way the Norwood store is being run. I will never, repeat NEVER rent from Enterprise again. End of story. read more

Oddly enough...I just had game run on me by the Enterprise salesman. Check this out... I wanted to rent an Escalade for Friday and Saturday so I stopped in after work. There was no Escalade but there was a BMW X5. He quoted me $175 which is about $25 higher than the Escalade went for 2 months earlier. I told him that I got the nicer Escalade for less money during the holiday and he dropped the price. I inquired as to whether or not the price was subjective based in the customer and he scrambled for a quick B.S. response...so crap about depreciation. Whatever dude...just rent me the car. I handed him my license and eTrade Debit card and he told me that I needed a credit card for the nicer vehicles. Huh? I used the same card to rent the Escalade 2 months earlier. My car was Hit at the end of May, Geico had connected me Enterprise-Rent a car In Norwood ma. I had gone there and needed an SUV that told me that is not a problem But the SUV would be an extra $10, Then the sales person had asked if I wanted to add one time Protection for $17.99 which is a one time payment I agreed to one time payment of $17.99. They took a Deposit of $163 telling me this is fully refundable! The Auto shop took a month too fix my car. I had the rental for month, After giving back June 28th I was charged $300. On July 14th without my knowledge there was another withdrawal from my account AGAIN for $595 for the insurance $17.99 a day which was not told to me AT ALL. They also did not refund the deposit, The vehicle was returned IN PERFECT CONDITION. I called them and the employee told me nothing could be done because they do not refund, He then says " its busy in here and I don't know what to tell you so ill call you back'. Did not receive a call back called customer service absolutely no solution, My family and I house burned down we are already going through a finical strain. Taking money from someone's account without knowledge is Theft. in total out of pocket $1053 Was stolen from my account, that amount is not including what my insurance paid them. I want my money back. This completely unjust Unfair. According to their google reviews after what had happened to me they scammed a lot of people by doing this unjust behavior. read more

ENTERPRISE IN NORWOOD SUCKS!!! So two weeks ago I get hit on the highway and my car gets totaled. My insurance company gets me a free rental car for 30 days until I can find a new car. All good right? So I go down to enterprise in Norwood and they give me this huge gas guzzling truck, I explain to them I use my car to travel for work all over new England and I need something that is better on gas. The guy says they are short on cars so take the truck and you can swap it out in a few days when they get returns, I say ok. So this was on Tuesday, I return Saturday of that week and ask for a swap. The 5 foot 7 little shit behind the counter cops an attitude with me and rudely repeats "not gonna happen" to me with a very abrasive tone and more or less tells me he refuses to help me. My pregnant wife is standing next to me so instead of following my instincts and grabbing him by his scrawny throat and asking him how he has the balls to treat a paying customer so disrespectfully I smile and leave. The next day I go back and the same little prick is there but today he is quite friendly and swaps out my truck for a sedan that makes way more sense for me. I let the previous day go thinking maybe he just had a bad day and no harm done. So today I go there to turn the car in and get a bill for $125 handed to me. They guy explains it isn't covered by my insurance, I have to pay tax. So go home and call my agent and ask why I was charged. She says she has no idea and she will call them. So now their story changes. They tell her that the charges are because I requested an upgrade and was informed I would have to pay the difference. This never happened!!! Then I ask what is the difference? she tells me $2.74 a day, I had the car for 12 days!!!!! If you do the math that is $32.88, yet I was charged 125$ So now not only does the math not add up but I have them telling my agent that they have been calling me and leaving messages to inform me of the change for 2 weeks, yet I have all my messages and there's only 1 from them that I got yesterday telling me I have to turn the car in. Not to mention that when I got the first truck I signed a contract, when I swapped it out there was no new contract drawn to change the price or issue the new vehicle. This is the type of business they do? They just screw people and then lie to cover it? Their explanations don't even make sense and I am supposed to just pay them? DO NOT GO TO ENTERPRISE IN NORWOOD THEY ARE DISHONEST, RUDE AND THEY SCREW PEOPLE OUT OF MONEY!!! read more

From the initial phone conversation to picking up the beautiful vehicle they had in store for us. Katelynn was the customer service representative we encountered pleasant, cheery, informative and helpful. She took her time to ensure we were properly and thoughtfully handled. Bringing the car back was seamless and pleasant. We encountered Alex which I'm sure the "A" stands for Amazing! I've rented from this location over nearly 15 times over the last year. This is probably the busiest location I've visited, and I'm really impressed by excellent customer service I've received each time. The staff is high energy, enthusiastic, probably a bit stretched, but always professional. I've interacted with Alex, Brandon, Chris, and Colby during my visits so far, and I'm impressed by the team spirit amongst them when taking care of customers. In the very few occasions I've been overcharged (often when swapping cars), they've been prompt to notice it and fix it.
