I have had two experiences in the last month with enterprise, one with going to my dad's funeral to New York, needing a safe drive and then the other with car troubles and needing the car to get to work and they have been absolutely amazing and the cars have been wonderful. Absolutely Terrible Experience - Avoid This Location! Wanted to give 0 stars but can't. I reserved a vehicle with Enterprise to drive out of state, only to arrive at the office and be told that the car I reserved was not available. The front desk associate claimed she tried to call me, but the only call I ever received from them was a voicemail confirming my reservation--not warning me that my car wouldn't be there. She then told me they might have a car the next day at 2 PM. I explained that this wouldn't work because I had to be at my destination to sign a lease before 3 PM, and the drive was five hours. As we were talking, a customer returned a vehicle, and she briefly gave me hope--only to immediately take it away because one of the back windows was shattered. Her next suggestion? Maybe a car would be available before 5:30 PM since returns usually come in around then, and they would give me a call. Well, surprise--no one ever called. So I went back to the office after 5 PM, only to find that the associate I originally spoke to was gone. I asked another employee if any vehicles were available. At first, he said no, but then noticed that they had a truck. However, after checking the system, he told me it was already reserved. And at that point, I couldn't help but think--why not just give me the truck and tell the next person their reservation wasn't available, just like they did to me? Enterprise completely failed to honor my reservation, wasted my time, and left me stranded without a solution. If you actually need a reliable rental car, I'd highly recommend taking your business elsewhere. From speaking with the staff there, it seems as this is a common practice as they were unbothered by my situation and did not offer anything to compensate, even as an Enterprise member. At least Hertz took ownership and offered me a discounted rental when they were at fault for a bad rental experience I had previously. And I'm not even a member with Hertz. read more

This is my second occasion to rent from this specific location in Hilltop off Laskin. My first time was uneventful enough that I can't recall, so let's call it an A OK experience. Second time around four years later now has State Farm using Enterprise again. I prefer Hertz and had an option, however I did not pushback when Enterprise called to set me up. Everything was handled perfectly on the phone. This seems typical with them overall the years. The front end is great and the execution lackluster. Communication when arriving at the shop was not clear and shop called. Reservation had to be moved from the closer Enterprise location due to no cars. My reservation was placed two weeks in advance. Around 35-40 minutes later they picked me up. The agent was dressed professionally and drove back to the Laskin store safely. Paperwork was quickly taken care of and the young man was friendly. You will need drivers license and major credit card to put a $50 deposit down. The office although tiny was neat in appearance. From what I understand stand this is the highest volume location in Virginia Beach. It serves the tourist during the Summer. The agent asked if a Nissan Altima suited me, which it did as comparable to my mid size. The 2017 car with around 25k was waiting outside the door and was ready after a walk over. The car had several scrapes and scratches noted, especially to the front spoiler. Most notable was the filthy front of the car. It was caked with debris and bugs. Since the tags were New York I assume someone just made the trip. It even had feathers on it...WOW! Did this car go through a chicken coop? I mentioned this and it was pretty much ignored. The interior overall was clean. However, the carpet wear on the driver side was unsightly. Now into my second day driving the operation of the car is fine. All mechanics work and its comfortable. My top priority after all is that the car has no issues on the road. The vehicle will be dropped off today. I cannot hide my disappointment for delivery of the car in its dirty condition. The agent should have asked if I had time to send back to wash, ball dropped. Also poor communication on what would occur at drop off. Finally with the change of the reservation to Laskin this added time for my pick up. 2.5, rounding down. read more

