Enterprise Rent-A-Car - 14005 Aurora Ave N, Shoreline, WA Awful experience. We returned the truck on time, dropped the key in the after-hours box, yet Enterprise claimed they couldn't find it and overcharged us for an extra day. Later, the key was discovered under the drawer--a known issue their own sign warns about. Their mistake, but we paid the price. Worse, when the truck's window was broken on the job in Moses Lake (with extra insurance purchased), Enterprise refused to provide another truck. They offered a tiny car (useless for a contractor) or told us to drive to another city to get a replacement ( 2 hours away by car ) . My contractor wasted 4-5 hours stuck at the Moses Lake office, lost a workday, and now we have to extend a $1,200/week Genie lift rental just to finish the job. I went to pick pick up a car booked by my insurance, I spoke to someone in the office a few days earlier to make sure they have economy car for me. I spent almost an hour there, got coached by both how exactly to talk to them ("tone down your voice and show me more respect"), told them what I think about their business and took a bus instead of getting car from them :) 1. 1st thing Martin told me not to talk over him and tone down. I apologized though I'm sure sure what for. Next, Martin pushed me to rent a larger car and I again said that I need a small one. He said: "We have many cars, choose the one you like and let me know". I chose a white Corolla - "No, it is dirty, it needs cleaning". I chose a blue Nissan - "It is dirty too, needs cleaning". He said it takes 10-15 min to clean, I said I'll wait. 2. 15 min later I approached Tom who asked me if I want to rent an SUV, and when I freaked out and said that I want a white Corolla I've been waiting for and I am in a hurry, Tom said that I had to tone down my voice and show more respect for him. He offered no apologies or any regret for having a customer to sit in their office for 40+ minutes. 3. As Tom was working on the exact tone of my voice and the type of apology he needed to hear and to get a respect for their business, I said "Your business is bad!" and went to a bus stop. (I used a different word to describe their business but my review may be hidden with the exact word, lol.) These guys saved me!!!! I needed a last minute rental car for my trip and they got me into one very quickly. There were no hidden fees and everything was explained to me very well. Unfortunately during my time of renting the car, the passenger rear window got broken into and was completely shattered. I called and told Enterprise what happened and they were EXTREMELY understanding. They expressed to me that all they cared about was my safety and that none of my things had gotten stolen. Since I had paid for the insurance, they explained to me that they will fix it and that I did not have to worry about it. This is such a great place to rent a car. This Shoreline enterprise car rental has literally almost double the price of the enterprise car rental through the Lynnwood branch. The service clerk are not keen on answering many questions. I phone them on separate occasions 3-4x times. They're quick to transfer you to the general nationwide enterprise phone line which I can't hear because the call quality is so bad. I would then phone the Lynnwood branch and everytime there I was able to get someone knowledgeable and friendly regarding car size, type, insurance questions. If you're in a tight pickle Shoreline branch is a good choice. read more

I am a regular Enterprise customer and have rented with them at various locations in various States. Of all the Enterprise locations I've visited, this was my worst experience. I am extremely disappointed with the experience I had with the Northgate/North Seattle branch. First, when I arrived to pick up my rental car, there was no one in the facility. I don't know if all the employees were outside or what, but I had to wait several minutes before someone came in, and even after someone came in, I was not acknowledged and continued to wait for assistance. I had a reservation and all my information handy, but it took close to an hour to just get my rental. The gentleman who helped me was friendly enough, but he seemed frazzled and distracted and was obviously trying to help too many patrons at once instead of focusing on one customer at a time. My return experience wasn't much better. I did an after hours drop off but never heard back from Enterprise on whether or not the sale had been closed. I have done after hours drop offs at other Enterprise locations, and they always call me the next business day (AM) to confirm that everything was in order with the return. I had to call this branch myself several times and talked with multiple employees about getting a receipt emailed to me. The fact that they didn't call and/or send me a receipt in the first place was extremely frustrating. Then, when I did get the receipt, I realized that they charged the wrong credit card, even though I presented a different card upon pick up. Overall, I am quite dissatisfied with this branch and will not be renting from them again. Even though this branch is closest to my home, it would have been worth my time/money to drive out to Bellevue and rent from that branch, where I am guaranteed consistent and excellent customer service. read more

While friendly enough I was really surprised to be offered a car that had not been cleaned. They said it was mostly clean which I assumed for a rental would actually still be clean. It really wasn't that clean. I was in a hurry and had to go so I said it was fine. I really don't think they should ever offer a car that had not been thoroughly cleaned. It would have been better to say please wait and not give me the option of a less than clean car. They gave me the option and since I was in a hurry I went with it. They should avoid ever asking that. Next time I'll know to say ok thanks and plan some additional wait time. read more

I'll start off by saying I'm a pretty tough reviewer. These guys did their jobs though. After an accident, the other party's insurance paid for most of my rental from here. They selected a Chrysler 200 for me. While nice, I saw a Charger that I really wanted instead. I was informed that it would cost $5 a day which was no biggie. Only complaint was that it was a little dirty inside and out, and the tire sensor (low pressure warning) came up twice, and didn't go away after refilling the air twice. That said, it was still a sweet ride. Definitely a head turner. I called during the final day that insurance was paying for, and requested 3 more days. They agreed but said I needed to have my debit card charged right there on the spot (over the phone) for all previous fees and for the next couple of days. You definitely get the vibe from Larry that everything is constantly moving, moving, moving. In and out. He's a nice guy though. Anyway I basically had to make an on the spot decision to drop this money on the rental. A little less than $300, which isn't life changing, and was necessary, I just like a little time to think anytime I'm spending over $50. All in all they're good for what they are, but Turo can be much cheaper. read more

