I almost rated this a 4-star, but I'm giving it a 5. Let me tell you about our experience.... This was my first time renting a car myself. When my mom said she could only get a Tahoe from the Enterprise near her, I whipped into the Enterprise near me (Peter's Creek) and I talked to the manager and another employee to secure a larger SUV for a trip we were taking. I booked this rental two months in advance and was assured it would be there and ready the morning I needed it. I was promised a Grand Wagoneer (or comparable for seating of 7 plus cargo space). It was there the morning I went to pick up, except it we couldn't have it because it needed an oil change. So the lady helping us tried to give us an SUV the size of my personal car. Which was seating of 7 with no cargo space and wasn't what we had reserved. Finally after them hunting around, they found a car for us "across the road." But it needed to be cleaned. In a hurry, the windows had junk all over them and the floor was nasty, but I cleaned it up in my driveway at home. This whole process took an hour and for the trouble, we were given 10% off. Fair enough. And we ended up with a Grand Wagoneer L which seated 8 plus plenty of cargo space. Upon return we were late. I knew we would be, and figured we'd be charged. No big deal. We knew what we were getting into. When we brought it back we made mention of the slick tires on the car. We went through a mess of rain on our trip, but thankfully we didn't end up in any danger. To even out the trouble of the tires, which we weren't expecting anything from-we just wanted them to be aware so the next person didn't end up in any danger, they only charged us for a half additional day rather than a complete day. That was super nice, and they didn't have to do that. I've always heard Enterprise prides themselves on customer service and I believe it! Been to this location a couple of times now, and this being a bad week where I totaled my SUV one day and got my other car broken into the next, I was in need of a rental. My insurance made a reservation for the rental as I was on my way to the location, and they had it in their system by the time I arrived. It was a bit of a wait, as they were cleaning my rental and selection of rentals seem to be at a dearth these days. Because what isn't? I'm not sure what the grizzled veteran's issue is, but I didn't share that experience at all. I also don't see anything in his review that specifies what was so "racist." Seems like someone who just loves to whine for special treatment. Or perhaps he is the racist one... Anywho, the staff here have been friendly, helpful, and engaging, and they were also very apologetic about the wait. I didn't feel like the wait was too long, especially since we needed to pull a couple of switches because the first vehicle they had for me was only a 2-door and I have kids with car seats. They only had pickup trucks available, but that's fine with me as long as it qualified for my insurance daily cost limit. They had a second vehicle available with 4 doors, but upon inspection they noticed the temporary plate was ripped half off. I suppose they could've just swapped a plate, but they went ahead and switched to a third vehicle that was just finishing getting cleaned. After inspection and taking my deposit (via CREDIT CARD, Mr. Angry Vet!), I was back on the road and back towards putting my life back together! The vehicle, a Toyota Tacoma, wouldn't have been my first choice, but I will say the interior is very clean. I rented from this Winston Salem Hanes ENTERPRISE for almost a month. I was originally going to rent longer However I was told I couldn't. I had to bring car back for them to check it out and write up another contract at whatever the rate would be at that time. Went this afternoon to pick up a car. Clientele was great. Very happy attitude. Picked up car at 5:45. Drove car. Noticed rock chip. Called to report it at 5:53. Left on hold till close at 6:03 when phone was picked up (close at 6, wanted to report issue before next day). Phone was picked up, held for 5 seconds and then turned off. Car was very clean on inside, however, it smells like it had been smoked in. I called the dealer and they summoned me back for a change-out. Confirmed a reservation for my truck rental that I need for three hours today picking up the bale of hay for my horse while my personal vehicle is getting a tune up . We wait in the car patiently for over an hour because they say it will be ready at 11. That's fair enough so at the time directed by them we go in once our wait is up. The lady representing Enterprise whom I thought was a husky gentleman scoffs at us when we hand them our business debit card. Now mind you, Enterprise has a policy in place that requires a major credit card if you're not in the facilitating state your drivers license States or within 50 miles of address listed as your home. We are 12 miles from our home to this particular location and use them frequently