I was given a car that later I found had no windshield washer fluid. I replied to the text message I received after renting but I didn't get a response for 3 days. When I did get a response, the solution was to drive back to the Enterprise at the airport to get fluid--no thanks. So for 5 days every time I needed to clean the window I had to go to the gas station. When I dropped off the car, the rep checking me in did give me a discount which was nice. Enterprise staff needs to do a better job of detailing the cars and why send a text message that says let us know if you need anything and not respond. read more

I would like to get my wallet back this penalize me for my exam and driving because the wallet is right inside the glove box with my other bag. On top of my previous one star review, I was finally charged for my previous rental which was well over the agreement. I was charged a mileage fee that i should not have, and on top of that the fee itself accounted for miles i did not drive. I was in a mid size sedan not a luxury, which is not subject to excess mileage fees. I tried contacting the branch and they do not take calls, so the one person who did finally call to charge the card left a voicemail and was very unprofessional from his personal phone number and completely went against what the fucking enterprise website says again as policy. I've escalated this whole ordeal to corporate and awaiting further instruction. DO NOT RENT FROM THIS LOCATION. I received a letter in the mail 2 months after I rented a car claiming I was responsible for damages that I didn't cause. Enterprise employee walked the car at drop off and checked me in and everything was fine. The mail I received 2 months later had photos taken days after I dropped off the car and at a location other than RDU. Additionally, the plates in photos didn't match the plates on the car when I rented it and the photos showed that the car had been driven for several miles more than just the trip to the body shop. Why would the plates be changed after I dropped it off and before they took it to a body shop? I requested time stamped photos, video or even a report that shows damages anywhere close to the time that I dropped off the vehicle and was told I would need a court order to get these things (which they obviously don't have since their own records show it was undamaged at drop off). They have refused to drop these ridiculous charges. I will be filing complaints with the BBB and with the attorney general. read more

We rented an SUV on June 23rd for 9 days. The check in was hectic and long but the shuttle driver was great. Once we got to our AIRBnB we realized the whole back seat of the SUV had not been cleaned. There were food scrapes all over the seats and floor. When we returned the car, we mentioned the problem to Corbin Garrett who immediately apologized and gave us a $50 discount on the rental. Had he not done this we would not have rented from Enterprise again. Thanks Corbin! I've rented at this RDU location multiple times. For this trip, just not sure what happened. There was an issue with a charge but resolved itself when I returned today. Rep kept telling me it was tax...nope hadn't adjusted the time based on when I came in. But the reason for my review-the car they gave me just really shocked me. Walk outside and just random cars being pulled up and customers being asked if they are okay with that one. The young lady asked if I was ok with a 4 Runner sitting there with the door open and wet seats. Because I was only renting for a quick one day work trip and not much driving, told her I was fine with whatever. Didn't inspect the vehicle with me at all and just said "hop in" Soon as I went to survey the vehicle, black marks all over the white paint, a small dent in the door. Coffee spilled all over the console and coffee stains on the passenger seat. The car hadn't been cleaned at all. Food in between the seats. And the worst part was the water on the seats. Almost like it went through the wash with the windows cracked. Moonroof was open, back glass was open. Mentioned the dents and scuffs to the lady at the gate and she didn't seem phased at all....just simply said it was probably noted. I would never give a customer a car with wet seats-nothing to dry them with or not point out all the black scuffs and dings in the vehicle. And the dirtiness of the interior-just gross. When I went online to book the rental, they gave me a discount for my loyalty without me having to ask. I didn't realize that because my insurance had always used them anytime I was in an accident, I was considered a loyal customer, so that gave me a lower price than other companies. Additionally, when I picked up the car at 12:15am they were professional, friendly and courteous when many employees would have been ready to leave that close to closing time on July 4th eve. They couldn't have been nicer. Plus, when we returned the car, since it wasn't full when I picked it up and it was almost full when I returned it, they gave me a courtesy discount of $40 since I had prepaid for the non-refundable refueling. All of these are superb customer service that