I don't want to give this place a rating because at this point it's just trash. I wrote a review stating the disdain for the customer service and quality of vehicles I received. In the previous review the "business manager" said to email them with the information needed and I did. I have yet to hear anything back from anyone about anything after providing the information requested. What's the point of asking for something you have no intention on fixing. We had to rent a car on short notice and went to the Laskin Road location without reservation. The two women serving customers did a splendid job. It was close to the end of the day, and the shop was quite busy. Both acted professionally, addressing all customers and calming those nervous about not getting a car that day. We received a car, a super pick-up truck, their last car in no time, and were on our way. I commend Raven and her associate, who ran the shop on 22 December, for a job well done. I am a corporate rental customer and have rented from this location on almost weekly bases for about two years. While a gentleman named Dexter Carter was the branch manager, this place ran like a swiss watch. I was in and out in less than 5 minutes. Dexter was promoted (rightfully so) and a new person took over recently. The customer service has gone from an A+ to an F-. I made a reservation for a full-size car to be picked up at 10:30, arrive there on time and I had to wait for 25 minutes while the young man helping me tossed a Nerf football in the air, talk to the other people, slipped a customer before me, had to check my ID - although the other person in the office told him that he knew me and I rented cars there on weekly basis - if this is their company policy, that is fine. Still, he partially finished my paperwork and moved on to someone else. I am done with this location and Enterprise - the store manager called me to find out what happened. Didn't really have much to say other than "is there anything I can do to make you happy". Closing the door after the horse has left the barn is useless. I truly miss dealing with the last manager, Dexter Carter. He was an asset to Enterprise. read more

I've used this Enterprise location for the past 10 years and have always been treated well by the previous employees which are no longer there. First they didn't have my car ready like it was supposed to have been and they offered a truck instead, ok, I have a class A CDL so no buggy but I have a post office box for all my mail, my drivers license has the PO Box as my address for enough years I can't remember how long and I went paperless with all of my bills 2 years ago. When I went to pick up a rental this time I was told I needed 2 proofs of physical address! Seriously?! The kid behind the counter said I should pull up my Navy Federal Credit union account and show him my address from the statement!! What the hell?!! Oh and my statements have my PO Box address on them so that's not acceptable. After 30 minutes I left due to the absurdity of it all and I will NEVER use them again. read more

I used to rent from them all the time. The management that was there before always went above and beyond. I asked them to give me a ride home once and three of them all looked around like nobody wanted to do it and finally someone was told to do it. I usually would walk as i live pretty close but it was raining. Another time i went to use my points they didnt work. The car smelled bad and carpet was dirty. Then they gave me a car with two different license plates from two different states.....Where did the old staff go...Id rather follow them read more

Enterprise advertises they will pick you up but this system doesn't work. Had a reservation for an 8:15am pickup but nobody showed and no call. Go ahead and call the branch and they were not aware even though my reservation email confirmed the 8:15am time. They rush over and pick me up (never an apology) and then I sit and wait for the car to be prepped/cleaned. An hour after I was supposed to be picked up the car isn't even ready. Doesn't make sense. Staff blame it on staffing, don't apologize or even acknowledge any of this. Won't be doing business with Enterprise again! read more

Sometimes it's not about getting it perfect the first time around - it's about how an error is handled. I needed a car while mine was getting fixed. They picked me up and dropped me off which is nice. The original car I was given had been smoked in despite the No Smoking sticker. I didn't immediately notice it due to driving with windows down as it was a nice day. It took me most of the day before I was able to return. Enterprise provided a new car (upgraded for free as a comparable car wasn't available), a full free tank of gas in the new car, and no charge on the 1/4 tank I'd used. The employees were accomodating and apologetic for my hassle of having to return. read more

