Although I have yet to get my car as it's other people's turn, I have to write this review to praise Brianna. She is attentive to every one that comes in, very efficient at folks checking in their cars as well as folks renting, and conscious of people's time and family needs. She's so pleasant to everyone. The day after Christmas is everyone's time to recover from the holidays and Brianna's positive, bright attitude makes the start of my day and the start of the new equally positive and bright. I just worked with the Enterprise in San Mateo for the first time. I am not sure I even knew it was over by BevMo off Hillsdale before. I needed a car quickly due to a lengthy car repair on my own car. After making the reservation online, I picked the car up from Ryan and then Emily took care of me when I dropped it off. They have cars...but service is poor and so is the condition of the location. Vehicles are filthy since they operate out of a dirt lot. One associate was explaining to a customer that they have a problem with rats nesting in their cars. Took 30 min to get my reserved car since multiple customers in front of me requested additional cleaning or exchange of vehicles they were picking up. My rear window was vandalized and due to a glass shortage, the repairs are delayed for a few weeks. My insurance got me a rental car through Enterprise at the San Mateo location. Jarrett helped me upon arrival and made the whole process so easy. Unfortunately, they did not have a car that fit my insurance budget so I was given what was available. McKenna reached out to me the following day via text. I responded by requesting to let me know when they have more cars available that falls under my insurance budget. She offered to lower the cost of my current rental car so I won't have to pay any additional out of pocket expenses. Excellent customer service is so rare these days. The staff at Enterprise San Mateo just made everything so much easier and I appreciate that they actually put my needs as a priority. Keep up the excellent customer service. read more

This location is shady - they charged extra days and then sent a claim for damage a month after the rental. In the claim, they included photos of the car in a location that looked different from the Hillsdale Enterprise lot, and with a tiny dent on the fender, that they wanted $477 for repairs. Nobody in my party of four remembers any dent or scrape. We think this claim is fraudulent. They also charged us two extra days, extending the rental to Monday, when the car was returned on Saturday. We will never use the night/weekend key drop again or visit this location. Stay away, this branch of Enterprise is sketchy. They wouldn't return my phone calls when I asked for more info. read more

The staff at the Hillsdale, San Mateo Enterprise is amazing. Mira remembered me from another branch close to a year ago and is very welcoming with her smile as I walk in each time. We had problems causing an extended rental. Diana and Ryan were particularly helpful, especially when we had to switch cars twice. We met Jarret on check out who did jump right up to help us when he knew others were busy. I wish I knew the rest of the staff's names. There were well staffed and all seemed to be enjoying their work rather than being grumbly. I know people have off days when they come to get a rental and are in a rush. Enterprise San Mateo --the BEST rental care experience I've ever had! My first interaction with this branch was over the phone. I spoke with a kind young man named Zach who helped explain the process to me of what would be happening and was super quick and friendly! He was so nice explaining the process of what would be happening when I come in to pick up my vehicle and really mad me feel reassured. When I arrived I was greeted by two super friendly employees! One was the lady in charge McKenna and I think the other young man's name was jakari? They were so kind and helpful! Jakari helped me pick out a car and this branch had such a nicer selection than others I had been to, plus my favorite thing -- all their cars were SUPER clean!! I typically dread using rental cars because I don't like using a vehicle other strangers use but jakari started wiping down the vehicle I picked without me ever asking and making sure I felt comfortable in it! 10/10 BEST rental car experience I've had! All three staff members who helped me that day are gold star employees! I came by unannounced to bring attention to no washer fluid to window wipers of my rental and The staff were very nice to fillup washer fluid without hesitation but found the wiper was just not functioning. Agent Yogi was quick to kindly respond to inquire my visit. He readily swapped my rental to a comparable vehicle that was from San Bruno for one at his site. Mr. Yogi did not hesitate to address my concern. He checked my wipers and safety of new vehicle and was very informative about the contract such as how to avoid extra fees when crossing tolls. He and everyone were very professional and welcoming. I appreciate the care and efficiency provided and their warm attitude reflects on why Enterprise is a great company to work with. Chose Enterprise through our insurance for its proximity to the dealer. Rented a Chevy Malibu with a strong smoke smell due to the type of vehicle, not the location's fault. Advising against Malibu if you're a non-smoker. Despite no replacement cars nearby, Enterprise provided transportation and the staff were super professional, going above and beyond. The San Mateo operations didn't deserve a 5 star, it is Mark, a helper from their RWC office that is earning it. I came yesterday and he was alone running the entire show. There were lines of people waiting for rentals and to be processed for car returning. He took on one by one and managed to take care of everyone. When I bought it back this morning, the office has two other staffers and he came up and said to process my return because he remember our meeting from yesterday. When I mentioned I need to call a Lyft for a ride home. He asked their drivers to take me back. He later explained other than SFO, Enterprise offers pick up and drive back service. It is something I never aware. Kudos to Mark, he's my HERO today!! read more

