A staff member appeared to assume that our group was entirely deaf and then spoke negatively about us in another room, seemingly believing we wouldn't hear. That alone was extremely unprofessional and uncomfortable. We were also told that someone would assist us shortly and asked to wait. After some time, the same staff member returned and asked if we had figured things out ourselves, which directly contradicted what we were told and made the situation more frustrating. Later, another staff member was sent to help us. While we were speaking with them, we could still hear the original staff member continuing to make negative remarks, including a comment suggesting that we would be made to wait regardless of whether we were able to get the car. Hearing that while actively trying to resolve the situation was incredibly disrespectful. Overall, the interaction felt dismissive, poorly handled, and lacking basic professionalism. Given that this location is near a large deaf community, a higher level of awareness and respect should be expected. Based on this experience, I will not be returning. read more

Someone backed up into my 2021 Mercedes Benz AMG. I called enterprise 5 mins before they closed and Ryan Champaigne answered. Basically closing down for the day he was still willing to help set me up to pick up a 2024 ford mustang. Something close to my AMG. I needed a rent a car after someone hit mine, my insurance company worked with Enterprise for a car rental. I wanted a small compact car and the next morning it was ready. Enterprise meat me at the collision shop and drive me to their place ( they really do pick you up) The driver was very nice during our short drive, about 2 miles. My rental was all ready when I arrived, a quick signature and inspection of the car and I was off. I had the renal car for just under a week with no issues. I left the Rental car at the collision shop, very convenient. They definitely made a difficult time a lot easier. read more

Horrible! horrible! Horrible! Seriously, I am talking like twilight zone levels of horrible here! Our insurance company arranged for us to have a car from Enterprise at 4111 W. Henrietta Rd. Rochester, NY 14623 after our car was totaled. When the 30 days of insurance coverage was up, Enterprise called us and asked if we still wanted the car, which we did because we are waiting for a new car to be delivered. We agreed to go private pay and they already had our credit card info, and they have since submitted charges on the credit card, which we have paid. For 2 months everything is fine, as far as we know. Then suddenly last week, they contact us multiple times, and when I call them, I'm told they dropped the ball and should have been in touch with us last month and they need to see the car to do some kind of inspection/service thing... Due to the nature of my job, the soonest I could take it to them was going to be this Saturday, and we agreed that I would do so. Nothing was said about this being some kind of life-ending, dire emergency... ...but, apparently, it was, because today, with no advance notice whatsoever, they came to my office and took the car away. When I asked one of the guys what I was supposed to do, he said I could go to their office and start a new contract with a new car but that the car that we had had was not going to be available for anyone and would not be on the road. WtF? WtActualFingF????? Clearly, there is something strange, about which we have not been told, going on with the vehicle. But, no matter what that might be, I honestly cannot even begin to come up with any kind of logical explanation for Enterprise's behavior in this situation. It is so lacking in professionalism and anything even vaguely resembling good customer care or even simple decency, honesty and consideration that it truly boggles the mind. Exceptional service, easy interactions, excellent comms. When my car ended up at the body shop after hitting a deer, I hadn't originally planned to get a rental. Things changed a week into the repairs and I suddenly found myself in need of some wheels. It was easy to select a car online. I thought I'd need Uber to get out for the pickup, but nope! Enterprise picked me up at my house!! I was in and out of the rental desk quickly. They had a few cars in the lot that matched my tier, so I got to pick a really nice one (haha! nicer than my car for sure)... I was loathe to return it at the end of the period (such a great ride). Enterprise made returning the car super easy. I just turned in my keys at the body shop when picking up my personal vehicle. Enterprise called back the next business day to let me know everything was squared away (super friendly, and gave me that feeling of completion... no extra fees or hidden charges waiting to pop up). Communications were helpful throughout. They let me know when someone was coming to pick me up, asked me about my rental experience and if I had any questions a few days into my rental, and kept my mind at ease that there was someone I could reach out to when I inevitably had some basic questions about the fancy features of the newer rental vehicle. I highly recommend. I look forward to my next rental with this Enterprise location. read more

