Total Failure. I reserved a full-size SUV from the Laskin Rd VA location one week in advance of a trip I'm making. The website said a Tahoe, Expedition or similar would be provided. On the Thursday (4-16-2026) before the 4 PM pickup I was called to advise no vehicle was available. So, the late afternoon before expecting to leave on a trip the next morning I am hit with no rental vehicle. TOTAL FAILURE. This has happened before with Enterprise. I rarely use Enterprise these days, but I want to provide a shout out to this branch for turning around a poor start and finishing strong. I have been a consistent customer of this branch for over 10 years. Our family rented a Chrysler Pacifica van for a week to move my daughter into college. The national staff was great! The pricing even better with a promo applied. The confirmation hit my inbox. When time to pick up there was confusion due in part because I was originally going to pick up myself as opposed to their staff pick up. I changed this by calling hours ahead and talked to the local office. However as the time rolled by 430 PM I was concerned and as it approached 5 which was closing time I was panicked! After 20 minutes of attempting to reach them I did and a driver picked me up and staff remained overtime to take care of the paperwork. The van was not quite tidy for my taste and was rectified. Enterprise policy is return the gas as you found it which was empty. I don't care for that policy. However I do love the unlimited mileage policy. It saved me hundreds. The van performed extremely well and although not a hybrid model was exceptionally good on fuel. The last day there were onboard navigation issues and it was Sunday. The national staff documented. The return was easy and a sizable discount was applied for onboard computer issues once staff confirmed. Also a discount code was provided for my next reservation. 3.5 rating and roundup. The overall was strong enough to remain at a 4 stars and the staff truly made the difference. read more

The second time we made reservations they called while we were on the way 18 mins before pickup time to say they didn't have vehicle!!! My daughter and I rented from this location this past weekend, unfortunately she left an item in the car when we returned in late Sunday. We then called first thing Monday morning when they opened, spoke with the manager and asked him to call us that they located the item. I decided to stop on my way into work.... After being given the runaround for over 30 minutes being told to go look in the lot for the car myself, and receiving the worst customer service ever.... The same employee walks out with the item pulled from a drawer where it had been hidden all along. When I said, are you really serious? He asked what my problem was, my item was returned, right? It's the point had I not confronted them in person and been very very persistent they had planned to intentionally steal from a young child. Very dishonest!!! Enterprise has severely gone down hill lately. I've been using the VB location and never had any issues until the past 1.5 years. Their cars are NEVER truly cleaned, dirty window, rugs, seats. And the past 2 times I've made reservations, called several days before pick up date and confirmed the car would be available. Lo & Behold we're sorry, we have no cars on the lot. WHAT??? How can you be a corporate rental car location and not have the availability to call another location and have a car brought over. Their response, "Sorry, nothing is available". They leave you on hold for over 20 minutes while they "Check to see what they have" hoping you just hang up in frustration. Although the customer reps are polite, they are stonewalling you with no reason why you can't get your RESERVED VEHICLE. Very frustrating experience. read more

The store/employees were GREAT. The shuttle driver was friendly and drove safely and when I walked in I was immediately greeted by both employees and the process was thorough but quick. The car itself, not so much. Seemed to be in good working order but smelled of cigarette smoke the second I opened the door despite their "clean car promise" and extra Covid sanitation. Overall just didn't feel clean. I drove the car home and ended up using the "extra wipe" they stick in the cup holder and was pretty disappointed. Came in today, on Christmas Eve with all necessary documents/cards etc. to be told I can't rent due to me having a DC license. I just rented a vehicle from this exact location in October 2024. Apparently the previous employee "overlooked it last time" and I would need a credit card to rent. I've never owned a credit card. I had my debit card and as I mentioned, never was an issue 2 months ago. I'm very understanding of these polices but when it falls on the company, I feel the customer should come first. This was the only way of me seeing my family this holiday season and Sierra or Ciara (not sure how she spells it, no name tag worn) was very unhelpful and insensitive about the situation. She actually ended up taking another customer in the middle of me talking to her. She was unprofessional. She had told me over the phone, on the PREVIOUS day, what to bring and never stated VA license. I tried to offer switching to my boyfriend as the renter but she was very nasty about it. With constant repetition, tears, begging and pleading nothing was done. The man who was working with her (didn't catch his name but I'm sure you all can look at the shift schedule for 12/24 @2:30pm) was a little more helpful but still with me explaining through tears why I should receive this rental and how I've brought ADDITIONAL DOCUMENTS. He hands my ID back to me. This has caused me to NOT be with my family on Christmas due to error on this location's end. Enterprise has disappointed me and their customer service. If I could give this location 0 stars I would. I also see there aren't a lot of positive reviews for this location. read more

