The morning of my train, the desk called me directly to confirm my arrival time, and that my car would be ready for me. When I arrived at the train station, I was met directly upon exit and whisked to my car. They gave me the number to reach anyone if issues and return was a simple key drop. The staff called me after the return to ensure my rental went well before they emailed me the invoice. The team here was great. read more

Look at my 300+ reviews. I'm not insane or a crank. But 90 minutes after leaving my car at the Albany-Rensalear train station I realized I left my new blue raincoat in the backseat of the car. I called and asked if they had found it, and they pretended to look. I also called Enterprise customer service but since it wasn't one of their main stations there was no form to fill out. First of all, the one star is being generous. Enterprise location in East Greenbush, NY refused to have someone to pick me up for a reservation scheduled by my insurance company. "Zach" is politely rude told me in no uncertain terms he would not send anyone to get me on any day of the week. I attempted to reach corporat, and was put through to another sleazy rep who basically said that Enterprise no longer offers the "we pick up service." I will be sure to contact my insurance company and the BBB as well. read more

We have had very few problems with Enterprise. My single complaint was they refused to bring us a car at our hotel on Revere MA, even though the hotel was near their Logan Airport location. Otherwise the transaction went smoothly, as usual and the car was fine. I've had many dealings with Enterprise in which their staff went out of their way to help. I rented a car for a weekend while visiting Troy and it was a pretty good experience. Arriving by train, the Enterprise booth is right in the station. The guy working was out helping another customer with a car but I didn't have to wait long. The car he had for me was in the main parking lot outside of the station so it was quick and easy. Returning the car was a little more work. There were no Enterprise spaces left so I had to park down the hill in the designated lot (there's a sign at the counter that explains it all which I had photographed due to my incredible level of uptightness) so I parked it down there. Then climbed up the hill (I was hungover so it felt like a long way) and walked to the station. But I forgot the paperwork. The lady was nice and said not to worry. I gave her the keys, she said she'd email me a receipt and I was back on a train to civilization. There were no extra charges or anything and no usual rental car scam techniques so I was pleased. read more

This enterprise location keeps getting worse and worse. there is one person working it so when he or she is not there it jsit sits empty with no help, the number they give you to call does not work or it just makes the phone ring in the booth...when no one is there. Literally saw a girl walk into the booth as I was waiting for someone to help me, look around and then leave again on her cell phone. They also seem to keep the cars SO FAR AWAY so it takes forever to get one. Would not recommend read more

This Enterprise location is a very small counter with limited hours and is the only option available inside the Albany train station. I would encourage you to try to get off your train quickly and get to the rental counter as I would imagine that the ebbs and flows of this location make staffing difficult. The Enterprise parking area is just outside the main doors to the train station. I arrived yesterday and had a poor experience - my train was late (not Enterprise's fault) and when I arrived to the counter there was a long line. When I got to the front of the line, they had no cars and I was misquoted how long it would be for more to arrive (I assume from the airport). When more arrived, I was provided a compact instead of the standard that I reserved. Since I was already very late for a business meeting, I did not complain at that time. However, the measure of a company is not always whether a customer service issue happens, but how they respond to it. I emailed the company this morning and shared my experience. Within 30 minutes, I received a call from the area manager for this location who offered no excuses (although there has been significant weather in Albany this week), but just apologized and tried his best to make it right. He promptly provided the consideration we discussed and then followed up with an e-mail. My four star rating says that means "Yay! I'm a fan." I would guess that sums it up - Enterprise may not always get everything right, but - when they don't - it has been my experience at this location and others that they sincerely try their best to make it right. Enterprise Rent-A-Car - Enterprise kiosk in the lobby of the Albany Train Station - Car Rental Near Me - Rensselaer, New York

Placed a reservation online on 10/4. I get a call about three hours later that their shipment of cars won't come in and they will not be able to honor my reservation. They apologized on the phone call and were polite, thus the two-stars instead of one. I rate them low because other Enterprise locations in the area still had cars. They could have ferried a car over from the airport and honored my reservation. This would have been a good customer service practice, because face it: if you allow a customer to make a reservation online, you should go ahead and do your damnest to keep that reservation. If you have cars in the area, get 'em over to the train station and help them out. Calling and canceling a reservation is the easy way out and not really centered toward a customer-centered solution. The train station needs more options for car rentals. It's unfortunate that Enterprise is the only game in town over there and unfair that its priced higher than nearby locations and the competition just because of its monopoly of the train station. read more

