If I knew his sorry name I would curse anyone and all that shared it. Horrible customer service! He talked over me, was excessively rude and hung up on me after blurting out an 800 customer service number. This would have been the location the car would've been picked up yet he claimed he would have no information about that. If I were the president of Avis I would travel any distance to personally terminate this person's employment and further blacklist them from any job other than excrement collection. I received email confirmation about "my" car rental 950 miles away. In a state I've never visited, nor am visiting currently or in the immediate future. Had it not been for the kind, considerate, polite assistance from 2 customer service agents for Avis I would immediately write this company off as a permanent boycott /never purchase. But they saved the day. Lombard jerk- choke on it!

The agent was very slow at her job and did not explain the rental agreement very well. I was misinformed on how the tolls work, as I forgot to bring my iPass with on the trip. Now I need to contact the Illinois Tollway to straighten out the pay by plate tolls before I get fined by Budget! Pay by plate does not post on the iPass website, which I was originally told. Budget uses Plate Pass and gets billed automatically from the IL tollway I learned. Total moneymaking scam, in my opinion, so they can fine you on top of billing you for tolls. I should have gone with U-Haul. Never using Budget again and this location is terrible. Horrible experience. Shameful. I will be posting on additional online review platforms until Budget makes things right.

For the cargo van I was offered something with half the capacity as what I reserved. The only positive was that the person working there eventually gave us a reduced rate. Enough so to take the edge off of getting screwed. However, I'd be most happy if the vehicle I reserved ahead of time was ready at the time I requested at the rate I agreed upon when the rental was made.

They were unable to pick me up, despite me calling a day ahead. So I spent $10 on an Uber ride there. They open at 7:30, but I was told they couldn't have a car ready until 8:30. When I arrived at 8:30, there was a sign on the door - saying they had stepped away and would be back in 30 minutes?! Not looking good, and I do not even have a rental vehicle yet...I called the number on the door, and was advised she would "be there in 5 minutes". When she arrived she said "hi" and that was it. I dropped my vehicle off to be repaired at 7:30am. It is now 9:00am and I am back home with my rental car. The vehicle is nice, clean and runs well. I am now very sceptical of this Hertz location and am already anticipating issues when I return the car.

The car made a weird noise when turning - like wheel is gonna fly away. Surprisingly, while I am president's circle member, I should be getting a car in a better shape, I got the a rundown car that needs mechanics attention right away. I called the location to report these issues and guess what - they told me that they rented the car in perfect condition and they can't do anything about it. Make me feel really regret my decision to rent from this location. Bad Management, Bad attitude, Bad customer Service and Bad conflict resolution training. The vehicle was a pleasure the staff where very helpful, allowing me to chose the SUV that would suite me best and told me, "if I didn't like before I left bring it back we'll exchange it". The drop off was easy. Leave it Sunday night and throw the keys in the drop box. Above all else, the staff is exceeding kind. It's tough to find good customer service, but this facility has it nailed down.

I needed a vehicle to get to an upcoming housewarming party that had been planned for two days later. The car was a late-model Nissan Sentra which gave me the opportunity to try out some features that my current vehicle does not have. I LOVED the push-button ignition and rear-camera display! It will be something that I will look for in my new car. The return was easy AND quick. Vickie was not on duty, but the franchise owner was also efficient and helpful. Was stuck an hour on the telephone to get my money refunded for the econo box they downgraded me to while the npc just sat there on his phone watching Tik Tok videos. Note: The car was the worst part of our trip which was cross country. Please don't make the mistake I made since I was in a hurry to get out of this hole; Gave us a half tank of gas but expect you to pay for full on return. Please get it in writing how much gas was in the tank. A Gold member does not mean anything nor you get anything beneficial from them. Its a worse experience than shady dealerships but at least you know what you are getting into from them. Sadly Hertz mission statement should now be "To be the lowest quality, highest cost and most painful customer service rental company in every market we serve, we only create value for our shareholders."

I flew into O'Hare but ended up renting all the way in Glendale Heights. Renting in Glendale Heights vs O'Hare made a $500 difference in the rental. No I am not kidding. That is how nuts rentals are right now. I have great friends who took me to/from the airport each way so it didn't end up being a huge hassle. The guy working the front desk was friendly, quick, easy to work with and personable. Getting through the check in process was very fast but waiting for the rental took a bit of time. I think I waited ~20 minutes after checking in for the car to come back from an oil change. It was freshly washed though, so that was nice. I don't think they checked the car thoroughly before handing it off to me because I found a Reese's Peanut Butter Cups wrapper between the seats (it was hidden but grossed me out & made me hungry at the same time when I found it). Plus, there were some fishing hooks hooked into the trunk which my friend was able to pry off. Returning the car was even more simple, just returned the keys and I was good to go! Was my experience perfect? No, but it wasn't bad in any way and I would recommend and rent from this location again.
