I want to say that the folks at the office in Weymouth were delightful. I had a very helpful salesperson. The problem is, the car reeks of awful men's cologne, which I am allergic to. It seems to be coming out of the vents. Is this a normal practice with rental cars? If it is, it needs to stop. Many people cannot tolerate perfumes and colognes. I am nauseous and have a headache after my hour-long commute to work and back each day. It is miserable. I don't have the extra time to bring it back and exchange it. Plus, do they do this with every car? If so, it wouldn't have made a difference. I can't wait to get my car back from the shop. My jacket and clothes stink from this as well and so the smell follows me into my house and work. Awful! read more

I rented a truck as my truck needed to get it's damaged bumper replaced.. I picked up the rental truck that was filthy inside I took the truck home an then to work a for a few days.. I had made a plan for Saturday to tow a small trailer and at one point noticed the rental truck had not trailer hitch.. So now I'm driving a dirty cheap truck with not trailer hitch which is part of the reason I initially got a truck in the first place.. Soni made other arrangements for the trailer to be towed from a friend, problem solved.. Next issue I had was when I picked up the truck the woman suggested extra insurance and I thought will the insurance company was paying for the rental so why not, so as im into like the 8th day of having the truck my credit card gets used by enterprise for extra insurance without my permission.. I called and was on hold for atleast 20 minutes.. spike to a gentleman that said I didn't need the insurance because my own insurance would cover accidents on the rental.. I asked to cancel the extra insurance and he said I would need to come and sign a paper to cancel the extra insurance.. just bad business.. after returning the vehicle I expressed my dissatisfaction with the enterprise company and I would never do business with them again.. a week later I noticed my car is used again from enterprise for $50.. $16 for tolls with a $34 dollar service fee.. so my rental that was covered from my insurance company ended up costing me close to $500.. I do not recommend this company at all!! read more

been a long term customer. have rented many times. this time I was going on vacation to toronto and even made sure to ask if it is good to cross into Canada as never rented a car to go to another country before. Well all is well until go to border and the crossing guards notice the car was over a year expired then ran it and found that registration was over a year past due!!!! Got questioned where I got car and was questioned if I stole car all due to shady business renting unregistered cars! dropped off car and was like ohh sorry but ohh well common practice for rentals???????? They have one of the RUDEST salesman...I wasn't happy with the car I was given and when I tried to exchange it (as I was told I could) I was having a discussion when one of the salesman about getting a slightly bigger car (than the Edge they gave me) WHO WAS NOT A PART OF THE CONVERSATION told me...you get what you get...it's a rental not like you are buying a car. I've rented from this location four times in 2021 and haven't had a problem. My rental vehicles have always been ready at the time I requested, they've been clean and they've been the class I requested. I rented a car from the Weymouth, MA location this week. They so clearly wanted to unload a specific car on the lot. I had signed up for a full-size knowing that this small location might not have a lot of options. Once there, I asked for a low mileage car (less potential for mech problems, no compounded perfume smells) and the agent said he had 2 choices both with about 46k miles (ok not really low but workable.) He said let me show you the Dodge Charger. Being a 64 year old woman, I was a little skeptical about renting a muscle car but I looked. It was smelly, not to mention a gas guzzler, but he volunteered that they could clean it right on the spot. The car just did not fit my needs so I asked about the other car which was a Honda Accord. He got on the phone with his manager (?). This one he told me was due for an oil change. So I asked about the Kia SUV and was willing to upgrade. First, he could not find the keys anywhere. So he called his manager again, and this one was apparently up for sale and could not be rented. The agent could see I was getting a little upset. Then, miraculously, the Honda now only had 23k miles (he had "read the odometer incorrectly") and was not due for an oil change until 29k. I am giving a 2 star review because the car I ended up with was very nice (wish he had just offered me that one from the beginning) and the agent was very polite through the whole transaction as he clearly took direction from his superior. Likely won't use Enterprise again. read more