Had to walk all the way back and then gave us a car that smelled like pot and cigarettes. It was so gross we had to drive with the windows down when we used it. We smelled after using it. Rented a car from them because someone totaled my car. My insurance company paid for it, but there was so much stress involved with Enterprise and GEICO communicating with each other, it wasn't funny....... Enterprise charged me, shouldn't have, I had to fight to get it back, there was a mixup with the end date for the rental, etc. etc. To top it off, the staff were not all friendly nor nice. I wrote the review below of ELCO, which is Enterprise's insurance company. We rented a vehicle from the West Henrietta location, and they ended up charging my credit card for 2 weeks of rental, after their insurance company only paid the first 4 weeks (due to an accident caused by another Enterprise driver). They were unwilling to negotiate the charges, even though I have been a lifelong customer...I've even bought 4 used cars from Enterprise Car Sales. The last 2 times that I emailed the manager, he didn't even bother to reply. I eventually received ALL the money I was out, but not before Enterprise lost a loyal customer. ELCO Review: Please be persistent and document everything. They tried to short us $1,150 from an accident involving another person driving an Enterprise rental. They sent us a check for the repairs which was $300 less than the repair cost. Then the next week, we were charged $850 for 2 weeks car rental!! (yes we rented from Enterprise even though another Enterprise driver hit our car) So I calmly told them we were taking them to court. They said "Go ahead". I started the process by sending a letter to the other driver informing him that I was filing in court with him and Enterprise as defendants. ELCO called me the next week and offered me $500. I said no, but would take $1,000. I did this because any judge would want to see that you tried to work it out. ELCO did not respond to my offer. 3 weeks later I sent Enterprise corporate a "Pre-Trial Demand Letter" (thanks, Google) They called me the next week and asked if my $1,000 offer was still good. I said Absolutely Not. I want the full $1,150. They said OK. I firmly believe they would have lost in court...so keep good records, and be polite. And keep in mind that it's their job to pay as little as possible, so they will not negotiate until court action is likely. Then they will fold because it will cost them more to go to court. I never did file for court. In retrospect, I probably could have gotten more money out of them...but I'm not greedy, and who really wants to go to court? read more

The team that set me up with the car on 2/25 was amazing! I'm an essential ICU nurse and my own car had broken down on the way to work so I needed a rental fast. I told them my predicament and how I needed to be on the road in 20 minutes and they did it all in 15 min! They were so accommodating and really helped me get back on the road ASAP so I could get to the hospital. When I returned the car I was a few minutes early before they were scheduled to open and they checked me out early. I'm so grateful for these people! read more

A fender bender put my car out of commission on Thanksgiving eve, which left me scrambling to find temporary personal transportation for the holiday. Nice that Enterprise still had a car available at 4 pm, but it would have been even better if they had been able to pick me up. (It's a service they typically offer.) I mostly forgive them for my long walk in the driving rain as it was late on their busiest day of the year, they had a car to offer me, and my shoes were water resistant. I walked into their place sopping wet and proceeded to drip all over their counter. No one commented on this. Everyone was very helpful, friendly, and completely professional with me. The car was decent - clean, everything worked, and I appreciated the CD player. A rental is a rental, but this (Kia Optima) was a good rental. A demerit: they didn't explore the insurance company angle (State Farm later had to remind Enterprise of a special arrangement between them). I dislike renting - the cost is high, and buying insurance on top of the rental rate really hurts - but Enterprise at least makes the process easy and quick. No hassle counts for a lot. They even dropped me off at my residence after I returned the car. That would have been a much longer walk.... read more

I tried to rent a minivan at this location because another Enterprise location called me at 4:45pm to tel me my 9am reservation was canceled. I booked a minivan online and then called to confirm that the vehicle would be available. I was assured a 7 passenger vehicle would be made available. At 8:11 I get a call that they cannot meet my 9 am reservation. As you can imagine I was upset but I was told I should be happy they called me before I actually went to pick up the vehicle. When I said that was not helpful the staff on the phone said freakin and when I asked him not to talk to me that way he said I was being an A-whole and hung up. read more

Good overall service. I only waited about 5 minutes to be served. The office smelled musty like Mildew when I walked in. And the car looked like it had been washed with dirty water. It had dried streaks all over. The agent offered me a bottled water and was very thorough about checking the car before I took it. Bottled water was a good gesture but not cold enough. read more

Hi, this is my first review on yelp and I do it because I feel extremely disappointed from Enterprise. I go to Rochester Institute of Technology as an international student. I booked a car using Expedia with weeks of priority. When I get to the location 248 Buell Road Rochester, NY 14623, the Branch Manager (Rent-A-Car Division) Sara Palmer told me that I couldn't rent a car because I had to bring "license translation book" even though my license was in spanish (same alphabet), so she said I couldn't rent car. Just the day before I had rented a car in Enterprise (I can provide it if any representative from Expedia contacts me), and I've rented cars in the whole united states in the last 3 years, including west coast, and never you would ask the customer to bring the "translation book", even when you go to a super market, they would have the "translation book", they won't ask the customer to bring it, that's ridiculous. So basically, an INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS OR TOURIST (J1, J2, F1, F2, HB1, HB2) CANNOT RENT A CAR IN ENTERPRISE. The person in the left in the picture that I posted treated me extremely unprofessional and disrespectful, the blonde one in the right was nice. Sara Palmer was not rude but could not show where in the rules of Expedia that I had to bring the "translation book" and still as the Branch Manger didn't rent the vehicle, it's like if she says no, then it's no and that's it. I ended up without a car, since the reservations in other rentals where extremely expensive to book it at the same time of picking up the car. If any person for enterprise contact me and more than welcome to provide more details about this case, I have the record of the conversation with Expedia when I called from the same branch to cancel the reservation. Remember INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS OR TOURIST DONT RELY ON ENTERPRISE TO RENT A CAR, THEY WON'T RENT IT AND YOU WILL END UP WITHOUT CAR IN A CITY THAT YOU PROBABLY DON'T EVEN KNOW. I had the best experience at this rental car location. While I had not rented from Enterprise for several years due to a past bad experience, this rental more than redeemed it. The staff were so helpful when I picked up and returned the car, showed me the features of the vehicle and got me an Uber when I returned, no wait when I picked up or returned. I received a brand new minivan (not the more typical higher mileage car). I used this off airport location and saved almost 50% from on airport. I definitely recommend this location and I will give Enterprise another try. read more