Yes, the 51 S. Pearl St. location "revved up" my apologies-upgrade to a Mustang for my first reservation with them (practically forcing me to drive the speed limit so as not to draw attention to all that magnificence that made everything from here to Ithaca look like a hoopty), but I've been using this location more often since then, so they get my review. It's just a one-person kiosk in the train station, but they operate like they have their own building with a small crew of staff. The young man who's always there when I pick-up has always been professional beyond his years, consistently demonstrating his knowledge and doing so within minutes of my arrival. I swear it takes me longer to pull out my ID and card than it does for him to prepare and print my paperwork. And I can't forget the time I left my phone in one of their cars. It had been turned in, and the young lady who was on duty when I went to retrieve it was just as on point as her colleague normally is, showing off her multi-tasking skill set by finding and handing me my phone before escorting the customer ahead of me out to the lot. I have a few more experiences with this place to share, but I'll stop here. I almost hate that yesterday was my last rental until after the snow melts. I love these guys! read more

I have rented from Enterprise for years in multiple locations. Prior to this experience I had always experienced professionalism, courtesy, and great service. However, this location is a horrific and negative outlier. I have used this location twice now, once a few years ago, when they made me wait 45 minutes to get my rental car which they did not even have on the property (they had to drive me to another Enterprise location to get it), and more recently as the return location after Christmas. I got insurance on the vehicle this time because it is winter and we were traveling upstate where there is snow and ice. When we returned the vehicle there was not ANY damage to the vehicle. There was no one at the kiosk so we put the keys in the key return. Three days later, on a Saturday, the weekend after Christmas and before NYE, I received a seemingly random email from Enterprise Damage Return Unit saying there was damage to my vehicle and asking me to fill out an "incident report form" which asked to describe any accident, witness, give my insurance, etc. I immediately called the location to inquire about what damage occurred to the vehicle because as I said, there was NO damage to the vehicle when we left it, and they could not provide me an answer. The woman on the phone said her manager would get back to me. He did not. I called again and was routed to a different location where somehow magically they were able to pull up something that described the alleged damage, but REFUSED to send me a copy of this form or any proof that there was actually damage to the vehicle that was caused by us. I requested photos and was told that was handled by the Damage Recovery Unit and that I needed to call them. I called the Damage Recovery Unit but they were closed since it was Saturday, convenient for them that they send emails on the weekend when no one is available to answer the phone. We called early the next week and were told two different stories by this Damage Recovery Unit. They told me to fill out the paperwork because if I didn't I would be personally liable for the cost of fixing the vehicle. Again, there was NO damage to this vehicle and they would NOT provide evidence to the contrary when requested. I had my husband call them, and he was told NOT to fill out the paperwork and to disregard any future correspondence from then, and that they would note on our account that we could disregard it, that we were not liable. We asked for written confirmation of this and they REFUSED to send it. They simply said that the call was being recorded. We followed up with a written request for this information and we were ignored. They then Fed-Ex shipped us another incident form on a Friday night, conveniently again, after their office closed and no one was available to respond to our inquiry. The fact that they refused to provide information to me or any sort of proof of damage despite multiple requests is HIGHLY suspicious. I will NEVER rent from this Enterprise nor any of its affiliated locations again. Would urge you to consider other options, even though unfortunately this is the only rental agency available at the Alban train station. read more

