I encountered some challenges during my recent (today) visit to the Prospect Park PA location, primarily due to the interaction with an employee I believe to be the manager. I had made an online reservation for a truck, but upon arrival, he requested two utility bills, which I had to retrieve from my phone because I gave him a debit card. When I mentioned that I needed a truck, he indicated that a major credit card was necessary for the rental. Do you mean to tell me that the manager did not know what my reservation was for? He wasted my time trying to get two utility bills from my phone, only to tell me that I needed a credit card. This required me to walk home to obtain it, which was quite inconvenient. After returning and expressing my concerns, he still declined to proceed with the rental. I rent there all of the time, everything runs smooth, and the staff is great when he is not there. He is rude and has terrible customer service skills. I plan to contact corporate to discuss this experience and hope for a resolution. Maybe he needs to take classes on customer service because I also experienced him rolling his eyes at a lady whose reservation they got wrong. read more

I came to this location to rent a car through my hotel purchase, little did I know, I got more than what I bargained for here. I was initially charged about $160 for a three day rental car, I thought this was a great deal considering the car I got and for a long weekend. However, little did I know this location would be closed on Sunday and was never told that this would happen. I called ahead to make sure dropping off the car there would work but the customer service agent did not know either, so instead I had to drop off the vehicle at a different location. But when I did so, I was charged an extra $80 to do so. Normally, it's usually fine when this happens because different locations charge different rates. But because the company was not clear with it's policy about this, lack of clarity of when and where to drop off the vehicle, and the extra charges. I will not be doing business with this company anytime soon. read more

Very disappointed!!! I didn't choose this company, my insurance company did it. They show up at my body shop parking spot with running car and all of the windows was rolling down. AC was running in full. The card reading machine was broken, so the person from the company told me that I should go all the way up to you there enterprise location to scan my credit card. On my way back home I start smell weed in the car. It was very weird and I was thinking maybe it is from their car that driving next to me. The car stays outside for the whole day, at the evening me and my family decided to go grab some ice cream. When we did open the car door the smell was so strong that everybody was like - Uhhh! This is disgusting. I am allergic and asthmatic, I cannot stand this smell. I feel myself very very sick when I smell Marijuana. It was too late to return the car so I did it at the next day morning. The person in their enterprise was acting like he cannot smoke anything. But the smell was so strong that I should drive all the way back to the location with the open windows. As I know it's illegal to smoke marijuana when you're driving and especially in the rent car. I could not imagine what people can think about me or a police officer if he decides to pull me out... that I am a drug user?! So this car rent not only hurt my feeling, ruin my family evening, my next day work, and make me a looks like I am a drug user... but they hurt my health and well-being! After all, they charge me around $50 for the one day of driving in this stinky car, from my body shop, to scan my credit card in their location, to my way back home, and back to them. They doesn't let clients go inside, all clients should stay outside in front of the building, on the hot sun without any option do you hide from it. A good experience! Customer service was excellent. The car wasn't my favorite, but it was fine. I'll rent from here again.

A few comments reflecting my personal experience and posts from other customers. First, I've never had a bad experience at this branch. The staff is always friendly and willing to work with you. I've dealt with three branch managers so far, Melanie, Ralph & Lauren. VERY good managers and trainers. A favorite staff member is Melissa, what a bubbly personality!! Second, Car rental business is an almost perfect example of market economics. During peak demand periods they charge more. This is true of ALL rental companies or they wouldn't be in business. If you use any comparison tools you'll see this is true. Yes, it can cost you a lot in the summer but after Labor day I've rented cars/Suv's for less than $15 a day. The same vehicle might cost $50-$80 during summer or holidays. If you are mad at Enterprise about this, why slam the local branch worker or tell readers to go to another place for better rate. Most likely rate will be similar. Second, Enterprise has more neighborhood/non-airport locations than its competitors. They are more convenient if you want an insurance replacement, are going on a trip or just need another vehicle. read more

I was charged $60 for them to vacuum out my car.To make matters worse they did an unauthorized withdraw from my checking account for $50 which caused me to be overdrawn.I put the $50 down when I got the car with them explaining I would get it back when I returned the car.They said it had a smoke smell which the manager told me costs $40 to get rid of,they still had the $50 I put down on the car.They said they had to vacuum it out,so they did another $50 withdraw from my checking account without notifying me which caused my bank account to be overdrawn. I complained to customer care on the 27th and was told a manager would be in contact with mr,here it is the 5th of November and I still have heard nothing from them. read more