This time we knew what we were looking for and Craig assisted us with several test drives and with the purchase once we made our decision. I wasn't impressed at all. First of all, I requested a compact car while my car was in the shop for some repair work. They delivered a Dodge Challenger with a 5.7 liter engine calling it an "upgrade". Let's face it, living in Seattle that's a punishment but apparently that was all they had available. We needed a car for 2 days and checked the rates online. The smaller cars were listed at about 35-39 dollars a day. When i called to arrange i was told they are "sold out" but the agent said she could get me a car from their Lake City office. Fine. When i asked if it would be the same rate she said it would be about 180 dollars for 2 days! Pardon me? When i asked why the great price disparity she said "because we are sold out" She seemed to think that was a reasonable explanation. Super customer focused. Courteous and will go out of their way to accommodate and make it convenient. I was returning it a bit late due to traffic and appointments taking longer and they were very understanding. Not to mention, very quick. In and out with a car within twenty minutes. Even shorter to return. People here behave and conduct themselves like this is their own business and not just an employee picking up a paycheck. While waiting for my husband to pick me up I was told about the history and how it started and that it is privately owned by the original family that started it in 1969. Cool factoids. Rates are reasonable and competitive too! Had this van for a month and would have never thought about this brand and model until now. Drove well, solid, tons of space --and despite the large size of car, the gas mileage was quite efficient. I was getting ready to head to the office the other day when my Jeep prompted that it required "immediate service or repair". I took an Uber in, just to be cautious and when I got home, checked on it again. Same warning. I called Enterprise Rent-A-Car and got some central call center. It was about 3:45PM and Enterprise closes at 6:00. I asked that I be picked up as soon as possible and the initial contact person replied that they generally prefer a 2 hour heads up on pick ups, but connected me to the Shoreline location anyway. After a few minutes on hold, the gentleman said that they could have someone out to pick me up shortly. I'm about 3 miles away and "shortly" was 20 minutes in rush hour traffic, which meant they must have left right away. A few days later, when I dropped my Jeep off at the dealer, the Enterprise rep that picked me up happened to be there for another customer and remembered my face. He asked how I was and if I was just now dropping my Jeep off or if it was ready to be picked up. Lastly, I originally wasn't thrilled with the car they gave me (not their fault -I didn't have a reservation, they didn't have a lot to pick from) but they were happy to swap it out for something else a few days later. So far, once again, very happy with this Enterprise location. read more

Worst experience I had at a car rental Location. The guy helping me berated that fact and me that I was 45 mins late to pick up my car. If I'm late and I give away my car I'm fine with that.... it's my fault. But he was like "why were you late, you shouldn't be late, were you just preoccupied and thus wasn't important to call us". In addition, the lady next to him spilled a drink on the counter. I told him "hey no worries, I'll wait if you need to help clean that up". Then he said "I didn't spill it". Way to be a team player buddy. He walked me out to the car. Said it is non-smoking (obviously). I got in to the car and it smelled like the Marlboro man. There were a couple issues I had with the Ballard office and long story short, Bennet, at Shoreline, took responsibility to get the Ballard office to adjust what was happening so that I was better treated as a customer. I rent cars here for long drives for work about once or twice a month. The staff is always very attentive, fast and friendly. Unfortunately, the car quality is less than what it used to be and is getting worse. The past two times I had to return the car and get a replacement (which they were awesome about, they have fantastic customer service! ) because there were significant issues with the car. According to an anonymous Enterprise employee, all the new cars are being given to the airport and the local places are getting the higher milage cars. That is sad because the employees are getting more and more complaints but can do nothing about it. For example, the car I rented this week had about 30k miles, smelled like wet dog, was dirty inside, loud squeaky brakes, a broken seat adjuster and windshield wipers that definitely needed replaced. I would give them two stars but the folks that work there are just so excellent, oh they also pick you up and drop you off with no complaints. Not only did they not inform me that I was close to my limit, they didn't inform me that my extra insurance was not covered by Farmer's. At one point, I called and inquired about my total. Larry gave me a figure that was completely wrong. The following day when I turned in the car, I was given a totally different figure. He danced around and tried to spin his mistake. No pick up (downtown) and was very disappointed after over an hour travel time to get there I was not compensated like I was led to believe over the phone. They were not open on sunday when I needed to return the vehicle. I rent cars regularly so I understand how this happened. Beware, Enterprise does not fill cars to 100%, making it very difficult to estimate amount of gas needed to fill the tank to the correct level, then they charge half again the price of gas if they feel you are short. Customer service is also rude, vehicle was low on oil and was sluggish to drive. Overall, I suggest picking a different rental car company if at all possible. Personally, I will pay more in the future to avoid Enterprise because they seem to find a way to get their money on the back end. Not impressed. read more

Customer service representative tried to aggressively up sell me on insurance and lied about my car "not being covered" under my personal automotive policy. I called my insurance agent and she confirmed that indeed I was covered. When the sales rep heard this he changed his words, stating that he never said I wasn't covered. This place is terrible. They seem to think that either the insurance company or the car repair shop is their customer, even though they take your credit card for payment. They kept me waiting at the shop, kept me waiting for s final bill, and seem to be incapable of looking into the future to schedule anything that's doesn't fit their needs. Terrible experience, and they just don't care. The way they deal with a customer who points out they are failing is to ask "Do you want to get going? Or do you want to stand here and talk?" The customer service I received here by Matt was one of the best experiences I had renting a car. I rented back in May when Enterprise offered 9.99 a day weekend rates. I came in on busy day and the car I was renting was not cleaned as it should have been I told Matt no problem that I would take to car wash since his staff was busy cleaning another car.
