They were supposed to pick me up yesterday morning. My son walked in to Southampton Enterprise and they said I should call. I had called over a hundred times already ! Brian told my son he had a cargo van. That's not what I reserved! I can't nor should have to drive a cargo van. 2.5 hours until they answered the phone. It cost me $40 to Uber to my sons job so I could take his car to work. The same amount to Uber him home. He missed a day of school. Here I am Friday morning when Brian promised he would pick me up at 8:15 am. It is now 8:35. I'm on hold for the SH location 20 minutes and no one has even picked up the phone. 15 minutes on hold so far with customer service who said they would call Brian. They're "hold" advertisement says they are happy to pick you up "we'll be there" " we love going the extra mile" WELL??? Where are they??? No accountability, just empty promises and "umm I'm sorry what can I do ?" From Brian yesterday. Why ask if you're not going to do anything ? Customer service is no better ! No return call. No car. They said there's only one person in the office. My son said there were at least 8. So they lie. Brian should be fired. Now I'm told someone is on the way. No answers for why I wasn't notified. Disappointed is an understatement . (Note)We rented a car just for one day. They wont give us our deposit of $250 back due to trumped allegations of detailing work. They said the tank wasn't full when I personally filled it up right before taking it back in ,$30 bucks worth in gas!. I also reviewed the interior to make sure no trash or property was left behind and they still want to charge me $150 dollars on detailing with no justifications of why I'm being charged that amount. When I ask to speak to the managers conveniently the manager is never around, note I've been calling every week or 2 for 2 months now and nobody can give me an answer or at least tell me where is the rest of my money?. read more

Terrible experience. Called to reserve a car covered by my insurance when mine was out of commission. The fellow took my credit card info, insurance and repair contacts, and told me if I came by late in the day, a car would be available. When I arrived, I found there was no car reserved for me. He said he could upgrade me to a flatbed truck. That's all he had. He didn't think he could locate the budget car I thought was settled upon. I reminded him that enterprise and alamo and national - the same company, are all over the place, and surely one car, could be brought to Southampton as promised. He had my credit card deposit and I had no car. I had to go through the hassle of returning again the next day, when he this time, tried to upgrade all kinds of additional unneeded fees. Before finally leaving with a car, my husband and I specifically asked if the rental would be fully covered, and the charge would be removed at return. He said yes. My husband called several days later regarding extended car repair and so, rental. The same fellow assured my husband that he'd been in conversation with the service station and the insurance company. We were good. Called today, two months later, to tell them that there is a substantial bill on my credit card that I did not authorize and that I was assured was covered. The woman on the phone said the salesman no longer works at that location and she can't vouch for what he said. She refused to contact the sales agent and verify our conversations. She yelled at me, saying that I signed the contract allowing the up-charge above insurance coverage when I first arrived (and was given no car or paperwork in return.) I find this slimy, unprofessional and corrupt. I am filing a complaint to the State's Attorney General and Better Business Bureau. And when asked my preference of agency by my neighbors in this very small town, I will determinedly say, as I do here, 'not Enterprise.' read more

The rudest customer service agent I have ever encountered in my life works at this enterprise location. I was taking one extra minute to say goodbye to my loved one before getting out of the car at the location and he leaned on his horn for 20 seconds instead of a normal beep to alert us he was there. When he and I both started walking into the building I asked him if it was necessary to lean on his horn like that. He yelled at me and told me it was, scoffed and told me "he didn't care" (?) then I realized he was wearing an enterprise outfit and I asked if he worked there. He again scoffed "ugh, no, what?" And looked at me like I was an idiot as he walked behind the counter. I made a complaint to the other man behind the desk because this guy is in customer service and he is representing the company while acting like a complete jerk. I hope he gets fired. read more