you don't find as often these days. I rented this car at the RDU airport that I fly into annually to visit friends and I can honestly say, they will get my business from now on. Policies are made by humans and stand to be scrutinized. When we don't scrutinize for sensibility, we lose out. Enterprise Rent -A- Car HAS FOREVER LOST MY BUSINESS. Hertz (RDU Location) saved us in this instance. We have been long time Enterprise rental customers in North Carolina, Florida and other places I have personally expressed some dissatisfaction in the past with some unprofessional behaviors or reservation issues. Monday September 5th, 2022, at Raleigh Durham International would be the day I said never again. After placing a reservation via phone, for a one-way rental we arrived only to be told we needed a credit card. Now this was new to us given previous rentals allowed us to use our debit card which required holding an additional $500. 00 until the vehicle is returned. We had since paid off credit card balances and kept only a low balance for minor purchases. We were told that NC residents are required to have proof of return flight if not using a credit card. This did not make sense, but in accordance with this stated policy there was a sign (see below picture) solidifying this ridiculous policy. Why, will this ensure that a car cannot be stolen, and why is this only the case for NC residents? We caught the next shuttle back to the airport terminals where our driver was waiting just in case. At this time, we are wondering should be fly instead which would be more expense then planned. We needed to get to another state that evening so my husband purchased a plane ticket to return home so we could fulfill Enterprises requirement, stated and posted (See image below). We were told this is the airport's requirement. Nevertheless, with ticket in hand we headed back to Enterprises car lot and ready to drive off with our rental. Can you believe we were told that even with a return flight " you cannot rent a car with the instate driver's license". WHAT? My husband began making calls to get us a rental car. I was asked if I wanted to speak with the manager, I learned prior to seeing his uselessness was not intended to do anything or make an exception or look at our loyalty. Yes, I heard his tone of disinterest over the phone as he spoke with his employee prior to making his useless appearance. But he did manage to contradict the policy further by telling me that we would need a round trip ticket. Hmm? Are these employees understanding their own policy? As stated to the employee at the counter this sign is very ambiguous. If you do not intend on honoring NC license, this display needs to state with the exception of... Given this was a holiday weekend some other rental agencies were closed. However, Thrifty at Hertz lot LOCATED AT THE AIRPORT, rented us a vehicle using our debit card, a $500 hold and a soft pull credit check, return flight. No contradictory policy citations. My husband has since been in touch with Enterpriser rent a car customer service who on the phone read their best script as if they really found our situation to be empathetic. Someone will call us back that day we were told. Well, crickets. Part of me wonders if we are being discriminated against at Enterprise. Because of the delay Enterprise cost us three hours of travel time. I will never rent again from this company. I only used their services for my current vacation because they offered the best rates on Expedia. Now I know why and I suggest you avoid this company. When I picked up the car we were directed by the agent to cross the lot with him into a dirty secluded area. The agent looked over the car which had lots of small dents and looked like a truly used car. The agent had a small chart and said "not to worry" about the small dents since they were "less than a silver dollar in size." I drove the car, free of incidents, and turned it in at a pre-arranged Enterprise facility in Washington DC. Now, suddenly they became very concerned about almost invisible dents on the roof of the car which were never noted at RDU. The check-in agent asked for my insurance information and said they would first check with the rental center at RDU to verify these were existing dents. In fact they lied and immediately filed a claim with my insurance which contacted me an hour later. I explained to them the car was not damaged by me, that the small dents were barely visible and caused by someone else. In any event I insisted my insurance dispute and deny the claim. I don't like scammers and that's exactly what is happening here. At best I can call them highly suspect and negligent but the bottom line is they gave me somewhat of a junker and now expect me to fix it up. Well no way is that going to happen. No one explained that there would be an "administrative fee" of $15/toll - up to $90 max. This was on page 5 of the contract. Plate Pass was not mentioned - not sure of the cost for this. If I can give this place a ZERO, I would!!! I moved to the Carolinas from NYC with my family on 6/30. Our reservation was booked for months! Upon arrival we noticed a policy change