over the years as they deteriorate with poor management and employees who not only are uneducated on their employers own policy's but the attitude of a Jerry Springer guest at best. Basically you can experience the melancholy and loathing especially from this woman Representative or whatever noun she's adopted. She scoffs at us matter of factly telling us they do not accept ever any other payment other that ofba major credit card not being of a debit or personal bank nature whatsoever. Even though we know this not to be true we don't want to tell people how to do their job because that's not our place. An argument is not worth the lost time and inconvenience this has already afforded us. We only brought our business debit and identification and it just ate the day up and was unnecessary. I understand policy and that they change, that's not the issue if that were the case. It's how people treat each other. It's getting worse, thought Covid would humble people and maybe bring people closer in appreciation but it has not in fact come close to that. After stopping at two other rental places, one of which we had made a res for in advance but we got there a few minutes late and they closed at noon and would not help us and then the second of which we called beforehand and told there was availability but by the time we got there, a few minutes later, there was NOT, this place came through and Sloane worked so hard to help us and take care of what we needed! Sloane is the definition of customer service! We were so thankful for Sloane's great attitude and for the huge efforts in going above and beyond for us. Working extra hard to help a customer problem solve in a tough situation. We were prepping for a move and needed a large vehicle and not getting the vehicle we needed on this particular day would have completely caused huge problems for us with our move schedule, it would have been a dominoes effect and so problematic. I will keep the complaints short because 2 of them are way too long. I have had 3 very poor experiences at this location (2 were recent). The first experience was with an employee who treated me like I was trash. The second time the employee told me that I had to buy the insurance (which is a lie) and then put me in a car that had brown soda all sprayed in it , ashes, and smelled nasty. The third time the manager treated me different than another customer just to put it politely. He was very aggressive and hateful towards me while I was getting the car. Never have I ever had a good, stress-free experience with Enterprise. I do not recommend unless you just don't care about the type of vehicle you want. I reserved a minivan online and so did my brother at the Peters Creek Pkwy in Winston Salem for our family vacation to Florida and it was too easy but considering past experiences with Enterprise, I never get the car I reserved. So I called them to make sure that the minivans would be available for me and my brother to rent because we need a lot of room and trunk space for the kids and our luggages. The manager, Benjamin Siegel, assured us they will have either a Chrysler Pacifica or Chrysler Voyager for us but on the day of pick-up he calls to tell me they don't have any available but they did have one available at another location in another city which is 20 min farther than the location I initially reserved at. To make matters worse, he called me 1.5 hrs before they were suppose to close to let me know if I wanted to to pick it up at the other location I only had 1.5 hrs to do so. The fact that I cancelled a reservation with Turo to simply save $30 only to have them tell me they don't have the vehicle they promised me is unacceptable. The only thing the manager, Benjamin Siegel, can say to me is I'm sorry and gave me a bunch of excuses without offering any type of compensation for my troubles and the headache. When I asked for a discount on the van at the other location he had the nerves to say the price listed is already lower than usual and he didn't have the authority. But guess what? When my brother went to the other location and told the guy working there about our troubles he, even though he wasn't a manager, was able to give my brother a pretty good discount. What is the point of reserving a specific car when it's pretty much a crap shoot if you actually get the car? I get why they only have 2 star rating on Yelp. read more

