Over Easter weekend, I had arranged for a 7-seat vehicle and received a clear confirmation from your staff. We relied on that confirmation when planning our transportation. However, when we arrived, we were informed that the vehicle was no longer available. This contradiction was both frustrating and unacceptable, as it directly impacted our plans. During this interaction, I expressed frustration at the situation, which I believe was reasonable given the circumstances. At no point did I threaten any employee. Despite this, one staff member accused me of making threats--an allegation that is completely false and appears to have been used to deflect from the failure to honor the original commitment. We then attempted to resolve the issue at a second location, but were denied service based solely on the claim that I was "upset." While I was indeed frustrated, my behavior did not warrant refusal of service, and the situation could have been handled with basic professionalism and de-escalation. As someone with years of experience in sales and customer service, I find the handling of this situation deeply concerning. The combination of misinformation, lack of accountability, and refusal to assist reflects poorly on your organization. I would appreciate a formal review of this incident, including clarification on why a confirmed reservation was not honored, why false allegations were made, and why service was denied at a second location. Short version: They're great, so long as your rental car doesn't break down on you and your family at night. Good: Most of the staff is friendly. Almost always have cars available (not always the one you requested). Bad: Their roadside service is a joke if you break down at night. They rent out their cars based on who comes in first, regardless if they have a reservation which tends to leave the person with a reservation later in the day without the type of car they requested. They cannot accommodate a family if your rental breaks down and will leave you on the side of the road at night, but they'll be sure to send someone for their car. Long version: Enterprise used to be my go-to rental place. Though, I have had a few hiccups here; tire pressure not being checked before giving me the vehicle, and when I called to let them know about the tire pressure (not even a minute after leaving) they said "Oh, just take it to a pep boys or a tire place, they can take care of it for free". Uumm.. I'm not sure about you, but most people I know (myself included) rent cars because our vehicles aren't in good enough shape to take on a road trip, I should not have to take time from my trip to fix something that should have already been fixed before they gave the car to me. This last trip I was given a brand spanking new SUV, only a couple thousand miles on it. Picked it up on my lunch and was ready to head out after work with my baby, mom and sister to head up north. Early on, on our drive I noticed something wet on the floor, but figured maybe it was just my flip flop was wet when I got in or something odd like that, then as we were making our way past Castaic, my leg touched the side of the inside middle of the car (near where the pedals are) and it was HOT to the touch and even more wet than a few minutes prior. Then smoke started to fill the inside of the car! I pulled over as quickly as possible onto the side of highway 5. Got out of the car, took my kid out and let the car clear out at a loss for what to do. I called the Enterprise roadside number that the sales people always remind me to use if I need to. I was on the phone with them for quite some time trying to figure out what to do as it was starting to get dark. Initially they told me to just drive to the next town. WHAT? You want me to drive with a car that is leaking fluid into the cabin of the car and that has smoke coming into the car??? I let her know that the next town was quite a distance away and there was no way I would even try to make it there with the car in the condition that it was. She then asked me to drive to Burbank... Again I told her there is no way I can drive that far out. She said that Burbank was the closest open place to get me a replacement car. When it finally clicked in her head that I could NOT drive out to the next town, let alone Burbank in this car, she then said that she didn't know what to tell me. That we would "just have to figure something out". Told me that they would be sending someone for a car, but that they could not accommodate my family. I asked her "So basically you're telling me that you are going to send someone for your guys' car, but you are going to leave my family and I, with a baby on the side of a busy highway at night?" She said that she had no other solutions so I would need to look into getting an Uber or a Taxi, and just find a hotel to stay at nearby until I could get to an Enterprise in the morning. When the tow truck driver arrived for the rental car, he was blown away that we were told that they could not accommodate us. Thank goodness for this tow truck driver, he refused to leave us on the side of the highway at night with a baby, and he dropped us off at a McDonalds so we wouldn't have to wait for our ride outside at night with a baby. When I went to the Enterprise office the next morning to get another car to try and make it for at least part of my trip, I had to wait for them to verify what I told them. The roadside assistance folks apparently didn't leave any notes on what happened. So, they had to call the tow yard and initially would not take the tow yard employee's word that the vehicle was there, instead insisted that someone go out and physically check that it was there. On one hand I understand their need to verify that the vehicle is where it is supposed to be, on the other hand, as a customer who was inconvenienced by their faulty vehicle, it was unbelievably annoying. When I returned the vehicle the woman who helped me out was very apologetic (unlike the one I dealt with while trying to get another car), she did not charge me for the entire weekend, which I was grateful for; however, still does rectify the fact that as a car rental company, they have no backup plan in place in the event that their vehicle breaks down and more importantly that they were willing to leave a family and child on the side of a busy highway at night. read more