As a longtime happy Enterprise customer at other locations, I was shocked at the level of unprofessional management running this place. 3 separate calls from 3 different people within a 24 hour period to close out a contract, none of them having a clue the other ones had already called me. Shady communication and purposely avoiding responding to questions via email/in writing, and untimely follow-up at that. Just a mess. I guess that's what's to be expected when you have kids running the place- no regard for proper treatment of a customer and entitled, rude disparaging comments spoken to the customer when simple questions were asked, with common sense business practices ignored. I let this one go for now in terms of funneling up the Corporate chain/BBB call, only for sake of time. I advise anyone who's looking for mature professional service with honest practices paramount, go elsewhere. There's plenty of places on the South Shore that will treat you better. This place is such a scam. I had booked an economy car a few weeks ago it was just for the day. I had the price locked in at $36.12. That also came with unlimited milage. Due to a family crisis I had to cancel the rental for the day. The next week I called back to secure a day to rent an economy car again. This time. The price jumped to approximately$90.00. So it basically tripled in price in just a week. The sales guy I had on the phone told me it was because of demand. So first off your going to screw people because there's more of a demand for the car. So I asked him to book it for the following week. Price was still the same. So I asked about booking it for 2, 3, 4, weeks out. Price still the same. I asked him does that mean people have booked a rental for that far in advance. He hesitated and said no not really. But that was the price they had locked in on there system. What a crock of B.S. there taking full advantage of the huge increase in the price of gas. Knowing people will want an economy car they know they can get pretty much whatever they want. So we all talk about these big oil companies taking advantage of the people needing gas to get back and fourth to work. People that actually use there car for the type of work they do. But it's not just the big oil companies. It's our friendly neibors who are located on our street corners or in well kept areas of your town, city. Advertising there here to help you. Want to fit in your area cause they want to help you out. They are on the same level as anyone who's out to take advantage of anyone during a crisis. GREED,. THE ALMIGHTY BUCK. This is the worst car rental there is I drop my car off at Herb Chambers collision Center they were supposed to show up there at around 1215 1220 I showed up at a place at 12:20 they weren't there I left my car I had to wait for him till 1250 when he showed up guy was ignorant car was unbelievable it still has snow on it which is not safe to drive and I was lied too that he was here on time and I wasn't but he did have my phone number because he called me at around nine or 10 o'clock in the morning to make sure I was going to be there on time after thinking about it a simple apology would be acceptable but lying to my face and being ignorant not gonna happen I sent him back. read more

I want to be very clear here. The location is 4 stars for service. I worked with John and he was charming, sincere, affable and very helpful. The cars themselves though - 2 stars. So, the law of average leaves us with a 3. I was recently in a car accident and as a result, my car has to be in the body shop for a couple weeks. The insurance company is providing me with a rental during that time. The insurance company suggested Enterprise and I went along with it (hindsight, I would have gone with another brand that I have had good experiences and status with). All the employees I've dealt with have been awesome. I worked with Tony at Quincy, Monique through Road Side Assistance and John at Weymouth. All three were phenomenal. My issue lies with the state of the vehicles I've been put into. The first car, a Chevy Malibu, reeked of smoke even though the inside of it was covered in no-smoking stickers. I figured, I'd deal with it as it's a nice enough car. I drove it for one day and came back to the commuter parking lot and the driver front tire was flat as a pancake. I called Enterprise and spoke with Monique who set up roadside assistance through AAA. She told me that it is going to cost me $56 out of pocket for the assistance (grrreat, not having my own car is AWESOME). AAA came out within 15 minutes and put on the spare tire (note to self: learn how to change a flat at some point). I wasn't comfortable driving a car on a spare tire for two weeks, so Monique called ahead to the Weymouth Enterprise location to let them know I wanted to come in and exchange the car. While at the Weymouth location, I worked with John. He was great. All smiles, very helpful, very quick and efficient. The only car they had available on the lot was a bright red Hyundai. I honestly don't car the make and model of what I'm driving, but I expect the cars to be clean and well taken care of. The Hyundai is GROSS. There are stains all over the upholstery, the steering wheel was sticky, the tire pressure is reading low...it's just not a nice ride. And I'm stuck with it for two weeks? I ended up going to the store and buying Armour All cleaning wipes to detail the car myself because it skeeved me out. For the future, I'll stick with that other major brand that I have status with and get myself a better and cleaner ride. read more

