If I could leave 0 stars, I would. I'd like to warn other potential car renter's regarding the Enterprise location at 501 West North Avenue, Villa Park, IL. Not only did I have a screw-on device stolen from the rental 5 minutes after I returned by the car cleaners, Enterprise charged me a $25+$1.50 Citation Charge for the "tollway exit on North Ave". Per the IL Tollway authorities, my transferred transponder was in fact charged for this exit. BTW, this charge was dated Feb of 2026 for a 9-2-25 to 9-12-25 rental. Enterprise 800 CS, ran me through the hoops to attach documentation from IL Tollway. The only reason I pursued this small refund was the fact that they stole from me & the branch and 800# did NOTHING about it. Hours & hours of phone calls and emails. Never renting from here EVER AGAIN!!! After I took my van to crash champion to be repaired, I was able to get a rental from here. Once I got my rental car, I added it to my IPass account as instructed by Enterprise in-order to be able to drive on the tollways. When I returned my rental after having it for about a month, and once my van was repaired, about a month later I begin getting four emails from enterprise for Citation Charge for Tollways TOTALING ME OVER $70!!!!!!!!!!! I then call the number on the citation charge claiming that I added the vehicle to my IPass account as told by enterprise and that I am not supposed to be receiving these citations, all they tell me to do is send them screen shots of my IPass account and Vehicle History Record... which I did. I have my sister in law to call this location she talked to Austin and he told her he had several cars available and to come in. I came in talk to Austin he still tried to convince me that he had no cars available, I feel as if I was racially discriminated against for whatever reason. Austin refused to give me his boss number. Brutal service. This rental was booked through my insurance company. The rental was replacing a large SUV with a 3rd seat, while our truck was being repaired. They picked me up at the body shop and literally the only vehicle they had was a Malibu that was filthy. The two girls working were running all over as they were clearly understaffed, even though I called the day before for the reservation and this branch knew I was coming. Even with this notice, not one other vehicle was available. We had family coming in town and needed a large vehicle. Their car was not even washed. They would not take a corporate credit card in my wife's name even though it was her car and policy that their rental was replacing. I should have known something was up. Now six weeks later they hit us with a $20 admin fee since there was a toll that my I-pass did not pick up. Simple issue with I-pass that could have been resolved. $1.50 charge from I-pass, that they charged $20 service fees. Skip Enterprise and go with Hertz instead. read more

This is a typical car rental place. You don't have much of a choice of cars cause the lot is small comparing to the Airport car rental place. Customer service folks are nice, they were generous enough to give me an upgrade for free due to the lack of my choices of cars. I get a discount from work since I rent a car to drive to Wisconsin. Getting to this place is not easy for 1st time customers driving westbound on North Ave...you have to make a U-turn at the stoplight. I also wish their office hours is later like 7p or 8p cause once you miss the 6pm drop off, you get charged for a full day rental...that SUCKS! It happened to me. This place started okay. Our car was hit and we needed a car while it was being serviced. We made a reservation on line in order to have less wait time. That worked good. I told the guy we did not want insurance. He pushed and pushed and told my fiancé it would only be 16 dollars. He failed to mention it was 16 dollars per day during a 5 day rental. Awful communication. When he was confronted he showed no empathy with ZERO customer service skills. I would not want to do business with a place you can't trust. The insurance company of the person who hit my car in September 2019 contracted with two rental car companies, one of which was Enterprise. The body shop said that Enterprise was superior compared to the other option due to the cleanliness and age of the cars. He said they had a good relationship with the Villa Park location and they'd take good care of me. Sure enough, I had a great experience from Sam picking me up at the body shop, checking out at the location with Jessica, to the final drop off at the body shop. I highly recommend Enterprise. First the negative. This Enterprise left me on hold listening to that repetitive jingle for 45 minutes, twice. They took about an hour to pick me up after I dropped off my car for repair despite being given a heads up earlier in the day. There was a tiny selection of rental cars on the lot, so tiny that you don't actually choose the car you are renting. I was originally given a car that had not been vacuumed or washed, which was embarrassing. I left the lot and returned later to complain. The manager, allowed me to take another car instead, which I had witnessed an Enterprise employee crash earlier in the day on the lot. This car was nicer than the first (and cleaner), despite the noticeable damage to its rear bumper. Now the positive. Enterprise works directly with Progressive Insurance, so the process of renting a car while my car was being repaired was actually painless. Enterprise does pick you up and drop you off. The people who work here are very nice and helpful, especially the manager. I had no problems with the second car I was given. The manager paid to fill my tank when I returned the rental to make up for initially renting me a dirty car. read more