Horrible experience! I needed a SUV for my trip to Mammoth for a holiday weekend. I understood that it was going to busy, but this office only had two employees and they were completely swamped! They were supposed to pick me up, but neglected to call me that they were going to be late. Luckily, my friend happened to be in the area and dropped me off at their location. After getting the paperwork sorted, the representative told me I had to rent chains at the local Pep Boys. That was false information. Granted, I found it suspicious that chains would be rented, but it was my first snow trip and I had no clue what I was in for. So I had to buy chains for a car that I do not own. I had a tight schedule when returning the vehicle because I had rented a snowboard and needed to return it right away. There was only one employee and there were 6 customers in line and growing. My paperwork was sorted out quickly, but I needed a ride back home. I couldn't wait any longer as the snowboard rental shop was closing, and I inconvenienced another friend to give me a ride. I eventually went to the Enterprise website and emailed them stating what I had gone through. They stated that chains were not allowed on rental vehicles and that all rentals had weatherproof tires. I will probably use Enterprise again, since there are AAA discounts and their prices are the best in comparison. But I will definitely not rent from this Port Hueneme location. read more

The manager doesn't keep house they wanted to rent me a car the size of a civic and it was filthy covered in bird poop and the inside was not sanitized. I drive a large SUV and Ford made arrangements for my rental mind you I was already a little irritated then the employee and the manager both got snarky with me because I was severely disappointed with the vehicles and the fact that it was literally all dented up yes I did curse but I didn't curse her or the employee out. I said the car was crappy a little hoopty I didn't call her the b word or curse in a derogatory manner they were just overly sensitive your job is customer service if you cannot provide customer service, maybe you should rethink your profession!! You are not always going to get the sunshine and rainbow customers it's your job to manage the situation. You don't get snarky with a customer who is already irritated and send them to a different location because guess what because you were incapable of managing you lost a sale. Negative 1! Considering BBB. We were rear ended in November 2022. driver of a Lexus SUV claimed all responsibility he was at fault. He didn't apply brake thought his auto safety features would kick in but it didn't. His insurance is with Allstate. Our QX60 took the brunt of the accident. No one including family dog was injured. His Lexus small SUV not even a scratch!! Our QX60 was in the body shop from December 2nd to February 14, 2023. Electrical equipment n sensors, all had to be replaced plus rear hatch/trunk door n quarter panel. Sooo I called Enterprise for a rental from Enterprise by our local Costco being that location was just a couple of blocks away from body shop. BUT the one furthest away told Our driver to leave he got it!! Which I didn't find out until our drive to Enterprise way out on HWY 1 Oxnard Blvd! I asked why such a long drive when Costco was 5 minutes away. We'll when we finally got to location 30+minutes away I was not pleased. The type of car I had RSVP because of my husband's size n mine "Luis Delgado " Mgr said he only had a small SUV! Luis should've been up front from the beginning n had not sent our RSVP with the Costco location!! Soo we tried the small SUV. He also didn't have the size we needed. Also told Luis Allstate is covering cost. But he said he needed a credit card to hold on file "I told him he is NOT to charge my card without speaking to me first"! All he said was ok, but he also stated that Allstate is very slow in responding. Told him we are also insured by our own if needed. NOW we had to try 3 Small SUVs and they were all extremely tight fitting for us. 2x both full of gas we had to take back due to not safe or comfortable for us. My husband's knees were pressed against the dash we were so tightly squeezed together in ALL SUVs. Plus Luis never credited our 2 full tanks of gas. When I received my AX bill Luis had billed our card without any calls to update me. He should be billing AllState . I could've given him a copy of our FULL coverage on rentals if he he needed. But he never called me! Rentals were covered by Allstate Insurance. He just didn't want to do the paperwork. This was not our verbal agreement ! I remembered how he disliked the paper work n phone calls dealing with Allstate, his words! What I didn't know he was transferring to another location n I think he wanted to close out all his accounts at this location. Luis should've called me regarding any problems he maybe having with Allstate. Soo I would not recommend doing business with Luis D. This is not how you treat customers. Take that time to call customer if you're having problems or you're being transferred to another location and don't want to have any open accounts under your name! Soo word of wisdom, listen to your customers needs in size of vehicle and if you're having trouble with a payment from the party that should be paying call YOUR customer with FYI n don't send closest rental car dealership from body shop who was first choice by customer for their convenience just to get the $$! Plus all all 3 rentals were extremely too tight of a squeeze to be safe in. Knees up to dashboard very tight to move legs to brake etc etc. I apologize for such a negative review but people be ware! Can I give Enterprise a -2 rating? Worst service ever received. I was discriminated against and verbally insulted by two members of staff. They didn't want to help me by answering questions about the vehicles as i was attempting to make an informed decision. The branch manager Corky called me a week or two after the incident told me to call him the next time i wanted to rent and he would take care of me for the poor experience. I called him a few weeks later and he didn't honor what he said. He offered me no coupon, no upgrades, just permission to rent from that location.. I am a veteran. Disabled. My fellow servicemen rent from this location around the clock daily. Enterprises turn over with employees is high in that office. Most times service was good. But allowing employees to discriminate against anyone is just horrible. I want my brothers and sisters to be aware of this location and its team. This location sucks pretty bad. Two people working and answering calls in the middle of my paperwork? I'm sure it helped the people on the phone but they were wasting my time. I had a double upgrade