So, I needed a rental car over Christmas weekend. I booked it for 10 AM Christmas Eve and returning on Monday the 26th. I have booked rentals numerous times online, no problem. Why, you say, am I booking a rental at a Weymouth Enterprise? Because my husband and I were visiting from CA and my mom has one car and we needed to see my husband's family who live in RI (plus, do you realize you pay an enormous surcharge for the airport rental?). On Christmas Eve, we show up at 10:15. We could have been earlier, but they always seem to glance at the clock when you arrive before your scheduled pick up time. I saunter up to the door and--- locked. What?! As I look around puzzled, I notice a few cars idling in the lot, but they don't look like enterprise cars. Someone gets out and is looking at me, he asks if I am here to rent. I say 'yes.' And he says oh well, we're closed. I was instantly just floored: I said, well I booked online for this time and you're closed? Long story short: they apparently close *AT* 10 AM and, to boot, when the staff leave and lock the door, they can't get back in without special managerial magic. So a number of questions pop into my mind: a) why does their computer system allow bookings for the exact moment when they are supposed to be closing? I know that the Enterprise online system doesn't let you return a car at 6 PM if they shut at 6 PM so why wouldn't this apply to picking up? b) why didn't they inform me of this when I booked? or, why didn't they call me noticing that I haven't picked up my rental? The whole situation was ridiculous. I was seriously pissed because none of the above made any sense. In addition, the guy who was there was nice, but just had this confused I'm-a-total-idiot look on his face. I have to say that his expression and his whole shrugging his shoulders attitude just made me even more angry. Plus, he tried to logic that it was my fault. Like, it's 10:15 (I think it was not even 10:15 btw) and why didn't I come when I booked it (so, it's fifteen minutes after my booking time and you're basically telling me it has been invalided?)? Then, well didn't you notice we closed at 10? (um no, your system allowed me to book it, I didn't see the need to consult your hours) Of course, on the one hand, I did feel badly that it was Christmas Eve, but on the other, it's like well you should have called the people who had reservations if you were going to be out that door at 10 AM. If you're open on Christmas Eve, you should actually be open, don't phone it in. It's my Christmas Eve too and now I can't visit family in Rhode Island because you're looking at me with this blank expression? I found it extremely infuriating. I thought that their staff was unprofessional in questioning why I was there at 10:15. If it had been 3 PM on a Tuesday and I strolled in at 3:15, no one would have blinked. So, now it's a totally different scenario? It was either the idiot who programmed the online system, allowing bookings at the time they close, or the idiots working in the store who couldn't be bothered making sure their customers got their orders before they closed. Anyone who reads my other reviews can see that I almost never give a one star review. I usually give huge leeway in these areas, but this time I just felt that the situation was pathetic. I was lucky to be able to get another rental (after the Hertz or whatever across the street was closed too). I think the lesson I learned is that you can't rely on car rental agencies in the suburbs to be run like the ones at the airport. I needed a car rental for work. I chose Enterprise because they have multiple locations including my hometown in Weymouth and my work location in Hanover. I enjoyed using the online reservation website. It's user friendly and sped up the rental process. I picked up my rental car before work at the Hanover location. The service was fast and efficient. I dropped off my rental at the Weymouth location. The manager forwarded the invoice to my insurance and I'm being reimbursed for part of it. I'm planning several out of state road trips in the spring and summer. I have a compact car and thinking of renting an SUV for travel. Enterprise has many car options to choose from compacts, midsize, SUV. The staff were cordial, friendly and efficient. I'm planning to rent from Enterprise again in the near future. read more

I very rarely take the time to write negative reviews, but like others here, my travel plans were sabotaged last minute by terrible customer service at this particular Enterprise office. On the Wednesday before Thanksgiving, I came to pick up a car I had reserved online AND confirmed by phone AND come in, in person to confirm and offered to pay ahead of time. No, no, not necessary, all set. When I arrived, I was told by a different person that without car insurance (I'm renting because I don't own a car, therefore don't have insurance) I would need a credit card. Fine, but the cc hadn't arrived in the mail and the person on the desk when I had come in earlier had told me that I could bring a money order for $300 in lieu of the cc and would be all set. The guy who was there when I came to borrow the car was unmoved by my emergency, no room to negotiate, and I got the same "I'm not responsible" shrug that Katy W got. So.....I had to scramble out of there with my heart pounding as I ran for the city bus stop, since I had a class to teach in Boston before leaving town, and on the way try to conjure up some kind of way to get to my sister's house in rural Vermont for the family gathering. I'm a staunchly loyal customer when the business cares about their customers, but really have no reason to seek out this kind of treatment. Maybe I expected too much because I'm used to renting from Zipcar - always courteous, customer-focused, and capable of troubleshooting whatever issues might come up. It's more of a hassle to get to the closest Zipcar pickup in Quincy, but well worth it compared to doing business with this office. read more

