Despite the reviews I actually had a good experience the 2nd time around. The first time I booked through Expedia and when I showed up, they told me they tried to call me but didn't have a number on file but they didn't have anymore cars available. That was unfortunate but I came back another time. I think his name was Isaiah? He was very friendly, helpful and got me out in a timely manner. The girl who walked me to the car and went over some details was also very nice. I was able to transfer my contract over from National at the CHS airport to here so that saved me a trip. read more

Cars are not supposed to be smoked in, yet the car was smoked in---felt ill the entire trip. The previous renter tried to hide the smoke with massive amounts of perfume. After two days of dealing with horrible smoke issues, we reached our destination and had no problem exchanging the car. The reason for the two-star review is due ENTERPRISE renting out a smoke-filled car. They should have never made it available to the public. read more

My car is having "recall work" done on it, so I needed a loaner. The Berkeley Ford, Moncks Corner, SC dealership does business with Enterprise Rental, in Moncks Corner, SC. Grace, the employee at the Moncks Corner location quoted a price, with tax, per day. I take that price & go to battle at Berkeley Ford, after talking with Ford Motor Corp, to have the total cost of the rental covered; it's "recall" work, for one thing. They let the car sit on their lot for 2.5 weeks without even looking at it, for another; at least they didn't lie to me face on that part. There shouldn't be a dime out of my pocket for "recall work" or the loaner. Ford Motor Corp approves it. The Service Manager & owner of Berkeley Ford told us we could pick the car up the next morning (Friday, 11/22/24) from Enterprise; we had the reservation #..... 30 days for the approved price, nothing out of pocket...... it's now Monday afternoon, around 2:30pm, and still waiting..... no returned calls & still no loaner. It's "recall work" on a 2019 Ford EcoSport, a car still financed. The dealership can't get parts in, supply chain issues, but they've had (2) yrs of knowing this; their words, not mine. That's also a "them" problem, not a "me" problem. So they can't get the parts for the recall so they're dropping in a new engine. Meanwhile they've had the car for 2.5 weeks at this point, telling me it's gonna be a month or two, cause there's other cars in front of us. 2.5 weeks before they even looked at the car! During these 2.5 weeks Ford either doesn't answer their phone at all or the person is busy/on the phone & will return the call; I'm still waiting for returned calls; I drove up to deal with them in person. But I digress...... Grace, at Enterprise, who quoted the TOTAL price/per day, that I fought for, for days, with Ford Motor Corp & Berkeley Ford..... obviously doesn't know her ass from fat meat, cause the QUOTED price is the wrong price & Enterprise, whom Grace represents, won't honor the quoted price/per day, that I fought with Ford for. What the hell ever happened to Customer Service or honoring your word? If Grace were my employee, she'd be looking for a new job. Andrew, the Manager, isn't much better. He was called personally, from the Service Manager at Ford, to his personal line; he knew what was going on. Andrew was to call us; call still hasn't come in. I didn't know what else to do so I reached out to Enterprise Customer Service. I went through the spill. (2) different Agents agreed with me that the price quoted by Grace, at Enterprise, should be honored. Told me to go get the car, it was ready, with $0 out of pocket. They also told me they were reaching out to have the Manager call me cause they couldn't believe he'd not called yet; that call has yet to come in. My MIL rides with me to go get the car..... it's not ready & when Andrew started helping us, he wouldn't honor what his employee quoted, nor was a car ready for us; they didn't have one available on their lot, we'd have to go to another location, but pay the difference on their new quoted price. Since Enterprise won't honor the QUOTED price/per day, we can either do without a car until the dealership has it ready OR I can pay almost $4/day, for the new price of the rental, for (30) days, while still making my car payment. I shouldn't have to pay a dime! Maybe I'm the only one who thinks this way?! I'll make sure to never use Enterprise in the future, as they don't honor their word, don't return calls, for days, and overall piss poor customer service. I've owned many, many Fords for most of my life. We quit using Jones Ford cause they did shotty work on our 2004 Mustang Cobra, almost ruining it. We started using Berkeley Ford for new purchases, as well as any service. But after this service debacle, I'm thinking my next car is gonna be a different make than Ford. read more