coupon and requested a full size. No full size cars on the lot. Since I was in a rush I left with a piece of shit Chrysler that was dirty and the gas tank on empty. Awesome! I went to get gas at costco and the line was too long so I stopped in the Enterprise on Ventura Blvd. and they had a ton of cars available. Yeah, I reserved a vehicle with only a few hours between the time I needed to pick it up. That does give some douche in a cheap shirt&tie to get an attitude. The fecal head called after I reserved, to let me know that there were no cars and they will have one when I arrive. He also, stated that he would notify me if no vehicle is available a half hour before pick up, So, I took a jog over, why not? I would like to commend the staff at Enterprise for their outstanding handling of my insurance rental. I was the victim of a collision and the insurance company was fighting their liability coverage. It was so stressful having to fight them to honor their obligation. However, CARLY was amazing!!! She did her best to alleviate my anxiety and truly made a world of difference in my experience. We have used Enterprise quite a few times in the past, and this was by far the best experience we have ever encountered renting a vehicle with them or any other company. Luis, the Assistant Manager, was amazing. We were visiting for our 25th anniversary weekend, and ended up deciding to rent a vehicle for our stay. My husband called on Saturday late morning and they were able to get us a car. When we got there, he gave us an upgrade. Every customer that he came in contact he was so pleasant. Top notch customer service. We returned the vehicle this morning and my husband called ahead of time and they were able to give us a ride to the train station. I rented vehicles from Enterprise for the last 23 years.Ipicked up a van on Thursday at 10am for a Senior Activity Center field trip.The rep told my husband and I if we returned it by end of day 6pm we would be charged for one day. I called Enterprise from work and ordered a pick-up truck to move some items from Port Hueneme to Fresno and back. The rate was the lowest one in the entire area and no mileage penalties. Michelle Post, the Branch Rental Manager helped me when I arrived. She had a welcoming grin on her face, checked out the vehicle and I was off in about 10 minutes or less. I returned it and Michelle was busy with a client, but I got the same big smile and she multi-tasked asking me how it went, did I have any problems or anything I needed help with. Then Baylee Gerardo came into the office and finished my paperwork. Everything was done in less than 10 minutes again. Thank you so much Michelle. I rarely give 5 reviews as it means there is no more room for improvement. We should always strive to improve. I will say that I have had the very best service so far. For nearly 4 months, I have been using this location and the staff have been nothing but professional and courteous. They always greet me using my first name upon entry. Always provide me with courtesy upgrades when vehicles are unavailable on location. Never had any issues but it doesn't mean it will be the same for others. As long as you have the funds and required documentation, you should have no problems. Those that have problems usually have problems in other areas in their lives. My only reason for not giving 5 stars is because this was only my first time renting a car with them. I must say these employees were great!! As soon as I walked in one of the young gentlemen greeted me and helped me out right away. He was very friendly and once I told him where I was going he even gave me tips about my trip and I must say they were SO helpful! :) When we went to get the car he was very polite and he got my friends and I an almost brand new car!! Literally it had like 200 miles on it!! Our road trip wouldn't have been so good if it wasn't because of their help! I will definitely be back to rent with them!! After renting a car this weekend I am really starting to lose confidence in this place. The customer service is not good anymore. To give you a look at what i went through you will get the picture. First my experience with Enterprise SUCKED!! my reservation was for 12p we got their late 1225p, as we got the paperwork completed we walked outside to an ugly white Dodge Caravan upon opening the door for inspection it was quite obvious the van was returned from the previous renter it was not clean or serviced. It still had trash in the van from previous renter. The seats were not attached so my husband had to help the associate with latching them in place and the associate remarked you shouldnt even be doing this and i remarked yeah this should have been done before we even got here. After a good 30 minutes of getting the seats in place the associate asked if we wanted to drive over to the Oxnard Airport to get the car cleaned and i said no this should have been done way before we got there and mind you i was late for my reservation giving the rental place ample time to have it ready for us. I am a paying customer putting up my money to pay for great service. This place sucked the manager was behind the counter praising her management history and how do i know this her 7 years is the day of my daughters bday July 20. To make matters worse she is manager at the airport one damn!!!!! I get a great deal from my insurance company to rent vans actually a really great deal and i believe that is why i get bad customer service. Talk about subpar service. Call and ask before you get there to make sure your car is cleaned and in good working order damn our van sounded like it was about to break down on the freeway. Channel Islands Enterprise does not deserve even a damn star!!!! Wish Lou and the old staff could come back they were the best. the staff there now, by far the worse ever since I've been renting, not going into details but after my terrible rental experience last week my wife called and complained about them and i received a fake ass "I'm sorry call from the district manager who said he would send me an email with his info and before I rent again to send him a message and he would take care of us personally, well still waitin for that info,surprise, not... By the way brothas beware don't think Tom likes the darker humans, he gonna take you through hell tryin to get you a car as if ur renting some sort of Bentley or something. Then when you return it he's gonna hit you with the old "where'd that scratch come from " and scrutinize every little scratch on the car and then try to blame you for it.