I've been renting with Enterprise for many years -- it feels like thirty, but maybe it's 15 or twenty. But at least twice a year, for months at a time. So I've had a lot of experience with branches all over the country, spent a lot of money with this company, and with a few minor exceptions, have liked them a lot. Renting from this branch, however, on Tuesday 15 September, was been a nightmare -- a real departure from the norm, and enough to make me rethink my relationship with Enterprise altogether. After all, now that they aren't "the company that picks you up" any more due to Covid (completely understandably), if they aren't going to value their repeat customers, what's the point? Anyway, for quite a few years now because I've rented with them so often and spent so much money with them they've waived the one-way, drop fee -- in fact, I'd even been told that it was no longer applicable in Massachusetts, and I believe even northern Connecticut (so I could drop at Hartford). Not so Wednesday when I tried to arrange to drop the truck (which was the only vehicle they had to rent me) off. Northampton branch assistant manager Kelsey Paterwic refused to waive it, so did her boss, Rose, and so did Rose's boss Brad Teal, who told me there is no one above him to appeal to. Guess he thinks I'm really naive, either that or he thinks he has more power than CEO Chrissy Taylor... Ironically, when I dropped it off in Orleans Wednesday, the lovely young woman there told me she had decided not to charge me the drop fee after all because she needed the vehicle, but nope, since it's the Northampton office that calls the shots, they stuck it back on my final bill. Not only that, but when I called Kelsey to ask to change the card on my account, she told me she couldn't do it over the phone, I had to go into the office. Which the Orleans office told me would not be their office -- it had to be the Northampton office. Like I'm going to drive back to Northampton, and spend more time in-person, during a pandemic... And even tho I've changed the card on my account over the phone at least a couple of times before... So I've given up -- in this pandemic and with everything else going on, I'd expected much better than this treatment, and no longer want to spend my energy fighting them. Altho I've been a huge fan of Enterprise in the past, I am not a fan of the current staff at the Northampton office and their chain of command...so, other renters beware. read more

The Worst experience with East Hampton & Southampton office. Don't rent a car from Enterprise!!!!!!!!! My car was getting repaired and when I spoke with enterprise on the phone I specifically asked for the rental that would be fully covered by7 the insurance, that the accident wasn't my fault and I wasn't going pay out of pocket. I was assured by the associate I'll get the car that was covered 100% by the insurance. Days after I returned the rental I noticed a charge of 580$ on my credit card that I did not authorize and knew nothing about. I contacted the office and they told me that I agreed to pay 40$ a day for the insurance and additional 5$ a day for a car upgrade. In a meanwhile I am 100% covered by GEICO and I wasn't told that I'm signing up for any additional insurance since I did not need it! And defiantly didn't ask for an upgrade but specifically told them I need the whole amount to be covered. The woman on the phone are telling me that it's not they problem since I signed the agreement. The agreement that they now giving to sign on an iPad, the guy just scrolled down to the signature line and I signed without looking. Wasn't expected they are scamming customers. Well, if we should go by this agreement, my agreement only showing I'm using the car for 1 day!!!! How come I have to pay 580$. What a joke... Then this woman told me that as a curtesy she can refund 5$ per day, that's not a curtesy, since they were not supposed to be charging me that in the first place When I asked to speak with a supervisor she told me he will call me on Friday, since nobody called, I called them back on Friday asking for a supervisor once again the woman told me he is not in till Monday. Today is Wednesday still there is no call from the manager, they did not refund any charges. In the addition to that, they keep transferring me from East Hampton to Southampton and back. Between 2 offices not one person willing to talk to me. I find this very unprofessional and corrupt. Since the "management" nowhere to be found, totally ignoring my calls and seems to care nothing about customer satisfaction I am filing a complaint to the State's Attorney General and Better Business Bureau. read more