If you have a reservation here I feel sorry for you!! They won't have the car you ask for and then they will try to up sell you a different one for a ridiculously more amount of money. Then they will talk down to you like you are stupid. And then your new car will smell like weed. Long story short I called this location, asked for a specific car (a fuel efficient car) the lady I spoke to said that would not be a prpblem. When I arrived there they tried to sell me a Camero. The mpg on a Camero is about 20. I looked it up. Then when I spoke my mind about the issue I was belittled and treated like I was a clueless child. And when everything finally got settled I we were given a car that reaked like weed. I was not happy about putting my family in it. read more

I have been using Enterprise and the VP store in particular for 15 years when I need to rent a car. I live nearby and I can tell you that this is a very busy location with a very small lot. They frequently run out of cars, so reserve in advance. I find the employees are always professional and will go out of their way to try to appease demanding customers. I think they are trained well and even though the turn over of employees is pretty high, I feel they work hard to earn their business. I could never do their job, so I try to be a little tolerant and humble when the wait time is a little long. I try to avoid getting picked up or dropped off because I live close, but generally, my wait times have overall been reasonable. For the convenience of having this rental location close to my home, I can be a little forgiving when needed. read more

I have used this enterprise rental car for the last five years, and through three managers. Being an insurance agent I also recommend this enterprise to my customers. I have had nothing but good experiences. I have found all of the managers and personnel to be cooperative and caring of my customer experience. Also being a one car family with two kids there are many times when we need an extra car throughout the year in order to be able to accomplish our schedule. In almost all cases I couldn't ask for better service. Yeah, sometimes there's a wait especially on Monday morning, but they do try hard even then to make sure that you are acknowledged and then taken care of as soon as possible. read more

I rented from this place today - had the car I wanted and the lady at the counter was really kind. Never had an issue at this branch.

I happened to look at my credit card statement, which I only use on special occasions, and saw that I had a charge on it for $13.80. I called and spoke to Ben. I told him that it was wrong of his company not to inform me that I had been billed for what he told me was probably a toll fee. He went on the defensive and began to raise his voice to me and I in turn raised my voice to him. He then hung up on me and continued to pick up the phone and hang up for a few minutes afterwards. After I had a terrible experience with one the managers at the North Av location over by Villa Park Il, I try to reach management for over three months, to explained how this guy ruined our vacations for no reason and they ignored me, and after several months their brilliant solution was to banned me from renting cars from this company, I went to a different location to avoid that idiot Benjamin, and I was told that I could not rent there anymore all over the country and that I was dangerous for the employees! I was completely amazed! So this is what I get for 15 years of been a customer and never have a single problem, and the first time I have a problem with this asshole that has about 10 horrible reviews, instead of fixing the problem they ignored what happened, and did this to me. ZERO if it could be. NEVER USE THIS LOCATION. Horrible people! My car was hit and the place I went had me get a rental from here. They set it up at $25 a day. My husband went after work to pick it up with no problems. The car itself was nice. I returned it 9 days later and filled the tank. I probably drove it 150 miles at the most. At $25, I expected a bill of $225 or the most $250. My bill was $450. They charged me for the car at $25 a day, they charged me insurance which I would never agree to since I already pay insurance and they would cover me and then they charged for gas. None of which I agreed to. They told me we had to wait a few hours til a certain guy got in Alex Weber amd he would call us. Never did so I called there. He was extremely rude and said there was nothing he could do for us. I now called corporate and they said we have to wait 48 hours for a call back. My mistake was paying with my debit card. I didn't have the money to begin with for a rental but bit the bullet and got the cheapest per the auto repair place. I called them as well and they said they won't use them again either, I really hope that is true. I work do hard for my money and this type of awful business screwed me. In the end, this all comes from a rental uhaul that hit me and ran, come to find out too it was 2 guys that just robbed a store. I'm really pissed and will definitely posted wherever I can about it. I'm going to the village of villa park as well. What a dirty business. And my husband is a firefighter down the street from them. Nice way to treat someone who would respond to your needs. Update, they refunded me but not because of them because my body shop called and yelled at them saying he won't use them anymore which would take 10 to 20 customers from them weekly. read more