I didn't want to have to do this but Enterprise leaves me no choice. I rented a truck at a ridiculous rate of $543.00 a week ($78 a day). Well I was told for each day I return it early I will be refunded ($78 per day) so I returned it on the 5th day only to still be charged the whole $543. I called Prospect Park office and spoke to Mario. Not only was he rude in not assisting me, but then tells me that's just how it goes! You paid for 5 days. If you kept it for 7 you would have only paid $2-$3 a day for the final 2 days. I'm upset I was mislead and no action is being taken to help me. That's not how I work! Sorry Prospect Park Enterprise. Avoid and save yourself some money. They will tell you if you return you rental early you will get a refund. I rented for a week and returned it two days early and said they could not give me paperwork due to covid but I would get credit for the days it wasn't used. I call this location a week later after only seeing a $2 refund and this branch told me Enterprise only refunds the taxes on days the car is not used as that's Enterprises refund policy. After getting no where with their local rep I called corporate and they said they're sorry but they have no control over the billing of local branches after agreeing it didn't sound right. Awful experience. Completely unprofessional ... gave my 67year old mom a damaged car ( she has no experience with rentals and doesn't know what to look for) and blamed her for all kinds of damage and mileage. Prospect park location is a complete joke and I will never use this company again. Brought the car back and went right to the spot of damage without looking at the rest of the car. Asked if anyone else would be driving, told them that if it was necessary than yes and he said ok just be careful ... then got butt hurt when I drove it off the lot for her. Got our rental here this morning after arriving in Philadelphia. Pros: Great service. We were offered water and pretzels off the bat and greeted by several employees. In and out quickly and efficiently. Choice of several vehicles. Cons: Price. Insanely expensive. Over $500 for a mid size for one week. Extra $20 per person per day to drive. They tried to convince us to add stuff on. Also the keys are together on a keychain nearly impossible to open, so what's the point of giving us two? I still like Enterprise but wow..can barely afford it anymore. read more

They picked me up at the auto body place, I was offered a free upgrade, unfortunately the upgrade I picked was to big to drive, was able to exchange it no questions asked. They made 2 follow up calls to see if all was ok. Very pleasant employees & polite !! Would use again if need be . read more

Stay away from this place. They are a big scam and out to get your money. They want you to rent the most expensive car so they can create an insurance kick back. We rented a car a car from them and returned it. Within the week, we received a claim from our insurance company that there were scratches to the vehicle, and it had already been fixed. When questioned, they said they called three times and left voicemail messages. The calls were from three different phone numbers. When asked why they didn't text or E-mail, they could not give an answer. When asked why the car was fixed, they could not say anything, but the pictures would be coming soon. They won't return calls and said that the E-mail given does not respond to human questions (don't know what that means - I guess it responds to robots). I have friends who had similar experiences. read more

Horrible horrible customer service I reserved a car 2 months in advance when I arrived from my flight to this location they had no vehicle ready but instead told me because I was from out of state I had to go to the airport location. So I did where they would not honor my reservation price of 239 plus tax and 60 for collision. I have reserved a car for $219.00. After the reservation a lady from enterprise office called to make sure that I will show up for my reservation. I asked her if there are any additional fee that I will have to pay, she offered insurance and informed me that they will keep $100.00 as a deposit. So everything was OK. I went on Monday to pick the car up. Everything was fine and I had plans as where I will travel by enterprise car. I gave them my DL and Debit Card (VISA), he said they have to keep $400.00 as a deposit. I remember that the lady who was speaking to me via the phone a couple days ago, told me that they require $100.00 as a deposit, however this guy told me that, that lady informed me incorrectly and they require $400.00 deposit. The rep showed up with what THEY chose as my rental without even asking me what I preferred. The vehicle was dirty inside scratched and ready for used car sale on the outside with high mileage and ran like it.They charged myself and my insurance top dollar for this though and quoted me not the actual rental cost but my percent of the rental charge. When I phoned to ask why this was that I was not made aware of the total rental charge the rep was very dismissive to say "but you only paid your percent" that is not up to you to decide over charging me for a vehicle I did not make the choice to rent is only anything. Oh they also told me on the phone they were going to hold 50.00 and then when the rep showed up it was 100.00 (better not have been because of my ethnicity). LOVE this rental location! Twice recently I've had to rent cars because my car wouldn't make the trip. Each time the customer service was great, there was no pressure to add anything, and the employees were awesome. The last time there was a problem with my credit card and Melissa worked with me to make sure that I got a car that day, even after closing. Great people, great service, great experience. I highly recommend going there. I just bought a new car and am a little sad that I won't be back for a while. read more

Typically rent from a center city location but last week it was more convenient for me to rent from the prospect park location for my business travel to Binghamton NY. Melissa was helping me select a car, process the rental to get me on my way and looking back, there were a few small things that, all together, I should have seen as a MAJOR red flag... starting with the fact that she asked whether or not I was returning the rental car to a different location AND specifically for documentation reasons which at the time, I did not question this bc I assumed I was in good hands (wrong). Followed by a flat tire that was clearly a previous bad tire patch per the AAA tow driver. And wine I was less halfway thru my travels which delayed me total of 3 hours bc, with the donut, I had to swap the car out in Allentown. When I arrived there, I learned there was undocumented damage to the vehicle. And to top it off, the area manager told me that they're holding me accountable for this damage and they're choosing to take Melissa's word over mine. She did not care that I've been a plus member for over 5 years... this was the area manager. Clearly she is the root to this branch's issues and I am appalled that they are clearly just trying to cover their butts. Do NOT rent from this location. Like ever. There's another one not too far that HAS to be better than this one bc it is THE WORST. Enterprise will completely lose my business over this. read more

They required me to provide detailed auto insurance information before renting the car. First time I've had ANY rental place ask for that kind of information. I told that to them and they said that is standard policy. I also explained that my credit card offer primary insurance coverage but they still said that it is standard Enterprise policy to record the driver's car insurance coverage before releasing the car. read more