My customer service experience at the Southampton, New York Enterprise Car Rental was far and away one of the worst customer service experiences I have ever had. Do not rent from this locale if you can avoid it. I'm renting a car for two months and was not happy with the one I had originally picked up over the 4th of July in NYC, but there weren't any other SUV options available that morning, so I agreed to take it. I figured I could do a simple swap out of the car for another one from the same category once I got to Southampton. I understood that may not be possible over the busy 4th weekend which it wasn't, but each weekday (weekdays are slower) I was told told by employees of the Southampton location to call and they would be able to do it. Each day I called and each day they were not able to do it. I kept being told this day after day. I was getting a total runaround. It was not until I had a leaky front tire that the situation escalated because I obviously did not want to continue driving the car. I even had a fellow manager from my original pick up location in NYC call their office on my behalf to make sure I could swap my car out given it was no longer safe to drive my car. The NYC manager I had asked to call them, spoke to the Southampton location and they told her they would have a car ready 3 hours from the point of her call. I arrive right on time, and instead of being able to rent another SUV like my original contract said, they offered me 2 options that were not suitable for my needs. A HUGE SUV that is very hard to drive or a sedan that does not meet my space needs. I took the sedan becuase, again, I did not have another option. I was told to drive it for one day and that they could swap it out by 3:30 the following day for the size SUV I need. Mind you, at this point, I have likely wasted over 2 hours on my vacation dealing with this car rental situation. I show up right on time the next day and I was told two things by the Manager at this location. 1) the original car I turned in with the leaky tire also had 3 OVERLY inflated tires that could have blown any minute! Not safe. 2) the new SUV (now in my third car since July 5th) that I had been asking for for over a week was finally available. I get into the new SUV that they tell me has just been fully serviced, turn on the ignition and an alert comes up that one of the key fobs had a low battery. I then have to wait another 15 minutes while the manager talks on the phone distractedly while fixing my key fob at the same time. I finally drive away from the Enterprise, and I get another alert of my dashboard that says the front tire has low pressure. I pull over and stop the car to call the manager who tells me the new tires are calibrating and that is why the car sensor is telling me that message. The manager tells me the message will disappear shortly. I don't entirely believe that explanation but continue to drive it back to our house. I then get out of my car to take a look at the tire in quesiton and the other 3 tires and guess what? The tire I called him about is almost flat!!!! I call the manager for the upteenth time, and he tells me to send him a picture and he will call me right back. Those were his words, "right back." Guess what? He does NOT. At this point it is 5pm and I need a car for the evening, so I call back to be told he is on a conference call. Don't you think as a manager, who is supposed to put his customer's needs first (evident that don't follow that motto even though Enterprise advertising is all about that motto), could tell anybody he is suppose to be on a conference call with that he has to deal with an important customer matter and he will get back to them? Common sense, no? Knowing that I will not get my situation resolved unless I go back to Enterprise, I drive the car with the flat tire very slowly back to Enterprise. I walk in and the manager gives me a hand with a finger signal to wait a few minutes. ME? THE CUSTOMER, WAIT AGAIN? Really the most unbelievable experince I have ever had. The manager then proceeds to get up, and instead of immediately trying to solve my issue and get me in a fully functioning, safe car with out leaky tires or tires that are about to blow, he calls his car service station that had just serviced the SUV he gave me to see about getting his money back for the service of the car. NOW, DO YOU REALLY THINK THAT CALL TO THE SERVICE GARAGE, WITH ME STANDING THERE, SHOULD HAVE BEEN THE CALL HE WAS MAKING IN FRONT OF ME? Again, his priority should have been to get me into a safe, fully functioning car and not worry about getting his money back from a service station. In summary, the Southampton Enterprise has the worst customer service I have ever had. The manager and his fellow staff are rude, arrogant and do not follow Enterprises' credo of putting the customer first. I would say they do the opposite. Do not rent from them. read more

Stay FAR AWAY from this Enterprise location. I was periodically over charged after I left the office, sometimes charging my credit card for unspecified charges 5 times in one day. Spent months fighting the charges with no explanation from management. The cars small and are filthy...Go to Hertz instead. Not worth the headache. read more

I was forced to rent a car when my own car broke down during the first days of 2014 while I was supposed to have a great holiday near Winchester. I could not have wished for a better service. I am not joking, they were short of staff and they still managed to find me a 2013 Nissan Juke in spotless condition to use straight away. The paperwork took 5 mins to complete and the Polish gentleman who took me to the car helped me by explaining everything to me and waited until I was confident with all the car functions. Megan, the lovely young lady who helped me through the process @ Enterprise desk @ Southampton Airport took my headache away. She knew exactly what I meant when I said I had a bad day and I just wanted to get back to London and you know when you know everything is going wrong and you have little faith that Enterprise will save the day, well this lady put her finger on my wound and healed it, literally.The joy of being mobile again and making the best of the last day of my holiday... ahhhh, cannot be explained on paper! I could not be more thankful - I had such a bad couple of days with the bags not arriving with my flight, car breaking down in the middle of the drive and not enjoying my weekend with my friends and Megan was as professional as one would expect when you pay premium price with the AA. I promised her I would brag about her because she deserves it and great customer service has to be praised! Anyway the story does not end here, I drove the car back to London and as I was not able to find a garage to repair my car by the time I had to drop off the car I called Enterprise on Royal Mint and asked them if I could keep the car for a few more hours until the AA dropped my car at the garage and they were fine with it. Not having to argue with anyone and sell my circumstances just to get good customer service - a massive relief! The staff at Enterprise Royal Mint - super cool, they are professional, have a good sense of humour and did not give me any grief. All in all, I could not be happier with the service, I knew nothing about this company before I used it and I would certainly use it again. All the customer services staff are great ambassadors for this brand and I hope that around the country they all are the same - a massive THANK YOU to Enterprise for bringing me back home safe, being flexible with the service, listening to my grief and taking my headache away. The service was well explained to me and I did not pay a penny more for anything, a simple exchange of signatures and I had the car, then I dropped of the key and that was IT! They even gave me a ride back to my workplace which was much appreciated ;) Thank you guys, you deserve a medal for the way in which you handled everything, for your communication and for your lovely personalities ;) read more