My experience with Katie at the Summerville East 5th North Street location was nothing but professional, easy, and wonderful!. I was even a witness to her being very professional to guests that had called on the phone that were disrespectful, aurgumentive and dismissive. They apparently had alot trouble understanding store locations and costs of the reservations they had previously made to Enterprise. I welcome any store managers to discuss further my positive and professional interactions with Enterprise Employee Katie. And both interactions happened on very busy Saturday times. Totally miss the old crew at the Summerville location . I frequently use this location but the last to encounters here have not been so good with this last encounter being a disaster . You called to confirm my pick up for a premium SUV the day before I was scheduled to pick it up confirm that I will be there for me to arrive the next day for you to tell me that you do not have an SUV but you have a van. I didn't reserve a van I reserved the SUV. I gave them a chance to find me the vehicle that I reserved. Came back an hour later for them to say they don't have anything but if I go to the airport, I can get a suv there , so for their mistake, for not having the vehicle that I reserved, I must go all the way to Charleston through rush-hour. My reservation that was for $357 is now $628 at the airport. This is not the first time they've done this to me. This is the second and it won't be a third Summerville location. You don't have to worry about my business anymore, I reserved a SUV for a reason not for you to try to convince me to take something that I did not reserve if you look at all my Rentals they've all been SUVs , the old crew would've tried to accommodate my reservation, I get it that things happen but you confirmed my order a day prior to pick up now my road trip has to be delayed. And is costing me double if this wasn't something important that I had going on this weekend I would've canceled this reservation but I'm not able to make a reservation the same day you have to make it in advance. Thanks a lot enterprise at Summerville. OAN - get to Charleston airport as the man from Summerville enterprise told me to go and guess what they have no suv available. Am totally upset after fighting traffic to be told at 6:21 pm they have nothing . TERRIBLE experience as a first time customer with rep Sara Waugh at the Summerville, South Carolina location. She kicked my wife and I out of line twice. She told us to be patient while she serviced people behind us in line. New people continued to come in and get a car while we sat and waited for over 20 minutes. I got back in line because we have an appointment with lawyers in Georgia. I asked her to treat us fairly. Do not rent a car from this location! If I could give zero stars I would. I picked up a car from a Enterprise location across town and a few days later there was an issue with one of the tires. I make several calls about exchanging the vehicle and find out the Enterprise location in Summerville on 121 East 5th North street was the only location with a same class vehicle. They actually had 4 SUVs in stock with no reservations attached. I spoke to Robby at that location and was told I could come there and exchange the vehicle I was in for a different SUV. So I left work early and call this location to let them know I'm on my way. The young lady I spoke with referenced the tire issue from the previous conversation with Robby and said they would be ready for me when I arrived. I drive across town (30 minutes travel time), fuel and wash the car. When I show up at the location and walk inside I'm told I can't have any of the midsize SUVs which I was previously told I could have. In fact, the manager, Clinton, said "you can have a van". I replied that that wasn't what I had discussed with Robby previously and that can doesn't fit my needs for several reasons. The manager again responded "you can have a van or nothing". I travel a good bit with work and I don't think I've ever had such horrible customer service with a rental car agency as with this location. I've put calls into corporate and will make sure a regional or higher manager is aware of the actions of those involved. If you're looking to rent a car, find someplace else. You'll regret dealing with the people at this location. read more

Always always ALWAYS a pleasure working with this team. My experience with other rental companies (Budget and Thrifty for example) have been downright horrible. These guys will own up to mistakes they've made and will do what they can to do right by the customer. We have only had one incident where we weren't satisfied with our service provided and they fixed the issue right away. Enterprise is a bit on the pricier side of the car rental industry, but it is totally worth paying a few dollars extra to have a smooth and HONEST transition/transaction rather than the headache of going through a "franchise" that doesn't follow corporate procedures and uses that to extort you. The process was so fast and easy once all the kinks were worked out. They even tried to work something out to pick me up from home - about 20 miles from their office. My car broke down in an unfamiliar area and it has been a nightmare every step of the way, however when you recognize a familiar name a company that is supposed to be reputable you feel a little at ease, in this case it was enterprise. I tried to make a reservation using the app and no luck so I called in and spoke with someone who sat up the reservation and made her aware I'm not from this are and she said hold and I will get you in touch with the pick up service. Well the line just rang and then I was disconnected. Well the time was 2:30 and this location closes at 4pm. I called the 800 number back and the rep I got said she couldn't reach the rental office. So my Dad and I were forced to walk. When we arrived after our 1.1 mile walk we were greeted with were not answering phones. What in the WORLD???? The rep Ron said he would rent me a car, WHAT!!!! I have a reservation of course you are renting me a car. I asked to speak to his manager who was standing there when I explained everything to him. When Ken Porter came over he asked what I wanted him to do it wasn't his fault. I said well that's just bad customer service it's not my fault either. After the two of us went back and forth and the elderly lady next to me said yeah they advise they will pick you up and no one came to get me either. He said well I will give you an upgrade. I asked him why not offer that first for my trouble and show customers you care he had no response. The longer my Dad and I stayed in the office the more customers came in to complain. Cars are not ready for "check out" despite the fact that reservations are done in advance... They rent cars that are "expected" to be in. Once the car arrives.. You have to wait for them to rinse and vacuum the vehicle.. The staff is unaware of the inventory and seem to have problems reading information on the computer. read more

