Due to my recent experiences and review of the Rome Shorter Ave. Enterprise employees, and at only that specific location (nearly all of them), with the exception of one very nice lady, and for her, along with the following, I will give all the available stars. (I did communicate with them all in person, and on the phone through the duration of my one week rental, plus an additional four day rental, a week later) In my opinion, they all shared an overwhelming and obvious to me, belief that the customers of Rome, Georgia, could be treated disrespectfully because, as it was spoken to me and I stated in my previous review "have no other real option for car rental service for many miles away". Unfortunately, the bad treatment continued during the process of my second rental and it was relayed to me by two different employees, their dissatisfaction with my review of their store and how it reflected on them. My message to those two individuals is, if you do not want a bad review, then please treat your customers with the utmost respect. When picking up a rental car, most people can be in a hurry and can feel desperate to get out the door and onto their vacation or whatever their destination is, and for that could be easily taken advantage of. Also, due to the 'outsourcing of customer service complaints through the website chat,' not much was able to be accomplished by myself and others, that I was able to observe for many of the reviewers 'legitimate complaints'. And folks I'm just saying, please be honest (with yourself and other customers reading your reviews), and much less on the petty nitpicking, when making a complaint. However, and soon to be onto the good stuff and most important part of my second (as it was previously in fact, referred to " I read the novel you wrote") invitation to review. I did in fact, make it through to the district/regional manager who, (I was told by an employee sort of flippantly, during the checkout of my second rental), "he has only been the district manager here for a few weeks, but he seems to be pretty good". My guess is he was relocated specifically to fix the Shorter Ave problems, and do feel it important to note. Also, could take a few lessons from the Cartersville store and encourage you to check out my review there as well. I like to think of myself an average chick, and I believe everyone should be treated equally. *****As I was saying... onto the good stuff! 'Mr. K' the regional/district manager quickly contacted me after he received my complaint on the rental, to show deep concern for my experiences. He went over and beyond any expectations to keep me as a very happy customer. As I have said to you personally, you are a wonderful manager and I am very grateful for you!! Thank you again, Mr. K!! You have changed my opinion from the previous, and I have full confidence that the Rome Shorter Ave. location will be brought up to the Enterprise standard and is in the process of receiving a much needed overhaul of their customer service training. I look forward to this, as I have been an Enterprise customer for over 20 years and have never felt the need to complain of any other Enterprise location. I greatly value our communication, and value the convenience of this local business! I have full confidence and extreme appreciation for 'Mr. K' in taking my complaint and doing everything he possibly could to make me a happy customer again! I am grateful for the district/regional management of this Enterprise and I look forward to my next visit to the Shorter Ave. store again! I rented a car from enterprise in Rome ga. I bought the extra insurance and was broke down 18 of the 24 hrs. The car was rigged and zip tied at the bottom. The person who was supposed to your Tow the car called and cussed me out saying I need to call AAA. I was Nevery compensated in any way for my trouble. The manager there is rude and i definitely would never recommend enterprise. read more

we rented a minivan for 5 days out of Rome Georgia and paid extra for insurance and roadside assistance - tire blew out on our way back from Floridan hour and a half into our 10 hour drive home on the interstate around 10:30 on a Saturday morning. when we called roadside assistance the woman was extremely rude and told us that there were no other vehicles that would fit all of us and our luggage at any nearby enterprise, that they all close at 12 or 1 pm, and that we should call the police. ?? like what are we supposed to do?? tell the police to bring a few police vehicles to fit all of us and our luggage?? Enterprise left us completely stranded on the interstate for HOURS. we finally had to pay a tow truck to take us to a local tire shop to replace the tire ourselves. nearly $500 dollars I spent out of pocket because they couldn't help us even though we paid for it!! Saw the previous reviews and was somewhat concerned picking up at this location for the first time. I can tell you that there must be new management or something because it was a GREAT experience. From Parker, the very courteous shuttle driver, to Mark (I believe that was his name) at front desk, to Tatiana who checked out the vehicle to me. I've had problems at my local Enterprise with cars not being available as promised and poor customer service, so I can say that this was smoothest pickup for me this far. read more

As w/ all of this ultraprofessional staff, Jess provided exceptional service. My rental was a Kia Forte, for which Jess was very especially careful to confirm that I had no concern with the odor, and of course I did not because it was either at or above the norm of freshness for a rental car. In addition, the imperfections outside the car upon return were seen as being the same as they were upon my receipt of the car. This is not always the case with a rental car agency, because some endeavor to eke out damages from unsuspecting customers when in fact there were none. Never so with Enterprise. Performance of the car was outstanding, including the ability of the front spoiler to clear a higher-than-observed parking space concrete deadman at the front of the car upon arrival at the hotel in Madison, Georgia. My travels, as do so many, have taken me much further than I would have anticipated at career outset. And I have consumed thousands of miles and gasoline gallons in Enterprise Rentals. I cannot recall a single instance across some 40 years of relationship with this company where I did not receive imminent or instant satisfaction from the very few issues I have ever encountered. Pro: rented a car and they picked me up Con: floor had a hole in the driver side and the fabs didn't work. Also tried to get in contact with someone to let them know the car was acting funny while driving and acted like it wanted to stall, yet Noone answered the phone. Have called 2-3 times now and keep getting put on hold but Noone comes to the phone. So frustrating as I have to go to work tomorrow and need a reliable car. read more

