Mentioned they might have something later in the day. turns out Ridgecrest Budget/Avis saved my plans. They provided me with a car, and $30 cheaper then enterprise!!! They have all my contact information to talk to me directly, yet to fool future clients, they reply with an AI generated response trying to show they care. I am extremely disappointed with the service I received from Enterprise Rent-A-Car in Ridgecrest. I originally rented a vehicle from another location and later discovered it did not come with a spare tire. Since I was planning to drive long distance, I did not feel safe being on the road without one. For me, that's a basic safety expectation. I drove to the Ridgecrest location specifically to exchange the vehicle for one that had a spare tire. I calmly explained my concern, but instead of trying to help, the employee immediately dismissed me. She told me the vehicle "should come with an inflation kit" and said she "shouldn't be able to help" me. When I asked what someone is supposed to do if they blow a tire, she said to call roadside assistance -- and looked at me as if I was stupid for even asking. It wasn't just the refusal to help; it was the attitude. The dismissive tone, lack of empathy, and unprofessional behavior made the situation worse. I was not asking for anything unreasonable -- just a safe vehicle for long-distance travel. Customer safety concerns should never be brushed off. If this is how Enterprise handles legitimate safety requests, that's a serious problem. I expected far better from a company of this size and reputation. Very disappointing experience. read more

Reserved a premium location could not provide, then gave me a car with 3/4 tank trying to tell me it's 7/8. Car had bumper damage no big deal but when I went back in to ask if it was documented the lady said yes. Returned vehicle today and got asked if I had time stamped images of damage luckily I did. VERY UNHELPFUL AND UNFRIENDLY CUSTOMER SERVICE The front desk person wasn't helpful to the point of useless. Didn't bother to greet me. There was no other customer but she said she can't do walk in and that I have to book appt online. I asked her the website which she gave me. But once I went online and ask her where I need to go she was like "I don't know. That's not what we use." The website wasn't helpful because when I click on appt and tried to book it, it gave me the range of 8 am to 5 pm. The time was a few minutes before 5 pm and it won't let me book, the appt saying the time is too early. I tried to get her to help me but it was the same issue so she finally quit making me book appt and try to book me a car. I asked her the cost and she kept saying "I don't know, I can't tell until you book the car". That is full of BS since she could give me an estimate or tell me how it works like "since you are over 25 yrs old, if you choose a car, the rate will be from this to that. If you pick a van, the rate is higher and from x to y". She could have also told me if I have GEICO, I can get cheaper deal. But like I say, she was VERY UNHELPFUL and doesn't make me feel like she cared to help me at all. I said it to her face that I will just rent for two days and go find some other place to rent. She didn't tell me how the car works like how to pump gas. I had to go watch YouTube since it's different than other cars I used to. Not only that, the gas drained so quickly, I just drove a few miles in town to look for car to buy and it drained two gallons. She even asked me if I needed help when I was turning in the key and she was on her way to lunch great job for thinking of the customers. It also smell so good and fresh inside the building. The car I was supposed to get I was able to due to military having first dibs which isn't a problem. the car still worked out for me and my toddler crew lol. I don't even want to give this place one star. I made a reservation last night got a confirmation number. My pick up time was at noon. Do I called a little before 11 am saying I was going to be a little late. I was told it was fine. I live in the next town and I am a caregiver to a disabled Veteran and his well-being is the up most important. He has good days and bad days...and he doesn't move as fast on those bad days. And today was one of those days. So after getting conformation that enterprise was fine with us running late. So I walk in at 12: 20 pm they ask if I have a reservation. Yes...yes I do. She tells me because I book my car last minute. And they supposedly tried to call me. Which I have no miss calls. Tell me they are sold out. This is the second time something like this happens at this location. I just moved to the area. So I have been renting cars from enterprise I collect reward point and through our bank we