I recently rented a car from the Enterprise Peters Creek Parkway location in Winston-Salem, NC. I wanted to get picked up, but due to lack of personnel at the time, I had to get dropped off. The check-in process was quick (thankfully because everything is now done outside due to COVID-19 restrictions), the service agent was polite and professional, the car was clean and worked great, and everything went smoothly with my rental. This location is open on Saturdays, so I would rent from them again if the location nearer to my home is not available. This is for the Enterprise on 1442 S Stratford Rd, Winston Salem, NC. On 09/02/22, I reserved a rental car online for 09/03-09/06/22. I called this office right after they opened at 8:00 am on 09/03. Calling 3 x's between 8 and 9:00 I was put on hold waiting up to 15 and no one returned to the line. Finally, I got someone else after choosing different options and actually got a person. They were not from this location but a corp # I gave my confirmation # and was told someone would pick me up at 10:00 am to take me to pick up my rental, but I should call the location to confirm. After explaining that no one was actually responding, she put me thru and SOMEONE finally answered, Mike. Mike explained that they did not do pick-ups on Sat due to staff shortage, but he would reach out and get someone from another location to pick me up and they would contact me. After not hearing anything and knowing they close at noon I called at 11:00 and Mike ASSURED me someone would contact me and to make sure I answered any unknown number. He stated, "IF THEY DON'T COME TO GET YOU I WILL." Well MIKE I guess you are not a person of your word and it is a sad statement for customer service at this location. I called at noon and of course, the VM came on stating they were closed. Mike, at least you could've been upfront and I could've taken an LYFT. Horrible customer service. Just horrible. I try to never leave bad reviews either, but this Enterprise location should not be open. We waited over an hour to pick up a vehicle, and not one person even greeted us. Nothing. So, we left. Then I've been forced to use them due to my son's car accident, and him needing a rental. We've called and called and called (seriously, over twelve times). They keep putting us on hold and then hanging up on us. We called corporate to complain and to let them know that we just need a car and our insurance already placed the order. Okay, they said, we'll have them call you for pick up. When picking up a rental that was supposed to be paid for by State Farm Insurance, the customer service rep asked me to pay the difference between the Enterprise daily rate and what State Farm was paying them. I refused because it was an insurance rental and he said "OK, you don't want to pay it" and deleted the charge. That seems like a very shaky business practice. I wonder where the money would have gone if I had agreed to pay the charge... Customer Service Reps at the counter were overall polite and professional but the Area Rental Manager was rude. Hello my name is Andrea Mckoy. I recently rented a Maroon Dodge Charger at Enterprise store #5322 in Winston Salem NC. My car was hit about 3 weeks ago from an older gentlemen with USAA insurance. During my car Repair's this location gave me a 2020 Dodge Charger SXTL Marron. Vin # 2c3cdxbgxlh112507. As I arrived to this location there were 2 workers helping customers and 1 manager. After waiting 30 min I was helped by a young man name Tyree Hooks. He looked up my information and pointed at the charger for my car rental. Approaching the car we noticed a black part from the bottom left of the bumper hanging along with scratches that look like it happened the same time as the fender bender. We did a whole 360 on this car and pointed out all dings and scratches on the car. Tyree stated they are more concerned about golf size dents. Inside the car was filthy and looked like it had never been cleaned from the previous renter. Crumbs and food wiped all over the stirring wheel with crumps all over the floor. The customer in front of me complained about a car the renters was giving her, due to it being dirty and not clean. He offered to give her another car replacing the Nissan Murano with a Nissan Sentra. She complained about this car being dirty as well. The customer proceeded to take pictures of all dings on the car for her record keeping. Which is something that I should have done during visit. On 9/16 Nigel Ross contacted me asking me if I am aware of a scratch on the left side of the car. I replied to Nigel, Yes Tyree and I acknowledged these scratches before the purchase. I did not drive this car that much while I had it. I work from home 6 days a week 8 hours a day . He proceeded to say it looks like you try to cover it with finger nail polish to cover the scratch. Which was a very rude and disrespectful to a customer. I took this as insult to myself . Accusing me of an Incident that I was not present for. This location need's lot of Improvement on running this location. Tyree gave me this car rental on E with no gas . While driving the car off the lot I barely made it to the gas station. Pumping 15$ worth of gas in the car. Returning this car on 9/16 my gas was still present and I was not compensated for it. Purchased a rental and left truck in the parking lot in a area we felt was designated to do such. While on our way out of town we receive a call saying we were not allowed to leave the car in the lot. Since we were then out of state and unable to move the truck, Enterprise decided