Pro: was able to reserve and rent a car Con: First car smelled really intense of cigarette smoke. (Never drove off the lot.) Second car smelled better ...but after a few hours w/ added humidity ... it too smelled like cigarette smoke. Found out it was tagged as having cigarette odor. (Returned) Third car smelled so intense with some kind of air freshener that my asthma flared (makes my throat feel like it's closing up) and eyes burned (I have not had an asthma flare in two years). Asked for an upgrade, they were unable to accommodate us. We asked for them to call us if a better option came available and was met with no response. Very frustrating. If we did not need a vehicle to drive to the airport we would have returned the car and borrowed a vehicle from family. read more

Car smelled like cigarettes and wasn't cleaned thoroughly on the inside. I had to coean the car myself because it smelled so bad and out a little tree in. Staff at this location were very nice though. I've had to be here twice and the staff were quick and easy both times. read more

This business called to confirm my reservation for a pick-up truck the evening before and when I got there in the morning they had an expedition waiting on me. Meaning they knew they wouldn't have a truck and thought an expedition would placate me. read more

February 2018 - Really bad experience and car. Car was dirty and only 3/4 of a tank of gas. Side mirror adjustment feature did not work, both back door gaskets were falling off and flapped in the wind, no spare time, and some issue filling car with gas (it kept clicking off and had to stand there and hold nozzle). They also charged me for toll I had already paid. Additionally, I left good sunglasses in car when I turned it in. This was at closing time and I called them early the next day (before I was even due to return the car) and they told me they weren't there. I called the office 3 times (very long hold times) about all of these problems and talked to them about the issues when I was there. No one ever called me back. I have traveled a lot for business and this is by far my worst car experience rental ever. I need to rent a car now and will drive 30 miles out of my way to avoid this extremely bad company. read more

I was in a accident Saturday I was called on Monday by enterprise and told I would have a car Tuesday morning they asked what time I would come in I say 8:30-9 I came later about 10 mind you in with out a car the reason I'm here in the 1st place a guy stopped me before I got in and said they didn't have a car for me ok so you couldn't call the same way you called me before I could even get off the phone with the insurance company yesterday. I have been renting from this Enterprise location for YEARS... I travel a lot for my job and frequent this establishment monthly. I have NEVER had anything put pristine service from ALL the employees. They know me by name when I walk in the door and often meet me in the parking lot with my keys for my rental car. They will pick me up or take me home whenever I need them to and do it with grace and a smile! I would give them 10 stars if I could. read more

I went to Enterprise at the suggestion of my insurance company to rent a car after an accident. I felt that the staff was abrupt and incomplete in their explanations, trying to pusr extra things I didn't need to raise the rental rate. When I took the car back several days later, I was also rushed through this process and because of the severe weather outside, the delay and confusion in the service, and the rush to be on time for my next appt., I even failed to get a receipt for my insurance company! I was not advised that there would be posted immediately a charge to my credit card for the deposit and I was not pleased with the customer service one bit. Go elsewhere! read more

I rented a vehicle last week for a one way trip. I somehow reserved it for 12:00. I actually needed it earlier. They called me that morning and asked if I still needed the vehicle. At that time I requested it earlier. They asked me to come at 10:00am. When I arrived, I was in and out in less than 10 minutes. I was thrown by the price for a one way trip. I had to make a trip out of town. We are a 1 car family so I reserved a rental on-line. Within minutes I received a phone call to confirm the reservation (so they clearly had my contact information). The day of my reservation, I arrived at Enterprise at about noon to find the location closed with a note on the door. Apparently they closed early the day before because of snow. The note promised to open "as early as possible" the next day (the day of my reservation). So despite it being noon, the temperature well above freezing, and the main roads clear, there was no one there other than several other "out-of-luck" customers. I received no phone call warning me of the closure nor one since apologizing for the situation. I was forced to leave my wife without a car while I made the trip. This is an example of remarkably poor concern for the customer. read more

Great service. They are great attending to your needs. I had an issue but they were great in helping make it right. I also just wanted to give a shout out to the manager and also the guy who takes care of the cars you all were great and I know the tire issue wasn't anyones fault. Things just happen. I am a regular customer of Enterprise throughout my travels and the Rome location. Overall, I think they do a good job. This last rental the exterior was spotless and still wet from a wash. The inside was a mess: goo on the front passenger seat and smelly. When my wife got the SUV home, we sprayed it with Fabreze. To the locations credit, they discounted the rental cost to make up for the poor experience. read more

Rented a full-size Altima for vacation. Was the V6 3.5L model. Got 31 mpg average from GA to FL. Car was newer with less than 15k mileage. Service was great! Fast transaction times and good car selection! read more

I needed a car for a couple of days while mine was in the shop so I turned to Enterprise since they are the only game in town. My son dropped me off and my rental car was ready and all of the paper was completed since I rented online. A quick inspection of the car and I was on my way. The car had 34,000 miles on it but looked new and drove well. Returning the car was effortless and I was given a ride home by an enterprise employee who was very friendly and cheerful. I have no complaints and will certainly use Enterprise in Rome, GA again in the future. I might add that my wife has used Enterprise here in Rome on several occasions over the past couple of years and has no complaints. read more

I recently moved to Georgia and left my car in California, I've been renting with joey and his awesome staff for a few months and this has been hands down the absolutely best rental experience I've ever had , and I rent all over the country! We reserved (and was promised) a luxury car while my premium level Cadillac CTS-4 was in the body shop, instead we got a base level Impala. The car was filthy and inside the car had a terrible, sickening odor. We were told that a luxury car would be in later in the day, but when we came back, we were offered a Toyota Corolla, which we didn't take. The next day an employee tried to make things right and brought us a Ford Taurus Limited, which was much better. It was new so it smelled better and was cleaner but not spotless. Rated one star because zero wasn't an option. read more