get perks ie; military discounts. This is the only reason why I continue using this location. I have had no problems in other locations. These people who work at the ridgecrest location are not only rude, have no customers service experience/ skills and might need retraining. Plus as she tells me "too bad ,we're sold out" with no regard to the situation and the importance of the need for the rental. Otherwise why would I make a reservation. MAKE PLANS, THEY DO NOT CARE. AS THEY DISMISS ME AS IF I DONT MATTER..AND IT IS NO LONGER THEIR PROBLEM.!! I AM SO UPSET, AND THE COST AND PLANS RUINED BECAUSE WHY? THIS ISNT RIGHT!! I HOPE WHOEVER MAKES A RESERVATION LAST MINUTE.. which shouldn't matter...if there wasn't vehicles available it wouldn't let me make a reservation...RIGHT? Monday, October 30, 2023, I rented a Ford F150 from this location for insurance reasons.  I called earlier at about 8:30 am. to schedule a pick up from the garage.  I told them where I would be and what time to pick me up.  They said to call them back.  I called back, and their phone systems were down.  I had to walk to the office.  I rented the F150 with a $50.00 deposit, and it had some issues that I was not comfortable with.  They said they had a Dodge Ram, but it wasn't cleaned yet.  I said OK.  I will come back.  At approximately 4:30 p.m., I went back to Enterprise and exchanged the trucks.  When I exchanged the truck and received the Dodge Ram.  It had not been fully cleaned, but I took it anyway.  I had one long trip to a Dr appointment in L.A. on the 31st, and one trip to Johannesburg, Ca, to deliver some food, and then the truck sat in my driveway.  On 06 November, at 9 am, I received a phone call from Enterprise, and they informed me that I needed to return the truck that day.  At approximately 12 noon, I returned the truck fueled and cleaned.  I checked the back to verify that I did not leave anything under the seat by raising the seat.  Looked good.  I went inside, and the counter person took the keys and went and retrieved the miles and gas readings.  She came inside and asked one of the other counter people to go check something out.  She immediately went to the back of the truck and pointed out some damage that was there prior, and I had taken a picture of it.  When she came back in, she said I was smoking in the truck.  Excuse me?  She said yes, there is a smoking smell.  I do not smoke.  I have NEVER smoked in my life.  How could this be?  I was upset.  Sorry, I do not like to be accused of something I did not do.  I was upset, and I should not have been, but I was falsely accused of something.  I decided to leave and come back.  I walked home. I walked to the Enterprise office and then walked home.  By the time I returned, they had put a heavy fragrance in the truck.  And amazingly, ashes were on the front driver's floor.  Hmmm.  I am an avid non-smoker.  I have returned vehicles to rental agencies because of the smoke smell.  When I returned it, I did not smell smoke.  It smelled the same way as when I received it.  But, she was saying it smelled of smoke.  Not that it was dirty.  If she had said that it was dirty, I would have asked her to show me.  They told me there were ashes, like when someone held their hand out the window while smoking.  Wow.  I must have rented this truck for three years for that to happen.  Oh, 6 days, and I am a non-smoker.   Try the people who turned it in before I rented it.  After 53,000 miles, I am sure that some smokers rented that truck.  But, to accuse me of smoking in the truck was wrong.  The district manager called me, and he said that there were ashes all over the inside of the truck.  Wow.  From a non-smoker.  If that was the case, then Enterprise did not clean the truck as it should have been cleaned before I took the truck.  Nobody sat in the back seat.  I tried to get my lady friend in the passenger seat, but she was not able to get in since she is disabled. I even took a video of her trying to get in the truck.  That shows no ashes in the front of the back seat.  No ashes on the seats or the floor.  Wow.  I wonder if when I left, after being accused of smoking in the truck, they decided to put ashes on the floor of the cab.  I was upset and I am sorry for that.  I was told by your counter people that I would not be charged.  I did not believe them.  After I told that to the manager, he said they did not say that.  At that time, I knew my words were not being listened to, so I hung up the phone.    When I received my receipt, there was a $100 charge for cleaning and a $100 charge for a deposit.  Amazing, how I did not make a $100 deposit but a $50 deposit.   When renting from this place. Take pictures inside and out. Make a recording. This Enterprise is a scam. read more