the best solution is to tow it. $250.00 tow bill to retrieve our truck from the tow company. But don't worry folks, as I ride by today I see they have corrected their signage in the parking area so that it is clear that you may not leave your car in the parking lot overnight. I was in an accident and was sent to a one stop location to have my car repaired and pick up a rental from Enterprise. I turned the car in at 4:30 pm yesterday and no one inspected it when I returned it. They called me at 8:30 this morning (18 hrs later) telling me there is a dent under the front bumper and are holding me responsible for it. I disputed it and now they have taken $250 from my account without notifying me. I do plan to contact their corporate office. I have always used them for car rentals but will no longer do so. I had a confirmed reservation for a truck, and they sent me to another location down the road where their trucks were located. They did have my reservation information, they just didn't have the truck. Think Seinfeld. Then they said come back the next day and they would have it. So i rescheduled staff to be available the next day and sent them home that day because it wasn't there. Then they repeated the same thing the next day. I booked a Kia with Enterprise Rent-a-Car on Peters Creek Pkwy because Enterprise on University Pkwy told me on the phone a time he would pick me up, then didn't show up to pick me up, didn't call to say he wouldn't be picking me up, then closed at Noon without calling to say he's closing and my road trip got delayed an entire night and 1/2 a day. Enterprise on Peters Creek Parkway on the other hand, show up on time, wearing his Sunday best, drove well, is courteous and polite to me, I like the Kia I got, I didn't have any problems driving, the Kia was in good functional condition, and when I bought the Kia back to Enterprise on Peters Creek Pkwy I got my $100 deposit back on my debit card within two business days. I would recommended Enterprise on Peters Creek Pkwy. read more

My husband and I were recently involved in a car accident. Thankfully it was not our fault, but we were in a rental for quite some time. They gave me a Chrysler 200. The staff was friendly enough but the car was a piece of junk. It had cigarette burns in the back seat and oftentimes I had to try it more than once to get it to start. I have used Enterprise for years and the WS location on Peters Creek is a solid location. The customer service is excellent. My car dealership shuttled me over to get a rental while my car was in the shop. The Enterprise staff where friendly and efficient and let me choose a model I was interested in. All my questions were answered and I was on the road in about 30 min. My only compliant was the smell of my rental car. Unfortunately, the person who used the care before me was a smoker and that smell lingered. read more

First time I've had to get a rental vehicle other than at the airport. Staff here are on top of it! Super friendly and jump to the opportunity to give A++++ customer service. Seriously they are pros at it. I observed a customer in front of me in line blowing steam and the agent kept his cool and explained why he needed the information he was requesting. The customer ran out the door like a pouting 3 year old. I commended that agent for how he handled the situation - very very impressive! It's the little things that matter. Such as taking note when you walk through the door. They say "we'll be right with you", etc etc. Gave my reservation number and they called to verify my insurance information and I was done. They walk out to the vehicle with you and give you pointers on different options the vehicle has so your not fumbling around for the wipers switch or head lights. The only down side to this experience is the lack of vehicles they have available. However, vehicle are coming in and out of this place constantly as well as customers. Overall I would highly recommend enterprise for their professionals and outstanding customer service to anyone wanting a stress free rental experience! Can't go wrong with this place! read more

I believe we got the nastiest car they have. It wasn't vacuumed, something spilled down the inside of the doors and animal hair stuck to everything. We reserved a certain car 2 days before, yet it wasn't ready when we got there. Had to wait an hour plus drive to their other office to get it. As we were filling out the paper work, they gave our reserved car to the guy in front of us. They had just cleaned that one by the way. After a recent rental, Enterprise sent me several emails requesting I leave feedback...so here goes: It was the filthiest vehicle (15 passenger van) I've ever gotten from a rental agency. The glass wasn't clean, ground in dirt on the floors are seats, outside hadn't been washed, smelled funky, etc. since it was delivered to my workplace late on a Friday, there was no time to exchange for a clean replacement. We had to use sheets to cover the