posted at the desk that they no longer accept debit cards without a return flight. This is now a huge issue as we literally just moved from another state. So I asked 'Emily' (the woman at the counter) what our options were as this is a new policy that they put in place and we don't have a return flight. Emily informed us that we would have to try one of the smaller Enterprise locations off airport property. I asked her if she can give me the number to the closest location and she told me to Google it!!! I reiterated that we just moved here and do not know the area at all and asked again if she can assist with the phone number. Emily then says, 'if you go to your phone's browser and go to Google and type in Enterprise, you should be able to find it!' At this point my husband is annoyed as she is providing no help, it was 99 degrees outside, and we had a bunch of luggage and our children in tow with us. He says to her, how can you put a new policy in place and NOT help a customer. How hard is it to help find another location. Emily then rolls her eyes and replies, 'This is above my pay grade. NEXT!' and proceeds to the next customer. I then asked to speak to a manager. About 10 minutes later a woman named Nicole walks over and identifies herself as the assistant manager. She apologies and admits that there was a recent policy change due to an overwhelming amount of fraud that they have encountered during Covid. I completely get this and explained that I just needed assistance with finding another location. She did not provide and info and offered to have her shuttle take us to to one of the other rental places within the airport property. I then asked her if she can help provide the number so that I could check with them before lugging my kids and all of our stuff. She can't help. My husband (now clearly frustrated) says to me, how hard is it to provide a phone number out to even try to help a customer after last minute policy changes that are not noted on their website. Nicole then tells us to leave or she will call the police because 'she didn't like his tone.' My husband is 6"5 and over 200 - he naturally has a very deep and loud voice. Can't change that. So I explained to her that he was not speaking to her and that is just the natural tone to his voice. She said either leave or I will have the police remove you. I told her to do what she needed to do. I was not putting my kids out in the heat until I figured out what we were going to do and how we will get a rental. Three police officers arrive. I asked to speak to one outside and explained the situation. He informed his colleagues that it was a customer service issue and apologized to us. He said that unfortunately, they call the police for customer service issues all the time! This is wrong and a waste of valuable resources and tax payers money! The officer then pulled out his own cell phone to help find a number to a local rental. This is all that we wanted both women to do! It should have never gotten to this point! After confirming with another company across the lot that I can use my debit, the officer stood with my family for over 2 hours while I solidified my rental! I have worked in hospitality and customer service for over 25 years, this is not how you treat customers. I later called Enterprise corporate number to file a complaint. I was given a bogus case number (37241402) by the representative on the phone who stated that a supervisor should be calling me within 72 hours. I say bogus as when I called a week later to follow up, that number did not exist according to a new representative (Antonio). He said that he can see that I called previously but there weren't any notes in the system. So I had to explain the situation all over again to another rep who again promised that I would hear back within 72 hours and re-issued the same case number. He promised that the case number is now valid. It's been over two weeks, NO ONE has returned any of my calls which tells me how much Enterprise cares about their customers and customer complaints. I've used Enterprise for years. This was not the first time that I used my debit there either. The issue is not the policy change but the lack of assistance and professionalism by their staff. Returned car in the same condition we received the car. Was accused of "over spraying". When we walked around the car with employee neither of us notice the spot in question which was low on the front right bumper. We have asked for all rental and repair reports for this vehicle(as suggested from a former Enterprise employee) as some note of the spot in question should of been notice somewhere along the line if employees were doing their job. Have had no response just request for our insurance info or payment. Guess we were naive but trusted the employee walking around. Beware when renting from Enterprise. I have used Enterprise in the past in my home state for various things, but this particular location was the worst experience I've ever had with car rental. I came to Raleigh for a business trip. I personally don't have a corporate credit card yet, but my boss does, so for convenience we booked the flights, car rental and hotel on his so I don't need to file a billion receipts for reimbursement. When i arrived at the Enterprise on the RDU shuttle, they checked the reservation and asked if my name was Lisa Something-or-other. Nope, not me, clearly. Checked again, still wrong. We supposed maybe someone entered their license number wrong and it ended up being mine so it booted my reservation? Either way we needed to start a new booking. The trouble with this was that I don't have a company card, so i have to book and pay with my personal card and then hope that my company reimburses me (they should but sometimes it turns into a federal case so who knows). 