This WILL be a long review, but want to get all the details in there! Won't get into location & staffing of this Enterprise Location, because that's been said already, but IF no one is there, they do list a number to call, because they are shuttling cars &/or out cleaning them. Day I arrived (Sunday...They don't get there until 1100) Now for my personal experience with Enterprise & this location...FIRST will say, I've rented from Enterprise before in a couple different States & never a problem & that I did my homework BEFORE even booking my rental because I knew I'd be driving on Toll Roads & Bridges & being from the Pac NW, I wanted to be prepared. So I did my due diligence & made a call to the Rental Reservations number BEFORE flying out to NY, to inquire of what I had read on their website & to ask what options I had for Cashless Bridges/Tunnels in the NE: 1. Renting a Transponder. [Was told to contact the Local Enterprise where I'd be picking up the vehicle, since some aren't rented at every location] 2. Inquired about being Automatically enrolled in 'TollPass' since I'd be driving in the NE & because the disclaimer on the website reads: "Please note: TollPass products may not be available at all Enterprise locations. Please refer to your rental location's policies and/or offerings for toll products to determine availability of TollPass programs." [Was told that I wouldn't have anything to worry about since I was inquiring about trying to rent a Transponder, but now wouldn't have to since I'd be automatically enrolled in TollPass & when I go through Cashless/Transponder Bridges, my license plate will be photographed & would get the fees in the mail...So I thought...] Now...I arrive at the Train Station location & being I was about 30 minutes early, the young lady was approaching the booth (so sorry I forgot her name, but want to say Beth?) & said that she had to go downstairs to get some cars ready, but will be back up asap. No worries. I knew from reading previous reviews that the staffing here is limited. A little after 1100, another individual was in the booth, so I had approached him & started my rental process & during that I wanted to make sure about the tolls/bridge concerns & the answer I got wasn't what I received via the Rental Reservations #! He didn't know anything about Transponders. Strike 1. Then told me they don't have 'TollPass'. Strike 2. Then I asked about EZPass then & he said they don't offer cars with EZPass at the Train Station, but can get it at the Airport Location, so I said I'd just drive there then to get an EZPass, but he said you'd have to RENT the car FROM that location! Strike 3! (That Info would have been good to know ahead of time). What I should have asked was for them to drive me to the airport location then, but I was already getting a little frustrated. So I ask if I don't have this 'TollPass', can't get a Transponder, & don't have EZPass, will I be getting tickets on the Bridges that are Cashless need EZPass, &/or Transponders & he logs onto Google (think this information would have been written down behind the counter somewhere) & gives me the 800 number for Tolls & Violations & says when I get the bills in the mail, to call them & explain! Hmmm...So, my rental experience is off to a wonderful start! Now for the directions TO the Rental pick up...Tells us to 'go downstairs to Level 1 & the cars are on the right.' Aaaa...NO! First when we stepped into the parking garage, there are NO SIGNS that should, I don't know, Read/Point: Rental Cars this way...After walking Right to the end of the parking structure & seeing it end at a gravel road & not seeing any rentals, we turned around to go to Level 2 to look Left & Right & nothing there. Then go BACK to the booth to tell him we didn't see anything except the gravel road leading up a slight hill outside & he said "yes, go that way & a little ways you'll see the automated arm, & cars are there." Well, that gravel road we walked up, looked as though it was a parking lot for Airline Employees, but beyond THAT parking lot, we finally noticed the 'white automated arm' & the first young woman that helped us at first, there cleaning out the cars. Then, noticed some Enterprise signs to our FAR RIGHT on a fence pointing to the area we were walking to! The young woman helping us out was AWESOME!!! Can see with the limited staffing at this location - they are working the booth, cleaning the cars, & probably shuttling customers & cars around! Pay them more, get some better signage, & maybe an actual Enterprise Booth OUTSIDE too. She offered to upgrade my vehicle, but that wasn't necessary. Now that I'm back home, we'll see what kind of 'Violations/Tickets' I get in the mail, then I'll be making that call to the Tolls/Violations number. read more

I was very pleased with the service I received at this location. There were no cars available at the original location of my reservation so I was sent over to this one. Omar made sure to confirm the availability of my car in advance and also went above and beyond to provide me a car with bluetooth for my trouble. One side note is that the location can be tricky to find since it is in the train station and not much signage. Thank you for an overall great customer experience though! read more

Very nice office, when I got screwed over by Hertz (no actual office on site) Enterprise tried to hook me up and even were willing to bring over a car from the Albany office on the other side of the river. Stark contrast with the utterly crappy attitude of Hertz and their deceptive presentation. Enterprise is really the only way to go if you're coming into the Alb-Rens Amtrak station. They are the only ones on site. There is a tiny booth with generally helpful staff, though when it's busy there can be a bit of a wait because there's often only one person doing the check in and walking out to inspect cars. It's a small operation but, at least when I went, it worked well. read more

Jared at the Enterprise counter at the Albany, New York Amtrak station literally saved the day for my daughter and me. After a derailment postponed our departure from Penn Station, we were bussed to Grand Central where we boarded a local train to a stop near Yonkers where we boarded the Amtrak to Albany. Once we got to Albany we were told our connection to Syracuse wouldn't arrive for 2.5 hours. Jared had one vehicle left which he quickly rented to me at a great rate. They charged me for a two day rental when I only rented the car for one day and returned it on time, leaving the keys in the box at the desk. When I asked for a reimbursement, they said they would but they never did, even after I called them twice. I AM NEVER USING ENTERPRISE AGAIN. Horrible service. read more

My Amtrak train from Boston to Albany was delayed an hour by two freight trains given priority on the single track line. I called the Enterprise office at the Albany station to let them know I could not arrive by their closing time of 6 p.m. The manager on duty, Ryan, said no problem, I will stay on duty until you get here. When I arrived, I found he had brought a car over from the main office to the station, ready to go. The service was exemplary from start to finish. Enterprise will be my preferred choice from now on. read more

This location never fails to impress me with their knowledge, efficiency and friendly people behind the desk so conveniently located at the Amtrak station. I use them at least once a year when I travel from NYC via Amtrak or the MegaBus, which has a stop right in the train station parking lot. It could not be easier to start your trip out of Albany - heading to the Adirondacks, Berkshires or VT -- all within 60-90 minutes (max) away. And returning the car "after hours" is so easy. You park in the lot closest to the station entrance, walk in, drop the key in the box and get onto your train or MegaBus. IT'S SO FAST AND EASY. I'm a loyal Enterprise customer, in part because of this location. They're always GREAT. read more
