I bought a 1 year old used RV from them. They said that they had done a complete inspection and service on it, and it was like new. Turns out, the plumbing system had multiple leaks, almost every hose/electric attachment point was loose or broken off, and they had serviced the radiant heating system with the wrong kind of fluid, which totally ruined the system, causing corrosion and crystalization throughout the system. Instead of the $70/gallon Alde fluid required by the manufacturer for that year camper model, they had used $20/gallon fluid prohibited by manufacturer service bulletin. They tried to fix the plumbing leaks over and over again. The RV was in their shop for most of the first 6 months I owned it. They never found the source of the leak, and lied over and over again that it was fixed. The heating system: they said that it was all in my head and that it should be working fine because it was practically a new RV. However, I heard the service manager cussing "why can't I find just one f***ing competent RV tech?!" to himself one day when I dropped the RV off for the 5th or 6th time with the same plumbing leak. Just don't buy a used vehicle from them, and best to learn to do service and repairs on your RV yourself, as thousands of RV owners will attest. Came to seriously look at camper vans. SIL has retired and sold her very successful business. Salesman was seated on a couch and didn't bother to ask us anything or even get up. SIL inquired about camping vans. He said 'there's one in the ac and several Outside.' We looked at the van inside and then had to ask if we just go outside and look or what? He waved his hand toward the door and told us to go ahead and go look, still not getting up at all. Even if they had what we're looking for, we wouldn't do business here. read more

I bought a truck camper there. I like the basic unit..Adventurer 80RB. Paid 26k in 2018. Right off the lot, the service boys gave me bad info.. the overhand ribbed to top of the cab. So they slid 2 2x6 under the camper. In 12 months the bottom failed because the total weight was no evenly distributed evenly. The front left top corner sprung a leak. I noticed some soft spots that were signs of rotten wood.. it turned out the camper leaked like a sieve. Nobody told me I was suppose to replace all the sealant on the whole camper every three years. So add rotted bathroom. Roof, half the bottom and corners. The corners rotted out so bad the Jack's used ro raise the thing just broke off when under weight. The refrigerator failed. I took if in for repair.they ordered a new circuit board which did not solve the problem so they put in a whole new unit without my authorization. It too 3 months and a 2k bill. Even so, when I brought it home. It caught on fire because they did not adequately tighten the gas fittings. Needless to say, I've learned to work on the camper mysèflf. I I I read more

If you expect good post-sale customer service, do not buy from D&H. One year ago I bought a $65,000 travel trailer from D&H. Over the course of this year I have had to work with their service department to get several warranty issues resolved, as well as a fiberglass collision repair. Unfortunately, my experiences with D&H service have been pretty terrible. The service department does not publish their phone number, only an email address, and my emails routinely go unanswered for a week or more. For my fiberglass collision repair, I scheduled many weeks in advance to leave the trailer with them to get this fixed as well as a laundry list of warranty items. They knew this is my primary residence, yet somehow at the end of the nine days they hadn't even started on the fiberglass repair because they were trying to get the right paint in. The RV was basically new. They did not have to get special paint because nothing had faded. And they could have communicated with me about this before the day I came to pick it up, but they failed to do this. I had to come back and leave it with them again for another week or more, and when I came to pick it up, they told me it was not finished. No communication with me at all about progress or status while it was being worked on. Really no respect for my time and displacement from my home. While my RV was with them the last time, they promised to send me a replacement shower head, because the one in there had a warrantable problem with it. It has been now at least two months and they have not sent it. They are also not responding to my emails. I'm not sure what to do and I'm very disappointed. If you want reliable service on your RV, I encourage you to look elsewhere. read more