Do not ever rent a vehicle from the enterprise located at Dorschel in Henrietta! It may seem expedient when you have to drop off your personal vehicle to have minor collision work performed but the staff lacks integrity and customer service. I specifically asked the sales representative at Enterprise for a smoke-free vehicle. He swore that it was smoke-free as he said all of their cars are except when past customers violate the policy. I was given a black Toyota Corolla that had scratches all over the hood, the trunk, and the sides. After driving the car for only 5-10 minutes whatever scent they tried to cover up the smell of cigarettes with wore off and I found myself trapped in a car that reeked of cigarette smoke. It was obvious that the cigarette smoke was embedded into the cloth seats of the car. In addition, there were scratches all over the inside of the car like someone at sometime had tried to claw themselves out of it or allowed several animals to scratch it up. The sun visor on the driver's side didn't even match the passenger side sun visor; it was nothing but plastic. Nothing like the one on the passenger side. Not only was it obviously not the original sun visor but it too was full of scratches. Of course, when I drove back to a Enterprise at Dorschel, they were closed. I had to drive that car to a meeting and by the time I arrived I smelled like I had smoked a pack of cigarettes. I HATE CIGARETTES! I had to buy air freshener just to make it home without choking. When I arrived home later that night, I soon learned that the light that is supposed to come on when the car door opens doesn't work! After further inspection I saw that the back seat of the car was also scratched up and was filthy. What was Enterprise at Dorschel thinking even having a piece of crap car like that for rent? Right now as I write this review my husband put a jar of ammonia in the car overnight to try to absorb some of the cigarette smell out of the car so at least it is bearable when I return this piece of crap car to Enterprise at Dorschel and file a formal complaint with the management and report the salesperson for lying. What a lack of integrity! If Enterprise at Dorschel does not make this right, there will be more negative posts written on every social media outlet on the internet! Please note that I rated this rental establishment with one star ONLY because a review cannot be posted until you select at least one star. There needs to be an alternate choice when a business does not deserve even one star!!! read more

I was given a damaged car, fully documented in the rental agreement, with a profuse apology that they only had that car to give me. When I returned it in the same condition, i was then told I had done the damage and asked how I planned to pay for it? Showing the staff the rental agreement, all the damages listed, was totally ignored. How was *I* going to pay? I disputed the claim, naturally, but it should not have happened. Making reservations, offers for pickup and drop-off, vehicle condition, etc. has been good. The company personnel is where they SHINE!! The West Henrietta Road branch workers are always professional, friendly and accommodating. From the time I walk in until I drive out I am treated with courtesy, efficiency and always with a smile...these folks are the BEST...Keep up the good work! read more

I was staying at a local hotel who luckily had a shuttle service because Enterprise could not pick me up to get the car. When I arrived at the Enterprise location, the staff could not have been friendlier. We did a detailed inspection of the vehicle using a light from the agent's Smart Phone due to the time of day and darkness. The ONLY complaint I have is the car smelled like stale smoke. I only needed it for one day to move my daughter out of her Park Point apartment and into my hotel room so that we could fly home. When I returned the vehicle the next day, the shuttle driver was very personable and was available to drive me back to my hotel. Overall, the personnel was top notched. I had my worst rental experience here 2 weeks ago. I made a reservation for a compact car and they only offered me fiat which is a 2 door car. I told them the only thing I was asking a 4 door car, and they did not offer me any other car in that class. Instead they charged me extra for an upper class car and offered me a mazda 3. That car had so many problems. Even in the rain, it looses the traction. And with snow it was impossible to keep it on the way. It did not have winter tires and here in Rochester it is a must have. I don't know how they manage to find a car without ''cruise control' in 2013 . My car is 15 years old and it even has cruise control. It was a terrible experience with them. I rented cars from different Enterprise branches before and they were all good, but this one was terrible. I will never go to this branch again. read more