They overbook cars. Do not use this location if you are looking to drive a specific car. We called to confirm the day prior and when we got here they tried to switch us to "an upgrade". The sales team was rude and didn't provide a good reason for the switch. They said "someone else reserved the car weeks ago". I made a reservation on Saturday. I was not able to pick it up. Understandable l. I was sent to this location and told I had one reserved , Then was called back and told I had nothing but could pick it up on Monday. Or get transferred to a different location ( which was already closed!!! Why offer to transfer me to a closed location?!?!) Monday came and I was told I could not pick it up at all because it was too late. Dumbest thing I've ever heard. Completely defeats the purpose of a reservation. This photo is of me walking after waiting a half hour and being told that my driver was on the way I booked my driver over two months in advance and called the day before today to confirm that they would be here at 8 o'clock due to an appointment I had at nine needless to say I ended up walking from checkered flag to enterprise less than 700 feet in the Half hour I've been waiting of my driver already being late I spoke with Michelle x2 on the phone who didn't seem to care when I came back to checkered flag the lady who had checked me in and saw me walking down the highway said enterprise showed up as you started walking before you hit the highway did they pick you up I said no they told me to walk instead the lady from checkered flag is following up with management because checkered flag made a six month pregnant woman walk the highway instead of sending the driver where he should've went the driver showed up knew I was walking and still decided not to pick me up 10 /10 would not recommend The business was not ready when I got there upon walking even agitated I tried to stay calm and I watched three workers talk amongst themselves instead of just getting me to my vehicle after being already late and having to walk after being told and confirmed for months and weeks and days at a time that this ride would be ready I really hope they can get it together I will not be returning after I am done with this rental I would rather walk home then do the humiliation that Enterprise as a business has put me through as a customer. 0-5 stara read more