I really liked their service and selection in San Mateo. I needed a standard and reliable vehicle that is convenient, roomy and easy to steer and that was exactly what I got. The gentleman who helped me - I forgot his name (sorry) was super nice. They also have a small lot for me to park my car (maintenance was due so I could not use it) own overnight while I took out the rental which was a big seller for me! I was able to drop off the keys in their night drop box so I could sleep in the next day and not have to turn in the car when it was due early morning. I will definitely use them again. The worst experience I have had in renting a car from San francisco, california, through Newark Airport in NJ, to White Plains NY. When I had an issue the only way I could get help on the phone was by saying I was going to rent a car. When I said I wanted to change a reservation they left me hanging without picking up. This is the worst Enterprise location in California. I was in a car accident and then needed a rental car. I called ahead and spoke to Danielle and asked what cars were available. She listed some cars, and then I asked her to put the Tesla aside and said I would be there in an hour. Fast forward one hour, I arrive, and the Tesla is rented out!! I asked the gentleman I was working with if I could speak to Danielle about what happened, and he said she was busy. I saw her hiding behind her desk. I called them out on what happened, and they couldn't explain it and wouldn't admit it was their fault. They said there was a system glitch. This Enterprise is very unreliable. I've been to three Enterprises this past week, and both deserve 10 stars!!! This Enterprise deserves 0 stars and needs to be closed.... I have to leave one star because 0 stars is not an option... After I walk out, Danielle came out of her desk.... shocked and appalled at the poor customer service. We all make mistakes, we're all human. Let me tell you something. This is a small location with superior service. If you want to rent and save on taxes and fees that you could incur from the airport location set a reservation at this facility. The service is the highlight of the show. And they have a mastermind that appears to run a good shop. Justin, I believe is the managers name helped me with my check out and check in. On check in I had a reservation on line that I modified the night before. Naturally when I got there the vehicle that I thought I was getting was just rented out to a previous customer. Justin, playing the background overhearing the issue with the vehicle I wanted to rent made a phone call to the nearest enterprise location and had a car delivered to his location within the hour. I was like this guy is good... he observed the situation with my sales rep and made it happen. He was very methodic. In check in Justin was the only person in the office. It was raining and everyone who was returning a car that day showed up at the same time. Some were in a rush and some were not. Justin remained professional, non pressured, cracked a few jokes and organized. I was really impressed. He reminded me of family- the man was gangster! So with that being said, anytime I roll through San Mateo via SFO- I'm renting from here. Oh- and after the vehicle was checked in the provided me a ride home. On the ride I was paired with another employee that gave this manager big props, highlighting the fact that his style of management is too shelf. I told here as we approached my destination that I was putting this guy in my yelp review. Horrible experience for me, I helped rent a car then took myself off as driver and my card off file - so the person who was actually renting the car could take care of their responsibility.. two weeks go by and I have this company charging my card after I spoke to the 'manager' 4 times about it being taken care of and the ticket being closed. This place has been a little sketchy. My husband rented from here once, and forgot a gadget in the car when he took it back. When he returned 20 minutes later to retrieve it, the car was still there and had been cleaned, but none of the staff had seen anything, and yet when my husband searched the car looking for it, it was gone. Hmm... I rented a car this past Friday, and the guy helping me did the walk-around (where they look for previous damage, scratches, etc. and not them all on the contract ahead of time) before I was even outside to watch (as is customary), saying that there was no damage--when in fact there is some previous damage to the wheel wells which I discovered when I got the car home to pack. Hmm... They also agreed that I could rent the car for 2 nights and return the car Sunday, and when I got back today (Sunday), the office was closed--and in fact isn't open on Sundays at all. Hmm... If they don't give me any trouble tomorrow--when, by the way, we'll be making an EXTRA trip in to deal with this--and only charge me for 2 days , I'll come back and give them another star. read more

If I could give negative stars, I would. My insurance set up a rental for me as my car would be in the shop for a few days. Kasey was very quick and professional when calling me to set everything up, but that was the end of it. This morning I called on my way to drop off my car and Kasey said, "No problem, I'll have someone there in ten minutes." I wound up sitting at the shop for 40 minutes. The person that picked me up was new to the area and I actually had to help him with directions to another shop where he was picking someone else up. They had canceled in the mean time, so it was a wasted trip. A call to let him know would have saved 10 minutes. After all this, I was taken to the Redwood office, not San Mateo where I was scheduled. They did not have any cars; people were waiting for cars to be dropped off and cleaned before they could be assigned. This was another 20 minutes before I was assigned a car. I wound up being an hour and 15 minutes late to work. All of this could have been avoided if Kasey had just told me his shop did not pick people up that far away. My boyfriend had gone with me, to get an estimate on his car. He could have dropped me off at the office on his way to work and I could have picked up the rental at lunch, as the office I was scheduled at is a mere 1/2 mile from my office. read more