Had to use this at the last minute at 8:30am instead of Hertz. I must say they were outstanding for getting you in the door but once there it seemed they dragged their feet getting me into a vehicle. They were not well-prepared for a Monday morning to accommodate the rush or the reservations (because office is so open many customers knew who did and did not have a reservation). I was also disheartened by a woman who, before I got there, was upset about not having a vehicle and she was still there waiting by the time I left 1.5 hours later. The vehicle was in good shape but the dashboard and radio face were "greasy(?)" and smelled odd when I first got in. By the time I left the car sitting for a little while (work) and got back in it smelled like cigarette smoke (I've never smoked and Enterprise didn't tell me it's allowable in their vehicles). I have been a loyal customer of Enterprise since about 2005. Never even considered using anyone else because the customer service has always been so great. Today,however, they really pissed me off. I made a reservation online the night before and the " Total Due at Time of Pickup" came to $188.46. They come and pick me up today and everything is going good. I get to the counter and the guy says $388.46."Oh yeah" there's a $200.00 hold placed on your card in addition to the regular charges.I pointed out that no where on my reservation did it make any mention of the additional charges. I looked. "Well sorry we have to have it.""Can you waive it please?" "I'm a long time repeat customer." "Nope" was the reply I got. Well, I'm sorry, please stick that rental policy where the sun don't shine! I will never use Enterprise again. It would have been fine if they had posted it in my total, online. I have always used enterprise for all my rental car needs. I have been using them since 2015 and have always had exceptional service EXCEPT today. My husband and I were looking to rent a standard SUV for our weekend trip and I have never in my life been through so much of a headache. I just rented a vehicle from this location on February 10, 2018. Not even a month ago and my experience was no where near this bad. I called today and set my reservation with someone named "Alyssa." I asked if he could be picked up and she said yes and that he needs a pay stub and proof of residency. I was very puzzled because they have never asked for this before. I then call the local branch and the gentleman I spoke to, who I wish I remember his name, stated that just proof of residency is fine. Well my husbands pick up time rolls around, NO ONE SHOWS UP. I call the local branch and they say they don't see pick up listed on my reservation. Okay, no big deal because they said they could be there in 45 minutes. Then, this girl, "Maggie", says to make sure he brings TWO utility bills. I advised her I was told by a gentleman there previously that one would suffice and she said no, that he needs to two to pick up the car. Well, this is the first time since 2015, and I have made numerous reservations with Enterprise, that I have ever heard of this. So now, my husband and I are scrambling around looking for two utility bills because they have to be paper copies according to the branch and can't be electronic like every other bill in the world. But just last month I walked right in and rented a car without any of this crap and I watched everyone else that Saturday get a rental without any of this either so please tell me why all of a sudden this is a procedure? I work for a local insurance agency and I have always referred my customers to Enterprise over Hertz, but not anymore. Also, if someone could show this review to Tripp Long. yes, i have to mention this review I think you'll see why, My wife and I were visiting Summerville today from out of town and had lunch near by the Enterprise Car rental, when we came out dummy me closed the door and locked my keys in borrowed truck after about 5 minutes of debating how we were going to get in, a sharp looking young professional (by the name of Eddie Maracich) from Enterprise came up with everything i needed to open my neighbors truck he had noticed us pondering what were going to do. Talk about your GOD send! I tried to pay him but he refused, so I went back later to try another attempt but missed him, but he knows he has a free lunch waiting in Bluffton when he's down. I recently rented a vehicle from this company. I intially rented the vehicle for the weekend since they have a weekend special for $19.99 per day. So I upgraded and paid an additional $150 refundable deposit. I then called on Monday morning to extend the rental 1 day. I went in to return the rental the next day but decided to keep it for a week from that day which was a Tuesday. I was charged for what I used and the rep told me the deposit would roll over to the new contract and I would receive it back once I returned the vehicle. Instead of keeping the car for the week I returned after 2 days so I was refunded for the additional days of the new contract. Now, I asked the rep when she said what would be refunded to my card if I would receive my deposit separately since it was not included with the refunded amount and she said yes. Well a couple days went by and I received the refunded amount but not the deposit amount. I called to ask what the status was and Christina told me she would review and call me back. Needless to say she did not call me back. So I called back that afternoon and she told me she had to speak with the audit department and she would call me back. I called the next day to be placed on hold repeatedly and after speaking to Julie, Katie and back to Christina I was told I would be called back. Never received a call back so I went to Enterprise and was told the same thing. I called the next day and the same thing took place. I was put on hold and told I would be called back. Well enough of that after 3 days and no results and not even the common curtesy to call me back I called headquarters and spoke with someone to place a complaint and get some type of resolution. He got all my information and informed me he would look into it and call me back. 2 days later I checked my account and my deposit was refunded. Look at what I had to go through to get something that was rightfully mine! I will never use Enterprise and I won't recommend them to anyone either. read more