Great experience. I was reluctant when I was trying to find scratches and dings on the vehicle with the agent because the car had just been washed and was wet. She assured me she knew the vehicle well. She pointed out stuff I would have never noticed. They had a record of every little ding within the circle they use to track damage. Only mistake I made was not locking in the price the week before. I wouldn't have been penalized for canceling and by the time I made the reservation it cost me an extra $100. This is far most the most unprofessional enterprise I've ever encountered. I wish I could give "0" stars. They set my mom up on numerous occasions overcharged her & provided horrible service the manager Maria called the police like we was a threat when she was the one acting unprofessional to be a "MANAGER" they stated the contract didn't match the card of the driver however the same card was used for months and there was never a problem. As a business if the card didn't match the person on the contract the card shouldn't have never been used. Enterprise didn't have an issue taking the money and made me my mom and my 5 year old daughter stand in the cold when it was their fault. We didn't come off to be a threat or did we cause any harm. They are very racist and you can tell from the treatment we received. We decided we would head to the beach for the weekend in our Class A RV - reserved a spot at the Ft Story base campground, for a Friday evening arrival, stay Saturday and leave Sunday morning. We knew we would need a rental car, since driving a big beast like a large motor coach around a resort area is a PAIN, I called Enterprise Rental cars and I made reservations on Thursday before we left (Friday mid afternoon departure) for a Saturday morning pickup, after talking on the phone with a young female (I presume) at the branch of Enterprise located at Virginia Beach Blvd and Witchduck. Explained WHERE we were coming from and when (Saturday morning) we needed the car, what type/size car, asked if we could be assured of pick up from the Ft. Story campgrounds - all was positively confirmed. She asked how we would be paying - I explained that we do not use ANY credit cards, but that we have debit cards. No problem!! Arrived Friday night, settled in and in the morning, I called to confirm that we would be picked up at 11AM for our rental car. "Uh, no. We don't pick up on weekends." HUH? I was told we would be picked up. "No." Crappola. So, I called around for a taxi. "Uh, no. Taxi cabs are not permitted on base." HUH? So, we walked a mile and a quarter to the gate to MEET the taxi. $45 later, we arrive at Enterprise for our car. "Uh, no. You cannot rent a car." HUH? "You have to have a CREDIT card." That wasn't what we were told on the phone. "Sorry." So, we called the taxi back (same guy - he was helpful) and told that it would be a couple of hours. So, we decided to walk to the bus stop and try to catch a bus back to the base. 2 miles later, I was done in. I'm old and mobility challenged. So. We called the taxi back and he told us about another 1/2 hour. $45 later, we got back to the base gate and walked ANOTHER mile and a quarter back to the campground. Needless to say, our day was shot. Thanks a LOT, Enterprise. We will NEVER again use your services. No matter WHAT. read more

I received a charge for $88.83 over a week after my car was returned. After 2+ hours of phone calls I find this charge was due to the tolls I had to take in the car for my job. Now I initially believed these would be handled by the insurance company of the person who hit me and required the rental in the first place. They claimed no responsibility and said that enterprise is to notify people when they receive the car that they can place their personal EZpass in the rental during that period (news to me as I was told to never transfer the pass). When I called the location o received the car from to tell them the agent never mentioned this and was over an hour late to drop the car at the auto shop, their response was "well we don't know when you're going to use a toll" and that they only mention that at airport drop offs. They accepted 0 responsibility when all they had to do was mention this at drop off and I would've moved my pass as my job would've reimbursed me if I had a statement to show them. As a new mom trying to get back to the working world this was a very disheartening response and a fee I wasn't prepared to pay among all the other bills; all because an employee didn't mention this at drop off. For a rental I only had to get because someone else hit me. Poor customer service when calling in and just not a great look for the company to blame everyone else. read more