The manager with the dark hair blue dreamy eyes was a$$hole, we called a week prior and talked to DAVID, from coming to VA (from CA) and they did not tell us out of state persons needed a credit car to rent a card. Enterprise May 25, 2018 1877 Laskin Road Virginia Beach, VA. 23454 To whom it may concern: I was on a business trip 250 miles from home and it happened. On Thursday, May 17th at 4:30 PM in the pouring rain, my new truck lost its transmission on I-264 only 1.5 miles from Birdneck Road in Virginia Beach, VA. My destination was the convention center a mere 1 mile from where I located. A call to Ford got me a tow to Beach Ford. That was easy. However, finding a vehicle to off load my equipment to, was not that easy. It was a busy week and there were not any vehicles at all at the Beach Ford Enterprise location. After calling 2 more Enterprise locations in the area, I found Chris McDonnell. He was a management trainee at the location on Laskin Road. Even though it was approaching 6 PM he found a MiniVan for me, picked me up, escorted me to their location where I filled out the paperwork. I needed to call him Friday because Ford Motor Company was requiring that the rental vehicle had to be a Ford product. He search high and low but could only find an F-150 pick up truck, but the back was not covered. I had medical equipment that could not be exposed to the weather. I felt he went beyond what anyone else would do. He called me back a couple of times to follow up. Since the transmission wouldn't be repaired until the beginning of the next week, I called him to let him know I was driving the van back to Maryland and would return as soon as Beach Ford let me know the repair was complete. When I returned it at 8 AM on Tuesday, he checked me thru quickly and had someone drive me to Beach Ford to get my repaired truck back. He made my extremely stressful situation bearable. I appreciate the effort he went thru to assist me in my time of need. It nice to know that there are people that care. Enterprise I thank you for having him. I thank Chris for being there for me! OMG!!!! If you can avoid this location( 1845 Laskin Rd) do so at all costs. I can't even begin to describe all the customer service issues, serious issues, that occurred this morning starting with the guy who picked me up, to the manager who refused to tell me her name. First the guy through a temper tantrum when I refused to give him my credit card. (This is an insurance claim). Then stormed into the building and told his manager I told him to F*** Off. Which I absolutely did not!! Then while I am in the car texting my insurance agent, she came out to my car three times to lecture me on their policies and also yelled I wasn't going to use profanity with her employees because she is his superior and she takes up for her employees at all costs. My response "I NEVER said that to him!" in which she said she didn't believe me and she doesn't need my business nor my insurance's business!! , That I could get out of the car and find another rental company. I could go on and on but they don't even deserve my efforts. Wise up Enterprise, Teach your managers and employees what customer serve is and that customers are the ones that provide income for their pay!! read more

Go elsewhere for your rental because Laura, the manager at the Laskin Road location is horribly unprofessional and rude. I had a reservation for July 1 and Laura called on the Sat prior to confirm, which was fine. After I confirmed that I was renting the vehicle, Laura asked whether I would be using a debit card or a credit card to pay. I have used Enterprise for YEARS and never had this question, I but I answered,"credit card" to which Laura replied "good." (I wondered why this is good but did not ask.) Then Laura says that Monday mornings are very busy and I need to be prepared to wait since my reservation is for first thing in the morning. It seems odd for Laura to say this, but I say, "that's fine." Since I planned to use a free upgrade (which I have never used before), I asked Laura to confirm that there would be vehicles available for me to upgrade into. Then Laura starts yelling, "I DON'T KNOW. I DON'T KNOW WHAT'S GONNA BE AVAILABLE. I DON'T KNOW WHAT WE'RE GONNA HAVE!" Rather than lose my temper, I asked for the manager and expressed dismay when Laura told me she was the manager. I ended up driving my own car. read more

Have used this place twice and 1st time was great no issues but tried today and got turned down for a rental for my ID having a broken piece off of it. Would have no problem with that if they had not accepted it the time before with no issue and it was the same ID card. Understand following procedure but that was kind of a bummer that they were being so up right about just a small part of a card being broken off but all information still is visible. read more

Follow up: So this location also loves to blame customers that there was a bumper damage when the car was towed away. Guess what Laura, don't leave paper traces with your name and number on it with documentation sent. Also since the car was part of the crime scene, you literally tampered with police evidence and have the audacity to charge me in addition to 500.00 I already paid for having insurance for my collateral pay. Guess what Laura I took a video of the car being towed away and your tow guy did the damage to the bumper. I'm not liable for it so don't be sending paperwork without video proof that I did additional damage to the car that doesn't even match up what I turned in with my insurance company. DO NOT RENT from this location. The GM is rude and doesn't know what she's talking about. read more

I recently had to have my car repaired after a tornado blew out all of my windows. I had to get a rental car at very short notice (as in 10 minutes). My insurance company also took a lot longer to fix the car than expected, and by a lot longer I mean 2 whole weeks. This Enterprise location was accommodating, sympathetic, and reliable. Dexter, in particular, is fantastic at his job. Super knowledgeable, personable, and makes you feel like a friend. Definitely recommend this location. read more