seats to sit on them... Personally, I have had bad experiences with enterprise in the past few years. I was forced to use this location due to my SUV needing repair. I was promised a small SUV. Upon arrival, it has been rented the day before. The van that I was given was in terrible condition. The rear seat was broken, making it nearly impossible to get my child in and out. They promised to locate a SUV by the next day. After the 4th day, I gave up calling. The van had been smoked in and smelled disgusting. I returned the vehicle to the body shop as instructed and 5 days later received a call for payment for an additional day since they failed to pick the van up for 24 hours. Great service at this Enterprise. John assisted me with understanding the insurance coverage offered by my credit card and through my regular (Canadian) car insurance to see if I was covered. He went above and beyond to make sure I was properly covered and that I wasnt paying for coverage I didnt need. He even turned on the wifi on his phone since my phone doesnt have data in the US so I could try to get in contact with my insurer to confirm/find my policy document. He was patient and friendly the whole time even though I was a bit frustrated. I was served very promptly and received a clean, reliable car. I used Enterprise on 3 consecutive occasions & was satisfied with their services. For the most part I was in & out of there fairly quickly. My only issue was reserving an economy or compact car, out of the three times they only had one once. I'm not sure why you're allowed to reserve something they don't have. Everyone that helped me was professional & helpful. It's also a plus that they will pick you up & drop you off wherever. 3 weeks after I realized I had left a pair of sunglasses in one of the cars, so I went by to see if they still had them & they did so, you know these are people who are trustworthy. I went into the local Enterprise this morning to rent a vehicle, there was a lot to learn about my the changes in the rental car business what an experience it was, after I completed the transaction almost an hour later. I was led out to a New 2016 Nis-Altma to drive. The Car was in the worse condition I had ever seen at rental car lot, it had not been washed or clean on the inside, all of the windows were dirty, and it had a bad smell inside of it, it had less than a quarter tank of Gas. When I brought it to the Enterprise rep attention at the Winston-Salem Petercreek Location He didn't seem to care at all about the way the car looked. I am a very professional business person and I sell cars. There is no way I would ever treat a customer this way, and would never put them in a car that reflects my company's image that looked this bad, after they came into my business to trust me with their business. Enterprise should be a shame and refund the $184.00 cost for the one day rental. I will never rent at this business again. I gave a one and wish I could split it in half. Only car rental place in the Winston-Salem area that was open on a Sunday! It did take quite a long time to get through the rental process even with a reservation. They did not have the type of car I had reserved so they upgraded at no charge. One thing they neglected to tell me was that I only had to bring the fuel tank back to what it was when I received the car so they ended up getting a full tank rather than a 3/4 tank full of gas. I've used Enterprise, this particular store, for 2-3 years in a row, for christmas trips from NC to TN. The previous 2 times, (2012 and 2013) We were jerked around on the price, told different amounts every time we called and had the price change on us when we went to pick up the car at least once, each time. This year (2014) we asked all the questions. We were as thorough as possible, and they STILL, managed to change the price, after ensuring us over the phone that if we showed up with $xxx.xx, we WOULD leave with the chosen car. Upon arriving to pick up the car, we find out they've tacked on more, because the employees find themselves unable to ask 5 simple questions. While the lady at the front desk attempted to appease us by "removing the deposit", all she managed to do was "remove money from our rental bill" and add it to our car insurance bill, by not charging us for the insurance needed to cover the rental. This was NOT told to us ahead of time, we were completely broadsided by the loss of money and now find ourselves in a very difficult position. I've contacted the company over and over again with no answer, no attempt at resolution, no compassion in the slightest. I will not EVER be using this company again. People do not call and ask about a price if they have the money to just throw around whenever, for whatever, people call about pricing because they have a set amount of money budgeted and can NOT afford to pay more. So thank you for the "more" Enterprise, I would rather spend double next year, than go through your company again. read more
