Thank you for the reply yet this morning he treated me the same way and then informed because he feels I'm rude that he would assist me I had to call the Lancaster Avenue site in Wilmington DE and they just kept saying they were sorry and then stated tomorrow 3/15/23 maybe they would I have a car and then told me if they did it would only he between times I could not be there they put on hold for 32 minutes it's and yes I stayed on hold. Then someone named Manny got on and said my staff said you where rude and I did acknowledge being a tad irate upset frustrated and statede the he was supposed to have called yesterday and he said no he wasnt, and keep trying to explain and he was like yeah I'm not renting you a car today tomorrow or any other day. He went on to say I'm putting something in the system so no Enterprise will rent you a car and I called two other ones today and both of them stated no cars or I would have pay them to bring me the car as is it out of the limits for driving a car to car shop. Manny made the statement not once three "people like me don't deserve to rent cars". I need to understand "people like me " means. I so appalled with everything I had to call state farm and make them get a rent a car which they did with another rent a car company. I truly wish Manny and his staff never has to go through I went through being treated like a less then of human being. I asked Mannt for his last name and his bosses name and he stated no you don't need either started to laugh wished me good luck with not getting my car finished and then before hanging up on me did the bbbyyyeee like yesterday. This was amazingly convenient. Daniel picked me up from my house at 11:30 and I was home with the rental car by 11:45! I didn't even have to go into the shop, he had everything prepped on the iPad for me to review and emailed me a quick summary. Very friendly and through. A surprisingly pleasant experience. I rented a car from here for 5 days. Long story short, One of the men assisting me tell me the vehicle smells like weed and it's an additional 150 charge to my card. I ask if some one could give a 2nd opinion.(silly me I should have asked for manager) another guy goes out and I follow. The window is down and he leans in for a sniff. Don't smell anything I guess. So he opens the door climbs inside pause and said "yea it smells like it. "How much did he charge you?" 150 we can charge you 75" I'm not surprised they are a team. I reply I will never come here again Why make a deal with something you smell sir? And instead of me look like the mad black women bcus I was damn sure MAD. I allowed them to charge me the 75. And went about my day. He told me to have a great day after trying to ruin my day with that nonsense! Its make me never want to rent from a enterprise ever again. And tell my people the same. I have been a regular customer at this location and have always been impressed by the service and friendliness of the team. Unfortunately, the recent management staff changes have not been a positive move for this location. The staff starting with Manager, Melvin is cold and indifferent. I am used to being picked up around 7:30 -- 7:45 in the morning, to which now they areb refusing to do so. They tell you cars are unavailable despite making reservations in advance. Arranged pick up at 2:00 PM, called to remind at 1:30 and was told that I need to come in. This locations is going downhill...fast! read more

I'm so disappointed that Enterprise chose to throw me away as a 13 year customer due to their poor customer service and inability to work creatively in a weird situation. I rented a car through my insurance due to damage, and when I picked up the rental car, it smelled faintly of cigarettes, which I attributed to the associate, Maria, who delivered the car. No big deal, should fade out if I had the windows open on the way to my office. We joked about turning the heat up and having the windows open (it's rainy today). I took the car, had a smooth drive to work and thought no more. As I left work later in the day, I noticed the car now REEKED of cigarettes, and I pulled over to get my phone out and call them to see if I could switch the car. As I grabbed the phone from the passenger side, I noticed a huge crack on the passenger upper windshield! My heart sank, but I called the location and the employee Daniel was helpful until the moment I told him about the crack, whereupon he immediately switched to a humiliating and aggressive diatribe about how "he's going to hold me directly responsible", and he "couldn't help me at all." It was impossible to get a word in edgewise, but I told him I would bring it in and could we figure something out? When I arrive, I am put to the screws by both employees, Daniel and a manager type (Jim?), who both indicated that because I didn't see the crack when I picked up the car, I must have done it on purpose. Daniel even went so far as to insinuate that I'm blind ("I can see it, he can see...not sure why you can't."), repeat that he's going to "Hold me responsible, no matter what!", and generally be unhelpful and rude He even wanted me to get in the car and show me how wrong I was. I'm 5'9, and he's 6'2 - I pointed out that perspective and sight are subjective, but it made no difference. When Maria finally returned, her helpfulness from the morning was gone, and no one offered any kind of solution or compromise. I was basically ignored for 45 minutes while I worked with my insurance company to resolve the situation. I was polite, I was honest, and I have no reason not to step up and take care of something if I was responsible for it. I believe there was a crack already that was invisible, and due to the heat inside the car and the cold outside, it manifested while the car sat in the lot. Did I do that? No. Did that matter when it came to the fine print - still no. No one cared if I have been renting cars there for years. No one wanted to help me or get me into another car on a cold rainy night. They only wanted to be right and they only wanted to blame me, instead of working with me to find a solution. The point isn't the money. The point is the attitude. I'm no one to them, and apparently, I never was. I'm so, so disappointed, and I will never be returning to this, or any ERAC ever again. Stay far, far away.Thanks for the lovely walk home. read more

I had a horrible experience at this location. There was poor communication during rental period and Covid-19 policies are not effectively in place. The manager Dan was unprofessional, discourteous, and dismissive. I would not recommend this location. read more

I picked up my reservation on Thursday and was in and out in 20 minutes! The staff was courteous and professional. Extremely POOR customer service. No effective communications whatsoever from anyone that works there!