Showed up to pick up an SUV that we confirmed would be ready 3 times! The SUV was not at the Villa Park location and we had to be taken to another location to get the car. I have been renting cars from enterprise for years and will continue to do so. It's just I will not be renting from this place anymore. My complaint : Poor service, I had to wait over an hour to get my Reserved car, then was told if I bring the car back a day early I would not be charged for the next day. When I brought the car back (just talked to the person that took care of the renter) the manger came out and told me because of the rate I had they could not take off that day, ( while the person Hid out that told me to bring it back a day early and I would not be charge, and had the nerve to come out when I pulled and wave at me). If you want good customer service, don't come to this location. My mother and I reserved a car through the third party app, Priceline, and was set to pickup our rental from this location. We usually call ahead of time to make sure everything was finalized and we were good to go, making sure they have our car. Initially, everything was said to be in good standing. The reservation time was 8am. We came on time to pick up the car but was turned away because Jessica, who works at this location, told us that our account information was incorrect and refused to let us rent any car. The employee stated that the billing address for the major credit card being used for the reservation did not match the address that was printed on my mothers drivers license and we couldn't rent the car because of this reason. It confused us a little because we just rented a car back in June, from another enterprise location, and had none of these issues where our account information didn't apparently match. The employee tried to argue with us about the information being wrong and then suggests that we go to the DMV for an unnecessary address change on a license. This in insensitive to say during a pandemic. This was a very uncomfortable and inconvenient experience for my family at this time. read more

I have rented from this location 69 days in 2 years. I have never had bad service until today, I walked in and there were two customers waiting... Not one employee in the building or on the lot.. After 10 minutes a lady gets out of a car and walked in, looked at me and said "they are ahead of you" walks over to a lady sitting down and says "ready? lets go" so I watch as the employee gets in the rental car with the customer.... Really weird if you ask me, I would of just left but the employee had my drivers license. After 30 minutes it was finally my turn, she asked for my license, I told her she had it, she says "oh yeah" and pulls it from her back pocket, she then asks for my credit card, I told her it was on file and when I rented from the same location 7 days ago it was on file. She was totally incompetent AND had a terrible attitude, long story short I canceled the rental on the spot and just wrote Enterprise to cancel my account and delete my information. There are too many other rental customers that have competent employees without a terrible attitude. Stay away from this place! read more

If I could give 0 stars I would. GO SOMEWHERE ELSE TO RENT YOUR CAR. This place is run by an incompetent manager. I was in an accident, the collision repair shop called the one of the other insurance agency's preferred car rental place (this enterprise) and they picked me up. Hertz and Avis give you a car at the scene, this process took much longer. Gave them my credit card for the security deposit and until the insurance company claimed 100% fault to fully pay. I explained this to them, this isn't their first rodeo in regards to dealing with insurance companies. It took two weeks for the insurance company to verify and so the transaction was pending, so I was told. Once I got word that it would be fully covered by the insurance company I called enterprise, spoke with their manager Ben, and gave him all the information to switch it over and had the insurance company send a reservation over. The following week, I noticed they charged me. Called, told them to switch it over since it was their mistake and was told "well we already have your money so..." ?!??!! So what, tough shit?! Your mistake, fix it. NO, They didn't. Spent 2 hours of my day calling my credit card company, the insurance company, and enterprise management. All in all, GO SOMEWHERE ELSE. Absolutely horrible experience. I called early in the morning on 7/19/16 to confirm a rental for 4:30 pm. One of the employees was set to pick me up from the mechanic shop where I dropped my car off. I arrived at the shop and one of the workers called enterprise to let them know I was there. They said the employee couldn't come pick me up due to an emergency and someone from the mechanic shop would have to drive me there. I was dropped off at enterprise where it took 20 minutes for someone to even acknowledge that I was there waiting. They knew I had called early in the morning to have everything set up, but then the employee tells me they don't have a car ready for me and they would have to drive me to their location on Grand Ave. Seriously? The whole reason I called in the morning was to avoid a situation like this. I am 9 months pregnant and don't have the patience or strength to deal with something like this. They drove me and another customer to the other location where it took an additional 30 minutes to get me a rental. Horrible customer service and will never return. read more

Absolute worst customer service I've ever experienced! The branch "manager" Benjamin Williams (who lied and said he was the district manager) was so unbelievably rude to us! Our car is being fixed and our insurance company set us up with a rental in the meantime. We were supposed to have a reservation at a different location for a full size vehicle but they didn't have that available so they put us in a Jeep Liberty. The car has HORRIBLE gas mileage and my husband drives 30 miles one way to work every day, not to mention the brakes are squeaking and we have had to add oil to it. The original location said to make a reservation for a full size car at another location and then go in to swap it out. I made the reservation and called the branch to tell them our plan and they said they have an altima or a camry waiting. We were there in less than an hour and both the camry and the altima were sitting there but we were told we were getting a dodge avenger. The avenger gets the same mileage as the compass we're trying to get rid of so obviously we don't want it. This so-called manager told us that they rented the camry out (lie) and the altima suddenly had a check engine light on, which I'd be willing to bet was also a lie. He had a terrible attitude and when we were understandably angry he told us we were wasting HIS time! What a jerk and what a ridiculous way to treat customers.... Anyone who goes there should know that they're dishonest and don't care in any way about their cutomers. read more

Oddly, a car was not available on-site for us even though we had an appointment. We had to wait approximately 30 additional minutes for an associate to retrieve a car from a different location.