118.00 on my personal card and I grab my 2018 Ford Fusion and be on my way. Drove it 5 minutes to the hotel, park, go inside for the night. Next morning I get ready, breakfast, come outside and push the ignition start. This car will not shift out of park, the check engine light is on, it's telling me the hood is open and it's clearly not. I figure it's basically a big computer, shut it off, turn it back on, same thing. I'm googling how to fix this, what's wrong with it, try messing with the parking brake button, hidden brake release thing under the console, everything. At this point it's been about 20 minutes. I've called the desk at the RDU Enterprise a bunch of times, no answer, tried the roadside assistance line through their number and just end up on a dead line with no person, no hold music, no nothing. Call my boss, tell him I'm going to be late to the meeting, and end up ordering an Uber to the meeting location. Another unnecessary 20-something bucks I'm gonna have to claim and pray for reimbursement. Lunch break. Called again, still can't talk to anyone. Afternoon meetings, dinner meetings, get back to hotel via my very nice boss who offered to drop me off. Call again...7 times. Tried the desk, tried the roadside assistance line, STILL nothing on that one but dead air. So I look up the general national hotline and call them, they transfer me to the general roadside assistance line, and they set up a flatbed to come get this thing and bring it back to the rental location. I ask her advice on how to get a refund for a car I didn't drive more than 2 miles from the pickup spot due to mechanical errors, she says it would have to be from the desk in person, which means I now need to cut a meeting short tomorrow so I can get to the desk in person and hash this out before my flight leaves. Guy shows up, gets in, presses the button. It'll shift out of park now, but the hood warning is still on and so is the engine light. They ask if i want a different car but I tell them there's no point since I'm leaving the following day and just take this thing. I have no idea if I'll get a refund tomorrow, but I called this place ALL DAY trying to get help and was met with nothing. This is an airport location, they service out of towners who aren't familiar with the area and need a form of transportation. Pick up the freaking phone! read more

Here's the abbreviated version, because really, you don't want to know all this do you? 1. Upon checking in, the car seat that I reserved had the anchor straps all tangled up. It took me a few minutes to get them worked out so that I could tell whether it was indeed a functional carseat (not a big deal that it took me awhile, but it WAS a big deal to the people in line giving me the dirty eye and the rep asking "do you want another one?" and me saying "will it be tangled like this one?" blank stare. I expect car seats to be ready to use. 2. They didn't have the minivan I had reserved (carting around a couple families this week) but "upgraded" me to a Suburban. I get that this is a more expensive rental, but I didn't want a huge, gas-guzzling bus! 3. I spent an HOUR on hold trying to get a hold of this local office so that I could add my brother as a driver for our long drive that day. (Only wanted to pay the fee that day, they had told me to call that day to add him and I could email them a photo of the driver's license.) After multiple attempts, I gave up. Quick drive over to the lot where we were greeted by Patrick. Patrick went above and beyond for us. My boyfriend is military and gave us a discount which we always appreciate. This was my first time ever in North Carolina and he kicked it off on a good note for me! He upgraded us to a Ford Mustang and my boyfriend really enjoyed using the car over the weekend. I rented a car from RDU (they didn't give me the car I had reserved)-20 minutes layer it was making a loud grinding noise. I called and reported the problem to their ROADSIDE ASSISTANCE. The agent barely spoke English. I gave him my location. He said a tow truck would be sent and the closest branch would contact me. Almost 24 hours later, numerous calls to the airport branch, the local branches and ROADSIDE ASSISTANCE I don't have a replacement vehicle and the problem vehicle is parked. I cannot reach anyone at the airport. Do Not Rent from Enterprise-absolutely no concern for customers. They endanger their customers by renting unsound vehicles. They probably don't clean or sanitize the vehicles either. read more