~~ Review # 200 ~~ Great Amazing Rentals I've been a frequent costumer at this particular Enterprise as I've rented over 7 different times with them in the past 6 months. It's nice that they are in HillTop area and within walking distance from my house. So far I've worked with Tory, Justin and Kristen here at this location and all of them are top notch employees that work hard to make each visit extra special. I've rented Toyota's, Buick's, Volkswagen's, and Nissan's here at this location. The only few complaints are that when they wash the cars they get the waxy residue on the windshield and it can make for some REALLY dangerous driving if it happens to rain while you're in the car. I've made it a point to know use glass cleaner both inside and out on the care before I take it on any long drives. Rain-X also works wonders on these windshields too. I've only ever had one really bad smelling car where I had to use an air freshener, yet even then the stench still cut through even my pine-tree freshener. I've also make it a routine to check my phone charger in the cigarette outlet before I drive off the lot. I made this HUGE mistake when I rented in Florida and was half-way to Key West when I realized it didn't work and I couldn't charge my phone. Sucks when you use your phone for GPS navigating like I do. **Overall other than those few things that I mentioned you will be happily satisfied renting your next car from Enterprise. This team is top notch and very professional about their jobs. read more

I have dealt with enterprise a lot. This one is giving the other ones a bad name as this is the only one I can is awful! We reserved a car was told it would be here at noon. I understand with flooding that they are overbooked and such but a generalized email to all that got a response saying their car was reserved should warrant a email or call saying they will not be able to deleiver. I believe this is why they are crowded and bombed with phone callls as no one is taking time to let other customers who have reservations know there are no longer cars able. read more

This place looks like a car rental business, but it isn't. It is a cartoon of a car rental business. I made an online reservation for 12:00 noon. Then I also called to confirm. I was informed that don't worry cars will be available when you arrive. Well, on arrival, after calls and online requests, yes you guessed it-- no car for me. After waiting close to forty minutes, a scraped up scratched car was presented. Looking the car over I noticed that the license plates were expired. Another twenty minutes later and proper plates were located. The people who work at this place are in a fog, have little input and show no concern. Drive by this place! Don't stop. When I was in a wreck and my vehicle was totaled, my insurance company got me a car through enterprise on Laskin road.... IT WAS GOD AWFUL. They failed to mention to me on four separate occasions that I was going to have charges put on my credit card... Two of them were things that I had specifically told them and signed on paper that I did NOT want to pay for (ie. roadside insurance and other amenities.) Three weeks after I had made all of my payments to enterprise, I randomly have a $25 charge on my credit card from them. Last I had spoken to them, I had nothing else to pay for and this was all done and over with... Nothing else to pay for. Multiple times I had called and asked what was going on and had to speak to three different people in one phone call and none of them said the same thing. They don't work together and help customers get accurate information. They also don't communicate with customers to inform them of what is happening with their rental or their payments. I'm extremely frustrated. There are plenty of other enterprise's to rent from in Virginia Beach. The one on Witchduck is MUCH better and much more professional. I will not be using the enterprise on Laskin again. The only reason they go two stars is because they were friendly. read more

I needed a car for a week while mine was in the Charles Barker Toyota Body Shop. I had called to be sure they had one reserved for me but when I got there they said that the Ok hadn't come through. After calling my agent I was given a car - more correctly, a monster. I had asked for a small car as that is what I have. The outside was totally covered with bird poop, the car smelled, the ac was horrible and the seats were sticky. When I returned it I found out that it got 14 miles to the gallon. May God help me to never have to live through this again. read more

I took advantage of the weekend special and rented a compact car. The couple ahead of me got the last compact. I was offered a Dodge Charger for the same price. On top of that, they picked me up and took me back to my hotel. I have rented from Enterprise across the country, and this experience was typical. The service is great, the price is right, and the employees always go out of their way to make you feel like their most important customer. I cannot imagine renting a car from anyone else. read more

I appreciate this Enterprise location is good for the Great Neck area. And they do a good job getting the paperwork done and getting me a car. However each time I visit I am struck with the high turn over rate. Between visits the entire staff has turned over. I have been going for 10 years or more but there are constantly new people. Everyone is friendly and get the job done but the staff is always dressed very informally, sometimes sloppy and the physical office is ALWAYS dirty. And I mean always dirty. I mentioned it this week and they said there was some construction underway right now, but I am talking for years this office is always dirty and the staff is always dressed unprofessionally. It's almost like they are a small office and the presentation of the office is not important to them. I am still able to get a car and get the service offered. read more