Exceptional Customer Service and Repairs! This is our second time in this year for separate purposes Both times I would rate their services excellent . From the initial contact with Victoria on the phone, to the final service check by John we were very pleased with the outcomes. This past May we had to get 4 new Happijacks with motors and we were in a big bind! They put all our worries to rest! This time we had a propane issue with out Dometic Refrigerator. It would only work on electric. We had another service tech in Elkhart Indiana work on it months ago but that hadn't resolved the issue. I paid 75 thousand cash for a 10.2 Northern Lite Truck Camper LE, staff was very friendly and helpful, at first. When I seem to have a problem with condensation and needed some questions answered, I was put off. When I tried to write the owner my calls was intercepted each time. I would NOT recommend this dealership to anyone. The salesman didn't even come say one word to us and we was there two days. TWO DAYS NOW! Heartless people it seems once they got the money. Remember I bought a truck camper, and paid a lot of money for it CASH. Plus the camper was dirty and they wanted another 1600 to put some kind of finish on the camper. I took my Class B to D&H for service. I scheduled the repair online and quickly received confirmation of my appointment. Upon arrival the service tech quickly assessed the problem and made the repair. I had high hopes, but a terrible experience! I had a place near me install new brake assemblies on my fifth wheel. While the brakes worked when I brought it in but not after they were replaced despite taking it back. So, I decided to call the nearest Arctic Fox dealer to see what they could do. They assured me that they had an excellent service department and brakes experts. I also needed some adjustment to one of my slides and a piece of trim replaced on another. Though it as a 6 hour round trip, I towed my Fifth Wheel up with high hopes. When I dropped it off it took quite awhile, but one of the folks came and looked over the work. They called a few weeks later for me to pick it up as everything was completed. One I arrived, I ssked about the trim replacement. They said that the trim hadn't arrived yet and I could just come by later. They said that they looked over the slide and it seemed fine. Despite saying they had identified the problem with the brakes, they still didn't work. They told me that I needed to use them for a while to burnish the pads. By the time I got home after 3 hour drive and lots of braking, there was zero improvement. I then had to leave for a trip to New England and hoped additional use would help the brakes but there was no improvement. In addition, the first time I opened the slide, it tore a gouge out of my kitchen floor. I That never happened before. Once I arrived in Vermont, I sent an (very nice) email to D & H. The owner (I think) quickly emailed me back and said that he would look into this and would get back with me ASAP. After about 10 days, I emailed back again as I figured he had likely forgotten about my email. No answer. I have sent many additional emails but nobody has ever answered over many months. About 10 days ago I called Lippert (brake manufacturer) about my issue. They asked me for the details on what exactly D & H had tried to do to rectify the issue including the voltage and amps they read at the brakes. I called D & H several times and they forwarded me to the Service Department where I left several voicemails asking if they could call me back. It has now been over two weeks and nobody has ever called. In the end, I spent a lot of money and drove over 12 hours (2 trips) and have no brakes, a gouged floor and empty wallet. Poor service is one thing but the ghosting of a polite customer who paid his bill on the spot is really baffling! read more

We brought our RV to have the slide out repaired, which they did, but they also said we needed new batteries so they ended up replacing 3 batteries, 2 of which were relatively new and actually had more amp hours than the new ones. They were installed so that they could move around and didn't have straps to hold them in. They jury-rigged some styrofoam around the sides of the batteries to hold them "securely". When we questioned them about the types of batteries and the installation, they didn't respond. During the whole repair process, they were extremely hard to get a hold of or to get responses from. Would definitely not recommend. We spent a lot of money to have worse batteries that don't supply power for as long as our old ones. read more

These people at FANTASTIC !!!!!! I needed to replace the regulator on my propane tank. I called D&H and spoke with Erica. ( lovely lady ) and she told me to swing by and they would see if they could help. Eric the service supervisor had Josh take a quick look to see if the part was compatible . Luckily for us it was and Josh installed it in about 30 minutes. He also made sure that the air was bled from the lines so that the refrigerator would reignite. I will be a customer for life !!! We bought our Riverside Retro from D & H on Memorial Day, we were very happy with the whole purchase process with them. We had great follow up service by Evan to tweak a couple things and install bike rack the factory left off. June 29 we left for 5 week cross country vacation, and trailer was t-boned 2 miles from home (guy ran stop sign) at 11:40 am. Called D&H while police were filling out the report and got the owner Dave, explained situation. Dave had just got the same model trailer but year older in trade, and said he'd rent it to us! Patched up our trailer enough to get it to D&H, swapped all the gear, signed papers, and were on the road by 4:30! Huge shoutout to the whole crew at D&H keeping our trip alive, owner Dave is beyond awesome! D&H is a fabulous place to buy an RV, good prices and they don't try to up-sell you add-ons. Yesterday morning I called these guys and he was able to have me come right in to check out my solar system on my camper van. It was a very tedious and not so black-and-white situation and they were very helpful and patient with my questions and uncertainties and I highly recommend doing business with these guys. I still have to go back today and pick up my batteries and find the result of the test but I feel confident that they will do me right. They have a nice clean waiting room and bathroom. While conducting research for my family's first-ever RV rental, I discovered D&H RV Center in Apex, just west of Raleigh. We had already visited several other rental places, including the heavily marketed Cruise America, only to be discouraged by the well-worn rigs they had on offer. D&H is in an entirely different league. They rent new, well-appointed RVs. Ours was literally brand new, a 31 foot class-C with two pop-outs, four TVs, leather upholstery, and lots of other creature comforts. The staff at D&H was generous with their time and enthusiastic about sending us "newbies" off on a big, new adventure. D&H isn't the cheapest place to rent, but when you consider the quality of the vehicles and their highly personal service, there's little doubt, at least in my mind, that this is the best place in Raleigh to rent an RV.