I have always used Enterprise and have never had a problem until this past weekend. My experience was so bad that I am calling my attorney today to consider filing a lawsuit against Enterprise and Melvin the site manager at this location. Being told 3 different things by 3 different Enterprise Reps is unacceptable as is the POOR customer service I received. Despite having had a reservation and being told a debit card would be no problem, it apparently was because he refused to rent to me despite my ability to not only prove who I was, and having enough money to cover the rental 10 times over all because I could not produce a paper utility bill - all of my banking is done online through my credit union. I produced my mortgage statement, but that wasn't good enough, I produced my annual sewer bill from the county but that wasn't good enough. I also offered to show him my monthly health insurance bill - but again that wasn't good enough because it wasn't on "his list." What would happen if my car had broken down while I was out of state and all I have is a debit card but no utility bills? I couldn't rent a vehicle through Enterprise to get home? With the fact that the whole country is going towards online banking, bill pay and paperless statements to make one's life easier, I cannot believe this would come back to bite me for simply trying to rent a vehicle! The 1st manager on the phone said if Melvin "felt comfortable renting to me he could". Melvin decided not to and refused to look at my online bank pay or my paid cell phone bill confirmation. He refused to look at my profile on my company website proving I am the President & CEO of a million dollar company that mind you, works with thousands of business owners and is active with every Chamber in New Castle County. I actually think he did not rent to me because I am white, and he wasn't. There could be no other reason for him not to work with me. Any other customer service agent would have bent over backwards to assist me and try to get me cleared through their "corporate policy" considering I have been a customer of theirs before multiple times, but it was "his decision" according to the manager he called. It seems he was just being difficult for the sake of being difficult and this was not a way to treat a long time customer. When I then called Enterprise Corporate my call was answered by an Anne in St Louis who apologized profusely and said this should have never happened. She was going to have a Regional Corporate Supervisor call Melvin and override the transaction for me. That didn't happen, the branch was closing at 6pm and it was now 5:45pm. I had been there since 4pm trying to get this resolved. Another call back to an escalation department left me being told it could take 3-5 days for someone to respond to my urgent matter. I left with no rental vehicle - every other place was closed that I could get to in time. I had people waiting on me and was already seriously delayed for my trip. If this is how Enterprise wants to treat Executives all because of not owning an interest bearing credit card (which by the way is why I am financially solvent), then shame on them! I am not going to be strong-armed into having an interest bearing credit card just to rent a car. It is now Day 5 and I've had no calls from anyone.This matter has only just begun. I have already mentioned this incident to several of my friends, family and clients who were long time users of Enterprise who are astonished at the way I was treated and will now be avoiding this company like the plaque. Hertz does not have this absurd policy. Neither does Avis. But I found out your sister company, Alamo, has a different ridiculous policy in that if you want to use your debit card THEY require you to have...get this..."A ROUND TRIP PLANE TICKET." WHAT?????? This is even more ridiculous! What idiot made these policies? Who runs this company? If I am broken down on the side of the road, you will not rent me a car if all I have is a debit card? Why would I need to have a round trip plane ticket? This is really good to know and I will definitely be sharing this with all of my clients, friends, family and the 350K business owners that I have access to. If anyone reads this and has had a similar problem with Enterprise or Alamo, please send me a message as I would like to know about it and compile a list of complaints against them. read more

Excellent service! They did a lot of extra work for me and saved me some money. My Chevy went into the shop to have a few recalls done (yes, a few. Thanks GM!) Enterprise picked me up at the dealership and took me to their branch, where I was sitting in my rental car within 10 minutes. The rental rate was competitive (I checked), and it took me all of 5 minutes to return the car when I brought it back - even though I screwed up and came to the door after business hours when they were trying to go home. I don't rent cars regularly, so I had planned to catch an Uber ride home. The manager wouldn't have that - he insisted that he would happily take me home. Now obviously I would never expect this kind of treatment anywhere, and I wouldn't expect it to happen again exactly, but they acted like it wasn't a problem. Long story short, I got home 10 minutes ago and sat down at the computer because I definitely owe them one and they deserve the opportunity to please as many new customers as they want. read more

This was my first time renting from an Enterprise and I had excellent service! I called 2 days prior from renting my 8 passenger vehicle and unlike other places I called they were able to accommodate my request for an 8 passenger vehicle. I spoke to the manager Melvin and he was a pleasure speaking to. Knew his job very well. I will be renting from them again very soon! Thank You!!! read more

If you can avoid using this company, you will be better off. I had to use them through my insurance co. after an accident (that wasn't my fault) I went to them the day of the accident and was probably still a little shaken or in some shock. My insurance didn't cover the total cost's and Enterprise didn't explain the extra fee's to me. They were rushing me as it was the end of the day and I guess they wanted to hurry on home. They only had two vehicle's available for me to choose and I wasn't aware that there were extra fee's for the type/size vehicle. Keep in mind this was my first accident and my first time using a rental and dealing with this company. My only option was an SUV or a Ford sedan, so I chose the Ford. When it was all said and done I ended up paying over $400.00 out of pocket that I wasn't expecting and wasn't properly explained. Since I was still waiting for the insurance co. to cut my check in order for me to get a new vehicle, I had to get an extension for a few days, I was told the extension would be a certain amount so I was okay with that, when I returned the car, it ended up being much more, again not properly explained. They made no apologies at all for at least not explaining. Terrible customer service. If I ever need another rental, it will NEVER be through them. Good for those who had a positive experience, but mine was not. Never again. I didn't want to give any stars but had to give atleast one in order to post my review. read more

Failed to show up for a home pickup. Left me calling a family member to pick up my son from school. No phone call to let me know they were "busy". The temporary branch manger said to call the manger when he got back from vacation next week. I canceled the reservation and will not use Enterprise in the future. read more