Can't give this location more than five stars but wish I could !!! They were all so professional and considering they came to get us from body shop cars all waiting for us. These guys are top-notch when it comes to customer service. Any questions that I had about my bill and paperwork they were willing and able to answer. I rented an 8 passenger van from this location and they have many other models to choose. The rental process was simple and painless but I definitely recommend you reconsider getting the damage insurance they offer because an unexpected scratch to your rental could leave your wallet hurting. This Enterprise is a quick walk from Checkered Flag Auto Body Shop, so it was convenient for me when I was getting work done to my car. The staff here is crazy! They are so overboard on customer service that you feel like you are in a Saturday Night Live sketch. I mean really, they were so over the top with their friendliness I thought it was a joke. Everytime I go home to Va. Beach, this is where I rent my car from. It's less than a mile from my grandmother's house and about 1 mile from the hotel I stay it. Saying this means, I never have to wait long for them to come and pick me up. They are always prompt and the drivers are ALWAYS very courteous. I When the driver picked me up we had a wonderful conversation regarding the Texas A & M shirt I had on. He was very nice. Once I got to the location, the young man the checked me in was very helpful also. He even took me outside and showed me a choice of 3 cars to pick from. Jennifer is horrid. How in the world does she keep her job and the staff around her put up with her??? On Tuesday, March 3rd, 2020, Charles Barker Collision rented me a vehicle at Enterprise on 5329 VA Beach BLVD store because they were on their 3rd attempt to fix my car. I had requested an SUV. A very nice gentleman from Enterprise picked me up and delivered me to your store and I waited for someone to assist me. A girl was barking orders and was really rude to the other staff there (a very young gal which I later found out was "Jennifer" who obviously felt empowered to push everyone else around). I was thankful I did not have to have her wait on me and a very nice black gentleman assisted me. He asked me to provide two contact numbers to add to your records. I told them I only have one. The gentleman stated they were required to put two in the system. I repeated to him that I only had one number. I only have my cell and do not have a work number because I work out of my house. Jennifer interjected herself into the conversation and barked at me "YOU CAN'T RENT A CAR WITHOUT TWO NUMBERS", we need a second number. So I said fine, 757-123-4567, making it obvious that I can provide them with a second number if they need it for their records, but I wasn't about to be dishonest and just make up a number I didn't have (that wasn't this obvious). They said it had to be a real number and I responded that I will give them Charles Barker number. They said I couldnt use that number but a family member who could get a hold of me if they needed to contact me. I do no have a family member that could get a hold of me (I live alone) unless by my cell phone because I'm military and do not have any family in the local area. I then told them to hold on, that I would contact Charles Barker (since they have a working relationship with this Enterprise and they were paying for the rental) and let them know what is going on and they could handle it. It took me awhile to get ahold of my adjuster at Charles Barker and he said I could use his cell phone number as the second number. I went back into the Enterprise store and Jeremy Hostetter was standing there and appeared to want to talk to me. I told him the adjuster was willing to give them his cell phone and since he had my Lexus SUV and was fixing it, he was the best option for getting a hold of me. Jeremy interrupted me and said... "you are a dishonest customer and we will not rent to you. I will have our driver take you back to Charles Barker." To say the least, I was stunned. I tried to tell him that they could use Johny's cell, but he kept repeating that I was this dishonest customer and that he was responsible for the vehicles and that I couldnt be trusted. I have to tell you, I have 29 years in the US Navy, am currently a Navy Captain with a clearance and own over $1M in property. I can be trusted. And this was a pure exaggeration of the situation and what it appeared to me to be was a spiteful way to become offensive instead of having to explain why they were treating a Charles Barker customer like this. And I now understood why Jennifer seemed to 'own' that store because Jeremy seemed to have a 'special' relationship with her and back her abusive behavior. I not only called USAA to put a complaint in because they also use this Enterprise, but I've put a formal complaint in with Charles Barker. It's clear from the other complaints about Jennifer that I'm not the only one that has noticed her caustic behavior. And I guess in the future, I could get a free google phone number that forwards to my cell phone and thereby providing a 'second' phone number to fulfill Enterprise's wishes, but please tell me how this helps with the intent of the policy? You know, not everyone has a spouse and lives locally with family. read more

The best Enterprise branch in Va Beach, and the only one open on Sundays! I reserved a compact and none available when I came to pick it up. I took the upgrade for no additional cost, of course but went back the next day to get a smaller car since I wasn't fond of the car upgrade they gave me. They didn't have a compact available still so they compensated me with a free full tank of gas which means I can return the car with an empty tank. That'$ awe$some, right?! They have accomodated me and went above and beyond to satusfy my need$, to me that's 5-star world-class customer service. A huge shout-out to Ronnie, Erin, Dominique and the rest of Va Beach, Va branch! Oh, and Ronnie offered me something to drink while I was waiting for my ride upon returning the rental. Very convenient, they picked me up from my hotel. I booked a full size car, they ran out of full size cars. I got a free upgrade to a small SUV which worked out perfect. All the staff was courteous and professional. The Airport drop off location is VERY convenient (only a $30 fee). Drive up to the drop off location, grab your luggage and head to the terminal which is only a short walk away. Both this location and the Airport drop off location was hassle free. read more