We rented a particular vehicle, but when we got there to pick it up, we were told they did not have one for us. They said that we could have this other car that was classified as an upgrade. This would cost us more. We had no other option so we had to take it. Upon returning the vehicle, we were late. They were going to charge us for another day. Luckily, the manager, Kristin, was reasonable and did not charge us a late penalty due to the fact we had been unable to rent the car we actually wanted. This seemed fair and we agreed. Also, we were told that we could use a debit card, but when we arrived we were told no. Only major credit cards can be used. Apparently, the call center does not have the same policy as each individual location. So, bottom line: Don't make a reservation at Enterprise using the main number or website. You should call the actual location and speak to a human. read more

I have a scheduled pick up and I've been standing outside for 20 minutes. There's one person working and when I told her I was picking up she was so rude. I had to use them through my insurance but I definitely won't again. I ended up leaving with getting a car. The issue was not the wait time, she ignored two customers. Literally did not even acknowledge our presence. When I walked around to ask, she snapped at me. Took another customer before me when she clearly knew I had been waiting. Also was rude when I dropped off. 0/10 do not reccomend. Her name is Breanna. I called customer service and she told me they have quite a few complaints like this for our location. read more

I will NEVER try to rent from Enterprise again! No one told me the Sonoma office was closed when I made this reservation 4 days earlier. I sent an email requesting an 8:30AM pickup after listening to your phone waiting messages and redialing, over & over for 40 minutes, and never getting through. All that verbiage about being there for me! So I walked the mile, waited for 45 minutes, then talked to the Napa office to hear they couldn't help me until 2:30. A friend recommended Avis. They only had a bigger car (the RAV4) and it was $25 cheaper for the one day rental I needed, including drop off 500 miles away!! Wow about the bad experiences. I have been coming here for many years, mainly through work and never had issues. But those experiences were 5+ years ago. My recent experience was great. I got a one way rental over the weekend. I would have dropped it off Saturday - but they were closed & they have signs every where that essentially say "Don't leave your rental car if we aren't here", ok it says "enterprise is not responsible for any damage caused to the car on the lot until we check it in" All to say, I showed up to this location 20 minutes before they opened, one of the guys saw me, and processed my rental paperwork so I wouldn't have to wait until they opened. We've tried to book a car from this place twice, both times it's been cancelled and we find out at the desk the day we need the car. Both times they tell us they reached out to us to tell us it's cancelled, but both times we've got a confirmation email. I was treated so poorly attempting to rent a car that I left and called customer service. Then returned the following day hoping to have a better experience but was treated worse. We came in here the day before our vacation to ask if they had any mid-size cars available. The blonde lady beside the desk said that they didn't, but if we came back the next day she'd have a car for this. We actually left and then came back seeing if we could book a car in advance and leave credit card details with her, and the lady said that there was no need because they'd DEFINITELY have a car if we came back at 12 tomorrow. At about 20 past 12 the next day, we show back up (we're planning on leaving for San Diego that afternoon, and with my husband having taken time off work to drive us to the building). The lady says there are no cars, and that she doesn't know if there will be any, and it's not her responsibility because she can't control when people return their cars. Uh, then WHY DID YOU TELL US YESTERDAY YOU WOULD HAVE A CAR? Luckily, we went to Avis down the road and they had a car available, although all they had was a small SUV and we ended up paying about $20/day more than we would have for a smaller car. It could have been worse, we could have had to delay our trip by a day because this incompetent woman chose to lie to us. Oh, and before we left Enterprise Woman also told us that she'd call us later that afternoon when a car came in, and I left her my cell phone number. It's over a week later and I haven't heard from her, so I guess it's a good thing I went somewhere else, or I would have been stuck in Ridgecrest this whole time. read more

If I could give zero stars I would!!!. I called this center to reserve a minivan for my kids and I to take a trip down to los angeles and it was reserved I got an email stating this as well. Once I got to the center the story changed and said the van was already rented out and had no more vans on their lot. I had to search every other centers in town to be able to find a van thank god for AVIS they had a few vans available and they were clean. I just wanted to remind and warn people that if you rent a car using the weekend special you will be charged .20 cents a mile each day after 100 miles. Unfortunately I did not see this on my contract nor did the agents say anything at the time I picked up my rental. Had I known this I would have never rented from enterprise and gone with Avis or Budget whom has unlimited miles. How is charging mileage after 100 miles even considered a special? I live in a rural area where it is 100 miles round trip just to do major shopping. So please read the contract carefully and beware. I wish I could give them no stars. read more

Enterprise sailor and renter for years current staff makes me not wanna rent here. Manager stays up in Bishop allows over opinionated mouthy staff well run their mouths. COVID has allowed the lack of service to sky rocket. Will only rent here given no other options. The staff needs to learn customer service doesn't have opinions. This is the SECOND reservation I've made with Enterprise reservation center and been called back by the local office stating they really don't have a vehicle for me to rent. I confirmed to vehicle was available with the reservation center and they said YES. The local employee said the call center employees are trained to say nothing but yes. This ruins people's plans yet Enterprise corporate does not care. At least the local office is kind and on top of things. Kudos to them, none for corporate. read more

We had an appointment out of town so we rented a car from Enterprise for 8:30am and that morning around 7:30am I called for a pickup and the person who answered the phone said I should be picked up within the hour, so I waited. At 8:40am, we still haven't been picked up so I called again, this time she said I should be picked up within the next 10 minutes. So I waited again and at 9am, I was really upset and called again and when they answered the phone, they wanted to place me on hold first but I said no, it's urgent. My reservation was for 8:30am and they kept promising to pick me up and didn't. I told them if they couldn't pick me up, then we would drive there to get the car. Then they said they already sent someone to pick us up, but that person was also picking up another customer so we had to wait. Finally about 5-10 min after that, they picked us up. When we got there, there were lots of customers sitting around waiting, but my husband went to talk to the person behind the counter that he wanted the car, but the staff told my husband to wait because there were other people before him, so my husband was very upset. It was already almost an hour late from our reservation time and yet Enterprise still wanted us to wait? So my husband called her sister to come and give him a ride back because he just fed up and didn't want to wait anymore. Apparently Enterprise staff overheard the conversation so all of a sudden, the car was ready, but it was dirty. They did exchange the dirty car and supposedly "upgrade" us to another car. Overall, We are very disappointed with this experience and doubt we will use Enterprise again. read more