I walked in and there must have been at least six people waiting to be helped, There was one more person in the office but Dan was helping customers, writing up the contract, bringing the car around and then helping the customers into the car. Horrible. I'm a long time National Car Rental guy. 6 + years and have the highest status with them. So I was excited when I found out that I could rent from a local enterprise (which are affiliated with National) and not have to go to Boston to rent a car when mine was in an accident. Boy was I mistaken. I call ahead and the person tells me it won't be a problem so I decided to drive down. I arrange it with the guy and he then takes my license, and types in a few things and says I'll see you this afternoon. Sweet. Fast forward to when I come back. I hand them my debit card with my license and then inform me that they have to run a credit check and hold on my card. Really? I've rented plenty of times with National Car rental with no problems whatsoever. Apparently these clowns don't know how to inform the customers ahead of time. I should also mention the girl in front of me rents with a debit card that morning and no mention of credit check or deposit? Also, I have used debit cards when renting from national, and have never had a problem with it. I leave disgusted and vow to never go back again. So much for being a 'neighborhood' rental agency. There is a reason I never rent from enterprise as a seasoned business traveler. This just proves it. Then to top it off, I called to speak to a manager and I was transferred to the clueless sales person I spoke with initially. Who I hang up on only to get the manager to call me back 15 minutes later. Really? I dealt with Hertz some time ago down the street and had a great experience. BRAVO! I recently went through the Honda airbag recall and was honestly surprised at how easy and pleasurable Weymouth Honda along with Enterprise car rentals in Weymouth made the process. Since the parts were not going to be in for a few months they arranged a rental car through Enterprise. Four of us were at Honda for rentals and it was raining buckets outside. They drove us to the Enterprise office in Weymouth and a designated specialist (Dan) was waiting with cars in the lot and papers in hand. Although they had several cars to choose from, they were extremely accommodating to peoples needs. Several times they had staff out in the rain, prepping the cars, and several times clients decided against the one offered and asked for special requests. Without ANY of the staff make a discouraging comment or even a roll the eyes, they coordinated with other Enterprise offices to see if a certain type of car was available now or would be in the future. I was truly amazed at the professionalism exhibited. The paperwork was quick and the cost was free. That experience alone would have been worth a good review, but then I had an UNBELIEVABLY UNFORTUNATE, TOTALLY EMBARRASSING EVENT HAPPEN when I was about to drive the car back for my fixed Honda Fit....I couldn't find the keys!! I don't know many places that would have been so understanding about my predicament. Honda waited 4 DAYS until I found the keys and NEVER CHARGED ME FOR THE EXTRA DAYS RENTAL! Although thoroughly humiliated, I was very impressed and thankful to the crew at Weymouth Honda and Enterprise. This was the best rental experience I have ever had! I needed a rental car last minute and having never rented a car on my own before I was a little nervous about the process. Dan helped me every step of the way and made sure I was able to get my rental on time. Pricing was fair ($33/day for a compact car) considering the Hertz down the street was almost twice as much. When I went to pick up my car from repairs at the dealer I was able to leave my rental at the dealer and enterprise went out to pick it up, which was really convenient. Also, since I didn't actually have to return my rental in person I was not able to get a print out of my final bill. I called enterprise and Dan immediately sent me my bill via email which was extremely helpful. My only negative is that I wish I would have known that enterprise will pick you up when you are first renting the car (I walked to the office from work but would've liked the ease of the pickup). Dan, the manager, is always a real pleasure to deal with and he works very hard to help meet our businesses' demanding and changing needs. We now go out of our way geographically to rent from this particular branch.
